Property was clean and area was quiet. Enjoyed our stay in spite of the fact we had less space than we'd planned on. When my husband booked and paid for the reservation, he was under the impression he'd reserved the entire unit. Also, the garage doors in the photo of the outside of property led us to believe that we could use the 2 car garage. When we arrived and couldn't find key under mat as instructed we knocked and found people staying in the unit. Several messages later Holly called me back and let us know we'd only reserved half of the property and walked me thru gaining entry. A bit disappointed as we expected a 4 bedroom and got a 2 bedroom. Expected to park in garage and instead had only half of driveway and minimal street parking available. Holly was personable and kind and I don't think the ad was deliberately misleading but I'd recommend making it a bit more clear. I also think the price was entirely too high for just half of the property and no garage - based on other rentals I've stayed at. We had to pivot as far as sleeping arrangements but we were happy to have a place in the area and ultimately had a wonderful time.

This location was a relaxing surprise in the city. As advertised I walked to downtown Walnut Creek each day for shopping and meals. Check in was a little difficult and the address if the property were not provided as compared to other VBRO stays I have had. I would stay at this location again if I had a need to be in the area.

Our stay would have be fine except I thought I was renting the whole location but only had one part of it. My rental agreement said I was renting the "Expanded" bungalow with 4 bedrooms etc. However, when I got there it turned out I only could use one of the two units. Even after looking many times at the listing, it was confusing and unclear as to why I ended up with the unit I did. Be sure you contact the owner by text or phone to be sure of what you have.

This is a really cute property and a great location in downtown Walnut Creek. It had two bed rooms, one with a king and one with two twins, so it was perfect for our family of 4. The space was exactly what we needed on our trip to see family.
Holly was easy to work with and communicate with once we were there. She kept us posted on the check in process and gave clear instructions for arrival and check out. She brought us a hand soap when we realized there wasn’t one in the bathroom and was very responsive over text message. The communication through the app was a little slow.
The property was clean and there was a laundry room on site. There were ants in the kitchen because a prior guest had left BBQ sauce in the cupboard. I notified Holly and she apologized and addressed. There was a beautiful backyard garden with a small patio too.
The location was amazing, with an easy walk to a park that was great for small kids and very walkable to restaurants and bars in the area.

Gorgeous Creekside Carmel style cottage. Within walking distance of the Iron Horse, Trail, Shoppes, restaurants, the library and festival the local theaters .

This property was adorable! It felt a little like the house from the movie UP being wedged right in the middle of 2 higher rise apts. (ps. one is under construction, so there is unavoidable construction noise). It is actually 2 separate rentals so just make sure you are aware of this. We were so this wasn't an issue at all. Unfortunately the furnace went prior to our arrival but Holly did her best to outfit us with 3 electric space heaters. At times it was still a bit chilly but there were plenty of throws/blankets to stay cozy. Holly is very easy to communicate with; just make sure to contact her directly and not via VRBO messenger. After check in, we never had any reason to contact her but I could tell from our initial meeting she wanted to make sure our stay was pleasurable. My husband and 3 kids loved staying here and exploring the neighborhood. Super convenient location to visit friends in Moraga and family in Mill Valley. Thanks Holly!

Well equipped kitchen, comfortable bed & furnishings, perfect proximity to Rossmoor. Only after we’d signed a non-refundable rental agreement for a week’s stay were we informed that the furnace was not working and the cottage would be equipped with portable radiators. Outside temperatures were in the upper 30s-low 40s at night. We cranked up the radiators to high when we were there to make it comfortable. The listing says there is central heat.

I really enjoyed our stay and enjoyed the fact that I could work over the internet, while my wife and daughters ran about town. Since it is walking distance to food, I didn't need a car. :) We had a great time and enjoyed our stay.

We loved our stay!! This cute cottage is a hard to find gem in
a great town. Walkable to downtown Walnut Creek and in the evening, if you are outside on the patio, you can hear the local bands playing (in a good, not loud obnoxious way). The host was great to work with, making fun suggestions and following up in a timely manner. You will not want to miss an opportunity to have this cute cottage as your home base on your visit Walnut Creek.

