About this house rental
Ocean views and beach access in the much touted town. In the words of Sunset Magazine “The small surf town of Cayucos has remained miraculously immune to over-development for decades, despite its great wines to the east and white sandy beaches to the west”. Beach living surround by the rolling hills of country living.
Cross the road with the safety of a traffic light and access the minimally populated beach white sand beach, a surfing and boogie boarding hot spot for the locals (less than 2600 very friendly people). Multiple beach access points across the street or if you are feeling adventurous take the locals route through the large culvert directly across the street. Try the dog friendly beach directly to the south and walk to Morro Rock or take a Northward stroll to the pier. Beachgoers include kiteboarders, parasailers, boogie boarders as well as surfers. They share the ocean with frequently seen whales, dolphins, sea otters and tidal pool inhabitants. The coast hosts many species of sea birds including falcons, herons and pelicans; occasionally a bald eagle rests in the tree outside the master bedroom. Seasonally, monarch butterflies by the hundreds grace the eucalyptus behind the home. Fish the surf, build castles, fly kites or bask in the sun. Sunsets are a daily spectacle from the deck, dining room, family or living room… even the kitchen.
Cayucos is a special town devoid of the tourist trap feel. It hosts dining both formal and casual dining. Just 4 mile South is Morro Bay with “The Rock” with a full range of dining and shopping choices and a span of recreational options from deep sea fishing charters and whale watching to kayaking and paddle boarding. Locals enjoy the family owned and operated large theater with would beam ceilings and affordable snack options. Also available family owned grocers as well as traditional super markets
This home adjoins two very popular road bike routes: the coast route North or South on Highway One or up Old Creek for the serious athletes. Additionally, a popular neighborhood for walkers and runners as well as a hiking up the hill for meadow and ocean views. Bike trails are a couple of miles down the street if you prefer separation from cars. Walk a couple of blocks for the local dog park or continue on into town.
Day Trips:
• Northwest up the coast 24 miles to Hearst Castle and Cambria with quick trips up to the elephant seals (the docents are very informative and the seals the next best thing to a walrus) and moonstone beach.
• Northeast up Old Creek scenic drive 15 miles to the heart of wine tasting country.
• Southeast 18 miles to San Luis Obispo for old fashioned downtown shopping where you’ll meet the shop owners and your purchases will have even greater meaning. Not to be missed is the Thursday evening Farmers Market beyond stocking up on local produce, plan to eat at the many local food booths and enjoy the entertainment at every intersection.
• South 13 miles to spectacular views, hiking and mountain biking paradise of Montana de Oro State Park.
• Other area highlights include: Oceano Dunes, Pismo Beach, Monarch Butterfly grove, Avila Beach & aquarium, two California Missions, lighthouses, zoo, Paso Robles downtown park, a growing craft beer community, Great American Melodrama, Museums (including Children’s), water slides in Paso Roble and Lopez Lake and Lakes; Naciemento, San Antonio and Santa Margarita,
Community events include the January Bird Festival, incredible classic car shows, Cayucos Hometown Fourth of July Parade and Fireworks, Morro Bay October Harbor Fest, and the December Boat Parade and more events throughout the area including Jazz, Folk and Classical Music events as well as Open Studios featuring the large arts community. There is something for everyone, especially fun and relaxation!!
November 2016, a remodel replaced and updated lighting, kitchen, bathrooms, fixtures, faucets countertops, tile wood trim and flooring as well as fully redecorated. New linens, towels and completely restocked kitchen. Master has a king bed and large mirrored closet as well as nightstands and dresser, spare room has two twins or they can be joined and topped for a king size bed. Family/TV room adjacent to kitchen (kids can be close by but with a space of their own) has a queen murphy bed chest. Living room is beach living at its best with fine couches and nicely decorated space, great for enjoying each other’s company and that of friends. The views from living, dining and family rooms take your breath away. Fenced landscaped yard with patio furniture as well as a separate area for the spa.
Lots of extras including board games, beach towels and chairs, toys for beach and home, wine glasses, spices and condiments. Enjoy little niceties including a towel warming rack, farmhouse sink and I-Pod sound system.

