Excellent space for gatherings but also individual space. Sleeping areas on different levels offered various choices for singles and couples. I have never seen a rental stocked so well, even baby gates, eating utensils, toys. Kitchen was stocked very well. Loved all the decks! Watched sunrise on one and sunset on another + an additional one. Hot tub was great and lovely ground floor patio area with chairs and tables. Bike paths right there. Ski equipment room and roomy garage. The communication was superb both before arrival, requirements, instructions and after.

We had a wonderful stay in Steamboat and this comfortable, well-outfitted home was a perfect complement to our trip. My husband, 70-yr-old mother, and 5-yr-old-daughter joined me for our spring break trip and there was plenty to meet all of our needs. We absolutely loved the town and community and had many adventures skiing, snowshoeing, sledding, making snowmen, going to gymnastics, story time at the local library, enjoying the hot springs, fantastic meals out every evening, and beautiful views from the living room of this home. We contacted the property manager for a couple of items and she was swift with her response and assistance. We will definitely come back in the future!

First, the location is perfect. We are used to Breckenridge where we often have to drive a ways to get to the slopes and restaurants. This house feels private and is very quiet, peaceful, and what you want out of a mountain home, yet it is only four minute drive to restaurants. The house itself is huge with plenty of room to accomodate big groups. It is gorgeous and as pictured. We did have some issues with appliances - the washer didn't work, which made laundry challenging with all our outdoor activities. Candice did pay for laundry service and when the laundry was closed, the house service lady did the laundry herself. There were a few mishaps along the way, but Candice and Jessica truly did everything they could and it is certainly not their fault that the washer broke. As far as Steamboat goes, this was our first time and we loved it so much that I am literally looking for a job there. The town is no where near as crowded as Breckenridge and everything is so conveniently located. I was also pleased that grocery prices were reasonable. For activities, our family favorite was Strawberry hot springs. We also LOVED Saddleback ranch. We did a winter horse ride and snow tubing. And of course skiing. Trails were just as good as Breckenridge. The Steamboat Yampa airport is so easy to navigate that a child could do it and the airport staff were friendly- that's not something we see often in the big cities we are used to. Snowmobiling at Saddleback is also recommended. Comfy beds

Really enjoyed our one week stay at this lovely steamboat springs home. I loved how communicative the property manager was and the location can’t be beat. The views of the mountains are beautiful and the hiking paths behind the home were fun to explore. We also walked to downtown which was only a 10 minute stroll. The layout of the house was ideal - one master on the 1st floor, two bedrooms on the 2nd floor and 2 bedrooms on the 3rd floor. We spent most of our time in the spacious kitchen making meals and eating on the balcony. Convenient location close to hot springs, breweries, playgrounds and shops. Fabulous stay!

We stayed at this property with another family. It was a perfect location and great layout. Lots of beds and space for our group of 6 people! The property manager was very easy to deal with and responsive to messages. We love Steamboat and I will look to rent this same house next time we visit.

The home was large and comfortable. It was clean and we had all the expected supplies so we did not have to make a quick run to the store on day one. We had good communication with the agent and everything worked properly. The only issue was that there were flies and a few wasps in the loft. We do not blame the home or the agency for this act if nature.

So impressed with the level and quality of the entire location. The home was rustic, cozy and comfortable with room for all. The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed to serve a Thanksgiving meal including ham, and turkey with stuffing. The hot tub was very comfortable and user friendly. A bonus for us was the location. We could, sled, ski or cross country all at the hill up the block. We walked to old town in 15 minutes. It was the best ever and we hope to return sometime.

We were a group of eleven ladies from several different states that met in Steamboat for a long weekend. The property accommodated us well. The one drawback for our party was that the two women that shared the loft had to share the main floor bathroom. The stairs are treacheraous in the middle of the night. The views are spectacular and we loved the location! The property is close to town and walkable although the walk back is a bit steep. Overall, we all agreed that if we meet again in Steamboat we would stay here again. Thank you.

we enjoyed the stay very much. the house was spacious and had plenty of plates, cups glasses and siver ware and other sundries that made things easy. the location was very good.
One item that we were concerned about was the loft area which didn't seem very good (safe) for small children due to no railing at the top. A ittle heads up on that would help.
All and all a nice place with a lot of room and great views.

Few things didn't work overall good
Overall good place to stay. Ice maker work but would not dispense. Had to turn braker on to get oven to work. Needs a few new nonstick skillets, have not been taken care of,

Fantastic!
Loved everything about our stay. Candice was super great to work with. She was super friendly and responsive to all of my texts and emails. The view of the mountain from the living room and hot tub is unbelievable. We had nine adults and our 2 1/2 year old and had more than enough room for everyone to sleep and hangout comfortably. Little one went to bed downstairs and was comfortable and sleeping while the adults were upstairs still having a good time. There is plenty of space in the house so she was not bothered by the noise upstairs at all and slept comfortably. Can’t say enough good things!

