About this house rental
Bring your flip flops, beach toys and swimsuits and relax at Steps to the Sand. This fully furnished 4 bedroom 2 full bath home has two master bedrooms one with a king bed and pull out sofa and the other master bedroom with a queen bed. We have two bunk rooms for the kids one with a double twin bunk bed plus trundle and the other with a twin bed plus trundle. New stainless steel appliances, updated cabinetry and solid surface counter tops appoint the kitchen located off the dining area. Unlike some of the rentals we provide the “home like” items like a full set of real pots and pans, Ninja blender for smoothes, full set of stoneware plates and cups, plastic beach glasses, spices and condiments, coffee maker and coffee, bbq/smoker and you wont be short like other rentals that offer a “starter set” on the important and like bath towels, paper towels, toilet paper, garbage bags and cleaning supplies. If you want to prepare a full dinner, bbq your fresh catch or just wake up to a full size pot of coffee we have you covered. We also provide beach chairs and a few sand toys for the kids that you are welcome to use while your stay. The system will not allow you to book online for stays shorter than what is stated on the website so give us a call if you are interested and we will let you know if we can accommodate your stay. The quickest way to the beach on those busy weekends and events is to walk down the private boardwalk and in less than 5 minutes or a you can park yourself on the beach and start to unwind. After you get done at the beach or for the sports fans that can't miss a game we have a 70” flat-screen in the main living area with surround sound plus flat screen smart TVs in all the bedrooms. We have full cable, HBO and Netflix plus "real" high speed 500 mb internet for catching up on work items and streaming your favorite music or movies. We have an fully enclosed outdoor shower located behind the front steps to wash off the beach you brought back. The back patio area with a table, umbrella and 8 chairs that is lushly landscaped with hibiscus and gardenia.
We do ask that someone over 25 book and stay at this property for the duration of the rental and are interested in renting to responsible families. Our home is well maintained, handy to the beach, close to down town and perfectly suited for two families with children.
We do allow some pets and have three dogs of our own and understand things happen. Pets must be on a leash when outside the house or on the beach, it’s a local law and hoa enforced. We have a doggy duty and fire hydrant center with waste bags located at the rear of our neighborhood please use them and make sure that our neighborhood and ocean stays neat and dog friendly :) There is a $50 per dog fee plus you are required to buy the $59 dollar policy for $1500 of accidental damage insurance. We pay an additional cleaning fee to our cleaners to make sure the next guests have a clean and comfortable play to enjoy their vacation. If something unusual or an accident happens we can replace a rug or coach without having to send an unfortunate or uncomfortable email. We have a well appointed and well maintained property along with being pet owners ourselves.
Reservations are considered "booked" when they are booked and the deposit is placed through vbro, we cannot "hold" dates. To book dates 25% down is required with the balance being paid no less than 30 days out from arrival unless alternate arrangements have been with owner. Owner has the right to decline stays that encompass two weekends if you are staying less than 13 days. An example would be we can't accommodate during peak seasons is a Saturday thru Saturday stay that is 7 nights. Major Holiday weekends are a minimum of three night stays unless otherwise approved by the owner.Feel free to call, text or email anytime if you have a special request, we will respond within one hour. The website availability updates instantly so if it says it’s available when you book you are good to go!
CANCELLATIONS - A 30 day notice is required for cancellation. Cancellations that are made more than 30 days prior to the arrival date will incur no penalty other than the "vbro" booking fee. Cancellations or changes made less than 30 days from arrival that result in a shortened stay will forfeit the full 50% reservation deposit.
Cancellation or early departure does not warrant any refund of rent unless approved in advanced by the owner.
If the event that arrives and requires forfeiture of a deposit We WILL do our best to accommodate the cancelled reservations and if we can re-book with our loss of revenue we would prefer not to penalize our clients, we understand things happen. Best practice is to keep us in the loop if your plans change unexpectedly so we can get the house relisted and hopefully rebooked

We had a great time staying here, the house was really clean, spacious, and well equipped. It was really nice being able to walk to the beach so the location was excellent, the street is quiet at night. I would highly recommend staying here, the owner was also very kind and responsive.

