Girdwood is a small outdoor and skiing community located 30 miles south of Anchorage. Home of Mt. Alyeska and Alyeska Resort, Girdwood is the perfect place to spend your Alaskan getaway for skiing, snowboarding, fishing, hiking, and exploring south-central Alaska.
The Girdwood Valley Guest House is nestled in the trees with privacy, yet close enough to all amenities. The property is less than 1.5 miles to Girdwood Town Center and less than a mile to the Ski Day Lodge.
The house includes over 4,700 square feet of living area, along with multiple decks, hot tub, and EV charger. The large family room includes a large 4K Roku TV with Klipsch surround system, poker and pool tables, and a Bowflex adjustable weight bench set. There is a formal dining area, breakfast bar, wood stove, large custom kitchen with stainless appliances, three full baths, and a large laundry room. Each floor includes a Bluetooth TEAC / Curtis Mathes Vacuum Tube Stereo System. Beautiful original oil paintings throughout the house by Eugene Daymude, Charles Handford, Edmund Blouin, James Kendrick, Robert Rucker, and Collette Pope Heldner. As well, there is a garage large enough to park your vehicle and store outdoor gear. Enjoy the stellar views of the Girdwood Valley from the large windows in the living room, dining area, and from the deck.
House includes HD YouTube TV and best available Wi-Fi in Alaska (GCI RED).
The house is stocked with shampoos and conditioners, soaps, laundry detergent (Hypoallergenic Ecos), toilet paper, paper towels, condiments, dressings, popcorn, flour, sugar, cooking oils, vinegars, spices / seasonings, etc. The house has coffee stations in the basement and on the first floor that are stocked with coffee, tea, sugar, Truvia, Sweet 'N Low, and creamers.
Please note this is a residential neighborhood, loud parties are not allowed! As well, a maximum of the three cars at the house at one time and no parking in the street.

Thanks for letting us use your great house for our Cook Inlet fishing trip. House was even better than last time. Love the game room and new hot tub for relaxing after a long day on the water. Coffee and breakfast on the deck is to die for. We will definitely return.

We chose this property based on location, as it is just south of Anchorage, and closer to the Kenai, Seward area. The location felt isolated and remote, (desired) but was very convenient for our itinerary. The house was very clean and spacious. Highly recommend this property!

We've stayed here before. Somehow even nicer than last time. The new hot tub was great and there are even two more rooms now. Will be back for the ski season with friends, highly recommend. Great place for couples (us) and groups of friends (also us).

Our family of five (including one grandparent, and two kids) stayed with another family of four, and this house was PERFECT! The house has everything you need - comfortable beds, great sheets, stocked kitchen, BBQ, it's all there! Only thing to understand is the location, it's only a mile to the center of Girdwood. We were hoping to ride bikes into town, and a mile would have been fine, but it's steep =) I didn't translate the snow removal comments into that. This is a great place to stay, but you will need to drive into town. Highly recommend!

The views from the house are amazing. The Kitchen was well stocked and we had everything we needed. We had three family with us and the three levels made the stay enjoyable for all the members of the families. We only had one hiccup and that was we did not know how to take out the trash. We contact the owner and he had it taken care of right away. Overall, it was a great visit, the host was great and we would stay there again.

Loved the house. All 4 rooms had king size beds so no fighting over who got bigger beds. House fully stocked with bathroom items and kitchen items. Had a great time and centrally located. This house was perfect!!

Some friends and I rented this house for our stay. We were able to use it as our base for doing some fishing down the peninsula and just being a tourist. Great place to relax, enjoy Girdwood and cook. Beautiful house, we will definitely be back. Thanks

The house was nice and it’s close to the ski slopes. Property manager was great! However, it is located high up in the neighborhood and the road wasn’t maintained during our entire stay. We were unable to drive up to the house and had to park in neighbors drive and walk up the road to the house for 3 of our 4 night stay. We did speak with the owner regarding this who confirmed it’s supposed to be plowed and graveled each day and he would call to make sure it was done. It never was. We also sustained damage to vehicle due to the unmaintained road. All and all, way too much stress for what it was worth and what we payed. I did request a partial refund due to being unable to access the house except by foot and the owner declined as “he doesn’t control the roads”. So if you stay here in winter, make sure you have a vehicle that can drive on steep, icy, unmaintained roads.

We had a blast staying at the Girdwood Getaway! It is tucked away from the action of the ski hill, but is close enough for easy access. The home had everything we needed for our stay, and the kids loved the games room. The big surprise was the luxurious ensuite off the Master Bedroom! Highly recommended as a place to unwind!

We stayed here on a ski vacation with a large group of adults and had a wonderful time. The only problem was that some cars could not get up the road to the house as it was quite icy. The house is well-appointed and we appreciated the garbage pickup midweek. Too bad there isn't any recycling in Girdwood.

One of the highlights of my trip to Alaska was the quality of this cottage. I visited with a group of 6 other adults and there was plenty of room for us all to spread out. The hot tub was very clean/new, the view from the balcony was spectacular, the kitchen was well stocked and there were plenty of games to keep us busy.
Aside from the quality of property, I also want to emphasize the effort that the owner/manager put in throughout the rental process. From the moment I booked my stay, the line of communication was open for whatever I needed leading up to our visit. The rental agent was very flexible at making sure our group was taken care of regardless of what we might have needed.
Overall I couldn’t have chosen a better place to spend the week at while skiing around Alyeska. If I ever have the opportunity to visit this part of the world again, I hope that I could stay here again!

Fantastic place to stay to ski and play with family for the New Years holiday! Whole house is well maintained and very clean! Only minor suggestion is to remove cobwebs in upstairs master room. We only discovered after a few days into our stay but were too high to deal with, otherwise so nice! Thank you!

We stayed in this awesome house and completed some upgrades in the basement for the owner including a new bedroom, gym, and conversation pit couch in the game room. The work came out great and we really enjoyed staying here again. Thanks and we’ll be back for the ski season!

This is our second stay at this beautiful property. Girdwood is a beautiful place and this property is a great place to stay while there. The house has everything you need to enjoy your time there. Plenty of room to spread out and there’s a nice hot tub to relax in after a long day out exploring Alaska. There’s a pool table and game table downstairs if you decide to pick up some pizza and spend some time in one evening. The views are beautiful from the large windows or outside deck. It’s just a great location and a beautiful property with awesome views. I will definitely rent this property again if it’s available if/when I return to Girdwood.

Overall, the house worked great for us. Comfy beds, well-stocked kitchen, plenty of towels and supplies. Enjoyed the hot tub and soaker tub.
Would be nice if the two windows above the bed in master suite could be covered, since it's light outdoors almost all night. Tub in downstairs bathroom has slow drain.

The den/game room downstairs was the most used room in the house. The view of the snow-capped mountains while we ate breakfast upstairs was phenomenal. I would definitely stay here again.

This place was absolutely amazing for our group of 8 adults. We walked to town a few times which was about a 20 minute walk which was great. The place was great for friends to hang out. I was planning on checking out the new spa at the hotel and skipped it because between the master bathroom and the hot tub I felt like I was at a spa at this house. Also the kitchen is extremely well stocked and views are incredible. Will definitely be back.
