We were all very happy with the set up and accommodations. It's a good property, in a great location. The price was fair as it needs some general updating. We were very comfortable and it was well stocked. Hot tub was very clean and heated up quickly.

Great location! Visited 3 resorts and had a great time. Nice home to go home to. Communication was awesome, they allowed us a late check out so we could ski half day. Amazing trip!!

Excellent property, enjoyed the hot tub. Keep in mind this is two separate appartments that are not connected by an interior door, which we didnt realize until we got there. I believe it tells you that in the listing but we missed it. Despite that, it was still great with plenty of room for everyone to congregate in the main area.

Great vacation. Here are the pros and cons.
Pros
Location, location.
Carl- Very accommodating and prompt
Pet friendly
Fits two groups
Fairly priced
Cons
Outdated w70s vibe
2 separate units w no indoor connection. Description says it fits 12 - confusing.
The main kitchen is the size of a matchbox with virtually no counter top space.
Pot&pan selection is adequate although old. It needs a Teflon coated pan! The fridge was completely empty so bring EVERYTHING including condiments. The spice selection is OK. There’s a rice maker, toaster & microwave. The old oven pans need replacement. There are no storage containers. The hot tub, TV and fireplaces worked.
One teeny tiny bedroom upstairs w bunk beds had no storage whatsoever.
The downstairs unit is nice and roomy but we wanted everyone together upstairs for meals and socializing:)

This location is great for skiing both canyons. Space is a bit dated, which made it feel not perfectly clean, but it was clean. Slept our family of 11 very comfortably. We would stay again.

First, the location can not be beat! For our first time visiting in the winter, getting to Snowbird/Alta was better than expected. It should be more clear in the description that the two units are NOT connected. This made it difficult to split between two families as the main unit is bigger than the basement. There wasn't a separate thermostat downstairs and it did get cool (there is a gas fireplace). While there are 12 "beds", that would be a tight squeeze in the given space. 8-9 is more realistic. The teens had a tough time in the noisy bunk beds and we had to shuffle around. The house was fine but could use updating - the dark colors and rugs in the dining, living areas and bathroom make it feel not as clean as it could be. The appliances were similar and the downstairs washer broke while we were there. Carl was very responsive in coming to check on it but after it broke a second time it stayed filled with water. The hot tub was ok but the water was definitely not changed between stays as described in the check in sheet. Most hot tubs probably aren't but it was noticeable. The unit overall was one of the most affordable for its size and given the location I would still recommend it but know that there are some compromises.

The house was so perfect for us!!! We had our family of adult kids with us- the lower level made it great for us to spread out after an amazing day at the mountain. We had everything we needed and felt right at home. We can’t wait to come back for more ski adventures!!!!

We had a great stay in Cottonwood Heights! The condo was perfect for two families (4 adults & 4 teens) - plenty of common space and enough bedrooms that everyone had their privacy. The proximity to all of the ski mountains was ideal & having a hot tub to soak in everyday was an added bonus.

Great for multi-family getaway
Overall the property is great for 3-4 families but the condition of the interior needs TLC - bedspreads (downstairs), pillows, toaster, dishes and hot tub. The foundation needs work - both downstair bedroom at the wall there was moisture coming through the walls. There is no interior staircase - exterior only.

Perfect Mountain condo
The condo was perfect and exactly as described and seen in the pics. We were surprised to find out that it is actually two units with separate entrances. But had the rest of our group come it would’ve worked out better for the two separate families. We stayed just upstairs and it had everything we needed!

Amazing Location - Highly Recommend
Beautiful location and spacious property with two separate units. We stayed in the main floor unit with our baby and the sitter stayed below for ultimate privacy while we enjoyed the area.

