About this house rental
We are centrally located to visit Yachats and Newport. Come visit the beach and rejuvenate!!! Ocean views, a woodstove, and our new Hot Tub with rainbow LED lights provide a truly relaxing beach getaway. We have close beach access and one of the best sandy beaches for beachcombing.
The Moonstruck Mermaid is owned by two artists who come to the home frequently to get inspiration for their glass and quilt art. You will see examples of their art throughout the house. The home has hardwood and ceramic tile flooring with cedar ceilings and walls throughout. As soon as you walk thru the door into the gathering room of the home your shoulders will feel lighter. The Moonstruck Mermaid has both a living room and a gathering room with game table. Our guests have enjoyed being able to watch a movie in one room and listen to music in the other. We provide HBO, Showtime, Cinemax, and On Demand for those evenings when it feels so good to just kick back and be entertained. The gathering room has a cedar cathedral ceiling with three skylights; you can watch the moon travel across the evening sky thru the skylights. There is a wall mounted 50' HDTV with DVD player. This room also has a full size sleeper sofa that will comfortably sleep two, two leather recliners and a game table. Further there is a wet bar fully stocked with glassware, cocktail shakers, ice bucket, etc. Also there is a half bath off this room and an outside courtyard with morning sun.
There is a pass thru from this room into the newly remodeled kitchen with a JennAir convection range. There is even a crock pot to simmer a winter stew whilst you are on adventures during the day. The ocean view dining room will comfortably seat six. The living room also has a cedar cathedral ceiling, fabulous ocean view, woodstove, a 50' flat screen with DVD player and opens onto the expansive ocean view glassed in deck. The ocean view master bedroom has a queen pillowtop bed, large closet, 37 ' flat screen HDTV and also opens onto the deck conveniently close to the hot tub. The ocean view second bedroom also has a queen wrought iron canopy bed with handmade mermaid quilt. The large main bathroom has a bathtub/shower combination. The glass tile countertop and knobs in the bath were created by the owners. And finally, there is a utility room with washer and dryer.
One of the most enjoyable aspects of the Moonstruck Mermaid are all the outside relaxing areas. The lavender and herb garden are quite unique so close to the ocean. There is a seating area in the lavender garden with a dazzling ocean view and glass tile mosaic bench. There is a second lavender side garden with seating and ocean view. The expansive glassed in deck on the west and south side of the house are where the four person hot tub resides. The deck also has a private area for moon bathing after getting out of the hot tub. The deck furniture is comfortable and will seat four people.
The back yard is securely fenced for your pets. Our pet guests have enjoyed this feature.

I had never done a VRBO so was understandably nervous. When I reached out after booking with questions Debra responded quickly. When we arrived we smiled, high 5'd each other went inside to check things out. Everything was wonderful. The attention to detail, the art work, all the appliances we needed and a lovely deck to hang out on when we weren't taking leisurely walks down the beach. Would do it again in a heart beat... We have been renting this home for several years and love it. Located in a peaceful neighborhood in waldport, it is a very short walk to the beach. Our pups love the fenced yard. Beautiful deck and hot tub with views of the ocean. One of our favorite vacation homes!

This property is amazing-comfy and relaxing. I really appreciate the ability to bring the dogs-they are family. My parents joined for a few days and now are also in love with the place. The location to the beach is easy and we had so many great walks-we even saw a bald eagle and lots of starfish. Thanks for sharing your space.

We loved this house so much and felt right at home as soon as we walked in. The kitchen spice cabinet is something I plan on adding to my future kitchen! The art is amazing, my walls are covered too. so I felt right at home and had a great time checking everything out! The quilts are beautiful, the quilt in the master was my favorite! The yard was perfect for our two little dogs. Just a short walk to the beach. My husband loved the book collection and I enjoyed the hot tub! By far one of our best stays. We felt very at ease and everything was provided that you could possibly need! I would love to come back! Thank you thank you for sharing such an amazing space!

