Loretta was a fantastic host; communication with her was very easy and she responded quickly to our questions. She was friendly, helpful and provided excellent information. The house is exactly as portrayed in the listing. It is in a very quiet residential neighborhood where walking around was comfortable and safe. There was easy parking in the driveway and street for our vehicle. It was a fairly short drive to the center of Portland, and there is also a bus stop only a 5 minute walk from the house. The house was well equipped with plenty of linens, kitchen supplies/dishes, dishwasher and a washer/dryer. Outside space was very nice and private with a deck on the main level and a patio on the lower level; perfect for morning coffee and an evening glass of wine. There was plenty of seating for our group of six in the living room (two couches and a chair) and around the dining room table. The bedrooms were all very roomy and comfortable and it was great having three full bathrooms. All in all, this is an excellent house for a medium sized group and I would absolutely stay here again.

We were in Portland to attend services for a family member. The location of the house was perfect, it's close vicinity to the PDX was a plus as we made numerous trips to the airport. House is well stocked for a large family. Hosts are very prompt to respond to any questions/issues and friendly. A comfortable place to stay!

This house was perfect for our multi-age family group in Portland over the weekend for a family event. The beds are comfortable and house met our expectations in every way. We never had the need to contact the host during our stay—a rare thing in a short-term rental.

This rental was a great home-base for our family get-together.
Excellent overall. Two suggestions: some instructions on adjusting the thermostat would be helpful. The front stairs leading from the street and driveway up to the porch are dangerous. Coming from the street it would be very easy to step off onto the steep stairs leading up from the driveway. My parents are not too steady on their feet and I was always worried about them on these steps. I would recommend two simple improvements: 1) a hand rail on the Division St. side to guide people away from the drop off and make it safer on the stairs, and a 1 foot wide barrier opposite the hand rail to prevent pepole heading towards the house from stepping off onto the driveway stairs.

Beautiful, clean home
Lovely home - stayed with a group for a wedding and there was plenty of space and beds.

Beautiful and Spacious
We do not know Portland but Loretta was SO helpful in responding to our every question about distances to various venues with quick responses. As for the house - very clean and well decorated. Seven individual adults were in the house and we all felt like we had some private space.

Clean and Comfortable
Very nicely updated home in quiet neighborhood. 10 minutes from airport and 20 minutes to downtown. Great for Uber. Train station less than mile away. There is a manager next door. The neighbors are friendly and visited with us on our nightly walks. They said they like the rental and sharing Portland with people from all over the world
Comfortable beds and linens. Lots of pillows. We used the pack n play which was set up for us before we arrived.
Internet was fast, Smart TV. Kitchen had everything we needed for the one meal we did prepare. So many great places to eat in Portland. There’s a coffee shop called Coffees On nearby and house has drip and French presses.
Would stay here again if our plans include Portland.

Loved this home. Would definitely stay here again.
Everything about this home was perfect for our mini family reunion of 11 adults. Many amenities, very clean and organized, comfortable beds and the different levels allowed for privacy and quiet, but the main level was very open and had plenty of room for everyone to gather. It was also convenient to seeing the sights of Portland. I would highly recommend this home!

Great home for a large group!
The home was a perfect stay for our group. It was clean and welcoming. We had plenty of space. It was easy to get to our meetings and to explore Portland.

Open floor plan and comfortable sleeping arrangements
The owner was responsive, house was clean, tv was easy to navigate, nice neighborhood despite the surrounding area of town, comfortable, overall great place to stay!

Great for large groups!
Great for large groups. Neighborhood nice but compact. Surrounding area can get seedy if you go the wrong way. Homeless camp near highway on/off Ramps but not aggressive. Typical of Portland in general. Easy highway access. No real yard to use. Guests not welcome. Loretta very responsive. Lots of outdoor cameras and listening doorbell. Would consider again IF we had a large group.

Excellent for a family group
We rented this house for a family gathering. The house is in a quiet but convenient neighborhood. It has been completely remodeled and is very appealing—great kitchen and living room, comfortable beds with nice linens, and plenty of parking The host and the manager were very responsive when a couple of minor things came up. We would definitely stay here again.

Great for large group
We had a comfortable stay for our group of 14 (8 adults, 6 kids ages 5-12). Loretta was prompt and responsive from the time of booking through the end of our stay. There was a leaky shower situation- Loretta immediately had that addressed. I appreciated that at check-out, all we had to do was lock the doors and leave. Great amenities, would recommend for any other large group.

Fantastic Home
Our group of 10 enjoyed staying at this beautiful home. Split level living was great for the kiddos to play downstairs while the adults enjoyed visiting upstairs. And there are 3 bathrooms and plenty of hot water! We took the train to downtown, the station is a mile away. And the bus on the end of the street is a 2 minute walk. Lots of parking. Quiet neighborhood so our sleep was restful. All the mattresses were comfortable. Kitchen fully stocked, there are even 2 coffee makers and 2 French presses! Immaculate clean.

