Spent a weekend with my family. Absolutely perfect place to go for a few days. The house is gorgeous, comfortable and fully equiped.

Wonderful Break
Delightful property 150 steps from the ocean. Very reasonable long term rates.
The host (Laure) is the best.
The only downside for the squeamish, is no A/C. I personally did not find this to be a problem, even though the daily temperatures ranged from ~ 75 degrees to 90+ degrees with high humidity.
All in all, highly recommend.

Casa Tranquila is well-named
Our family of 4 stayed at Casa Tranquila for 5 nights and loved every minute. The location of the house, just few steps from the beautiful, quiet beach and also from Los Cardones (where there is more to do and eat) was perfect. We loved spending relaxing mornings and evenings on the hammocked terrace interspersed with beach walks, swims, surfing, and meals. The beds were comfortable enough. Though there's no AC, we found the fans to be sufficient to keep us cool at night. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook some meals. Be aware that there's no hot water; In our experience though, it wasn't needed. The water was a perfectly refreshing cool temperature.
Janelle was wonderful to work with. We would love to come back!

Great place to relax and enjoy beautiful beach and surf
The property was nice. The airflow was little stagnant and made it very warm sleeping. Ended up sleeping outside in hammock. The adjoining surf hotel was hit and miss on friendliness. Depending who was working it could be very pleasant or you were made to feel unwelcome to be hanging out. However, most people were incredibly nice. Janelle and Dan were awesome. Without them and their knowledge the trip would have been much less enjoyable. We were going to rent car but after learning about the local law enforcement supplementing their income by extorting gringos we decided to pass on car rental. This was a disappointment. We really like exploring local towns. Nicaragua needs to address this issue. Overall, great trip. Again a huge thanks to Janelle and Dan!!

Perfect Paradise Beach Vacation
Myself and a group of seven friends came to Finca del Mar in July. We rented Casa Tranquila and the neighboring house, Casa Pelicanos. Both houses were beautiful and very nice. The homes in Finca del Mar would be nice by U.S. standards and they are quite luxurious compared to most of what you find in Nicaragua. These houses are just a 2 minute walk from Los Cardones along a shaded stone path where you might see the occasional passing Iguana. Los Cadones is an Eco Surf Lodge serving amazing food morning, noon, and night. The beach here is very beautiful and there are hardly any people on it. The busiest day at the beach had only about dozen people. But one of the best parts of any stay in Finca del Mar is dealing with Janelle, the property manager. She is incredibly attentive and friendly and always a pleasure to work with. I would highly recommend a visit to Finca del Mar and the Los Cardones Surf Lodge.

Perfect in every way!
The house was perfect. Very clean, lots of towels, nice sheets and nice pillows, nice big bathrooms and big showers, beautiful king beds with comfortable mattresses, well equipped kitchen, great outdoor eating area, just perfect! It's literally right next to Los Cardonnes, where they have great food, yoga, surfing, lounge areas and a view and access to the beautiful beach. The caretaker, Janelle is wonderful and so helpful. Her husband took us fishing and we cooked and ate the most delicious dinners all week. The closest supermarket is very far, but Janelle was nice enough to pick up a few things that we forgot to grab on our big shop upon arrival. She hand delivered homemade baked goods to us twice that were amazing. She and her family are wonderful, so helpful and they were always available to answer any questions and help us in any way. We highly recommend Casa Tranquila and like the other reviews say, it is truly a gem and will not disappoint! Can't wait to hopefully return someday! Maddie

Best trip ever!
We had such a fabulous stay at Casa Tranquila. The house was great for us, 2 adults and 2 kids. It had everything we needed. It was really nice to be so close to Los Cardones EcoLodge and the beach! I can say enough about Janelle. She is far and beyond the best property caretaker/manager I have come across. She really made the experience truly the best.