Sunny week in Steamboat
We loved this house——-so much space, fabulous view, short ride to downtown, walkable to Emerald Mountain trails, large dining table for meals/games, hot tub and huge mud room area for skis, boots, jackets, etc.

Wonderful Home!
This home was perfect for our extended family gathering over Christmas and New Years. It was super clean and had all the things a rental house should. It's super close to town (and the mountain) and the house manager was super helpful and responsive! Amazing experience all around!

Beautiful log cabin home in Steamboat Springs
Amazing location over looking downtown and the ski slopes. Easy 12min walk to downtown. Beautiful deck that face east and west. Plenty of hiking and biking right from the front and back door. Plenty of beds and space for visitors. Main floor is very cozy for cooking, chilling, and catching up
Would definitely come back

Family Reunion 4 - 72
This is the best kitchen and dining set up we have have ever had at a VRBO. The house was beautiful and well supplied. The is no air conditioning, so our 90* days were hot. The steps up to the loft bedroom are extremely step and narrow. Caution is needed when using. There are several very nice outdoor areas. There were toys and books for younger kids. Our 4 year old especially loved the dinosaurs and books.

Survived the Heat and Smoke
Great house for a large group as long as stairs are not an issue for anyone. Lots a sleeping options and very spacious.
No A/C, so plan on managing the heat and non-curtained windows in the main living space during the summer.
Property manager was very kind but limited with any options for the heat. The wildfire smoke made it more challenging yet. Needs a gas grill in the dry mountains. We couldn’t grill
Outside as we were not willing to chance the fire danger of briquettes.
Overall, the house was clean but not the higher end accommodations we would have expected for the price.
Easy access to downtown.

Perfect house for large family gathering
We rented Howelsen house for a weeklong reunion of our extended family. We had adults, teenagers, and elementary school kids and everyone had a great time. The huge living room & kitchen/dining area made for great spots to gather and play games, watch movies, & relax after exploring the local area. All the beds are comfortable with ample pillows & blankets available for the cool nights. The kitchen is well appointed with all the pots, pans, dishes you’ll need to prepare big meals. All the appliances are top notch and in good working order. WiFi was adequate for streaming TV and 5 teenagers with devices. Lower suite is perfect for a small family or folks that keep odd hours with own kitchenette and bath.
The house has a superb view of Steamboat and the surrounding area. The one west and two east facing balconies made for fantastic sunrises and sunsets. Two car garage accommodated an Expedition MAX and the entry way area allowed for storage of shoes/bags that kept everything out of the way. Hot tub seats 8 and made for a fun cap to the cool evenings.
The house is literally down the street from the trailhead where you can hike/bike and a 5 minute walk to the river/downtown area. This was our first visit to Steamboat and we loved it!

Great location, perfect set up for group of family or friends. Beautiful property!
We loved walking to downtown, using the mountain bike trail right out the back door. Kitchen is well stocked with cook utensils. Layout of rooms is great for getting space when needed. Hot tub is clutch! Property manager was easy to reach but we didn’t need her for anything. Highly recommend!

June visit to Steamboat
This house has great views and was large enough for our family to spread out. Very nicely decorated which my family loved. Some maintenance issues. Nice hiking/biking trail just a few yards away. Steamboat is a great place to visit with lots to do with very friendly people.

This house truly lives up to the amazing pictures. We were in awe at how spectacular it is the entire time we were there and couldn't get enough of the amazing views off the front and back porch. It's perfectly perched up on that ridgeline overlooking town, and if you want to take the back way it's only 0.5 miles to town via a trail right off the back yard. Or you could head out the front to a road where a free shuttle will take you virtually anywhere. One aspect that really shined is how well outfitted the space is for a ski trip on the first floor. An incredible boot dryer station, tons of cubbies on 2/4 walls in that room, and a wall lined with hooks. Nothing else going on down there really but it was a perfect set up for a ski house. Also we never had any issues with the sulfur smell. Maybe it's a factor of time of year and/or wind direction, but you couldn't smell it at all at the house, only briefly on the drive in as you passed one of the springs. Now a few things I want to make future travelers aware of. The queen bed in the loft is actually a full bed and is no good for sleeping two full sized adults if you're planning on it (unless of course they're in a relationship...) also there are obviously extensive cleaning exercises associated with changeover of such a large property that I assumed were fully figured into the cost, however we were charged for extra cleaning so give it a good sweep/vacuum before leaving to ensure it's in satisfactory shape. Also showering before entering the hot tub is always good practice to try to preserve the water as clean as possible for as long as possible, especially if you have a large group/long stay. There is no railing to the loft stairs either which could pose a danger to a young child or drunk adult, so be mindful. All in all, none of this could touch it's 5 star rating and I am truly excited for anyone else that has the opportunity to stay at this amazing property.

