About this house rental


If you have ever been to Surf City, you are familiar with this this home as it sits in a group of 4 iconic luxury ocean front buildings (which make up 8 luxury ocean front town homes). These large beautify pastel town homes makeup the town shore line and sit on North Shore drive in the 100 block just past Daddy Mac’s. You can truly park your car when you arrive and not get in it again for your entire vacation! Walking distance (1/2 mile or less) to 15 eating establishments from snow cones and ice cream to some of the islands best restaurants! You can even walk to the marina and rent a boa, go out on a fishing charter or take a dinner cruise. Walk to the surf city park and enjoy free Friday night outdoor movies and concerts or just enjoy all that the town has to offer. When you come home you can relax by the private community pool overlooking the beach (Private to the 8 luxury town homes). The pool is just exclusive enough to retain the privacy but gives the children and young adults a chance to make friends quickly.

While this home has “location, location, location”, the real benefit is the quality of the home itself. The first thing that you will notice is the quality of the construction. The home features porcelain tile and bamboo hardwood throughout, heavy trim work and 10 ft ceilings. The quality construction also includes heavy insulation, so you will immediately be impressed by how quiet the home is (important when you are vacationing with a large group). Each of the 4 main bedrooms is a master (having its own private full bathroom attached). Three of the 4 main bedrooms feature King size beds and the 4th bedroom features a custom built Twin XL over queen bunk bed and a twin over twin bunk bed. The fifth bedroom is on the entry level and has a twin over full bunk to help accommodate the overflow when unexpected additional guests show up (because you know when you have a wonderful place at the beach ….it will happen!). Note that this room does not have a private bathroom, but your guest will find it far superior to a sofa sleeper alternative for your overflow that is offered in many other homes!!) Everyone will appreciate the elevator to move luggage, food and family between floors.

We rented for nearly 30 years before we were finally able to purchase our own rental property in Topsail. We used all that knowledge to make this home a superb rental. Here is what we learned and what we have done to make this home a perfect rental experience for you!

After location, location, location, comes BEDDING, BEDDING, BEDDING!
Ever gone to a great rental only to find that after 2 or 3 nights your body ached due to poor bedding and inferior mattresses? You work too hard for your vacation to take a chance. We feature premium Simmons “World Class BeautyRest Recharge” (top of the line) mattresses in all our beds. This includes the bunk beds because we know that adults are frequently sleeping in those beds.

Next is deck furniture!
Ever go to a home with little or no deck furniture? Or furniture that sits so low you are left looking through the railings like prison bars? This home features high top resin deck chairs. These chairs are not only extremely comfortable, they give you a spectacular unobstructed view of the ocean. Enjoy the stunning views from the two covered ocean front decks overlooking the ocean and swimming pool You will never want to go inside!

Fully stocked kitchen and Pantry items:
This kitchen is complete with all the kitchen gadgets and utensils you could desire. The home features a “pay it forward pantry” where we start the prime season with spices, pantry items, coffee, shampoo, paper products, laundry detergent and kitchen nonperishables. These items are available for our guest to use and enjoy on an honor system. We only ask that when you use the last of something, you pay it forward to the next guest by replacing it. If you have non-perishables you do not want to take home, feel free to pay it forward for the next guest to enjoy.


Pay it forward beach chairs for guest use:
We provide several collapsible/folding beach chairs for the home. We all know that the salt air and sand cause these chairs to rapidly degrade. If you use our chairs and one happens to break, we ask that you simply pay it forward and replace the chair so that our next guests can enjoy the benefit of not having to pack these items.

Parking:
Parking is under the home for 3 large cars or 4 compact cars. Overflow public parking directly across the street.

500 count premium bed linens are included.

Furnishings Matter! This home features seating for 10 around the dinner table and seating for 4 at the bar counter. Because understand that sometimes you may need to check in at work or check your personal email, the home has a small office set up including desk, chair and 32 inch computer monitor in the 2nd floor ocean front master bedroom for the use of our guests during their stay. The home also has commercial grade router for fast reliable service throughout the home.

The location is perfect and the house is spacious, beautiful, comfortable and clean. The host is pleasant, quick to respond and overall a really nice person. The pool is a great additional perk to this beachfront property. Parked the car upon arrival and didn’t use it until checkout as everything is in walking distance. Been here before, will definitely return. This place is where memories are made.

We had an amazing vacation with family at this beautiful, comfortable property on the beach! Truly, so convenient to park and walk everywhere. So many great restaurants and activities within walking distance. Loved the pool and that the beach was just steps away!

This is our 3rd year staying at one of Ted’s properties and again did not disappoint!! The house is spacious and well maintained! Ted is always available if you have any questions. Check in is a breeze! Plus check in as at 1pm! The location is right on the ocean with access to a pool, its within walking distance of restaurants, stores and the fishing pier. Can’t wait to go back!

Would have been perfect had there been better communication. We received an email a few days before arrival listing the wrong location. Then we arrive and after two days of the air not working properly, we’re told the 2nd floor unit needed to be replaced. They placed 2 portables on the middle level but not where we wanted one to be placed. The next day the unit was replaced-after nearly 7 hours! Our cars were blocked in; we couldn’t use the elevator, half bath, or go in and out of the upstairs master; it was extremely hot with no air; and there were 3 guys in and out all day making it very uncomfortable. The air worked good for a day but then the breaker began tripping multiple times a day. The middle level remained very hot because it wasn’t replaced and upstairs was hot because it was constantly turning off. I messaged Ted Fri early Fri morning about the breaker and also the toilet that continuously ran and overflowed twice. He sent his handyman right over to check toilet and an AC man was also supposed to come. The handyman fixed the toilet which had a broken seal and left. My husband waited all day for the AC man who never showed up. I sent Ted a video message at 117 saying the breaker was tripping every half hour and it was nearing 80 degrees on both levels; I received no response. I texted him again after 500 when it was 80 on both levels and breaker was tripping every 5 minutes. Ted said he had no idea his AC man never came. Finally fixed Fri 800pm. No comp, just excus