1)Although the check in was for 4 p.m., we did not receive a response from the owner even after several attempts to contact her. We left numerous messages. When she finally responded, she said that she was busy with too many emails for that day and told us that we could pick up the key which was left under the front door mat at 5 pm.
2)The property was listed as 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms under the section titled “About this rental” BUT if you read the description that follows, it says 1 Bath. This is very misleading and should be corrected to reflect just the 1 Bathroom. Please make this correction to the property as this is incorrect and misleading information for potential guests.
3)In the kitchen, there were too many leftover items like coffee, and hot cocoa powder that were expired and left for guests to use in the kitchen cabinets. There was also a bottle of oil in an unlabeled mason jar – no idea what it was or when it was stored there! The all-purpose flour had expired on January 22, 2022. Hershey’s Hot Cocoa expired in 8/2021. There were many other bottled sauces that we did not explore.
4)The large clock in the living room had no purpose as the batteries were dead and had not been replaced from the time, we checked in.
5)The laundry room outside of the main house was not organized and we did not want to use any of the items as they were in disarray. The mini fridge was icy-frozen!
6)Once we had access to the property there were no clear instructions on where the WIFI information or password was and we had to figure it out on our own since the owner was already taking too long to respond to our earlier calls regarding the key.
7)We were also unaware and not notified by the property owner that there was massive construction going on to the multi-level property next to this property. We had to keep the blinds shut all the time due to the noise and number of workers at the site.
8)On the day that we were to check out, once again all of our messages were not responded to. We finally had to send a message through the VRBO site to let her know that since she never responded, we would leave the key under the front door mat. There were no clear instructions on where to leave the trash/recycle bags that we had cleaned up from the house. Until this day, the owner has not responded to our final message regarding the return of the key! We will NEVER AGAIN use VRBO! Set up a proper set of instructions to welcome guests. Throw out expired food!

Proximity to restaurants and activities for children is excellent with this house. Maybe a little bit difficult to do much in the way of food preparation but that was never a very high on our agenda.

It was very nice and very convenient to everything.
Next time we visit out there, we eill see if this place is available.

Perfect cottage for us. Very clean. Holly was lovely and responsive. Beds were comfy and we enjoyed hanging out in the living room. WiFi a bit spotty at times. The location is unbeatable and we really could not have asked for anything more. We would love to stay here again when we come back to town.

Holly's cottage is adorable! Love the original 1930s character of the home. Beautifully tucked away in a charming setting right in the heart of bustling Walnut Creek! Cute backyard with lovely landscape to relax or read. Walking distance to shops, restaurants and bars. Two key points to note, there are two cottages so make sure you reserve the size that accomodates your needs. Second, parking is limited to one space in driveway. Off street parking can be a challenge for a second vehicle or visiting guests due to restricted or no parking. Overall, our family had a wonderful stay and look forward to future visits!

This property is a duplex and convenient to Safeway. We occupied the unit in the back (#2). It provides direct access to a deck that was pretty and relaxing. It is on a busy street but the unit was quiet and secluded. The bedrooms were nice size and everything was clean and tidy with plenty of linens. The kitchen has a new refrigerator and stove/range and was well equipped. The listing is a bit confusing. Unit #2 has the king size bed and a second bedroom with twin beds. There is space for parking one car in the driveway.

We enjoyed our stay in Walnut Creek and the location of the condo was perfect for us. Will definitely stay here again. Thank you for the hospitality and responding quickly to our questions. Our suggestion would be that you write the details for parking, front door, laundry room etc... on a sheet that is left in the condo.:>)

My husband and I stayed with our son and his family in unit 2 - 4 adults and 2 young kids. The kids slept in the twin bedroom, we slept in the king bedroom, and our son and wife on the sleeper sofa. We prefer places with character and we loved this one - built in the 30's backed by a park, quiet, but a few blocks from downtown Walnut Creek. It's small and cozy with a nice layout and a lovely backyard (though we were here for Christmas so weren't able to be outside). We cooked a lot and the kitchen is well-equipped. Also, there's plenty of seating, unlike some other places we've stayed. It had a few little quirks but the owner responded to a text right away.(Email responses to my communications before we arrived took a few days.) Street parking for an extra vehicle was tight but we always found at least one spot nearby. We would definitely stay here again.

I loved the homey atmosphere of this rental property. It was a great place to relax after a day of shopping or sightseeing. Close to great shopping, restaurants and the BART while being in a nice quiet neighborhood. Can’t wait to go back!

This charming cottage is located in a quiet area right near downtown Walnut Creek. It is walking distance to stores, restaurants, and the BART. It is located on a quiet, safe street and even has a lovely little garden in the back. Our family of five enjoyed all of those aspects of our 7-night stay. There are a few areas that need attention in this lovely cottage. The first is the plumbing. The one toilet in the unit has a habit of plugging. We had to use the plunger several times. The kitchen is not suitable for preparing a meal for more than two people. It is outdated at best. There were not enough chairs for five people to sit around the table. One of the chairs is sagging in the seat. The white towels need replacing as they mostly all have stains. There was a funny smell in the cottage. We bought Fabreeze plugins to mask. Finally, the door lock is quirky and should be changed.Holly was friendly, but initially hard to contact. She is not very quick when communicating through VRBO. When we were on our way to her rental but had no check-in instructions and tried to call her phone number, she didn’t pick up and her voice mailbox was full. It took a while to figure out that it is best to contact her by texting her phone number. Since she left no information about the rental either inside the house or on VRBO, there was some confusion about what she wanted to be done at checkout. I felt bad that we couldn’t comply with her checkout requests that she made after we were already on our way to the airport. Some clear instructions inside the rental or on VRBO would be nice. Despite all that, we did enjoy our stay. The place is cute and the location is great. With a little TLC, it has the makings of a perfect rental.
