Our family of 6 adults and 1 2-moth old child and 3 dogs stayed here this last weekend. Had a wonderful time. The house was great and close to town. Fantastic views from the deck.

Family and friends had a great time at the rental cabin. The views were great, the primary photo is spot on and the cabin was relatively clean. HOWEVER, there are number of issues that I had:1) The steep incline of the driveway. Don't know what the actual grade is, but had we not decided to park at the bottom of the driveway there's no way (even with AWD/4x4) our cars would have been able to safely go up and down the driveway in the snow. This is a detail that should be CLEARLY STATED IN THE DESCRIPTION OF THE PROPERTY. The only reason I looked into it was b/c a reviewer happened to mentioned it was difficult to walk up the driveway. I looked at the streetview on Google maps and thought it would be manageable but no I was mistaken. Having to park at the bottom of the hill, we needed to carry everything up and down. Yes it builds character but "FEATURES" LIKE THIS HILL NEED TO BE PROPERLY DISCLOSED. I mentioned my concern to a rep and she state: "Well you should have done your due diligence." WTH..REALY2) Poorly maintained: Many areas of the cabin are poorly maintained. There is a bedroom on the ground floor that is clearly NOT insulated. The heater is not enough to keep the cold out, b/c the door leading outside isn't insulated. THIS SHOULD BE CLEARLY DISCLOSED or remedied. Tiles in the bathroom are separating from the walls, the bathtub is either leaking or was recently fixed b/c the wood flooring shows recent water damage (How do I know? B/c the other family that went with us works as a property manager for multiunits.) Toilet paper dispenser falling off the walls, broken microwave, cracked refrigerator shelving and slides...What is the point of collecting fees for cleaning and maintenance when it's not being done properly? 3) 3rd party rental agreement: I realize this may be a CYA b/c of the number people who seem to have forgotten simple rules we learn in kindergarten but there is another 7 page rental agreement that you MUST sign or can't get the

We very much enjoyed our stay with two families and 8 total adults/children (+2 dogs). The place was spotless and had plenty of room for all of us. The fenced in yard was large and a real plus for letting the animals run around. We had some minor issues with breakers and hot tub but the property managers were extremely responsive and came out promptly to fix things. An overall great weekend.

Stayed here to celebrate my bday last weekend and it was a wonderful time in the home, which provided all the amenities needed for a cozy weekend in with friends and family. The kitchen is stocked well with cookware and supplies. The outdoor space is very large with plenty of seating around the property, although we didn't get to enjoy much of it as it rained all three days we were there. It definitely can get warm in the upstairs bedrooms when the thermostat is turned up past 64 degrees, and the bottom bedrooms didn't seem to warm up nearly as much. Also no closet or dresser in the master bedroom or bedroom with king bed, which was weird and inconvenient. All in all, it was a lovely cabin and the staff at New Spirit were kind, responsive and helpful anytime we had inquiries. I recommend this rental.

This house was beautifully located with stunning views of Taquitz. The porches were the best place for coffee in the morning and grilling burgers in the afternoon. However, the evening visits just soothes the soul in the twinkling lights, under the pines and oaks of the side yard.
The house has a well stocked kitchen, beds are comfortable and the sheets are soft. The layout of the house is well planned as the rooms are private and quiet from the rest of the house. We all left our weekend getaway feeling refreshed.

I have been coming up to Idyllwild for over thirty years and my wife and I have enjoyed many beautiful properties together…but this amazing house is definitely now one of our favorites. The views are epic, the indoor space is super comfortable and spacious, providing plenty of room for our toddler to run around, without disturbing the adults! It has everything you need and more. We look forward to coming back! It’s an awesome location!!

What we needed
Four bedrooms, 3 baths- perfect for our family of 7. The 17 year old had his own escape on the lower floor. There was no access to get out for the little ones on the middle level. The adults took the top level. Be aware, heat rises. There was a floor fan to help in one room and the ceiling fan helped a little.
Steep driveway, but has room to turn around, so no one has to back down.
Is a short distance to town, but just the driveway alone and blind turn no shoulder road makes it not easily walkable.
The town itself is adorable and welcoming to tourists. Good restaurants, shops, theater, street entertainment.

If you're looking for a place to stay with a hot tub like we were, steer clear of this property. We were really looking forward to using it the entire time we were there (we purposely searched for a property with a hot tub; people do this as it's a sought-after amenity, so for them to have said when we checked out that it's just a "perk" of staying there isn't really accurate), so we immediately started heating it when we got there. It took nearly 48 hours before it finally hit its peak temperature, and when we used it, we were only able to sit in it for 15 minutes before it started beeping, throwing an error message. We called every day we were there, and two staffers did show up reassuring us it would work, but it never did. On the last full day we were there, we left a message and no one came by. We wrote an e-mail to the property management company to ask for some kind of recourse after we checked out, followed up by e-mail and phone and haven't heard back. It's been nearly three weeks. Disappointing to say the least.