Worth A Visit, Worth A Lifetime
Casa Tranquila is a fantastic place to "get away from it all." This beautiful home sits within a stones throw to the majestic Pacific and is replete with a fine ocean view. There is incredible surfing to be had on the warm waves on this secluded stretch of beach. You will pretty much have miles of uninhabited beachfront and the dynamic surf breaks all to yourself. Los Cardones Surf Lodge is right next door and offers up a chance to mingle with a few other friendly, like-mined world travelers, plus you'll be able to grab some tasty eats.
The house itself is beautiful, simple and elegant. It is very well-designed, tastefully decorated and is extremely well taken care of. The bedrooms and bathrooms are spacious and very comfortable. The ceiling fans provide a gentle, quiet breeze as you drift off to sleep in this tropical paradise. The outdoor eating area and hammocks are where it's at. You'll spend ample time swaying in those as you admire the starry night sky in pure wonder.
Can't say enough about this place... After a day, you'll wish you could call it home for life. Do yourself a favor and book this place now without any further hesitation - you absolutely will not regret it!

The most amazing vacation EVER! From surf, to sea turtles, to siesta!
We spent a week at Casa Tranquila and actually extended our stay by a few days because we could not bring ourselves to leave. The resort next store boasted everything you could ask for. They provide three (delicious and local) a day, beverages, and snacks. We choose to do our own cooking mostly, as the kitchen is fully equipped. Janelle, the property manager, had her husband, who is a fisherman, bring us fresh fish on multiple occasions.
The most magical part of the trip was releasing the baby sea turtles. We waited only a few days until one morning, just after sunrise, a guard yelled to us "TORTUGAS! TORTUGAS!" ("turtles!"). Our whole family, as well as the families staying at Los Cardones, hand released nearly 70 tiny sea turtles. It was amazing.
The house is absolutely perfect. Evening without AC it stayed cool through the night. The bathrooms were beautiful and spacious and very CLEAN! The kitchen has everything you need, just bring food! The furnishings are adorable. We ate all of our meals on the porch that faced the ocean. We took siestas in the many hammocks of both Casa Tranquila and Los Cardones.
Casa Tranquila even has its own "manual," which was full of things to do in the area! Our two teenage girls soaked up every minute.
Overall, it was the most magical place we have ever been. Thank you for sharing your slice of paradise.

Wonderful Getaway
Casa Tranquila was a wonderful place to stay for 5 nights. I work a ton and just needed to relax.....this was the perfect place for it. Los Cardones Eco Surf Lodge is so close, had excellent food and we sat in their hammocks during the hot parts of the afternoon enjoying breezes from the ocean. The house is very roomy and we felt very safe. The most best part was the AMAZING property manager - Janelle. She greeted us when we got in late at night, gave us an orientation to the house, and was very responsive when we needed things (e.g., we ran out of propane on night). I can't say enough good things about how welcome Janelle made us feel. And Casa Tranquila was awesome - my only request would be that they put in A/C.....it was hot but we survived under the ceiling fans in each room + hung out at Los Cardones during the hot times of the day. I look forward to returning with my daughter.

Incredible Vacation
This is an amazing place for those people who enjoy lounging in hammocks, walking down the beach and who want to be away from it all. We enjoyed cooking our own meals but on a couple nights decided to go to the ecolodge next door to grab dinner, which has amazing food. The property managers are fantastic and are always available whenever you need anything. I would highly recommend Casa Tranquila for anyone looking for some rest and relaxation.

Ideal house in a beautiful spot
Our family of 4 (2 kids) stayed at Casa Tranquila for 2 weeks and could not have asked for a better place to vacation in Nicaragua. We feel in love with the area and plan to return next year. The house was ample space for our family, very clean and comfortable. The fans helped us sleep better at night as it was extremely hot. The location is a ideal...literally 1 minute walk to the beach or to the ecolodge, where we ate many meals. The opportunity to surf is incredible, lots of options and safe beach. Best experience ever. Thanks for guiding us through it all Janelle!

