Nice balcony with beautiful views. Ideal location, quiet and close to downtown, comfortable bed and bedding. Could use a thorough deep cleaning and a non-stick frying pan.

We stayed the month of June in the Santa Barbara Casita. Excellent location with beautiful views. The spacious studio has large windows all around and is filled with light. It is privately situated above a detached garage so there are stairs to climb when entering at the stunning veranda. The property is well appointed with all the necessities. Parking was always available on the street and the beaches and downtown are all close by. The host, Mary was always available when needed. We tried to schedule for next year but was already booked. We hope to come back again!

This was a repeat stay at the Casita hosted by Mary and Tom and our best stay, yet. The studio is very spacious and well equipped with alot of privacy and spectacular views even at night with the twinkly lights of Santa Barbara in the valley below the mountains. Very conveniently located to downtown and the beaches plus stores and restaurants. Walking around the well established neighborhood is nice, but you will need transportation to get to most places. With so many things to see and do in Santa Barbara, the Casita offers affordable, comfortable accommodations for two with a view!

My partner and I had an amazing time staying with Mary and Tom. Their casita is fabulous - windows all around let in wonderful and refreshing breezes. The view of the mountains is to die for. The bed was very comfortable and the deep soaking tub was the best. Mary and Tom are super hospitable and friendly. Mary is a gem. Highly recommended!

This studio apartment sits atop the separate garage on the property, having great views in all directions, especially from the balcony. The kitchen is large and well-appointed for those who like to cook. Downtown SB is minutes away. We were visiting SB for an extended stay at the University, and found the property to be everything we could have wanted.

Santa Barbara- as close to Europe stateside as possible
Santa Barbara is magical. Spanish Days/architecture/public spaces and the best Yoga Soup studio ever all walking distance from this perch with a twinkling light view every night. Watch the sun rise and set from the studio. Weather is Devine with plenty of breezes off the hill. This is a great way to experience Santa Barbara living.
Concerts in the parks and SB bowl, ocean walks - it just doesn’t get any better. Thanks for the memories❤️

When something is this magical you have to share the experience!I have never given an online review!
To anyone looking for a place to stay in Santa Barbara I urge you to stop your search. You have landed on a very special place. First the pictures don't do the place justice. The views are etched in my memory and our time here will forever be in my heart. I was looking for a place to stay for 32 days and I am an extensive researcher, I am particular, polite always, but do expect what is promised at hotel but if it's not what is promised I asked to be moved. You are given what you are promised at this very magical place. Mary and Tom are truly the most thoughtful, respectful host, walking the fine line of giving us our privacy yet being completely accommodating and helpful. Their thoughtfulness can not be beat! The gentle breeze, the views, the very comfortable bed, the awesome shower and water pressure, the OUTSTANDING attention to details, every detail, the LOCATION LOCATION!, the memories you will make. Everything is close by, I had my morning walk at Chase Palm Park everyday, gorgeous, five minutes by car. Everything I wanted to do was just a short trip. I walked the neighborhood. We also had 2 day trips that were totally manageable. Near by dining great! Near by groceries, beaches, mall, movies, State Street, I can't stress enough the amazing location. The thoughtful host! We felt very well cared for and everything went beautifully. Mary and Tom are just so wonderful. Will I return again? I only hope I am so fortunate! To open the morning curtains and be greeted with such a view and the breeze, we keep talking about the breeze and the calmness, the comfort and care. Each afternoon or sometime during the day my plan was to sit outside and read a book, instead I would close my eyes and feel the warmth of the sun with the gentle breeze or gaze upon the view. The view to the left has five palm trees with a huge pine to their left off in the distance and to watch the sunset, a sight to behold. As I said at the beginning of this, my first ever online review, look no more you've found your Santa Barbara home away from home, you will be well cared for and what you are promised is given. Your privacy is respected and your needs are met. You hearts will be forever filled with warm and endearing memories and you too will long to return after your first visit. Honestly, I am tough to please and all my expectations were exceeded. Mary and Tom have a little slice of paradise and we are lucky they are willing to share such a special place with us.

