This is the second time that we’ve stayed at the property for our summer holidays. It’s perfect for us (a family of three, though the property sleeps four). It is lovely and clean, has two gorgeous bathrooms-really handy when everyone gets home from the beach and has an electric car charge point which is always available. It’s close to the beach and coastal path in Aberffraw, so you can do some lovely walks or runs right from your doorstep. Newborough beach is nearby and Trearddur is just up the road. I’d highly recommend Bythwn as a place to stay!

We found the cottage quite spacious and having ground level shower room was ideal, and the car charger was very handy

The cottage was well-equipped and comfortable; the condition of the worktop and nest of tables would prevent top marks all round. The staff were helpful and friendly and the on-site cafe was a big plus. With the pub in Aberffraw now closed, this left just the local shop as a nearby amenity - but that worked well for papers and other provisions. The 2 circular walks based on the location are excellent as is the Oyster Catcher (a short drive away) for excellent evening meals - but do book! Waking up and seeing sheep grazing right next to the lounge window makes a change for anyone coming to holiday from an urban setting!

A really nice cottage; good customer service from the agency too. Clean and relatively new appliances and comfortable stay.
The heating did struggle to cope at times; heat exchangers are known for this unless a property is completely draught free.
Would go again and recommend to others.

Really lovely stay at Bwthyn Branwen. Loved the location. Cottage had everything we needed. Did find the heating a bit hit and miss but nothing to stop us returning. The beds were extremely comfortable. Hope to return in the near future. Good space at the front for our dogs.

We stayed here two years ago & loved it, so chose it again for a family holiday. You get a small discount if you've started before, which is nice. My Mum-in-law is wheelchair bound, so the wet room & downstairs bedroom was ideal. The bathrooms have had a gorgeous makeover since we were here last, & look modern. The upstairs bedroom has lovely views over the field, & as it has two Velux windows we were able to have a breeze come through & keep us cool at night even during one of the hottest weeks of the year! Lovely hearing cows grazing at night, & looking up at the stars was amazing. The cows were curious & came up to the living room window to peer in at us!
Did bump my head a couple of times as it's a sloping roof upstairs, but it wasn't a problem. Great having a shower room upstairs too. Only problem is that as there is no door to the upstairs room, you can hear the TV downstairs if you go to bed before anyone else!
The sofa is looking a bit shabby now, but I can't fault this place - I'd definitely stay here again. It's in a great location too, with a fab beach within walking distance.

They only short fall I found was when stripping bed there was no mattress protector.

Nice little house in Aberffraw . Beds were comfy. The downstairs living room/kitchen/dining area is open-plan and is very small. It was ok for us (2 adults and 2 small dogs) but 4 adults would be a squeeze. Showers were good.
People should be aware that the pub in the village has closed permanently . There is only one shop in the village that is rather pricey. We visit Anglesey regularly so we tend to travel all over the island , but if anyone is thinking of visiting and doesn't want to do much travelling each day then Aberffraw isn't really the place.
The beach at Aberffraw is fab but the weather isn't always so good.

Lovely little cottage. Perhaps need to state ‘no back garden. Beds really comfortable with sensible size duvets on single beds. Replaced battery in clock as it was irritating not working. Metal tab on kitchen unit needs correction as screws keep loosening they need new plugs.
These were very minor maintenance issues. The cottage is cosy, comfortable and well placed in peaceful village. It’s would be a little cramped with four adults I think. The disabled facilities are great with big roll in shower room.

This is the second time we have stayed in the Aberfrraw cottages. For us, with our two Spaniels, it is an idyllic location. The dunes and beaches virtually on your doorstep are beautiful. Clean and empty. Great adventure for the dogs and a lovely walk. Just perfect. Aberfrraw has all the basics that you need, a pub and a small shop. During the winter the pub (The Crown) is closed on Mon/Tue/Wed but the Sunday lunch is excellent, booking a table is advised, the staff are really friendly and the local beer is spot on. The next village, Rhosneigor, also has beautiful beaches but many of the amenities are closed in the winter. The cottages are excellent with everything you need. Very clean and comfortable. We’re booking for next winter so take that as an unreserved recommendation. Anglesey in general is a lovely area to visit. Largely unspoilt. Love the place.

Clean and well presented. Aberffraw was perfect for us as close to family. Very short walk to beach and coastal paths.

We were on a road trip round Wales and this cottage was by far the nicest of all our rentals. It was nicely decorated, well equipped and perfectly located. For rainy days or just chilling, the TV is a smart TV so a variety of programmes are available. For those with dogs, there is a downstairs bathroom kitted out for disabled people which is perfect for putting them to bed in as it has plenty of space.
It's possible to step out of the cottage and walk down to the river Ffraw in a couple of minutes, from where you can either walk out to a lovely beach, or you can follow the coast path in the other direction. All in all, a lovely base for walkers and for relaxation.
The only limitation is in food shopping - but there's a Waitrose in Menai which is only about 15 minutes' drive.

Very pleased with the cottage, good position and outlook to the rear. Village a bit dull.
Unusual key safe took 20min for myself and 2 neighbours get it open...

We have stayed in this cottage twice. The location is lovely. Fabulous cafe just across the road. The staff in the office were very helpful. Because of my disability, I do find the chairs a little uncomfortable. Too low to get out of and no way to have your feet up.A recliner chair would be ideal.