Worked Perfectly for Us
We stayed with five colleagues on a week-long business trip. There were three bedrooms upstairs that shared the Master bathroom (it opens to the bedroom and hallway) and two bedrooms downstairs with a private seating area and bathroom allowing a good private separation for the three men and two women. The third bathroom was off the kitchen. The open kitchen layout was perfect for when we wanted to work, dine, or just hang out.
The house was very clean and well maintained and quite comfortable...it felt like home. The owner was quickly responsive to several one-off questions we had. The neighborhood street was well-maintained and quiet. It was also an easy drive to and from the city.
The City of Portland, not the owner, has rules about using the deck and quiet time in the early hours, (and providing names and addresses of occupants) but this was not an issue for us, given the purpose of our trip.
It was the perfect financial alternative to five hotel rooms over the course of a week. If a similar opportunity arises, we would not hesitate to rent this house again without even trying to search for a different house.

A beautiful house!
Comfortable, clean. Perfect for families. Comfortable beds. Lots of space for everyone. Love the three full baths! And it was really clean.

Very nice home in fair condition
The house and bedding were exactly as promised. The kitchen appliances are modern and nice but the contents of the kitchen are not in very good condition. Many things are in need of repair. It's a comfortable home if you don't mind velcro noise every time you sit on the couch. When requested the manager did provide 3 dish towels and one handy wipe for cleaning the kitchen. Also upon request we were provided some additional towels aside from the single towel left on each bed and single bath mat let in each bathroom. If you are considering renting this property and are at all sensitive to fragrances I would recommend that you let the manager know prior to arrival. The lower lever which was perfect for our cousins reunion was infested with ants which the manager says is typical for the area. This is a very nice home but could use some sprucing up if it wants to retain its 5 star rating.

Perfect 5 BR house
Yearly reunion with college friends. The house was comfortable and quiet. I rent vacation homes pretty often, and what I particularly appreciated about this house was the separation between the upstairs bedrooms, the main floor, and the downstairs bedrooms. In most vacation homes, somebody is inevitably disturbed by activity elsewhere in the house, but in this house, our sleep schedules were unaffected by our housemates. I will definitely try to rent this place again if my travels take me back to Portland.
2.5
I hosted a group of ten, for an annual reunion of college friends and roommates. We are all in the fify-ish age group. We loved how quick and easy it was to visit the Columbia Gorge and downtown Portland. The quiet neighborhood the house was in was just fine. The home is split level so be aware there are some stairs involved.
All the amenities were great. We had ten people pulling pretty hard on the wi-fi at some times during our stay and the connectivity was fine. The SmartTV also let us enjoy some YouTube videos besides to what cable had to offer. The Kitchen had plenty of pot and pans. The dishes all clean and quality. The appliances were in great shape.
We were disappointed that the upper deck off of the great room was off limits. The owners gave us plenty of notice that there was a problem. If was a typical Portland rainy spring day we would not have missed it. But was a perfect weekend weather-wise, so we kind of missed being able to enjoy the deck. If this was for the safety of the guest, this was a positive for the property owners, in my opinion. Hand rails or decking have been dangerous in others properties we have rented over the years. I prefer safety.
The only criticism I have is that would have been nice to have more extra linens. The beds had been made when we arrived. There were just enough blankets and sheets for the number of guests renting the house. A few of us were chilly and wanted to throw an extra sheet or blanket on their bed, but we could not find any to use.
We had a special needs person in our group. who left a bit more of a mess behind for housekeeping than was appropriate. We did not catch the problem ourselves before checking out. Shame on us. Loretta (the homeowner) asked me about the mess. When I explained, she was understanding. She did not charge us for the extra clean up time we caused them. That is hospitality. Thank you Loretta.
To wrap up. This neighborhood is not "Weird Porlandia". It is much more of a "Brady Bunch" kind of family neighborhood. (Yes, I watch too much TV sometimes.) Yet, if you want a nice quiet home to stay in. It is only 15 minutes from the airport. If are willing to bike, drive or walk a quarter mile to the Max station "Weird Portlandia" is only minutes away. AND you are within an hour or two of the Oregon Coast, Wine Country, Mt. Hood, the Columbia River Gorge and Mt. St. Helens by freeway. We loved the home. Thanks again to the Spahmers for being such great hosts.

Exactly as advertised and the perfect size for our group of 13. Great, safe neighborhood. Cannot recommend enough!

Dated appliances, small rooms, uncomfortable beds. Location was not great, far from everything. Would not stay here again, no way.

