Located on South Point you can golf, fish, kayak, canoe, and crab -- 1/4 mile from public boat launch and four of the best OC golf courses: Rum Pointe and Ocean City Golf Club are only 5 minutes away; Eagle's Landing about 10minutes and Glen Riddle about 20 minutes.. This property was the perfect getaway. Right on the water in a quiet neighborhood but still close enough to all the activities of OC. We brought kayaks and the boat launch is literally 2 minutes away. I loved that 1 day we could have the hustle of the boardwalk and the next day have the serenity of a quiet waterfront retreat

Booked primarily to Kayak in the area, the location was great. The close proximity to assateague made trips to kayak enjoyable and fast, and although kayaking is possible from the property I would suggest bringing muck boots. Property was a quiet retreat from the hustle of Ocean city, but only a short drive to restaurants and attractions. Hostess was responsive and helpful when it came to the property and the area, would definitely stay again.

Great place for kids. Location and view can’t be beat. Excellent communication with manager. Only downside is very hard water, heavy with iron and minerals. Stained bathroom fixtures and shower curtain. White clothes come out of the washer mildly stained. Otherwise very comfortable and well set up.

Checkin was very easy and the house simple to find. Beautiful views of the bay. Only 3 minutes to the public boat dock to launch our kayaks. And only 10 minutes from the beach. Home was clean and well provisioned. Compared to the 1 bedroom condo we normally rented it felt enormous. Lovely place to stay - we hope to stay again.

My fiancé and I loved this house. It’s so close to assateague and the view is unbeatable- the sky is so clear and stunning at night. Margo made everything very easy from start to finish. We would for sure stay again!

Property was in a beautiful peaceful location. The views were gorgeous, especially sunrise! As an avid Birder, this spot was amazing! The kitchen had all the essentials to enjoy some meals in. Location is ideal as it's close to Assateagua Island and The Boardwalk.

If you want to beach at Assateague, this is your home base to do it from! It's about 5-6 miles away and its close enough to Berlin or Ocean City. The neighborhood is very quiet. Best of all are the views of the bay from the deck! The house is well equipped for cooking & dining and the bedroom beds are comfortable. We would definitely stay here again! And the property owner is quite responsive to emails & texts.
The only minor detractor of this place is that the cell reception is VERY slow to almost none existent (Verizon phones) and the house wifi router doesn't provide much better internet speeds. Thanks Margo!

This was the most perfect house. The view from the brand new deck was AMAZING. We loved having morning coffee and at night star gazed. The kitchen is huge and fully stocked. The appliances are all new and very modern. Finally had a table that fit everyone. Kids enjoyed the smart tv on the rainy days. Mattresses We’re so comfortable we slept like a log. Lots of fun games were there. I am a professional cleaner by trade and I’ll tell you this place was clean. Thankful for the hot water in the outdoor shower. The quietest neighborhood ever. Never saw or heard a neighbor. Felt very safe. Tons of off street parking. We had one of the most memorable family vacations this year.

The Perfect Place
This trip was my first in that location and it was the best. It's perfect because you are just far enough from the craziness of Ocean City, with it still being only a 30 minute drive. Plus you get the beaches on the Island.

Great place to recharge!
Very quiet and cozy. You can just have peace and the perfect view, short trip to beaches and mother nature. Take your short trip the other direction and take in the boardwalk. Excellent fishing nearby as well. Great place to stay to seek a different adventure just by taking different direction each day.

Hide away visit
What a great location! Peaceful street with amazing views in the back. So close to the beaches in Assetegue. The house met our family's needs for a home base. Kitchen had all we needed for a few family dinners, would suggest bringing water to drink and ice. Host was very responsive and helpful!

Great Getaway
We have previously stayed on the OC boardwalk, north of the boardwalk and on Assateague Island, but this was by far the best location for us so far. The well kept house offers privacy with wonderful views of the bay and Assateague Island. We spent days at the National Park, board walk and exploring the rest of the area without the crowds, traffic and commotion that accompanies a resort area. We were able to go crabbing and clamming in the neighborhood, had great restaurants very close by and could steam our own crabs on the back deck. Bird watchers will love the variety of birds in the marsh and on the bay. It's a treasure and we'll definitely be back. Thanks for having us!

Quiet neighborhood, beautiful view
Our small family had a nice vacation here. The cottage is a short drive from Assateague, Ocean City, Berlin and Frontier Town. We enjoyed early morning walks through the surrounding neighborhood.

Great getaway near Assateague Island. Quaint place with a great view to start and end your day with. Adequately stocked kitchen. Brand new gas grill. Wifi is available at the house. Would recommend this place to others looking to avoid crowds.
Word of caution: Be wary when doing whites in the laundry as some may turn orange due to well water.

Loved the Beach and the Assateague Ponies
Loved how close the property was to both Assateague and Ocean City, and we also liked how quiet the neighborhood was. There were also many restaurants and cafes nearby. The property was also listed very honestly. We had a great time!