Great house and everything was perfect. We really enjoyed relaxing and visiting with a few friends in the are. We loved all the extra touches the house provided. I think the only issue was getting the tv (we only used 1 or 4) to use the cable. The directions had the clue so all was good! Thanks again, Tracy and Sandra

I love spending time at the Moonlit Mermaid! The house is spacious. There is so much light: the sky-lit great room, the deck with its clear windshields, the wonderful walk-in closet. My dog remembers the place and loves it too. We'll be back!

This is our 4th time staying at the Moonstruck Mermaid and we look forward to many more stays there. The location is fantastic, the home is warm and inviting and the neighborhood is so quiet. We love coming down and unwinding in the hot tub, eating good fish, and relaxing. Our fur baby enjoys her walks on the beach and we enjoy having a fenced-in yard for her. My only complaint this time, was the internet being slow. I had to do some business and found it challenging to get pages to load. But that won't stop us from going back again and again.

This very clean house had two very comfortable queen size beds, and separate living room is really a living room and a sunroom, hot tub and a wonderful fenced in yard for our two dogs. As others have said the pictures on the listing, don’t even do it justice it was great quiet as a lovely little porch, and so much style and personality. We really appreciate it. Thank you!

The home is so comfortable and the location is close to many of our favorite places to visit including Yachats, Heceta Head, and Newport.
We stayed here for two nights and the next time we are staying longer!

Absolutely beautiful place to stay with good beach access. Wonderful dog walking beach and very friendly walkers. Lovely local places to eat and close to Yachats ( do not miss dinner at Ona’s). We went agate hunting and found great ones at Fogerty Beach. If I may suggest - a couple more waste baskets & tissues. And, if you are a soft bed lover you will be super comfortable! The kitchen is better equipped than mine at home. All in all a great place to stay.

We stayed here for our anniversary 3 years ago and it was so nice to finally make it back. It’s just a perfect little spot chill for a weekend. The fenced yard means we can bring our dog which is fantastic. The beach is very conveniently close and great for walks. We spend hours in the hot tub and can see the game on TV through the window from it. This is a special place for us and we will definitely be coming back.

Once again, we enjoyed our visit lots, and this time we had beautiful sunny days! But if a breeze to keep us comfortable, we got a walk in along the 804 Trail in Yachats, cooked some yummy food, and the pup loved being able to explore in the back yard! Thanks for making this perfect-for-us space possible! It works for my disabled spouse as well as for me and our pup!

We really enjoyed this spacious art filled home. All the little outdoor nooks and crannies outside to sit and relax were unique. The hot tub was perfect, laying under the stars to the sound of the ocean waves was heavenly. Very dog friendly which is important to us cause

We always enjoy staying here. For my wife and I, this was our fifth stay. For our two kids, it was their third. The place is very cozy, quiet, and within easy walking of the neighborhood beach. We love the two living rooms and use one as a quiet reading room. The kids just learned to ride their bikes, so we brought those and had a nice little ride around the neighborhood on our final day. This place provides great value for a small family, with the tranquility of a small town and nearby access to Newport (to the north) and a number of natural sites to see (many to the south). Debra is very communicative if you need to reach out for anything. We're really looking forward to another stay next year!

We had a really nice stay at the Moonstruck Mermaid. The home is clean and comfortable and in a quiet neighborhood. It was really great to have a fenced yard for our dogs. The walk to the beach was easy with two access points nearby. We loved all the quilting and stained glass art to admire. We hope to return again someday. Warmth, comfort, convenience and creative art work abound. Beautiful property where you can hear the crashing of the waves while lounging in the hot tub or out on the deck. Our golden retriever loved the fully fenced yard and walks on the beach, even in the rain. We will be back!

This is our second stay at the Moonstruck Mermaid and it will not be our last. We LOVE this home. The first time we stayed it instantly felt comfortable and this time it was like coming home. Very comfortable and relaxing home. We always have our fur baby so we do bring throw rugs because she is 12 and slips on the beautiful wood flooring. She loves laying on the deck and walking to the beach with us, so we are thrilled they accept pets. This time we had a little bday party with family that visited for the day and it was perfect. Everyone loved hanging on the beach and having a nice fire as we watched the sunset. Highly recommend this location for your next vacation.
