The location makes this the ideal base for exploring the many delights of this beautiful part of the Scottish Highlands. By using the North Coast 500, a 500 mile coastal route which uses the main roads across the coastal edges of the North Highlands you can discover stunning deserted beaches, historic castles and a diverse array of wildlife. Viewhill Villa is located in a quiet setting, yet just a few minutes walk will take you in to the heart of the city centre where you will find something for everyone, including a large range of shops, fine restaurants and bars, along with art galleries, museums and open topped bus tours to name but a few of the many amenities the city has to offer.
Take a cruise on nearby Loch Ness with Urquhart Castle on its shores, visit the Cairngorms National Park with Aviemore at it’s centre, or slightly further afield, take a day trip to the beautiful Isle of Skye or north to the Orkney Islands. The area is renowned for its large number of historical attractions, which include Culloden Battlefield, Fort George, and Cawdor and Brodie castles. Activities in the area include golf on some of Scotland’s most spectacular courses, such as Macdonald Spey Valley, Royal Dornoch and Castle Stuart, with the Fairways Course and driving range just a very short drive away. Mountain biking, water sports, fishing, climbing and hill walking are also widely available.
The Moray Firth is the perfect place to see the world’s biggest bottlenose dolphins. Depending on the time of year, you might even be able to do some whale watching. Minke and killer whales both visit these waters, and there have been sightings of sperm whales and pilot whales also. The Scottish Dolphin Centre offers hourly guided tours and a very informative learning centre that children will love, and admission is free. For the less energetic, sit back, relax, unwind and enjoy this lovely property in a quiet setting. Beach 12 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant ¼ mile.
