The house was furnished with love. It was very clean and very well equipped. The nearby tennis courts are an added bonus. The owner looked after us wonderfully and gave us valuable tips for excursions in the area. Places we certainly would not have discovered without her. We also visited the wonderful Glamis Castle. Thank you for your great hospitality, Gillian and Michael.

We had a lovely time staying in this spacious, well-situated cottage. Located on the quiet grounds of an estate, it was a great base for getting to Cairngorms and Trossachs National Parks, and for an easy drive to St. Andrews. The hosts, Gillian and Michael, were very helpful and welcoming, responsive to all our questions before and during and our stay, and gave great recommendations for beautiful hikes. Thanks for a great holiday!

Could not ask for more.
The property is delightful, light, airy, clean, beautifully finished and well provisioned.
We were working long hours and Gillian and Michael were happy to change all the heating and water settings to accommodate our odd working/waking hours.
Very much appreciated

Incredible Experience
Me and my wife and our friends had an amazing experience in Scotland for the Open Championship. The majority of what made this great was our stay at the cottage. The hosts were very communicative from the beginning of our booking through check-in and check-out. They provided us great recommendations for transportation, golf and restaurants during our stay. This cottage was a great location for getting around to the various locations of Scotland we were visiting on our stay. I highly recommend this cottage.

Cutest little cottage in beautiful surroundings
We had a wonderful stay in Dundee. The cottage was beautifully presented and super cosy, the log burner was a lovely addition We used on a couple of occasions.
We had a shorter than expected stay due to a family emergency at home but on contacting gillian she was super helpful and sympathetic with us leaving early.
While we stayed at the cottage the location was super easy to find, accessible for beautiful walks with our dogs and was great for accessing the city for shopping!
We would highly recommend this cottage for a relaxing break.
Thanks again to Gillian and Michael

Fabulous home and location. All you need for a relax holiday and good base to surrounding attraction
Stunning, clean, well equipped home with great gardens. Took our Westie who loved the walks in the area. For those wanting to venture out, local attractions nearby and owners have recommended places to visit. A particular favourite for us was Lunan Bay. Sad to leave and hope to return in future. Absolutely recommend staying here.

Beautiful cottage!
We had a wonderful, relaxing and comfortable three night break in this immaculate and well-appointed cottage. The owners had thought of everything and could not have been more helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. The enclosed garden was perfect for the dog (or younger child), and the extended grounds we're beautiful.
There are excellent and reassuring Covid-safe procedures in place.
Should we find ourselves in the area again, we will definitely return to this property!

Fabulous Stay
We've just returned from a fantastic stay at this lovely cottage. Our host Gillian was there to offer a warm welcome on arrival and provided lots of helpful information on the cottage and the surrounding area. The cottage itself was even nicer than the photographs, beautifully furnished, spotlessly clean and offering everything you could possibly need for your stay. The grounds are lovely and peaceful and ideal for walking. We even enjoyed a few games of tennis! Dundee and St Andrews with all their attractions are within easy reach too. We look forward to returning very soon!

Fantastic family Cottage
We are a family of 5 and stayed here for 3 nights. It was a beautiful location very suited to families. It is situated in expansive grounds with lots of space for little ones to explore and play. The cottage itself is brilliantly kitted out with everything you need. Gillian and Michael were wonderful hosts, really helpful and very generous with their time, they were there to greet us and to say cheerio and on the end of the phone to answer any questions even providing a little local knowledge to guide us. We had a lovely stay and only wish we’d stayed longer. We would thoroughly recommend this cottage for anyone looking for a high quality place to stay.

Stunning cottage and great location.
From start to finish we had a wonderful stay at West Cottage. The cottage is even more stunning than the pictures and everything is of the highest quality and very well equipped. The estate is beautiful, as is the surrounding area with plenty of scenic dog walks nearby. We found plenty of things to do within easy reach such as Camperdown Wildlife Centre and park and the town is only 10 mins away with many restaurants and bars. Gillian and Michael were excellent hosts, starting with providing all the info we could need in advance of our stay, including maps and dog friendly places to go and a warm personal welcome when we arrived. We would definitely recommend this lovely holiday cottage and it’s owners.

Found a little gem!
Everything about Westwood Cottage is fabulous! The owners answered any questions, gave detailed information and met us at the property to settle us in. The cottage itself is spacious, very clean and well maintained. It is tastefully decorated and comfortably furnished and provides all the home from home amenities you need. (Everything you can think of is catered for) Every room is a good size with some lovely touches in each room. It's the little things that Gillian and Michael have done that make this place special and stand out as a place you want to return to again and again. The location of the cottage is ideal for some R&R, perfect if you want to explore the local area and excellent as a base for travel further afield. We did a bit of it all while we stayed! My teenagers enjoyed the complimentary WiFI and Netflix. My puppy, on her first trip, enjoyed the large fully enclosed garden. Michael and Gillian have created a little gem and we would definitely return and recommend to friends.