This is an amazing cabin. Super clean with views and all the amenities you need. The pictures don’t do it justice. They even decorate it for Christmas including a Christmas tree! The staff was great, very attentive and kind. Will definitely return.

Worst Cabin We Ever Stayed At
If this cabin ever looked like it does in the photos, it was a long time ago. Saying this property needs TLC is an understatement. There are nails sticking out on the deck (where my 2 yr old cut herself), an ant colony living in the kitchen, all the tables are stained or damaged, half the lights don’t work. The upstairs smells like a retirement home. And that’s just the inside. The yard hasn’t been tended to in years. There are random boards laying about, broken glass around the property. The lawn furniture is straight from a junk yard. The listing photos are from the best angles. The property is small, underneath another cabin up the hill. And the whole reason we chose this location was for the hot tub, which takes 24 hrs to warm up! That is not an exaggeration. We couldn’t use it at all the first night (it only warmed 3 degrees after 6 hrs running). And anytime we contacted the mgmt with questions about our stay or about our issues, they were clueless. So yeah, wouldn’t recommend this cabin for big groups, small families or anything in between. We won’t be returning or doing any business with New Spirit as this experience certainly ruined our first trip to Idyllwild. It’s a shame too, if they put the rental $$ towards the property, it has some potential to be a really lovey listing.

Idyllwild Mountain Air
We loved the view from the deck and the location. Large living room area and deck space. Lots of everyday necessities available. We are senior citizens and a brief description of multiple levels requiring stair climbing would have been beneficial to our selection process. We had a wonderful time and used the BBQ every evening. The house was clean when we arrived. There are everyday maintenance items but nothing that impacted our stay. Thank you for a most enjoyable stay.

This property has lovely views, if you don't mind the telephone wires. We had a lot of problems at this location, and ending up switching to a different property.
PROS: The deck is nice. The decor is cute and homey. The trees are pretty and the view is nice. The upstairs bedrooms are spacious. There are a lot of books in one of the bedrooms, which are fun to peruse.
CONS: The dining-room table has a huge crack in it, all the way across. It appears to have been repaired more than once, it really should be replaced. It is unstable/wobbly and the end of the table hangs down. The table itself had sticky, hardened jelly on it, which was quite gross. The light switches were filthy in the pantry, which made me concerned that the high-touch surfaces were not actually being sanitized. The biggest show-stopper for us was the hot tub. It is too small for more than one adult and a few small kids. Also, the bottom of it has huge wrinkles and it's really uncomfortable to sit in. If you are coming to this property for the hot tub, find another rental. The queen bed upstairs is really uncomfortable, but the king bed we found to be comfy. There are no salt/pepper shakers so plan to bring your own.

Would Stay Again!! Beautiful Cabin
We really enjoyed this cabin, very clean and located in a nice neighborhood. The only issue was the driveway-it's located on the top of the hill and the driveway is very steep and it was covered in snow and ice. Luckily I had 4 wheel drive to get up and down the driveway. The management company was very nice and helpful! I would definitely stay there again!

The hosts were attentive and gracious. We were extremely pleased and the time away from the city was just what we all needed. We will be back for sure! The only quibble I had was that there are rattlesnakes on the compound. I know, of course there are! But it would have been nice to see a reminder note in the welcome folder to keep it on our mind. We found this out the hard way as our dog got bit by a rattlesnake. Not anyone's fault of course but it was an unexpected bill. He's better by the way.

The place was great. The balcony is amazing, and there' a ton of kitchen supplies, no need to bring anything.
The only downside is that there was a rat issue. We saw one in the kitchen and put traps out (they had traps there so it's a known issue) and we ended up catching one and had to trow it away.

This home is a 24 hour delight. No matter the time of day as long as the moon is out, you can step out on the deck and enjoy the beauty and quiet of the Mountains. It is close enough to the center of town to hear the activities of the day waft over the pines but not close enough to become annoyed with traffic noise. Lots of stairs to help build your leg muscles through daily living. New appliances and the staff responded quickly to any of our concerns. Lovely visit.

The view is awesome. Close enough to walk to downtown. The house is really nice - I wish I owned it. Plenty of bedrooms, bathrooms, and a nice big living room and patio... We could not have had a better time. And a big thanks to New Spirit - I consider myself lucky to be a return customer.