My family and I had such a wonderful stay at this property for my 30th birthday. The owner was so sweet and was responsive to all of our questions. Doggie station was only a few steps away so taking my dog out to potty was really easy. Getting to the beach was SUCH an easy lil walk across the boardwalk. It had all the comforts of home and the grocery store is only a quick drive down the street to stock up on whatever you need.
I truly hope we can return to this property again because it was such a wonderful trip!

Beach is walkable but if you have heavier items might be worth it to have someone drop them off at the beach as the path is narrow.
House was recently remodeled and is beautiful. Having the outdoor patio area was so nice! We found the rooms spacious and bathrooms convenient for all.
Host was slvery accommodating and gave us some great tips on where to spot dolphins and were to eat, all were great!!!
Of note, if I'm not mistaken the listing says beach towels are provided but they are, so you can leave those at home.
Over great place and we will stay again.

Staying in this fantastic house keeps getting better with recent updates making it feel more open and airy!
I have stayed here several times when my family comes in from Denver. Adults and kids alike love the comfort and the location that allows us to walk to the beach. There are even beach toys and boogie boards for all to use!
I will from now on schedule our beach trips according the availability of this place. The owner was super responsive to any questions that arose during our stay and had great recommendations for fun things to entertain all of us.

Very clean, host was very responsive, included golf cart, which we really didn’t need due to being so close to the beach. The kids liked walking to the beach using the boatdwalk. Highly recommend.

Great property, tons of small amenities like beach towels and chairs and plenty of cookware that made our stay easy! It’s a super quick drive to the beach. The house was clean and comfortable - the front bedrooms are set up well for kids. Overall the only thing missing was a grassy space for the kids, but with the beach so close it wasn’t a big issue. We stayed with two families - 4 adults and 3 young kids and had plenty of space. Would book again!

Enjoyed our stay at this home. Recent remodel provides very nice flooring and updated bathrooms. Home was clean with comfortable beds, extra pillows and extra blankets. We brought extra paper towels, tubs of foods, and beach towels. There is a sprayer outside entryway to wash sand off and rack provided to hang towels. You will be a boardwalk away from beach so no need to drive the van to beach with a ton of sandy kids!

This beautiful beach getaway has all the comforts of home. The house has many updates which made us say “wow” when we first walked into it. I love we were provided with all the cooking essentials and the beds were so comfortable. A huge bonus was having the golf cart available to go to the beach or nearby places. It’s a short walk to the beach too using the boardwalk. The owners are amazing people. Our questions were always promptly answered and they stayed in touch to make sure we got checked in ok and were available if any assistance was needed.

Had a wonderful stay at this property, amenities were great and was just a short walk to the beach! Kitchen was well stocked and had great decor. We’ve stayed in Port A a number of times and there are a number of things that really sets this place apart from others: access to golf cart (it’s expensive to rent one on your own), short walk to beach, outdoor enclosed shower, beach towels/chairs/boogie boards for use, and pet-friendly! I can’t stress enough how nice the golf cart was to use to haul stuff to the beach or to get around town. The communication with the owner was excellent as well! Will definitely stay here in the future.

Great location to down town and the beach and you can see the water from the deck that was awesome. This is a great property to stay everything was clean and immaculate, the owner also provided things that most VRBO’S don’t all you need is swim suit, toothbrush, food and drinks everything else was there and provided. There were plenty of beach toys for the kids big and small beach towels. All the neighbors are very friendly and helpful to let you know things to do in Port A. The owner went above and beyond my family’s expectations when the golf cart provided broke down and with in an hour he found and purchased another one. Brian was the best host VRBO iv’e stayed at and definitely will be for my family in the future. Thanks The Kemps

Perfect Getaway
We had an amazing stay at this property. The check-in process was simple and the home included everything we could possibly need. It's just a short walk to the beach and the golf cart was perfect for rides on the beach and quick trips to down. Brian, the owner, was very responsive, as well.