Beautiful location.
The location is beautiful. Sunrise and sunset view is amazing and it’s very peaceful sitting out on the deck. It’s also very close to Assateague — we went most days after kids were finished with distance learning for the day (thanks to the WiFi). The photos of the place are accurate — furniture is not fancy. This is a family vacation home, so kitchen etc was well stocked. The only bummer for us was that the “mattresses” in the bunk room were very thin foam and very uncomfortable. Maybe they’d be ok for younger kids, but not for a 3rd & 7th grader. My kids ended up sharing the full bed in the other room. We would book again, but we would bring an air mattress :)

Getaway with a beautiful view
I wanted a place where I could look at the water with coffee or wine in hand, anytime. And we got it and loved watching the water, sky and birds at will. We used this house as our base camp for kayaking, swimming in the ocean, a trip to Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge/Harriet Tubman country, and (one night) a bonfire on the beach at Assateague National Park’s South Ocean Beach. We also did our share of stargazing from the back deck. Bring you binoculars for birdwatching! The tap water is a little funky but our Brita filter pitcher made it fine. We could have refilled the large water bottles at a local store but did not. Kitchen was well equipped and we cooked throughout the week. The owner was very responsive and welcoming. A lovely visit.

Great location
We really enjoyed our stay in the area, getting to visit the beach across the bay and see wild horses in the national park, and the nearby downtown of Berlin is lovely. The house itself is quirky: it's clearly built to withstand high winds and flooding, and you can feel it shaking a bit now and then. Between our two families, our four kids all happily piled into the bunk bed room and slept well, and the living room/kitchen was a nice space for play and meals. The owners know about a couple of general maintenance issues that they are going to address, but as a whole, we felt good in the house, and we really loved being able to stargaze at night and take in the view of the bay during the day. Beatitude sunrises too.

Property was exactly as listed, pictures were accurate, and the view of the bay was beautiful! I would recommend just having a bit more toilet paper on hand for a family of 5, and the house water had a rust flavor (normal for this area). Also, the 5 gallon pre filled water jug was almost empty on arrival. Otherwise we had a fantastic time and would stay here again. Thank you Margo!

Condition of Property
Dead spiders and live ones too,cob webs, and what looked like mold in one of the bathrooms,f toilet bowls were filthy, water not drinkable, all faucets and drainage rusty, a strange very small yellow bug in a heap about 3" in window with them crawling up the curtains, etc., Beautiful view of bay. Left the property immediately after taking photos and currently having a difficult being refunded. DISAPPOINTED!

Love staying at your rental, this is the 3rd. year we vacationed there. Love the quiet. My husband puts his kayak in right there and I can watch him in the bay this year he got to play with some dolphins. Last year it was 2 sharks he saw in the bay. Short drive for the grandkids who love going up to Ocean city for the boardwalk. We just love the whole area .

Amazing view with abundant wildlife
We were blown away by the view from the back deck - a bird viewing paradise! Listing was accurate and everything enjoyable. The living room furniture was similar to the college dorm from 20 years ago but we weren’t there for that. We were there for the proximity to Assateague Island where we only had a 10 minute drive each day. I would stay again!

Nice location and view
We love the location and neighborhood of this house. We were able to see horses across the water using binoculars. There were many waterfowl and beautiful sunrises. The view is outstanding. The neighborhood is residential and quiet.
The house had some quirks. We were greeted by a kitchen full of flies. Possibly someone before us had the door open. We also noticed other undesirable bugs and traps. Also, the water is hard and turned some of our whites brown during washing.
Other minor issues: tub doesn’t hold water (plug doesn’t work), handle on outside door was broken until we fixed, bar stools are broken, cleaning was not thorough (old food wrappers under beds, etc).
I enjoyed the collection of Chesapeake-related history as well as the decor on the walls related to the Chesapeake region.
The owner was very communicative and responsive. I left a computer charger at the house by accident, and she said she would ship it back. I appreciate this kindness as well as the owner opening up the house to us as visitors.
Overall despite the quirks we had a great vacation at the house. Thank you!

stunning view and quiet location
So close to Assateague Island beaches it's easy to go back and forth all day, while in the evening you can sit and look at the island from across the water. Beautifully peaceful.

Nice neighborhood but house is out dated
The neighborhood was great and the view was pretty. I thought I would like being away from all the hustle and bustle but found we did a lot more driving than we would have liked. The house needs updated some and improvements needed. Was nice to have Directv with DVR but was impossible to relax on the living room furniture. Things to bring that are not provided are: towels (bath AND kitchen towels, laundry detergent, paper towels. I bought a non stick skillet while I was there to make breakfasts as the skillet there was not useful. Otherwise the kitchen was well equipped. If you use the outside shower be careful as I slipped on the moss buildup on the concrete. Check in was at 3:00. When we arrived at 4:30 the cleaners were still there so we had to wait in the car until they were finished and did not even do that good of job. I probably would not stay there again. The rental cost and cleaning fee are too high for this house and location.

The Hyde Out was exactly as described and represented in the photographs. Close to Assateague and Ocean City but away from the hustle and bustle. It was dated but clean. We enjoyed our time there.the only reason we may not return was the lack of wifi and weak cell service... but sometimes being disconnected can be good!!

Nice condo
The condo was very nice, lots of beds to accommodate our large family. Owners were very nice and were very quick to respond to questions. Located less than 10 minutes from Ocean City but away from the crowds. Would stay here again
