About this apartment rental
This unusually spacious (1200 sq ft), two-bedroom apartment is located just three short blocks from world famous “Leblon Beach”, yet it’s tucked away from the hustle and bustle of metropolitan life in Rio de Janeiro’s “Zona Sul”. It’s close to everything (shops, restaurants, shopping malls, and did I mention… the beach?), yet it’s safe, secure, quiet and relaxing. It’s the perfect place to wind down between sightseeing activities and to recharge the batteries for your next adventure.
The main living area was greatly expanded when the original owner left the third bedroom open to the living room, creating a great “nook” for a home office (where there’s a large granite desk and a comfortable, leather office chair). The extra space gives the living and dining area a very open feel, creating a sort of “great room” where you’ll spend most your time while home and awake. The sofas are very comfortable for Brazil (they were actually imported from USA), and provide a great place to doze off after a sunny day on the beach, a few “caipirinhas”, and a refreshing cold shower. There are three ceiling fans to keep the air circulating around the large area, or just to create a nice “Ridley Scott” visual.
Technologically speaking, the apartment is better appointed than any luxury hotel. With a 50” plasma TV, the top package of high-definition, digital TV programming, a PS3 for Blu-ray movies, music, games and even web browsing, as well as a Roku media streaming device, you’ll feel at home (but don’t stay too long – get out and see Rio!). There's also a 32' LED TV in the suite, with another Roku media streaming box, for Netflix, etc.
The Internet connection is fast for Rio de Janeiro (60 Mbps), and there’s a fast WiFi network (802.11N) capable of delivering connectivity to all your WiFi enabled devices throughout the apartment (and pool below!). In case you don’t use Skype, and need to call back to the United States (or elsewhere), there’s a VOIP (Vonage) phone line with free calls to and from the USA. Calls to all other countries, including local calls in Brazil, are inexpensive and can be deducted from your deposit if you choose to use this option. There are three computer monitors on the large desk, free for you to connect to your laptop if you wish. If you didn't bring a laptop and need a computer, one can be provided (additional security deposit required).
The bedrooms each have queen mattresses with memory foam mattress toppers and king-size down pillows. Each room has its own air conditioner. One of the bedrooms is a suite, with the bathroom attached, and the other has a bathroom right down the hall. Both bedrooms have plenty of closet space and drawers to hang your clothes and store your possessions.
The kitchen/service area has American appliances (refrigerator, gas stove, washer and dryer), which I brought to Brazil when I moved there years ago. They are not new, but are a pleasant surprise when compared to the usual miniature-size appliances in Brazil. I will stock the refrigerator with plenty of beer and soda to get your vacation started. You can take it from there.
As appointed, the apartment will sleep 4 adults. However, as mentioned above, the sofas are very comfortable and could easily sleep another 2 (although the love seat might be tight for a large person). For a party larger than 6, or for more comfort than the sofas, we can provide very comfortable air mattresses. Two full-size air mattresses or one queen will fit behind the sofa in the 'home office' portion of the great room. We recently installed black-out curtains in that room, so that if anyone does decide to sleep there, they can sleep as late as they want (as long as the other guests let them ;-)

Fantastic Flat in the Heart of Leblon
We stayed at this property over Carnaval. The property itself is spacious, clean and comfortable. You can not beat the location; a few blocks from Ipanema and in the center of the beautiful Leblon section of the city. Harvey, the owner, is a wonderful guy and if you don't get to meet him, his property minders are also warm and helpful with any requests. I would recommend this property to anyone who wants a home-away-from-home while visiting beautiful Rio.

Great house, great location and great host!
This house was perfect for our stay. Very comfortable and with all the amenities necessary for a stay in Rio's Carnival. The location was perfect, 5 min walk to the beach and near great restaurants and bars, in the best part of Rio.
The 24h security in the building allowed us to get it and out at made everything easier for a group like ours. The rooms are equipped with A/C, the living room is very comfortable and the kitchen is fully equipped.
Above all, Skip (the host), made us feel at home at all times, always available to provide us with any assistance necessary - before, during and after our stay -and to attend to our needs and makes us comfortable, he was definitely the biggest asset of this place.
He will be on my speed dial when coming back to Rio for sure!

Amazing Apartment and Host in Leblon, Rio
We were hosted by Skip during carnival week in his amazing house located in the center of Leblon, Rio de Janeiro. Everything went great and at all times since the moment we booked the apartment until the day we left. The apartment has good space, it is very clean and has all the amenities you need to enjoy your time in Rio. Skip answered to all our queries almost automatically (check in, before and during the stay, after check out) and always ensured we had everything we needed. The location of the apartment is amazing, walking distance from every cool spots in Leblon and a few minutes walk from the beach. When we return to Rio, this is the place we want to be at.

Just perfect
All i can say is that was just perfect my stay at Harvey`s apartament. Brand new apartament`s interiror, so clean and tidy, the reception that we had was fenomenal and the location is the best in Rio, close to a big supermarket, shopping mall, 2 or 3 blocks from the beach and surrounded by bars and restaurants. I trully recomend.