I rented this house for a family gathering, and it was pretty perfect. The large open dining/living/kitchen area easily held all of us for meals and general hanging out. The design of the house with the split levels meant that the bedrooms felt very private and away from the common areas which was great. My only comment would be were all fine sharing the bathrooms, but if you are looking for bed/bath suites or private bathrooms, this is not the place for you. The house was beautifully decorated, clean, very comfortable, and close access to freeways. I would say a car is helpful, because while the neighborhood is great for taking a stroll, it is not in a trendy area of town full of restaurants and pubs. Loretta was very helpful, we had an issue with the furnace and she had a friend drop by a bunch of space heaters until she could make it to the house to sort out the furnace issue. We would rent the house again for another large family gathering.
2.5
This house was perfect. I was in a friends wedding, and we decided to rent a house instead of getting hotels. It was very spacious and just a overall nice place. We all felt very fancy staying here, but it was also very comfortable. We all had a great time. There were tons of places to sleep, and lots of things in the house to use. We hardly even ate out, because we decided to cook most of our meals. Loretta was very quick to respond and very helpful. I would highly recommend this house for any sort of occasion!
2.5
We had an amazing, relaxing weekend at this house! The house was clean and clutter free. It was super easy to get in the front door with a code. We did not have a need to contact the host much, but when we did, Loretta was super responsive. We did NOT notice the hosts picking up or dropping off their farmer's market supplies on Saturday or Sunday - so that was no problem at all.
The kitchen was pretty well stocked with pots and pans - we were able to cook a large brunch without a problem. The large dining table was perfect for us! We had 12 women sharing the house, and there was plenty of space for all our stuff.
We ordered pizza once (Pizzacato doesn't deliver to the house, but it is good pizza nearby) and thai food another night (they were so nice and they delivered, but I can't find their name...). After all this plus cooking and some drinking we generated quite a bit of trash. We would have liked to help out more if we had had extra trash bags or access to the city garbage bins to take our trash and recycling directly out.
We used uber to get everywhere easily. We rented bikes from Cycle Portland Bike Tours and went on an amazing custom made ride! Our friend planned our course: ride on the waterfront, over hawthorne bridge, thru eastbank esplanade, to the Night Light Lounge, The Side Street Pub, Laurelhurst Park, Burnside for East Burn, over the Burnside Bridge, and back to the bike shop. It was INCREDIBLE. I highly recommend it!
This house was perfect for our group - 12 women who were mostly family. We didn't need the downstairs kitchen, but just a heads up that one of the house rules is that you NOT use the downstairs refrigerator. (This might concern a group that is two families traveling together wishing to have separate kitchens. )
2.0
This house was large and well equipped with standard items you would need. We had a group of 6 traveling for business. It was a great house for us to each have separate rooms and plenty of bathrooms. Everything was clean and well maintained. However, it's not in the best area of Portland. I would not recommend this location if you want to walk to restaurants, shopping, events, etc. You will need a car to get around town if you stay here.

The house was very nice. Beds were comfortable and the home was very clean. We were very close to downtown which was very convenient. We needed more than one garbage sack for the garbage can and had to buy some. Other than that we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend staying here. Home owners were very easy and nice to work with!
2.5
From the start, Loretta (owner) was excellent in ensuring all questions were answered quickly and providing information for our stay.
Stayed with a large group of friends (11 of us - age span 2 yrs to 65 yrs) - the house suited our needs perfectly. We made breakfast together then spent the day exploring Portland. 15-20min to downtown depending on traffic and route. Very conveniently close to 205 freeway. Lots of amenties (restaurants, groceries) close by. Also close by to Mt. Tabor - a lovely park for kids and runners (we are a run club). We enjoyed the gas BBQ for our evening meal - wonderful breeze flowing through the home while everyone lounged around the living room. Fully equipped with cooking utensils and dishwares. We had to buy a kettle for tea - but we left it for the next visitors (paying it forward). Rooms were very clean and comfortable and the A/C in the home provided the perfect temperature for excellent sleeps. Layout of rooms in the house provided just the right amount of privacy needed for each person of our group.
Will we be back? - absolutely yes, already planning for next year!
2.5
Great house, more space than expected, in beautiful condition, well furnished and clean. It is in a quiet suburban neighborhood, pretty close to the neighbors, so wouldn't be good for noisy groups.
Tip 1: Owners Alan and Loretta own a grassfed exotic animal ranch, so we pre-ordered beef roasts, yak ribs, and ground buffalo stocked in the freezer. They have a smoker out back that works great, and the meat is delicious. Highly recommend for BBQing.
Tip 2: I think that it is the #4 bus that runs just down the street. This is great for getting to the parts of the city where there is a lot to do. There isn't a lot that you can walk to, however, and it is a $30 uber to the airport/downtown, so plan transportation carefully.
