About this apartment rental

Charming lakefront building built in 1903 as a boys gymnasium, converted into 12 separate apartment units in the 1950's. The 2 bedroom unit, located on the ground floor facing the lake with spectacular views. This property sits on a spacious lakefront lot, in a residential neighborhood.

This ground floor unit includes two bedrooms and, 1.5 baths. The master bedroom has a connecting powder room and a queen size bed. The second bedroom includes a full size bed. The main entrance and dining room are sunken, so there is a step to access the kitchen, living room and hallway.

The fully equipped kitchen includes a gas stove, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, dishwasher and a fridge.

The patio, directly outside the front door faces the lake. A bar with stools is set outside on the patio for you to sit enjoy coffee or wine, while watching the sunrise or sunset.

Kayaks, paddleboard and canoe is provided for your use.

There is a coin operated laundry facility on site. Laundry supplies are available. A community barbecue is also available for your use, except it is closed during the winter months. There is a fire pit by the lake, you will enjoy relaxing by it, roasting hot dogs, making s'mores. This along with the dock, and bbq are for community use, our guests and our tenants.

The dock (for guests and tenants only) is yours to enjoy the lake for relaxing and swimming.

This is an older building where we have permanent tenants that also live on the property. During the summer our tenants and their guests enjoy the facilities provided. Please be aware if you book you are sharing the common areas and especially during the summer do not mind people having fun on the lake. Again, this is an older building.

The dock, and the common areas are shared by the tenants.

We were vacationing in the Olympia and Seattle area and wanted a place where we could spread out more than in a hotel room and a place where we could make meals. We saw your property on Vrbo and thought it would be a great place for us. It was perfect for our needs. The amenities were great. We enjoyed the kayaks, the games on the third floor, and the balls and tent were perfect for our 13 month old toddler. We would definitely stay here again if we are in the area.

We really enjoyed our stay. We had a minor hiccup upon checking but it was rectified in a matter of minutes. The lakefront was calm and peaceful and very scenic. We enjoyed the rare treat of northern lights!! The accommodation was well appointed and spacious and had everything we needed. My mattress was enclosed in a plastic case which was a bit strange and crinkly but didn’t interfere with my sleep. Having the extra half bathroom was much appreciated and the caretaker was kind and thoughtful. Would definitely stay again.

Interior of location was well furnished. The exterior could use some maintenance. Water hoses were left scattered on the walkways and landscaping tools and cleanup debris left on trail to the lake. Great location just needs more oversight for safety.

Outdoor space is just terrific. Indoor could have gotten an excellent review if not for lack of detail that made the stay less than fully enjoyable. Coffee maker was very dirty and no filters were provided. Coffee provided seemed fresh enough but the container it was in was just nasty. After trying it once we ended up going to Starbucks everyday at $11 a day. Adds up. Beds were comfortable but the pillows were kind of flat and need replaced. There was an obvious hole in the sheets on one of the beds. Shampoo and soap was provided in large plastic pump bottles which we really don't like. I wouldnt mention that except the shampoo pump bottle was broken and didn't work. Shower curtain was not connected to almost half it's hangers and there was somebody's glasses hanging from it. Not a big deal but suggests to me a lack of attention to detail when cleaning the bathrooms. There was misinformation in the email that gives check in and general property info. More attention to detail and we could easily give this place an excellent rating but as it was we couldn't help feeling disappointed.

We had a wonderful stay. The unit was perfect for us. The view is beautiful and the sunset view is just stunning. The weather was a bit chilly for the kayaks so that will be on the to do list for the next time when we come during the summer.

Flew in from New Hampshire for our daughter's Army school graduation. 10 minutes from Chambers Bay. 10 minutes from JBLM. 30 minutes from Sea-Tac airport. We couldn't have been more pleased with this property and the host (Ron). The appartment has the best spot on the property. Walk out your door to a beautiful lake, fire pit, and other activities. Our daughter had a pass for an evening, so we got to spend a night out at the fire pit... just perfect! Grocery store is just down the road, which was perfect for quick grocery runs to cook in the fully stocked kitchen. Kitchen is updated. Highly recommend! Thank you!

We enjoyed our stay here. It is an old building but the location and lake view was fantastic. We didn't have time to stay and enjoy the lake that much, but just looking out the window for a short time was refreshing enough and relaxing. I would highly recommend this place and would love to stay again if there's a chance!

Amazing view of the lake and the property is very well taken care of. Host lives right above the apartment and is very nice. We loved being able to enjoy the lake and BBQ afterwards. Apartment is spacious and bigger than I expected from the pictures. Apartment is secluded from all the others and you open the front door to the lakeside. Would definitely recommend to stay here!

this is a great place to stay that's local. The property is tranquil, and its on the lake. The property manager is right on it...if there is anything you need, he makes sure to provide it. My family will be booking this every year...the nephews and niece's love it.

We enjoyed our time here. The property is located in a beautiful spot and close to everything you need to do. It was a quiet and enjoyable stay for a nice getaway. The only concern I would bring forward are the stairs in the kitchen. They are awkward and quite frankly unsafe. We did experience a fall backwards so please be careful.

We really enjoyed our long weekend stay. The location is beautiful. Very quiet. Facility is nice. We would definitely stay there again. My husband enjoyed trout fishing each day and limited within 1.5-3 hours trolling in his kayak.

This place is a hidden gem....who knew you could find a lakefront property so close to home. The property is well furnished and the lawn well kept, even the property manager rocks!!! There are plenty of floaties, life-jackets, etc. all for the little ones to enjoy....and all the decks and firepit and outside areas for the adults to enjoy. The lakefront and dock cant be beat, and the water is perfect for everyone to swim...not too cold. My family will definitely be returning, and if you have out of town guests, they will thank you for referring the property. this place is the perfect staycation if you live in the King/Pierce/Thurston county area and just need to get away.

This property is situated on a beautiful, clear lake. There's a fire pit, grill, table, canoes and kayaks. Very nice. The inside could use a deep cleaning.

Our stay in this lovely lower-level apartment of a huge 12 unit house was PERFECT for a weekend runaway. Although it was close to the city life of Lakewood - once you were at the water, the world around you ceased to exist. The permanent residents of the complex were VERY hospitable and welcoming. We are planning on coming back again sometime this summer!

Loved the lake and the views, the property was great. Unfortunately, we all got sick upon our arrival and didn't get a chance to do much. But that gives us an opportunity to come back and visit again, perhaps in summer!

Great communication and accurate description of property amenities. Easy check in/ check out. Property is looking a little tired/ worn. One of the toilets was leaking water into the bathroom. Cleaning was okay- bathrooms were clean; kitchen stove certainly could have been cleaner. Closets had random things in there like broken table legs and a pack and play piled in a heap instead of neatly folded up and put away. Overall the stay was fine but a little more attention to detail would improve future stays. Lastly, the adjacent property had loud parties on both Friday and Saturday evening- I don’t hold that against this property as you can’t control neighbors but it did make sleeping difficult as the walls were thin and the partying was right outside of the bedroom windows.