Overall, this place is not terrible and the hot tub was actually hot. The location is prime and easy to get to. The owner communicated well and was fairly responsive. As a group of five adults, we did not have extremely high expectations. We encountered a few issues that I want to mention. We were quite disappointed that the units had no indoor stairway access to each other. We originally booked this under the belief it was one unit. We were just a little confused and bummed when we got there and realized our group wasn’t all together. We likely would not have booked this type of unit if we knew the units and bathrooms were all separated and we had to go outside in order to access each unit. Nothing was mentioned in the description about the only access you have to the “upstairs bathroom” is to go outside and enter a totally separate unit. It may be ok with two family’s, with a smaller family staying in the downstairs unit.Additionally, we spent the first two days attempting to fix the Wi-Fi. We unfortunately can’t get that time back that we spent trying to fix it. I was appreciative that the owner was extremely responsive and helpful and went well above and beyond to get this fixed, however in the end it still cut into our limited vacation time. For some reason, there were only a few trash bags in the entire place and we ended up having to go out and purchase our own trash bags and handsoap which did not seem right to us. The grill didn’t work unfortunately. One of the flames lit but the other two did not, causing the grill to never to attain the proper heat. This resulted in us not being able to use the grill to cook. So don’t plan on grilling anything. The oven seemed to work. There was an issue with the downstairs unit’s fireplace. It made a loud noise each time it was turned on. We could not use it at all during our stay. After spending the first 2 of our 5 days on the wifi and cable issue, we felt that it was not ideal to continue to use our remaining time dealing with these other problems. I let the owner after our return about these issues (and some other problems not mentioned) and he refunded $100 for the supplies we had to purchase, but mentioned he would not do anything about any of the other issues. On a positive, the owner allowed us a late checkout, which was really nice. I would probably go back, but not for the amount of money that we paid and only with a lesser amount of people (less than 5).

Had a great time. Very close to alta and snowbird, which helped us avoid weekend traffic. Hot tub is nice to have as well and internet is fast.

Great stay, epic ski conditions
This was our second stay at this property and we just loved the location near both big and little cottonwood canyons. You have a full view of ski traffic right from the kitchen!
Carl was responsive to feedback and requests for the most part. Bedding (pillows and linens) need replacing but aside from that, we had a great week.
We would rent again!
2.5 / 5.0
We stayed here for a month in January, had a great time, and ended up extending our trip. I would describe the home as thoughtful, comfortable, and good value. Carl was very helpful with all the things you might run into with a longer rental. There are numerous hiking/running trails within walking distance, so it's a great base for exploration. Be sure to bring traction devices for snow/ice. It's about 35 min to Solitude/Brighton and 20 min to Alta/Snowbird, so that's pretty ideal as well. 1-2 hour drive on a pow day though. We were really happy this home was pet friendly. We brought our goldendoodle, and he loved the fenced yard especially when it snowed. There's a good trail to walk dogs 5 minutes south down the road on the right. Note: dogs aren't allowed on many trails in the area due to watershed restrictions. When we weren't outside, we were working from home. We had plenty of space to set up home offices with folding tables we borrowed from Carl. I would recommend buying or bringing your own office chair if you plan to work. Internet is very fast. Hopping in the hot tub after a long workday was great, although there is some road noise so not as peaceful as being out in the woods. Views of the hills and city from the living area/deck are pretty good. The master bedroom was very comfortable, dark, and quiet so we slept well. The master shower is a bit small, but plenty of hot water and good pressure. We had a some friends visit us for a few days, and it worked out really well to put them in the downstairs unit, while still socializing upstairs. The kitchen is well equipped and had all the spices, pans, utensils, and plates we needed. Appliances all worked well. The house was clean and in order when we arrived other than a few minor things that we took care of.A few things worth calling out: As mentioned in the listing, this home has two completely separate units. You have to go outside to get to the downstairs unit. However, they do share a common HVAC system that's controlled from upstairs. The garage is VERY small and we weren't able to use it for our Tahoe. The entry is not very high and the parking space is not very deep.Good places to check out in the area:-Smith's for groceries-The Lifthouse for ski rentals and gear-Little Cottonwood Trail, Ferguson Canyon, Bell Canyon, Quail Hollow, Dimple Dell for nearby running/hiking-Antelope Island, Fifth Water Hot Springs, Lake Blanche, and Stewart Falls if you don't mind driving

I believe over all we had a great time. Parking was tricky at times.
I do wish we'd know that the property was not ADA compatible. And before my husband and I got there, our kids, who got there first found cockroaches and we found a few more a day or so later.

Great spot for skiing SLC
Convenient location though our trip was disrupted. The rental was great for our family. Our only surprise was that there are no interior stairs from upper and lower unit. This only matters if you have young kids. The owners were nice and helpful. We had a good experience!
