About this cabin rental
Feel like you are in a 'tree house'...yet have a private double deck dock in a private cove! Whether you are a house-boater, skier, fisherman, sightseer, sunbather, or water sports lover, Norris Lake has it all. Norris Lake was created by the construction of the Norris Dam in 1936. This hydroelectric project was the Tennessee Valley Authority’s first. The lake’s beautiful blue-green waters span more than 800 miles of shoreline covering 34,000 acres. Norris’ boundaries extend up the Clinch and Powell rivers which feed Norris with clear, pristine waters. It’s an ideal environment for sportsmen and vacationers alike.
STAIRS ALERT: Please be aware that there are 250 +/- steps from the cabin to the dock (and back up again!!). Well worth the effort to get there and back, but we like to be sure our customers know this before committing to the rental.
This home is situated in a beautiful cove on Lake Norris. It has 2 bedrooms and the basement is a bunk area/game room. The upstairs has a king size bed in one of the rooms and the other room has a queen size bed, one full bathroom with shower/and tub , separate private hot tub house, porch, stairs to the dock, basement area with couches and three twin beds, with an extra twin mattress under one of the beds. There is high speed internet and Roku TV's in both upstairs bedrooms, in the living room area, and in the basement bunk room. Washer and Dryer are downstairs.
Enjoy the beautiful wildlife, private setting, swimming, boat slip, jet ski slip, lots of lounge chairs, fishing.... all you need to relax and 'get away' from it all!
Closest marinas by car are Whitman Hollow Marina and Indian River Marina, and by boat--Whitman Hollow and Sequoyah Marina is closest. Boat rentals are available at all three of these marinas.

Property was very nice, secluded, and peaceful. Steps to the lake are just as owner described...steep and a bunch of them. Beautiful setting!

Loved the private dock on a private cove on a beautiful lake. The 259 stairs are no joke, but well worth the climb for the great time on the water.

The home was cozy and the dock well kept and a wonderful place to hang out! Chuck was amazing even though I messed up some dates! The stairs are no joke, but having access to the lake made it worth the trip. Thank you!!

First trip to Norris Lake, and it did not disappoint! Such a clean, clear lake with perfect temperature for boating and floating.
The house/dock is in a small, very quiet cove with few other properties. Kids and adults alike enjoyed jumping from the second story deck. The dock is perfect for shade and sun, fishing and floating. 10 minute boat ride from Whitman’s Marina, which we’d highly recommend if you are looking to rent a boat. Very helpful and knowledgeable staff that made it easy.
The stairs to the dock are no joke! The first day, we took 40 at a time, regular pace, then took about a 30 second pause and resumed and repeated, and even those who were in great shape found them difficult. Switched up our strategy and took a step about every 2 seconds and then made it up without any pauses. Slow and steady is the way to go! And we enjoyed quick dips in the hot tub after the climb. Be very careful when the stairs are wet, though! After a full day of storms, with no sunlight to dry them, they are very slippery. I took a small spill down a few but luckily caught myself before going any further. Plan trips up and down wisely and make sure you don’t forget anything!
The house was a good size for our group of 6, though I think any more would be tough with only 1 bathroom. We lost power one day and water another, but both were only for a few hours and Chuck was very responsive and quickly communicated with utility companies to keep us updated.
Great trip, will return!

Had an absolute blast staying here with my family. The stairs to the dock can get taxing but totally worth it. I would recommend renting a boat (we did) it was so much fun going tubbing.

Perfect place to get away on Lake Norris. The stairs a little daunting and can be slick but the property was very clean and private!

Very pleasant escape away from the regular grind. It was very secluded, which is what we were looking for. The driveway was a little tight. Would love to spend a week here in the summer as well.

This property was so peaceful and relaxing. Definitely a lot of privacy since there are no close neighbors. The dock was amazing and we spent a lot of time there. The hot tub was huge and fit all 5 of us just fine. Chuck was very nice and helpful and responded extremely fast whenever I had a question. Check in and out was very easy and simple. I will definitely be adding this to my list of vacation homes to return to.

As others have stated, good and bad, it was all true.
Yes, there are 300 steps to the awesome, private, & fun 2 story dock ever! However, I was surprised at how quickly we acclimated to them! One thing to note: There is an inflatable kayak and tube on the deck to use. SO FUN!
Something I would suggest, is to bring some camp chairs for the firepit. Otherwise, you'll have to drag some off the porch and they are quite heavy duty.
WE ENJOYED EVERY MINUTE! (Well, except that our youngest granddaughter lost her glasses while on the deck!!) We all agreed it was one of the best times we've spent as a family. We will definitely stay again!!!

We really enjoyed our stay. The house had everything we needed, but we spent most of our time down at the lake. The dock was fantastic and we had a blast jumping off the top. The hot tub was huge and was great for winding down at the end of the day. Cove was beautiful and quiet, even on a holiday weekend. We were very happy with our stay.

We had a great time at the cabin. Had everything we needed. The dock was awesome and it is on the best cove I’ve seen at Norris.
There are a lot steps but we managed just fine, even with our 2 pups they did great. We knew exactly what to expect. Host was extremely nice and accommodating.
4.7
The property was great for having a boat and the house had everything we needed. Just as it states those stairs are no joke but we planned accordingly and had big coolers of ice at the dock and brought what we needed for the day. The dock was great and I loved that it was in a cove pretty much by itself. Great host.

