A truly lovely cottage, beautifully appointed, with an authentic "New England Cottage" ambiance. The owner is a joy to work with. We shall return.

Great stay despite poor weather. Responsive owner with great pre-arrival communication. House just as depicted in pictures. Great location in Madison, about 50 yards to town beach. Gravel parking for three cars. Great outdoor patio. Kitchen stocked w necessary dishes and cookware. Wifi speeds 20-30 mbps may be an issue for those who are planning on working. Would return.

Beautiful house…well-appointed and comfortable with lovely deck and yard. One block to gorgeous beach; walk to town and lots to do in the surrounding area. Owner was responsive and easy to contact. Will definitely stay again. Love the Connecticut shore!

For our family needs it was a perfect size house. The location couldn’t be better to get to the neighborhood beach. We love spending our evenings on the patio around the fire pit. The only thing I can say in the negative comment is the house furniture and various floor elevations were not conducive for older people to sit in or walk around without full attention.

This was a great spot for our family, it was clean, spacious, close to the beach and into town and Cynthia was very easy to communicate with which made it easy! I could always stay in Madison longer.

Excellent home in a wonderful area
The home, property and location to the beach were perfect! The kitchen / dining area were perfect rooms to have adults enjoying meals together. The yard and fire pit /patio were so nice for playing lawn games and relaxing by the fire to have wine with friends. With a short walk to the beach we were able to go back and forth throughout the day. The outdoor shower was amazing, and the beautiful flowers in bloom made it a cheerful pretty property in the morning and basically all throughout the day. Butterflies and hummingbirds were spotted regularly. The kitchen appliances were awesome to use and made for easy meal prep. We enjoyed our visit very much!

A wonderful Shoreline/Beach rental
This was indeed a terrific vacation rental. It’s a convenient 2-3 minute walk from a lovely sandy beach, but away from any traffic congestion. It’s great for a multi-generational family that wants spend time together, but also to have privacy for smaller sub-groups. There’s a large grassy beautifully landscaped side yard suitable for running around in [plus a supply of lawn games] and a spacious patio, grill, fire pit, and outside furniture for dining or hanging out. A large three-season dining room seats 10-12 people comfortably and the kitchen is modern and well equipped. There are several comfortable seating areas inside with wi-fi and cable TV, board games and puzzles. It’s a pleasant one-mile walk/drive/bicycle to town with restaurants, wine shop, movie theatre, and stores (including one of CT’s best bookstores). The bedrooms are comfortable with three full baths and an outside shower. It’s like staying at one’s own wonderful private resort.

The Perfect Beach House
Our stay at Cynthia’s home was sheer perfection. It’s actually located in the same neighborhood where we grew up, so it was great to be back in the old ‘hood. The 5-minute walk to the beach, the spacious patio with fire pit, the big yard, the well-stocked kitchen, and my favorite: the outdoor shower, made our stay exactly what we had hiked for. And Cynthia was very responsive to the one question we had about air conditioning. We will definitely stay here again.

Madison, CT Vacation
Property is spacious and grounds are gorgeous and immaculately kept. Front porch is great for morning coffee and afternoon cocktails. It's private but you can also see the activity on the street. Patio is also lovely late evening.
Inside is clean and spacious. Kitchen is fully stocked. Air conditioner works well; we really needed it during our stay.
Beach is less than 5-minute walk, and my family was thrilled with the beach. Kids went out on inflatable kayak and had a ball. Kids also played with neighbor's children a few evenings.
Town is less than 15-minute walk with several places to have lunch or dinner; it's definitely worth exploring.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

We had the most wonderful week at this home!
The location is perfect! It’s around the corner from the beach and very close to the town center. We loved the beautiful new outdoor patio and our children had the best time playing in the large side yard. This home is very clean, fresh and comfortable!

The perfect New England vacation !
Totally charming, this cottage was incredibly clean, tastefully decorated, and well stocked. Beds were extremely comfortable. The kitchen was a dream to work in, and the dining table was the perfect spot for our evening meals. The property is located next to the beach, with the owner supplying plenty of beach gear. The beach is sandy and never crowded! Added bonus: a secluded patio and fire pit, which offered a relaxing way to end each day. The owner, Cynthia, was lovely to work with, answering all our questions, and greeted us upon arrival. We are already looking at our calendars to return next year!

The perfect house for a fun family beach trip.
We are a family of 4, including 2 children aged 9 and 6. We all had a great time. The house is only a 15 minute walk to the Madison center of town and centrally located with regard to the other important sites in the town. The house is roomy and well laid out. All rooms are clean with furniture that is fully functional and well-maintained. The bedrooms are numerous and sleep all comfortably and the temperature control in the house is easy and perfect. Most every room also has a ceiling fan that works. The kitchen has great appliances, and is the focal point of the house, with access to nearly every other area. There is no discernible ant or other insect infestation within the house. The TV and the laundry facilities are completely adequate and functional. There is a functional WiFi password-protected WiFi. Bathrooms are clean, too.
Adjacent to the kitchen there is a well-lighted, large eating area that has an exit to the patio. We happily ate meals both in this area and on the patio. The large outdoor gas grill is fully functional, and we cooked about 5 meals on it over 2 weeks. We ate outside on the patio on the clean and appropriate outdoor furniture (complete with umbrella). The yard is extremely large and safe for the children, who spent innumerable hours playing there. The front porch is also a nice place to read or work, with comfortable furniture. There is a fully-functional outdoor shower that our children used daily.
Madison Avenue is relatively quiet with minimal car traffic. The walk to the beach is approximately 5 minutes, safe and highly convenient. We especially like the close-in "purple sand" beach, as it is not too crowded and offers the right size and safety for young children. From the house you are no more than a 15 minute walk to most other beach-related sites. There were no annoying nearby neighbors during our 2 weeks there. In fact, our kids made friends and played with the next door children.
Note: The owner is very responsive to your needs/questions on a continuous basis via text messaging or email, and welcomed our bringing our cat for 2 weeks. She is perfect and just the type of owner one should seek.

Perfect Family Week at the Beach
This house was a perfect summer getaway for our three-generation family. Everyone loved this clean, comfortable and tastefully decorated house. It is roomy and has the amenities that made it feel like a true home away from home. The children loved the big square coffee table, perfect for their Legos; the wide side yard, perfect for a game of whiffleball; and the outdoor shower, perfect after a long day at the beautiful beach.
The adults loved the enclosed side porch with its long table where we ate most meals; the open comfortable front porch, the easy walks to the beach and to town; and cooking in the well-equipped kitchen.
The owner met us on arrival and was available for questions during our stay. All in all we spent a great week and hope to return next summer.