This is our 3rd time staying at these cottages. We love this area and the accommodation is situated in a beautiful village with an amazing pub for food. We will be returning next year .

Super accommodation, especially for disabled guests
First of all, the brilliant points:
Lovely accommodation, and for disabled guests it is ideal, with a downstairs bedroom & a large wet room. The beds were very comfortable. Everywhere was clean. Nice crisp towels. Basics were provided: washing up liquid, sponge, dishcloth, tea towels, hand wash in the toilets, a toilet roll in each loo, and a welcome pack of milk, tea, coffee. Salt & pepper in the cupboard too. Perfect!
The view from the upstairs bedroom is lovely, overlooking fields with cows/sheep. Great having a bathroom upstairs as well as the wet room downstairs.
We had car trouble the day we were meant to go home, and the staff in the office were incredible! They bent over backwards to help us, while we waited for a part to arrive. Because we’d checked out, but had to stay with our poorly car on the car park, they made sure we had access to a toilet, and one lady even made us hot drinks (sadly I didn’t get her name). Tracey was wonderful too, offering to give us a lift to a B&B when the part didn’t arrive in time for the mechanic to fix it.
I would recommend staying here, as it was super accommodation, but also the owner/staff were kind and generous. Nothing was too much trouble.
Now the slightly less positive points: We did have problems with the lock on the door - it was very tricky to lock, from inside or out, but I have mentioned this to the owners, so hopefully it’ll be sorted quickly. My elderly Mum stayed with us, and she is used to a warm home, so we found the smart heating system not very satisfactory. We overrode the controls to try to get the accommodation toasty warm, but unfortunately the radiators didn’t get above lukewarm (radiator thermostat was on full), so the place didn’t feel as warm as the thermostat on the wall was saying (22C). However, when we asked the owners about it, they did lend us an electric heater, which did the job well.
As I said, overall I would definitely recommend this accommodation, and hope to book my disabled mother-in-law in for a holiday soon!

Great Half Term Break
Despite the horrible weather (Storm Dennis), we had a fabulous stay. The cottage is in an ideal location for walking & has everything you need for a comfortable self catering holiday. The beds were comfortable, the bathrooms clean & the furniture & fittings had everything you needed for a short break. We visited the tea rooms across the car park & the pub/restaurant at the end of the road & they were fab - excellent service & good quality food. All in All it was a fab holiday. Thank You

Cosy, warm, comfortable cottage
Just returned from a 5 day break in Aberffraw. Cottage was perfect for both of us and our two dogs. Cottage very warm and cosy. Fabulous location, 5 mins walk to river & beach and even shorter walk to the village pub. Great value as well. Will definitely return later in the year. Excellent customer service from Rhosniegr Holiday Lettings.

Fantastic place in an idyllic spot
A beautiful cottage in the most wonderful surroundings, close to the most breathtaking little cove especially when out with the dogs and the sun is rising. Fantastic pub in the village serving wonderful home cooked food.

No complaints
This was our fourth visit since September 2018. I think that says it all. Our next visit will hopefully be next spring.
No parking problems. If our dog could speak I’m sure she would say the beach is her idea of heaven!!

Everything we needed
I stayed here with my elderly mother and the cottage had everything we wanted. She has limited mobility so the wet room was a godsend. There aren't many cottages which are so perfectly adapted.
We even used the outside bbq area which has a wonderful view.

Bwthyn Branwen stayy
We really enjoyed our stay in the cottage, it was a great location with a beautiful local beach. The cottage was good for 3 people but on the small side if there had been 4 of us.
It was clean and functional but there were a few things missing eg. space to dry clothes and space in the downstairs bedroom to store anything.
Once the wifi was sorted out it was very good and we really appreciated the support by Jamie and the office.
I am really allergic to dogs and would usually book somewhere without pets, this time I didn't and couldn't sit on the sofa because of the dog hair. I realise that I am very sensitive to this however and should have been more careful with the booking.

Very enjoyable
This is our third visit and we will be returning yet again in September. Think this says it all. The location is ideal, so near to the sea. If you like quiet this is the place. Perfect.

Lovely cottage
The cottage had everything we needed to make our stay very comfortable and was in a convenient location near the coastal path and for visiting other areas of Anglesey and also Snowdonia National Park. We hope to return for another holiday soon.

2 weeks at Branwen
The only thing we would like to mention is that the cottage hasn't been cleaned at all upon our arrival. It was really disgusting, especially the kitchen. It looked like the previous guests just left the cottage a few minutes after our arrival.
The problem has been solved the following day, but only because of the nice gardening lady, who was very helpful.
It was Saturday and nobody picked up the phone, not even the emergency number.
Finally, the cottage has been cleaned and our vacation could start.

Return visit
We had the most relaxing time. It's by the laundry but who cares when the staff who pass by are so pleasant. They always have a word with the dog as she watches them, feet on the wall. This is our second visit and within ten days of getting home have booked again. Having read various reviews there is one thing I agree with and it is only small. It could do with a lamp for the evening. It is brilliant when you open the curtains and there is either a sheep or a cow looking you in the face. The beach is stunning and so close. The cafe and the pub are so close, so friendly and the food in both couldn't be better. I could go on and on. In fact I will most probably be booking yet again for the Autumn. Three times in a year. You can't get too much of a good thing!
