Not a winter getaway
Very basic accomodation with NO heating except for small space heater enough for one bedroom and fireplace. Fireplace didn't adequately heat whole house and not enough firewood supplied. Had to leave holiday early as unliveable with small children overnight. Contacted after-hours support with no reply. Disappointed. Would be lovely but basic accomodation in summer given access to beach. Overpriced for what you get +++

Beautiful location
Our stay was lovely. Great main living area. Main bedroom was nice. The bathroom arrangement is a bit odd. Could do with a few more heaters. Bbq was filthy and so was most dishes, baking tray…
The key security box was stuck so we couldn’t get the keys out. Called the agency and they told me to come get the key, no apologies! After a 12 hours drive with 3 kids, it was the last thing we wanted to do. When we got to the agency, the receptionist was aware the cleaners had issue with it! Still no apologies and we were asked to dropped the keys at the agency on our way out!

The Worst Experience
There were rat droppings on the open shelfs at kitchen area. Those poops we found are just next to plates and bowls. This is NOT ACCEPTABLE.
Overall cleaning was not good, there were spider webs on every corner. Baking trays were greasy, they were used but never washed. There were still food scraps on those trays. (I have all the pictures)
One of the rooms is NOT actually in the home, you need leave from main door and walk around 7-8 steps to go in that room (which is not written on listing). This was really strugling for us, because our friends was staying in that room and they had to leave their kid alone in this room while he was sleeping. In addition, that room had a very strong sewage smell.
There were NO fire wood left for us. We had to buy our own fire next day.
WiFi password was NOT working.
We stayed there as 4 families (8 adults and 4 kids) on the Easter long weekend (2022). I wish I never seen this ad and booked the house.
Don't waste your money !!!!

New Haven Shoreham
Loved this very rural house. Yes, there are leaves and debris but hey, this is why we go to the Peninsula. The outdoor area was wonderful. Dozens off chirping, tweeting, twittering birds in magnificent trees especially the very tall, old Cypruses that are a feature of Shoreham. You can hear the sea from the house. Loved it!

Tranquil summer holiday
Our two families enjoyed our stay at this beautiful bush block with a track down to the beach. We’ll stocked kitchen and comfortable beds were particularly appreciated.

our experience at newhaven
the property is beautiful and its location but our first 2 hours we arrived at the property we spent cleaning all entrances (front door, side door and back door) of leaves, sticks and mud that had not been cleaned for months.
we spoke to the property manager who said there was a windy week storm but the mud and composted leaves at the entrances takes more than a month to break down and turn to mud so that leads me to know that they have not been cleaned in as long.
there was no dry fire wood anywhere so we had to buy firewood also for the fire place as what was there was wet and did not light but smoked up.
and the smaller beds slats were broken or missing so one of the rooms could not be used and one of us slept on the couch.
once we settled in we made the best of the situation but i think whats needed is better attention to the overall cleanliness experience of the property and to make sure there is a dry firewood area (winter being so cold there) to keep the place warm and a check of all the bedding to make sure its useable.
i have photos of all the things i have pointed out and will be emailing the property manager,
overall not very happy and we don't mind paying for something nice and cosy but the small things and attention to detail was a big let down on this property.
lots of things that need fixing before i would let anyone else use this property.

Incorrectly listed as wheelchair accessible
The property was listed as wheelchair accessible. Upon arrival, we were greeted with two steps at the entrance, which were impossible for two of the guests to ascend without assistance. The rest of the house included narrow spaces and bathrooms that were not at all wheelchair friendly. I had to call the property manager to arrange for alternate accommodation. While they did their best and arranged something very quickly, the location was not as good and we were all rather disappointed. I guess it's a lesson learned that you cannot trust the accuracy of listings online.