Great Property
Stay here, it’s excellent. The owners are very friendly, helpful and attentive. The property is really well equipped, very spacious, comfortable and the surrounding estate is great to wander around.
And the garden area is pretty large and totally fenced in and you can leave your dog out there without worrying.
Cons: they’ve got a fancy expresso machine but no cafetière. And that’s about the only criticism I have!
Really great place for a get together. Couldn’t recommend it enough.

Lovely home in a nice quiet area, would highly recommend
Beautiful property on a lovely estate. Fantastic owners who were very accommodating and only a call away for any queries during our stay. The photos don't do the place justice and I can only imagine how lovely it must be in the summer. Lovely log fire and cosy home during our stay this winter, wish we could of stayed longer.

Fantastic weekend away
We were met by the owner who showed us around this delightful holiday home. The stunning cottage is on one level and is tastefully decorated and very well equipped with all mod cons, even a welcome pack for us! The walled garden is so peaceful and is the perfect place to relax. Our ages ranged from 16-80 and we all rated this cottage a 5star. Hope to go back one day!,

A perfect stay
Communication from the owners was very prompt and helpful regarding our initial enquiry and throughout the whole process. Michael met us on arrival at the property and showed us everything we needed to know about the house for our stay.
The house is beautifully furnished and fully kitted out with everything you could possibly need and the little extras and attention to detail makes it so homely. It is very spacious, all rooms being more than adequate size. It is situated in lovely grounds and is part of a converted Victorian hospital which is a beautiful historic building, great for walking the dog with no need to get in the car. The dog was also spoilt with two gardens to choose from, a big grass area or the pretty stoned enclosed courtyard with patio furniture perfect for sitting out in with a cuppa or glass of wine!
Location was perfect for us as we were attending a wedding in Liff but very easy access to Dundee and the surrounding areas.
Gillian and Michael were very attentive throughout the booking process to our arrival home. We will definitely be booking Westwood the next time we visit Dundee.

A 'wow' factor holiday rental
Firstly the owners of this property are so warm and welcoming. The information they provide about the property and its location is brilliant.
The property itself is much bigger than you think. All on one level, it was an ideal choice for us. We took our parents, 90 years and 87 years, so they had the ensuite double and coped very well during the stay. Two further doubles provided very comfortable accommodation for us and my brother. The main bathroom being well equipped and huge.
In fact all the rooms are very roomy with high ceilings and lots of windows so making the cottage very light and airy.
The kitchen/dining area is my dream. But my home does not have the space. It is very well equipped with everything you need for cooking as we did prepare most of our evening meals.
The cottage has a delightful courtyard with decking and garden furniture. It was well used the week we were there as the weather was great. Morning coffee, afternoon tea in the garden - what a treat! An added bonus was the wrap around grass back garden that our dogs so enjoyed. Yep this rental is dog friendly. The owners have a dog so understand their needs too!
The cottage is part of a Victorian built hospital/sanatorium in its own grounds a few miles out of Dundee. It is a delight to wonder about the beautifully kept grounds and see the lovely
individualised properties. However I thought Gillian and Michael's was the best of course in terms of its quiet, secluded location and being near to the entrance/exit of the complex.
The last time I was in Dundee was 45 years ago so of course the town has changed. It has become a tourist attraction with the V&A, Discovery Centre and Verdant Mills - all very worth
visiting. Dundee is also surrounded by wonderful rural scenery and historic towns such as St Andrews and Arbroath. With our dogs we found some excellent walks along beaches and in woods. They too had a wonderful and exhausting week.
Gillian and Michael thank you so much for letting us stay in your lovely home. We hope to return in the future and thoroughly recommend this property to anyone should you want to visit this part of Scotland.

Lovely cottage and estate
Booking experience was made easy by attentive owners.
On the day, Michael showed us round telling us everything we needed to know as well as places to go nearby.
The cottage itself was very clean and immaculately presented, The bread chocolates and graduation card for our daughter was a lovely touch.
The cottage is part of a large old hospital estate conversion and has been done very well. Although attached on both sides it is very private in both the front patio garden area, which is also a sun trap, and the rear landed area. All rooms are very nicely designed and just perfect for a family group.
The estate is really nice to walk around and the tennis courts for estate residents use are of very good quality.
This place ticked every single box for us and will definitely try and book again for son's graduation in 2 years time!

Wedding Weekend
With family made up of 3 couples.
Met up with Michael who introduced us to the home and then spent a pleasant weekend at a wedding with the home as a base. All our requirements were met in a well appointed very clean home. Recommended.

Westwood cottage Liff
We had a lovely stay in Westwood, the location was perfect - really close to Dundee with all it's attractions yet it felt we were in the middle of the countryside. The cottage itself very well equipped, it was spotlessly clean and had all the facilities we needed.
Gillian and Michael were great hosts - communications were excellent from the point of booking right through to wishing us a safe trip home. We were there to celebrate a birthday and our hosts kindly left a welcome pack including a birthday cake and card, this was a really nice touch.
I would recommend Westwood cottage to families looking for a good base to explore this part of Scotland and equally to groups looking for a relaxing break.