Overall impressions was good. I would install a shower bar in the master bathroom. There was a lot of nice amenities that Jennifer had in the house and the book about the house was very informative.

This has been my favorite rental in the area! It was perfect for my family - great location, clean, friendly and communicative host, well-provisiond home! We were very comfortable there and loved the short walk to the beach! It was also a short drive to everything we wanted to do - CalPoly graduation, wine tasting, great restaurants, etc. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

We had a lovely stay and enjoyed the property. The kitchen was well stocked and appliances worked well. Appreciated was the full binder with explicit descriptions. I loved the tatted curtain in the master bedroom and the yarn covered hangers. My grandmother did tatting and my mother also covered hangers with yarn scraps!

The girls in my family had a great time celebrating my mom’s 70th birthday! The house was decorated very cute, it was clean and everything (including the beds) were comfortable! I only wish we could have stayed longer! The host was quick to respond to any of our questions and gave so much info in the welcome book!

My family and I stayed at the beach house for an extended weekend. The house was wonderful, with all kind of added touches to make our stay comfortable. We even brought our small dog with us and the owner provided clean couch covers so that we didn’t need to worry about the furniture. Jennifer kept excellent communication with us from start to finish. Cannot wait to come back and stay here again!

We had such a great time at Jennifer’s lovely home. The walk to the beach is short even with little kids. The house was comfortable and clean and in a great location. And Jenifer went above and beyond as a host. We hope to come back!

We enjoyed our weeks stay at this beach home. Very nicely furnished and decorated cozy home with everything you would need to prepare meals. We enjoyed barbequeing and relaxing on the deck facing the ocean. We got to experience a great winter storm which was fine, as we relaxed and did puzzles, watched football, enjoyed one of the good books available and played pool with the mini pool table in the Living room. Beds were cozy and the bathrooms were well stocked with toiletries, etc. Location is perfect to visit Morro Bay and surrounding areas. The walk across the highway was short to arrive at the ocean in minutes. Great location and beautiful home! Thank you for sharing your home with us.

This property has everything on our "checklist" and more.
- a view of the ocean
- walking distance to the beach
- dog friendly
- immaculate
Everything you didn't even realize you needed, heated towel bar, a well appointed kitchen, recliners and even readers! Every aspect of our stay was perfect and easy breezy. Even though the weather didn't cooperate, there was an ample supply of games and DVDs to keep us busy.
We throughly enjoyed our stay at this Cayucos property.

Everything about our stay was truly wonderful! Jenifer was so thoughtful with fantastic communication! We took advantage of the short walk to the beach several times each day, the hot tub was a nice treat and I slept better than I have in months! Our mini-pool tournaments and the beautiful sunsets/sunrises from the patio were especially memorable. Overall such a wonderful vacation! Thanks Jenifer!

Close to the beach, close to both cayucos and Morro bay but not right in the cities. The house itself was beautiful and the view was amazing! It even has a telescope to be able to see the dolphin pods that swim in the shoreline in the mornings.

Jennifer's home is exceptionally well provisioned, clean, and comfortable with a wall of windows overlooking the ocean and only a short walk to the beach. It sits on a frontage road next to Highway 1, so there is a bit of noise when traffic is occasionally heavy. A bike event along the highway was happening when we were there, and it was fun to sit on the balcony and watch groups of riders go by. We truly enjoyed our stay there.

Perfect spot for a fun girls trip close to downtown Cayucos, Morro Bay and the beach! The property had lots of “extras” so we had everything needed! Hope to be back soon!

We really enjoyed our stay in Cayucos! The home was perfectly located for walking to the beach (& dog park) or a quick drive to restaurants or the grocery store. There was enough room for the 4 of us and our dog to have time together or apart when we were at home, and we didn't lack for anything. The kitchen was fully stocked and there were movies that appealed to everyone when we were too tired from beach fun. We were really able to relax for a few days, which is exactly what we needed.

Every single thing about this house is thoughtful, tasteful, beautiful and welcoming. Jenifer is clearly a conscientious and accommodating property owner and her taste is incredible. From the quality furniture to comfortable beds to luxurious and plentiful linens to all of the artwork to the well-furnished kitchen, it is truly a lovely vacation rental. Additionally, it's a short five or so minute walk to the beach, one which we did repeatedly. Highly recommend!