Great location, beautiful view and everything you need!
I’ve stayed here for four months and couldn’t be happier. The location is great, it’s quiet, with amazing views of the mountains from the balcony. It’s close to the Mesa for serious food shopping, walking distance to some smaller shops on San Andres, and you can easily cycle to downtown in 10 minutes, or the beach. The casita itself is lovely and luxurious and fully stocked with everything you could imagine needing, in terms of cooking utilities, board games, DVDs, books, beach towels, etc. The owners Tom and Mary and their cat Dudley are incredibly welcoming and accommodating. I loved every day and was sorry to leave!

Back again for a month.
We have just got back from a month at Mary and Tom's lovely Casita. This was our fourth monthly stay in as many years which pretty much shows how much we like it. The Casita is tasteful, well appointed and comfortable. The view over the town and into the mountains is beautiful and ever changing. We enjoyed walking the neighbourhood and downtown onto State St. via Micheltorena St. which took about thirty minutes past many lovely gardens. There is lots to see strolling on State St. Other highlights include the Saturday and Tuesday farmer's markets, Hendrie beach, Lilac Patisserie, the ranch at San Ysidro and happy hour at The Anderson. As alway's Mary and Tom were a pleasure to deal with; hospitable, professional and friendly without being intrusive. We will be back. Owen and Angie, Ontario, Canada.

Could not be more perfect
My boyfriend and I stayed here for 2 nights to explore Santa Barbara as part of our anniversary trip down the PCH. Mary and Tom's casita was one of our favorite places we stayed at during the entire trip! As soon as we arrived, Tom was there and took us up to the casita and we were in awe of the gorgeous view of Santa Barbara from the balcony. We were in love with the wonderful natural breeze that flowed into the property thru the windows and huge french doors and enjoyed having our coffee outside on the balcony. The casita itself was very, very clean and had everything we needed, including a fully stocked kitchen, coffee beans and grinder, and plenty of towels. <10 min drive to downtown Santa Barbara. Thanks Mary and Tom for a great stay! We will definitely look to stay here again the next time we are in the area.

Wonderful peaceful place to stay
Love this place, nice and quiet. Has everything one would need. A great place to come back to after all the family activities around my sister's wedding. Thanks so much for letting us stay with you. I would recommend it to family and friends. Perhaps the need to find a place in SB will arise again and I would choose this first.

The property was as advertised in website
This Casita has an excellent location to reach anywhere in Santa Barbara. It is close to Hwy 101 for easy access to South or North.
It is only about a mile or two from downtown State Street where all the good restaurants are located.
The property was very clean and it provides everything for a comfortable stay. The owners were very cooperative and available when needed.
Since it has windows all sides ,it provides good ventilation and no need for A/C or even fan during our stay.
The parking in front of the house on a street was very convenient and available at any time.
It is a quite, secure and good place to stay in Santa Barbara.
We stayed for a week and played golf at beautiful Sand Piper Ocean Golf course.

Perfect place for 70th Birthday Celebration
The Casita was the perfect place to spend a week exploring the Santa Barbara area for my husband's 70th Birthday. The description and excellent reviews which made me choose this property were accurate and very helpful. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom luxurious. We cooked 5 of the 7 nights and Mary and Tom had everything one might need or use in the very well furnished kitchen. It was nice to have fresh cold filtered water in the refrigerator and 2 fans going when we arrived on a very hot day. There are windows all around the apartment, so a nice breeze came in every night and we were quite comfortable during the unusual hot spell. The sitting area was a cozy place to read or watch TV (which we didn't, but I assume it worked just fine). We also appreciated the double bed lights so that we could read in bed. We did not take advantage of the garden area, but It looked inviting for a quiet read or visit. The location is awesome - near everything, in a very nice neighborhood, with wonderful views from every window! We will definitely recommend this guest casita to anyone we know who plans to visit Santa Barbara. We had come prepared with a list of things to do and see, but did appreciate all the information that Mary and Tom provided on the sights, activities, restaurants, etc. If you have time, be sure to check out the Botanical Gardens, the Channel Islands for hiking, La Purisima Mission in Lompoc, Solvang (we enjoyed the outdoor theater), and of course, all the town sights. And if you like Traditional Irish Music and are there on a Thursday night, go to Dargans. We had a great time, enjoyed the beer, didn't think too much of the food, but we were there for the music which was wonderful! And finally, if/when we go back to Santa Barbara, the Casita would be our first choice of a place to stay.
