Lived up to expectations!

We loved the house. Wonderful views with spectacular sunrises and sunsets. Very cosy downstairs lounge with great coal effect fire. Great walks from the house in both directions. We especially loved the walk from Anstruther to Crail with a bus back every hour. The owners were very helpful in offering early arrival and late departure.

We had visited Making Waves before so we knew what to expect, albeit this time strict Covid protocols were being followed to provide peace of mind to guests. It is a cosy, historic fisherman's cottage overlooking the sea, with a garden and small balcony to enjoy the view. Sky Sports is a bonus/essential - take your pick! It is ideally located for strolls along the coastal walk to Crail, Pittenweem etc or a drive into St Andrews. The Anstruther shops are excellent (try the cheese and leak loaf from Barnetts, the butcher and the deli - and, of course, the famous chippies). Highly recommended.

I had never been to that part of Scotland before, but I loved it. The house was lovely, comfortable, it had everything we needed and beautiful views, Parking was an issue the first night, but we managed and from then on we got parked in the street, although it wasn’t a hardship to park in the next street. Loved Anstruther, got the famous fish and chips, ate in a few other places and spent as much time as we could sitting in the garden or on the terrace off the dining room enjoying the beautiful view.

We loved our stay at Making Waves. It was such a great location, and having the sea to look out at every day was just magical. Everywhere we visited was no more than 15 minutes drive. We will definitely be back.

A very bright, snug and comfortable cottage where you can lie in bed at night and listen to the sea. Lots to do and see in Fife and beyond or sit on the patio and watch activities on the water. very good Coop supermarket within walking distance. Sep 19 was our 2cnd visit and we will return.

Excellent accommodation, very well equipped, nice garden and spectacular sea views. Minutes walk from the historic harbour. The only thing that we would have preferred is a table and chairs in the dining area instead of the bar stools.

Had a great week at “Making Waves”.
Had a great week at “Making Waves”. We had read some of the reviews & were a bit unsure what we would find, but everything was superb. Rooms all clean, everything we needed, a home from home which was very well equipped. It was great opening the bedroom curtains in the morning to see the sea. Having breakfast at either the breakfast bar or out on the balcony watching the boats which my husband spent hours with his binoculars watching. Even cooking or washing up was great looking out at the sea view. Downstairs a lounge with patio doors which went out to a small patio which had garden furniture leading to the garden going right down the sea. We absolutely loved our week so much we have booked to go back at the end of September as a week was not long enough. Roll on till we get back.

Cottage is in a nice quiet location and just a few minutes walk to the harbour areas of Anstruther and Cellardyke, lovely garden area for sitting and taking in the views. The kitchen is very well equipped but the dining area isn't comfortable for eating, it's only a breakfast bar not a dining table. The sofas in the lounge have lost there firmness and not very comfortable. The bedroom to the back of the house has a double bed but one side is right against the wall, OK for children. The garden furniture cushions had been left out and were wet so couldn't use them for a couple of days until they'd dried out, we left them in the storage cupboard DRY for the next guests.

Accommodation suited us fine with almost all the equipment we needed for a full week.
No problems at all and happy to recommend to others.

We had a very nice week in "Making Waves". The House was comfortable and had everything we needed (even more so like the fridge especially for wine...).
The view from the kitchen, dining room, lounge and one bedroom was great.
There are nice places to eat (e.g. The Haven at Cellardyke Harbour, and, of course the great fish and chips restaurant.