We came up for my daughter's wedding. This lovely home had everything we needed. Beds were comfortable. Best of all we could walk over to the beach when we finally got some down time and listen to the waves at night. Thank you Jenifer for the lovely stay!

My stay was for two and a half weeks in July. The home is lovely, very comfortable sofas and beds! Our host, Jenifer went out of her way to accommodate us in every way,. Beautiful views of the ocean and whale watching! Easy walk with signal accross Hwy 1 to beach access. The sand is soft on Cayucous beach, lovely. Just a wonderful family vacation! Thank you Jenifer!

Perfect location for Cal Poly Graduation
We were in town for my niece's graduation and this spot provided the quiet, relaxing escape we needed during the hustle and bustle of the busy extended weekend. Easy to get to the beach for quiet morning walks as well as to Morro Bay for whale watching with the group and, of course, San Luis Obispo for the ceremony and celebration. A number of other family members were also staying in the Cayucos area and the town was a great place to gather - with the beach and restaurants, there was something for everyone.

Cayucos in June
The location of the property was perfect, great access to the beach and all local sights. The owner was very helpful and we were able to contact her when needed, The furnishings were a little worn and due for a refresh. We also would have liked access to park or car in the garage. Overall a good vacation spot.

What a great place!
Our family had a wonderful stay at Jenifer's place! As you can see from the photos, the space is beautiful - well-designed kitchen, multiple seating areas, huge master bath. But what you can't see are all the other things that Jenifer has done to make her guests comfortable - great beds, plenty of towels (regular & beach), reusable grocery bags, excellent house manual with suggestions for activities & restaurants & shopping, and a special dog towel & shampoo by the hose (yep, he rolled in a dead seagull). It's like she thought of everything.
I *highly* recommend this spot!

Best place to get away
The experience here was amazing. The house was beautiful and clean. The décor was relaxing and bright. I felt very calm and at peace in the environment.
We enjoyed cooking in the open beautiful kitchen, reading and relaxing on the comfy furniture, sleeping in the most comfy bed and enjoying the views of the ocean from our balcony.
We actually enjoyed our peace and surroundings so much we stayed another night and Jennifer was very happy to accommodate us.
The walk to the beach is very easy and enjoyable and our pup loved the place also.
Jennifer has added little touches of home that allowed for it to not only feel family friendly but also to feel like a true getaway.
We are looking forward to bringing our family back to share this beautiful experience with them. Thank you Jennifer!!!

Great Getaway
From my first inquiry, I received very quick responses which I truly appreciated. An instructions and things to do email were sent in advance and it included the code to the lock too. Prior to booking I asked if we could bring our small dogs and she said yes. We traveled with 2 couples and 2 college teens.
The place was right off of the freeway on the corner which was very easy to find. No problems getting inside. When you open the door you must climb stairs. We didn't realize the only way to get to the backyard was to go back downstairs and outside which was hard since we had the dogs, but we made it work. There was a middle gate that you can close off which was nice. The side with the bocce ball didn't have lighting so we had to use our cell phone flashlights to take the dogs out at night. The side with the jacuzzi had a security light that would come on when you walked past which was great. Speaking of jacuzzi, it was wonderful. It fit 4 adults perfectly and had jets and color changing lights. It was a perfect end to a day at the beach which was directly across the freeway. Sunsets were absolutely beautiful.
The kitchen was large, lots of counter space. It was very clean and had lots of glasses, plates, utensils, pots and pans, and even spices and other items you may need for cooking.
There was cable TV, wifi, a palm Christmas tree with lights, games, puzzles, books and even toys for entertainment. Lots of nice quality towels, bath gel, shampoo and conditioner, and lots of nice touches to the home. We didn't realize the owner lived downstairs sometimes but no one was there during our stay.
We didn't use the fire pit or BBQ but the swing chairs were nice and comfortable.
Overall, we would absolutely recommend this home for your vacation or a quick getaway. Go ahead and book, you won't be sorry.