The perfect place to unwind and enjoy some surf
Where do I start when explaining our recent trip to Casa Tranquila in Finca Del Mar, Nicaragua? I guess the best place is the host, Janelle, who had stocked our kitchen with all of the necessary supplies and was there to meet us, showing us all of the amenities of the cottage. Nice living space, comfy bedrooms, individual showers, nice patio with 3 hammocks and dining table. Less than a minute stroll to the beach where you will find it quite often to yourself. You have access to the Los Cardones Ecolodge, which is an added bonus as they can replenish any alcohol supplies you may be running low on, offer massages, yoga, surf lessons/rentals and fantastic meals. The extra special part of this specific area is the people you meet from all over the world who are like minded and just stoked to catch some waves. We made some amazing friendships there and hope to keep in touch for years to come. Janelle's husband Dan is a great guy who does fishing tours and took us out on a charter, where he even dropped us at a local break and joined us for a few waves. I caught a Roosterfish and a Jack, which were both first for me. I could not recommend this spot enough for anyone who enjoys surfing but also to those who just want to relax and listen to the waves. My wife doesn't surf but she did not want our trip to end. Our 3 year old daughter is still talking about the people she met and the beautiful beach.

WICKED AWESOME
If your looking for quiet, this is the place! I loved the house, large bedrooms & baths. Great back patio w/roof. If we weren't at the beach, you could find us reading/napping in the hammocks or hanging around the large table playing cards & drinking wine.
The beach is not only beautiful w/lots of shells, but very quiet & NO venders!
The echo lodge next door set us up w/horseback riding, surfing & fishing, all very affordable. The echo lodge is also, a wonderful place for meals. But if you want to cook, the kitchen is fully equipped & there is a propane grill.
We shopped in Managua before we arrived, but for a small fee, the manager will shop for you.
I also, can't say enough about the wonderful manager, she will go above & beyond if you need anything!

This extremely well-maintained house is even more beaurtiful than the pictures you see online. A great place to go if you want to "get away from it all," it is in a quiet, restful, and very safe setting. The property manager helped us with transportation plans from the airport and was a wealth of information on the area. We will definitely go back for another amazing weekend. You will love it too!

My cup of tea
Wow, in a phrase, Casa Tranquila is the perfect name for a tranquil beachfront home. The house is new and has already been outfitted with all the amenities of home.
The property manager was very friendly and welcoming. I had given her a grocery list and I had all the essentials waiting for me, upon my arrival.
I loved the layout. The bathrooms are large and outfitted with rain shower shower heads. The king size beds are comfortable and provide a sound slumber. I dozed off to the sound of the surf, no white noise app required. The living area is open and inviting. I loved the high ceilings.
If I wasn't reading at the beach, or swimming, I was enjoying the chairs and hammocks on the patio. The oceanfront location provides an excellent view of the incredible sunset. I also watched the sunset from the beach and the sunset surfing was surreal. I was constantly shaking my head at how beautiful the Pacific coast of Nicaragua is and how lucky I was to be vacationing there.
The Eco resort next door is a chill place to have meals and unwind as well. The fresh caught fish was delicious. They offer surfing lessons, yoga, and massages to write home about. The proprietors make you feel right at home.
Casa Tranquila is perfect for relaxing, surfing, swimming, fishing, finding sand dollars, and horseback riding along the coast.

Special place
This was our first trip to Nica. and it was amazing. The house was even better than described, so comfortable and very well laid out. It was just my husband and I but I feel like it would be a wonderful house for two couples or a family with kids. The bedrooms and baths were generous in size.
The kitchen was well equipped but we only used it for coffee. We spent all our time next door at the surf lodge having our meals.
After a wonderful introduction from the manager we felt like we had our bearings and started to explore. This house is perfect for surfers or like us, people who just want to check out for a week. The beaches are gorgeous and deserted. We spent hours every day walking and looking for shells.
I couldn't say enough nice things about the people at the surf lodge next door. It's such a warm, welcoming spot. Great food and even better company. We were even lucky enough to watch a sea turtle lay her eggs!
My husband and I plan to come back to this house again. We just loved the whole experience.
