On the harbour are some small pod-style shops, and on a Sunday, there is a popular and busy market where locals buy fish, fruit and vegetables. The small lobster hatchery is a popular tourist attraction, and around the harbour are some small fish restaurants, two fish and chip shops, and an Italian-style ice cream shop which sells a fantastic range of ice cream flavours. The historic village of Warkworth is only 2 miles away, and you can enjoy a lovely walk whilst admiring the view of Warkworth Castle, which is set on the small hillside awash with daffodils in the spring. The pubs, bespoke shops and pretty riverside are a real attraction, and with free parking, it is a popular little place to visit. Alnwick is 14 miles away with its cobbled streets and famous castle which featured in the Harry Potter films and Downton Abbey TV series. The water gardens are beautiful at any time of the year, and the spectacular grand cascade waterfall, as well as the world’s largest treehouse restaurant, should not be missed.
Amble is on the edge of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the Northumberland Heritage Coastline has some of the most unspoilt beaches and picturesque coastline in England, with plenty of footpaths and cycle paths to be discovered. Amble is a great location for exploring the whole of the county of Northumberland, and has a good selection of amenities on your doorstep. Beach 1 mile. Shop 300 yards, pub and restaurant 800 yards.

We enjoyed our time here.
We enjoyed our time here. The house was very clean and comfortable - we felt safe in these difficult times. It's a short walk into Amble, where there are independent shops and restaurants, many dog-friendly. We found plenty of walks locally for the dogs and us, and the house is well placed to enjoy the attractions of the Northumberland coast. We have already recommended both the house and Amble to friends.

Beautiful house and garden.
Beautiful house and garden. Lovely welcome pack on our arrival, including something for Charlie the dog. Very quiet area despite being close to other houses. Bedrooms were very clean and comfortable. Sitting out on the decking for breakfast it felt like we were in the middle of the countryside, especially with the field of cows on the other side of the fence. So peaceful. Location is ideal for exploring both North and South of the Northumberland coast. Morrisons have opened a new supermarket literally 5 minutes walk from the house, with plenty of cafes, restaurants and shops in and around Amble about another 15 minutes on foot or a couple of minutes in the car. If you have a dog then drive to the marina car park at the other side of Amble and walk into the town across the large grassy area which Charlie really enjoyed off lead. This route also gives you a lovely view of Amble. Altogether a lovely holiday made all the better by staying at Teal House.

Fabulous location. We’ve been going to Northumberland for many years but never stayed in Amble before. Would definitely recommend as it’s a perfect base being pretty much central. Lovely house, clean and modern.

Teal House was very comfortable and well appointed with everything we needed......the only slight problem was when we first started to prepare food we had to wash some of the kitchen utensils before using, otherwise it was very good

An excellent place to stay and we have only said that the equipment level could have been better because there was some equipment removed as part of the safer holidays programme running at the moment. We would have preferred to be nearer the beach, but having said that it is not too far to walk down to the link from the house. Overall the house is spotless and is very modern. We loved the garden and the little pergola was a lovely place to sit and have an early morning coffee.
We visit the North East regularly as my mum lives in Morpeth and sadly suffers with dementia. Finding somewhere where we feel at home and where our dog is welcome. We will certainly be coming back to Teal House again in the future. Thank you so much for a great few days.
