This 18th-century weaver’s cottage provides an excellent base from which to explore all that this extensive location has to offer, with walks from the doorstep.. 1 step to entrance.

Situated along a quiet, narrow, cobbled street, where the Narrowgates cotton mill once stood, this quaint, 18th-century weaver’s cottage has been lovingly restored into a fantastic holiday home. This semi-detached cottage has been beautifully presented, with the owner taking great care to ensure that the property maintains all of its charm and character, whilst at the same time providing all contemporary and comfortable features of a holiday home.
Situated within 2 acres of natural land, and enjoying an elevated patio area, this property is deceptively spacious. On the ground floor is a cosy living room with wood burner, where guests can snuggle down with a glass of wine in the evening. There is also a charming kitchen/dining room with handmade units, original quarry tiled floor and an oil fired Aga. To the rear of the property is a conservatory, which is the ideal place to retreat to for a quiet read. Upstairs are three beautifully co-ordinated bedrooms, and a contemporary family bathroom. Perfect for a night in after a busy day exploring this extensive location, all the TVs come pre-loaded with music, over 300 movies to watch and are wired for guests to have fun when they bring their own Playstation or Xbox.
Narrowgates Cottage is located on the edge of the village of Barley, which is within the Forest of Bowland, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The village has two good pubs, a café, children’s playground and picnic area. Barley is situated close to Pendle Hill and is a popular starting point for walkers who want to follow in the footsteps of the famous Pendle Witches. With many cycle routes available from the doorstep, and a bike rack at the property, this holiday home is every outdoor enthusiasts dream. Surrounded by beautiful Lancashire countryside, it is the ideal base from which to explore the Ribble Valley with its stunning scenery, pretty villages and welcoming country pubs. The bustling market town of Clitheroe, which is considered to be the capital of the Ribble Valley District, is just 8 miles away and in addition to its Norman castle it also offers a good selection of shops, bars and restaurants.
Walking and cycling are two of the main activities that bring visitors to this picturesque area, but there is also golf and fishing within a short drive. Thanks to its proximity to the M65 and M6, this also makes a good base for a touring holiday. The Lake District, Yorkshire Dales National Park and the Fylde Coast, whose popular resorts include Blackpool, Morecambe and Lytham St Annes, are all within an hour’s drive. Shop 4 miles, pub and restaurant 500 yards.