Perfect location and very private. You have the whole cove to yourself with the exception of a few boaters from time to time. The dock is amazing and provides plenty of entertainment. The water is gorgeous and a beautiful emerald green color. The house is exactly what a lake house should be. Has everything you need. The steps are fine going down but as everyone says they are brutal going back up. We packed for the day and made sure we only had to go up them once each day which worked out fine. Roads going to the house are very twisty so take Dramamine if you are prone to motion sickness as well as for the floating dock. We had a wonderful trip!

The good....the swimming spot is the best we ever had. The dock and swimming spot are tremendous and the bright spot of listing.
The bad.....the walk from the water is unbearable. It was a struggle for everyone in our group. If you have children or belongings to carry up it's worse. 245 steeep steps is the most we've ever had renting on Norris lake. We wouldn't do it again.
The ugly......the house is in desperate need of repairs. Two of the three sliding glass doors were not working. The hot tub leaks and would not shut off. It rained and water came in the basement and got some of our belongings wet. The basement isn't as finished as it appears in pictures. The dinette chairs feel like you are falling through them. One of the people found the mattress in the basement to be so bad they slept on the couch. The tray that holds silverware in the dishwasher has holes in the bottom and silverware falls through. No kitchen towels or rags. House is older and needs updates and repairs.

Cabin was wonderful! The owner was ver responsive and couldn’t ask for a better location.

The location is wonderful, away from other houses. Very quiet with lots of bird’s singing. The access to the water is perfect.

If you want seclusion to relax this is it. Steps are many but worth the effort. Quiet cove and awesome deck.

Would be a great place to summer vacation. The weather could have been better for our March stay but we made the best out of it. Would have loved to lounge out on the dock all day, just not in high 30 to low 40 deg temps. Would love to plan a summer trip here.

Just a wonderful cabin in the beautiful woods. Dock was awesome with everything you would need. The stairs were fun and a conversation piece. All smiles from us. Beautiful lake with great marinas close by. Sequoyah marina was our favorite with Whitman dock up next.

Great nice place in a cove

I've stayed all over Norris Lake and this is one of the prettiest coves + has an awesome dock to hang out at. It was worth the 250+ stairs in my opinion but is not for everyone, so be aware, bring tennis shoes, and pack for the entire day before you head down! Everything was clean and well stocked. Hot tub has it's on separate building and quiet spacious! Being pet friendly was a huge plus. The tree canopy at the house makes you feel like you're in a forest and we even saw a few deer during our stay - it's a secluded/private area. The only thing that would have been nice is power closer to the dock. You'll need 350' of extension cords to reach the dock from the house.

Our family enjoyed our stay.

Awesome Dock
We really enjoyed our stay here. The area is very peaceful and secluded. The dock is the best part and worth the trip up and down the stairs. Chuck was responsive and an awesome host. Would definitely stay again.

TREE HOUSE
This home is in a beautiful spot, you can not beat the location on the lake, its in a cove and its so pretty.
The trees surrounding the home is so nice also.

Excellent Lake Front Property
Had a great time with family and close friends. The dock is absolutely amazing. Be prepared to walk the 264 shaded steps up though. The house was just as described and Chuck is very tentative to messages.

Secluded cove on Norris.
We took home most of our food and other supplies since this house came well stocked. The stairs down to the dock weren't as challenging as the reviews suggested, until you decided to climb back up. Yet that daily climb was a little adventure each day! No problem for the 20-30 crowd, the 50+ crowd will have to take a couple of breaks. We loaded up the boat with all our dock gear and saved hauling it all down and back up.
Our host also provided many games and books. We brought our own of course but it was nice to see them available.
Our only complaint was the fireworks and wrappers in the yard from the 4th. There was stormy weather prior to, and the day of, our arrival and that may have been the cause of the inadequate cleanup outside. The house was neat and clean tho, and this was the only reason we didn't give 5 stars across the board.
We found out this was the last property before TVA lands. If you want to be away from the "build up", this secluded cove is for you.
Thanks very much for letting us stay. We had a great time and hope to return.

Fun week with the family
Nice location in the cove on Big Creek. We had a fun week and plan to come back to Norris soon. The water is crystal clear 10 feet down.

Last family hoorah before college
The property is gorgeous. The host keeps in contact and leaves you a basket full of goodies. The stairs are tough but it's in the listing. After a week stay I'm ready to tackle them with ease. The 2 story dock is gorgeous and so much fun to hang at. Highly recommend staying there.

Nice Peaceful Cove
This property is the perfect location if your looking to have your own space. Not a lot of boat traffic and nice area to swim. Perfect cozy housing. As long as 1 trip up to the house in the evening is all you need.

We had such a wonderful memorial weekend here and lot of family came to enjoy the floating dock and double decker pontoon we rented with us. We ALL had such an amazing time! The steps are very difficult but when you get to the bottom the floating boat dock makes it all worth the while! Honestly you don’t even need a boat to enjoy the lake here! I hope we can come back again one day!

We absolutely loved the hot tub house! The steps are truly no joke. We counted on the way up, and there are 334 from lake to house deck. Our stay was very peaceful - Thank you!

If you are looking for a "middle of nowhere" vacation spot, this place is perfect. The house had plenty of room for our family to spread out. The owner was very friendly and we found everything that we needed (and more). It is a pretty serious hike up/down the stairs to the dock, but well worth it. We really enjoyed the hot tub and the fire pit. It is a 20-30 min drive to anything (grocery, attractions, restaurants) so just make sure you have what you need before heading in for the night. We had a great experience!
