Place is beautiful. Great ocean view with sunsets. Centrally located very near beaches and close to hawi and waimea towns. Close to great restaurants. Outstanding hosts who even provide snacks at check in. Peaceful and quiet neighborhood. We will definitely stay here again.

I loved Mitsuko's space. It is beautiful, peaceful, and a short drive to many gorgeous beaches. Most important, Mitsuko is kind and considerate and I felt completely at home and safe there. Also, we really appreciated the beach gear - big towels, snorkeling equipment, umbrellas (yes, you'll need them) and beach chairs. Thank you again for wonderful hospitality.

Thank you, Mitsuko for being a great host and with a wonderful place to stay along the Kohala Coast on Big Island in Hawaii. She was most helpful and accommodating in our communications. Her place was better than expected with fabulous views of the ocean and volcanos. We most liked watching the sunsets from the multiple outdoor and covered lanai spaces. The location was good in proximity to many fine beaches and funky seafood bar restaurant in Kawaihae.
Her studio apartment felt cozy and private. The hosts were graciously quiet living above. It is beautifully landscaped adding much color and bird song. It was very clean and neat upon arrival. The large sliding glass doors with screens provided good air circulation and wonderful views from inside as well. The kitchenette was well stocked with equipment for light cooking. The unit was well equipped for beach activities.
We would happily use Mitsuko’s place again when visiting the NW part of the Big Island. Highly recommended for those seeking comfort, quiet and outstanding views. Cheers….

My husband and I stayed here at the very end of our two week trip to the Hawaiian islands for our 30th anniversary! Wow! It was so beautiful with the view of the ocean in the distance and with all the flowering bushes and trees in the garden right off the porch.We loved it here and wished we could’ve stayed longer! Our hosts Mitsuko and Curt were so gracious and told us they weren’t expecting any guests right after us and we could take our time checking out and let us come back after going to the beach,which was well after the check out time, to shower before heading to the airport! Thank you so much Mitsuko and Curt!!!

The good news is this property has amazing views, including Hawaii's famous sunsets. The bad news is we found cockroaches in our unit. Being concerned they may travel with us to our next destination, we cleared out first thing in the morning without staying our second reserved night. We would have left immediately upon finding the bugs but there was nowhere else to stay in the immediate vicinity. Secondly, the only entrance to the unit is through sliding glass doors that cannot be locked except when inside the unit. There was no security for our belongings when we were not present. Finally, if you want a place away from everything, this is a good option but there is nowhere to eat. There were literally only two options for dinner on the Saturday night of our arrival. One place had no openings for three weeks, and the other had a live band with a cover charge. We were two weary travelers just trying to get a bite to eat. We immediately communicated with the owners when we found the cockroach. (They live above the rented unit.) We told them we were leaving in the morning. They claimed to have never seen bugs. We had to scramble at the last minute to find a place to stay on our last night on the Big Island and of course had to pay a huge sum for a last minute booking. The owners refused to provide any compensation for the night we did not spend in their unit. While you may enjoy the quiet and the view, beware of the bugs, security, and the owners. Oh, and bring your own food.

Situated high up the slopes of the north end of the island; from the porch one can enjoy a panoramic view that includes sea, both Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa, and all of the Kona coast. The studio is located on the lower level of a private home, and the hosts are most generous with little snacks, and in our case even first aid!
Nearby are Spencer Beach, and an interesting ancient temple, other beaches along the north coast where whales can be seen. The town of Waimea has many restaurants and a farmers market mid-week. Kitchen is basic so don't plan on cooking any gourmet meals, just enjoy the peace, and watch the birds!

Comfortable little studio, in a quiet neighborhood with an awesome view! I would recommend bringing some mosquito repellent. Other than that everything you need is there. We had a great time!!

The studio is exactly what we were hoping for. We had wonderful views every day and the hosts were extremely nice and helpful. One little remark: the kitchen is rather small (which we knew in advance). So it was nice being able to cook at least some pasta, but if you are planning on cooking extensively then this might be the wrong place. If you are not planning on doing so, we can only highly recommend staying here.

