About this house rental
This beautiful lake house is located on lake Catherine side of chef menture hwy. There’s 2 bedrooms with full size beds and 1 bunk room with 3 bunk beds. The camp has 1.5 bathrooms with a rinse off spot under the house. It has a nice size back porch and a connecting pier with a dock at the end for fishing or relaxing. There are 7 crab traps tied on the pier for your availability:) there is a lower part to the dock where you can tie your boat or jet ski to the dock. Plenty of parking! Kitchen is fully stocked with dishes, pots, and pans. If you book 5 or more nights I will have a complementary full propane tank for the barbecue pit and a full 5 gallon water jug in the water dispenser for your arrival. This was the 3rd year my family has stayed here, and we've enjoyed it every time. The host is easy to contact and quick to respond, and she has made several updates since our first year including a new grill & new bedding. If you want luxury, you won't get that here. But if you want a clean, bright, and roomy place with all the necessities & a beautiful lake view, this is it!

My initial communication with the host, she came across very short and rude. She sent a payment request, and before I paid for it I verified with her that the dates were correct because it only showed one night. She said it was correct, so I paid it and she immediately messaged me that I did not pay correctly and still owed for another night. I kindly reminded her that I paid what she sent me and asked that we please fix it.
Next: we received a very very long message with check in/out info and rules. I understand the need to be clear with your expectations, but the message also came across as rude. I'm sorry if previous guests have caused issues in the past but you can't put that on all future guests. The message made me very uncomfortable staying that we might do something wrong and be charged extra or that we would be charged for pre-existing damage if we didn't notice something upon arrival.
Aside from the host, the house is just okay. The beds were not comfortable, and the AC is right outside of the wall by the Master bed.. it is very loud all night long.
The house was clean, but the floors were oddly sticky.
The lights on the pier worked, but the outlets did not so we were not able to clean our fish.
The driveway is extremely narrow and the grass on either side is not well kept. There was not enough room at the house to be able to turn our truck/boat around once we were in so we had to back the boat all the way out.
The freezer did not keep our food frozen

This home is surrounded by water! You can see the sunrise on one side and the sunset on the other! There is a bridge out so getting there takes a little longer but it is well worth the extra 10 minutes! With 3 bedrooms we each had our own room which was great for 3 women!

We were very happy with the property on the lake. It was very peaceful and quite. They had fishing gear and crab traps for us to use. The house very clean and very nice. The view was awesome! We will definitely stay here again when were back in Louisiana!!

My daughter and I loved our stay at the lake house. Sunsets and sunrise were gorgeous and the house had everything we needed. Well stocked kitchen with anything tou might need for home cooked meals. The beds and couches were very comfy and the ambient temp was easy to control. Close to restaurants and the grocery store but still felt like we were away fr it all. Definitely anaazing way to finish our week long trip to New Orleans.. i would stay again in a second. Communication with the property owner was great and I loved it!

1 mile from the boat launch. Caught fish at the dock and out in the boat. What a great weekend! House is set up perfect for camp style fishing, crabbing and relaxing. Highly Recommend to any nature/ outdoor enthusiasts and especially fishermen! Plan to stay here again in the future

Location was great, but inside needs some TLC- beds-linens definitely need replaced but views were beautiful and location worked well for our needs. Minimal amenities (pillows, towels, etc) no toiletries supplied (1roll TP). Bring drinking water. Great communication with property agent (keys weren’t in lockbox).

Great view of the lake had everything we needed for our stay. Easy commute to where we fished and restaurant plus stores. Overall 10 out of 10 would definitely stay here again and highly recommend to anyone who planes on staying in the Lake Saint Catherine area

We loved the camp! Beautiful view and has everything you’d need. Owner was easy to communicate with as well. The location going into NE NOLA area is a bit rough but still felt safe at the camp.

Property is exactly as described. Pics do NOT do it justice: the lake is literally right outside the back door & the large windows in the living area give you a beautiful view if want to stay inside to beat the heat. The property is very well maintained. Good water pressure in the nice, big shower. Master bedroom bed is a little "springy," lol, but we slept fine. No complaints about any of the other beds from my picky teen children either. The TV antennae picks up quite a few channels, if you care about that sort of thing & the wi-fi was fine with 5 of us on it. The owner was great to work with & easy to contact! Crabbing is much easier than we thought it would be, we caught quite a few with just turkey necks and chicken necks from the grocery store for just a couple bucks a package- don't waste $ on crab bait! Easy drive to New Orleans (roughly 49 min, but like a straight shot) & 15 min to Slidell. Will definitely book this house again if/when we are back in Louisiana!!

Clean and convenient
Cute and clean house convenient to Island Marina for our fishing charter. Only 4 adults in our party but house sleeps 10. With only 4, accommodations were good, but only 1 shower for 10 would be difficult. Internet was too slow so streaming TV service was impossible. House was great otherwise.

Peaceful location perfect for a family
We really enjoyed this property! Our teens enjoyed baiting the crab traps, harvesting crabs, and cooking them. Coming from the north central part of the country, we don't have access to fresh seafood. The lake felt great for a swim after a long day in the city or hiking. Kitchen has enough dishes and pots/pans for family meals. Love the location! Easy to slip over to Slidell for supplies. The bait shop folks were super friendly and helpful. Host was very communicative and helped fix the issue we had upon arrival. Beds aren't particularly comfortable, but the bunk house suited our needs well.

This property was just like the pictures shown. It was beautiful and clean, and the views are fabulous! We even caught fish right off the dock three days in a row. The beds were so comfortable and the kitchen was equipped with everything we needed. We had to contact the owner one time for a very small issue, and she had it taken care of within an hour. Overall amazing experience. Would love to rent this home again!

Fell in love with New Orleans
We really enjoyed our stay. The property was gorgeous and we used the pier everyday. I already miss sitting on the porch in the morning with coffee. Our only complaint is the beds were super uncomfortable. We ended having to share the full size in the spare room versus using the master bedroom because we sank to the center of the bed. Other than that, everything else was perfect.

What a neat place to stay. The owners were great with lots of advice on where to go. Super clean. easy ride into NOLA and Slidell, the stairs were challenging but worth it. Good exercise! Comfy couches, Keurig, lots of kitchen stuff, could have stayed longer! Tranquil and good wifi. Lovely lovely stay!

Weekend getaway
We had a great weekend getaway. It was the perfect spot to just relax, do a little fishing and crabbing, ending the day with some deck sitting with a breeze listening to the waves. Was able to trap enough crabs to end the weekend with a little boil. Looking forward to the next time!

My family and I had a wonderful time. The girls liked to walk around outside to see what they could find. It was so relaxing to listen to the waves. It was in great proximity to New Orleans.

Great stay on the lake!
We absolutely loved the house and were sad to leave! We were there on the 4th of July and enjoyed watching the fireworks from the pier. It was also close to New Orleans and Slidell so we were able to spend time in both areas. We would stay again if we were in the area!