We had the opportunity to stay in Skip's condo in the Leblon area of Rio over the New Year's period and it was everything as promised. The area was very nice and close to the beach. There was a 24 hour grocery store within one block that was priced well and had all the provisions we would need. Skip had provided some snacks, beer and wine to welcome us and they were most appreciated. We found some outstanding restaurants all within walking distance and, although you always need to aware of street crime in any major city, we never felt unsafe.
The unit itself was nicely appointed and accommodated two couples. It has TV that we didn't watch, phone and internet that we did use, nice dishes, glassware, cooking utensils...etc. The washer/dryer came in handy so we could take clean clothes to start our cruise. The building itself is very secure being gated and with a 24/7 security guard and all of them were very helpful. Skip sent in cleaning staff half way through our stay and then his rental manager met us upon our departure. We would recommend this place to anyone.
One suggestion (although not a big deal) is to de-clutter the clothes closets in the bedrooms. The bedding/blankets did make it a bit difficult to hang our clothes.
It was a great stay in an interesting city. Take some tours...well worth doing.

Great location
My group and I stayed at this location during the 2016 Rio Olympics. The owner and staff were very friendly and helpful throughout our entire length of stay. The apartment was in a great location, close to the beach, metro, eateries and mall. The apartment was very clean and offered great amentaties. I will definetly try to stay here again the next I'm in Rio.

Try Leblon and this property! You will love it!

Perfection!
I cannot say enough great things about this place! Having never used VRBO before, I was honestly very skeptical. However, this place exceeded my every expectation. The location was perfect - a 2 minute walk to the beach and near tons of fun restaurants and bars. It was a very clean and safe neighborhood, and the apartment itself was awesome, very spacious, and extremely comfortable. We fit 4 adults very easily. Skip was a pleasure to work with! He was very responsive and so caring. I would without a doubt stay here again - hopefully when I get a chance to visit Rio again :) Thanks, Skip, for making our stay in Brazil even more amazing!

Highlight of Rio!
Wonderful Condo. Has all the amenities! Great Area!. Taxi stand just up the street across from the grocery store. Many restaurants in walking distance. Owner Skip was extremely helpful answered all our questions in great detail. (Our first time using VRBO and PayPal) His assistant Edna met us and made us feel at home. Her computer converted our English into Portuguese. Fridge was stocked with startup supply of OJ/Milk/Water/Beer. Coffee bar setup. We were very pleased with our stay. If in RIO would stay here again.

He provided directions, restaurant recommendations, tourist hot spots, and was available for any questions or concerns we had. I would recommend this place for anyone and felt so lucky to have it! The location is unbelievable but the level of attention Skip paid to us and the thought he put into making the apartment feel like a home (including phone, internet, and even Netflix) really sets this apartment apart.

The apartment is very well furnished and equipped - it is not large, but it was very comfortable for me and my 3 young adult children, and it had exactly everything we needed, exactly where we expected to find it. Skip is a wonderful landlord - he was extremely accomodating and welcoming and he gave us great recommendations for neighborhood restaurants and highlights, including vegetarian recommendations. He is a great ambassador for a warm and wonderful city. We did all the things that tourists do, enjoyed them all, and were so happy to come home to our comfortable flat every evening. Fast wifi makes planning and communication easier. We felt lucky to have found the perfect spot to build family memories.

We loved it, the girls and Skip were wonderful, very helpful with all of our questions about restaurants, shopping and things to do! Thank you so much for a wonderful holiday. We know where we’re staying when we return to Rio!

Location, Location, Location!
Our women's paddling team stayed in Skip's apartment for 9 nights in August 2014 and it was absolutely fantastic! The short daily walk to and from Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas for our racing events was perfect. The neighborhood includes a large, convenient supermarket, shops, restaurants, and a school nearby. Leblon Beach is a short, pretty walk in the other direction and Shopping Leblon (a huge high-end complex) is just a few blocks away. We felt safe and secure. The apartment looks exactly as it is pictured - it is comfortable, clean, has maid service, and the free Vonage phone which allows guests to call home is the icing on the cake. Skip allowed us to come in early after a long overnight flight and stay a bit later before our return flight. We truly loved the whole experience and would recommend it to all other travelers.

Live, Love, Lablon
Stayed here for 9 glorious nights early August. Safe, comfortable, fabulous. This is the best choice for a stay in Rio. Supermarket nearby, great places for food and drink. We were there for a paddling competition and some of the others at the competition stayed at Copacobana and did not have the same experience. Skip was helpful ...the best host ever.

Excellent accomodation for Rio visitors - highly recommended!
Our family of 4 stayed at Skip’s apartment for 12 days during the World Cup final. The accommodation was perfect for us. The apartment was in a secured building and high-end neighborhood with a couple of large grocery stores and several nice restaurants within a short walk. Leblon beach is only 3 short blocks away. We felt safe to walk around the neighborhood in the evening. Skip and his assistant, Edna, were fantastic and extremely helpful during our stay. Among other things, when learning of our late arrival (midnight), Skip arranged for breakfast items in the fridge for us, so that we didn’t have to look for things in our first day in Rio – we didn’t make any request for that in advance and greatly appreciated Skip’s hospitality. We highly recommend Skip’s place and would definitely stay there again when we go back to Rio.

Quiet and Relaxing in Leblon
We were so relaxed and comfortable at Skip's apartment. It was spacious and organized including very important ceiling fans and AC when staying in Rio. We were there with our young children, ages 3 and 6, and they loved the play area outside by the pool where they played and swam every day. The location is in the best neighborhood filled with beautiful trees walking distance to many options for restaurants including Lagoon on the lake and of course a few short blocks to the beach.