Large lots, very dispersed houses, great walking, dark enough for great stargazing and sunsets. Very clean with a nice ocean breeze at about 1000’ elevation, so the breeze was nice and cool. We will be back to this property. We’ve stayed in numerous locales on the big island and this beat them all.

Our time spent here was really nice. It is a good location….close to beaches and was a close to Hawi….which was a beautiful drive. The bed was super comfortable, the beach equipment was really convenient. We were a little concerned because all the doors didn’t lock, but the neighborhood seemed safe and we were able to use the broom handle in the sliding door.

The perfect beginning to a visit to the state caring, concerned folks who helped guide us here late at night; a view that is incredible, sleeping with all the doors and windows open, absolutely quiet. A time to cherish.

We are looking forward to it
Beautiful, quietly located apartment with great views of the garden and direct views of the sea. The apartment was basically clean, only one shower towel was dirty and certain pillows on the sofa inside and outside had small stains.
The communication with the hostess was impeccable and cordial. We even received a small breakfast from her once.
The apartment is about 40min from Kona, the nearest larger town Waimea is about 20min by car.

The studio is small but the wrap around lanai and the floor-to-ceiling garden/ocean view more than made up for that. Wireless worked fine, a/c was nice, bed was comfy. We appreciated all the linens in addition to beach towels and very nice beach chairs. The location was great for us -- a little isolated (in a good way) but close to our favorite beaches and snorkeling spots on the north Kohala coast.

Mitsuko and Curt are wonderful hosts who share not only their fabulous home(pictures do not do this property justice), but snacks, experiences, local recommendations for beaches and restaurants.
This area is centrally located to Waimea, Havi, and South Kohala beaches.

We stayed here the last two nights of our 10 day trip to the Big Island. We arrived just after sunset. The views are expansive and the wrap around lanai was so welcoming. There were strong winds that evening and it felt great! The following morning I just I didn’t want to leave it. I agreed to go to breakfast but wanted to spend the day in the quiet of this place with the amazing views and the fragrance of their trees and flowers. We ordered from the Seafood Bar for dinner and had coconut shrimp on the lanai! Watched the sunset and the moon rise. Perfect last night and only 35 minutes to Kona Airport in the morning.

A wonderful location between Hawi, Waimea, and the beaches of Hapuna and Puako. Our hosts were warm and generous, and we made good use of the masks and snorkles available as well as the beach chairs! Recommended! And I didn't even mention the views...

We loved the peacefulness of Mitsuko’s studio. It was very relaxing with sweeping views of the ocean and just a short drive to the beach. It was a great spot to explore the top of the island from.

Small studio perfect for our needs. My husband and I stayed three nights while spending days at the beaches. We ate breakfasts at the unit and the microwave and small fridge were all we needed. It was very tidy and clean, the bed was comfortable, and it has a nice deck and gorgeous views. There is an air filter/purifier with a fan that we ran at night with the sliding doors open and we were comfortable. The owner let us check in early and had beach chairs and an umbrella out for us so we could head to the beach which we appreciated. We would stay again. Thank you to the host!

Expansive 200-degree view of ocean, mountains and hillside at 755 ft ASL! 40-ft wide lanai. Super quiet, nearest house hundreds of feet away. Host provides very convenient items, like drip and french press coffee makers, swim, snorkel and beach supplies. Very relaxing stay. We'll be back.

I LOVED staying here! We stayed at 4 different places across the island and this was by far the best. Very clean, quiet, and relaxing. Lots of really nice amenities like beach-going gear, lots of towels, soaps, and even snacks! The view is beautiful (not just of the ocean but on clear days you can see the top of Mauna Kea!) and you have access to an outdoor patio with different places to sit. Really lovely hosts, would absolutely recommend staying there.

Lovely rural location with stunning views over the ocean. Quiet, peaceful, clean, comfortable, quality bedding and towels, bed comfortable, seating inside and out, and plenty of room to park car. Hosts welcoming and helpful. Clear arrival instructions, although a bit hard to spot house number in the dark. Portable air-con unit too noisy to leave on at night, but also has tower fan and 3 opening doors with insect screens, so possible to get good sleeping temperature at night.