Awesome House with Spectacular Views!
This house was perfect for our extended family of nine adults. Extremely clean & comfortable inside. The kitchen was very functional and the huge dining table easily fit all of us. Outside the views are absolutely spectacular! We were able to access a hiking trail right out the back of the house, which also connects with mountain bike trails. You can take the trail to downtown or it is a quick car ride. The property manager Candice was great to work with before, during & after our stay. We had a couple of small things pop up during our stay and Candice was extremely responsive. She went above & beyond to make sure we had a great stay. We would definitely stay at this home again and I highly recommend it to anyone looking to visit Steamboat Springs.

Much better options for the money
Pros
-The home by itself is spacious and adequately furnished.
Cons
-The sulfer smell is gross and you smell it every time you go outside.
-The bus to the mountain is a half mile walk and you need to make a connection. It is an hour each way.
-The WiFi was not working because they didn't pay the bill and it took the management company 2 days to respond and pay the bill.
-The kitchen garbage was full when we checked in (not a big deal but just a reflection on the overall management)
-A stair tread broke and my friend fell when it happened. I don't know how you improperly use a stair but the management company kept out deposit and said it was our fault. A month has passed and they have never sent a cost of the repair, they just ignore my emails and calls to settle.
I suggest you move on and find a home with a better management company and location.

Great house in Steamboat
We were 2 families renting together and we enjoyed that there was enough space for all of us and even enough to eat dinner together at one table. We enjoyed the hot tub every night after skiing. It was a short drive in to town and an easy drive to the meadows parking lot for skiing. The house was nicely decorated and well furnished. The kids really enjoyed the sleds and were able to use them right outside the house. Great views.

It’s a very nice, spacious house! Perfect for a large group. It is very easy to ski in, but a little bit of a challenge to ski out.

Breathtaking views of Steamboat
Wonderful home with plenty of space for family reunion. Excellent communication from property manager. Pictures dont do justice to this wonderful home. Will definitely stay here again.

Great Location
This property is located just outside of town. The house was clean and well appointed There were a few hiccups during our stay that Candice addressed and tried to solve but were beyond her ability to fix.
There are a few items I would point out. The owner fees are very high. If you are going to charge a wifi fee it should be high speed wifi not the extremely slow service provided which is not fast enough to connect to a VPN or to stream movies. It would be nice if there were a few additional pillows provided as the ones on the lower master seem old and flat.
I would be inclined to stay here again except for the high fees charged by the owner

Beautiful home, great location
We had a great introduction to Steamboat Springs thanks to this home and it's gorgeous views and location. The kitchen was fully stocked for our breakfast cooking and there were frosty mugs in the freezer for our cold drinks! The rooms and beds were so comfortable and there was a beautiful view from each one. The kids' cabinet full of toys and games was an amazing touch. We hope to come back next year! Thank you!

Property was all we hoped it would be. Our family had a wonderful reunion and we were very comfortable. The kitchen is very well equipped. Loved the big island. It was a gathering spot for everyone.

Family reunion home!
It was a lovely, spacious home and very well stocked for all things in the kitchen. The upstairs beds and linens were wanting, but the master was lovely. It was proximate to town and had the most incredible view!

Overall a wonderful place to stay
Overall a great place to stay for a large group and I would stay there again. The kitchen table was large and could seat our large group. Everyone had lots of space. The location of the place felt private but also close to town and a short 10 min drive to the ski hill. Lots of space for ski gear and a boot dryer downstairs. Hot tub was great. There are walking trails just a short walk up the road. Nice to have garage parking. Lots of games and toys for my toddlers. And the best part was they were good quality like blocks, wooden train sets, etc. There were also sleds in the garage. My kids had so much fun. The kitchen was well stocked to make whatever we needed. The owner was responsive to my texts with questions/requests during our stay. My critique: The twin beds upstairs were really tall with the box springs which wasn't great for my toddlers but we made it work. Also the queen bed in the upstairs bedroom really needs a new mattress and blankets. The mattress had two craters where you lay that weren't very comfortable. One of the blankets was shedding a lot. After a day of skiing we were pretty tired and it was fine but a newer mattress would have been great. Also, just a note to the owner, the house is made for a lot of people so it would be great if the living room had more seating. You could totally fit another loveseat in there or even a large L-shaped couch.
