About this house rental
Our home has recently undergone a complete transformation. All new tile flooring in bathrooms, 60/40 stainless steel sink in kitchen, stainless dishwasher, food disposal, showers, vanities, mirrors, hardware, linens, cookware, silverware, comfort height toilets, cabinets, 1 new king bed/bedding, 2 new queen beds/bedding, all interior paint, some exterior, fireplace accessories, 60' HDTV, and much more. Bennington pontoon with 115 hp motor available for daily rent. *We purchased, and Alabama Power installed, a Ronk BLOCKER to reduce stray electrical currents. When you think about staying at a lake house this is it. Sit down lake views from the family room plus a screened in porch to take in the view. We rented a boat and were able to tie up to the dock which was super convenient. Loved using the lily pad and noodles in the lake. The kitchen fridge had an ice maker and water. We would come again.

My husband and I booked for the weekend for our Anniversary. We planned to rent a boat to spend the day on the lake, but unfortunately it rained majority of the day. Barrett was very kind to not charge us for the boat rental though we had already signed an agreement. It is a very relaxing and peaceful home with gorgeous views. 10/10 would recommend and plan to re-book in the future.

We had a great time at Smith Lake for a relaxing fall break. It was me, my husband, our 8 year old son plus my elderly parents. I appreciated that the steps down to the lake were not at steep as other properties. We rented the boat one day and had a fabulous time tubing and skiiing even though it was October! Would definitely go again.

This house is wonderful! No clutter, clean, comfortable, new bathrooms…beautiful view of the sunset. The walk to the dock is easy, the lake water is gorgeous and clear. We had the best time! Also rented the owners pontoon boat - a blast - highly recommend renting the boat. We would definitely rent this house again and again!

We had a great stay; comfortable, beautiful views and relaxing. Online indicated 3 Bedrooms, 5 Beds, Sleeps 8; actually only 3 beds. If one family member had been able to come as initially planned, it would have been a problem. Suggestion- label light switches, add iron/ironing board, and set of mixing bowls. Thanks for making your home available! I look forward to returning!

What's not to love! The house was great, clean & comfortable. The cove was perfect location, quiet, clean water, great fishing. The sunsets were magnificent from the house and the new boat dock.
We also rented the boat from owners which was spacious and sooo convenient!

The property was clean and so comfortable. We spent most of our time on the quaint back porch. The beds were comfy and the kitchen is well equiped.
If you stay, renting the boat is a must. It was so convenient and great fun!

This property is in a great location! Very close to the Country Mall and Trident Marina. The house was very clean with everything we needed for our week long stay. You cannot beat the sunsets at this property, gorgeous! We had 4 teenagers with us and the bedrooms fit them perfectly and they loved the dock. We were also able to rent their pontoon boat and that was great. Barrett was a very responsive host to any questions we had.

We really enjoyed Sam’s Sanctuary. We were 3 adults and one dog for quick Father's Day trip. Just enough room for us to eat at the kitchen bar. The home was clean and updated with only minor imperfections. We really enjoyed sitting in the screened in porch, the boat dock sitting area, large floating frog pad was fun and we rented the pontoon for a day. TV’s where a bit of a challenge, but ran u tube channel from our phone. Only a few minor things, but all calls were answered promptly and owner is very responsive. Wish we could have stayed longer. We would rent again. Great home.

We had a great time and love the property. Weather was nice, and the water wasn’t too cold for the boys to swim etc. But cool enough for some fires at night and s’mores!! We’ll be back for sure.

We went there with our 3 kids which one is still under 1yo. House does not have many steps to the dock so we were not exhausted at all running to the dock and back. That is a huge plus on the lake house. Very clean house assuming that they allow pets to stay. Beautiful views of the lake from the house, dock is huge and has lots of extras for kids to enjoy the water activities.
Few flaws were - no close restaurants and grocery stores around, also there are no boat ramps close to the property. Closest one appeared to be 35 mins away, we brought jet ski's but were not able to launch because it was simply too far. Owner recommended few places that were within 10 mins but when got there we were politely asked to leave because these ramps are in a private communities.

My husband and I enjoyed staying in this home! It was clean, had privacy and beautiful views of the water. The location was not far from the Trident Marina which had an excellent restaurant The owner was very welcoming and willing to let us bring our labradoodle. There are some steps going down to the boathouse that need repairing. We loved using the boathouse to dock our kayak, fish, relax, read, and just enjoy the beauty of the lake. It was very peaceful and we feel rested and restored. Would recommend this home!!

The shocker beware !
We rented this house for a week. We checked in and went to the lake and swam and couldn’t her out of the water. The ladder at the dock give off a electrical charge when you grab it to her out of rhe water . The pantry in the kitchen was locked so all of rhe grocery you bring has to be stored in the living room .

Slice of lake heaven
We all had a fabulous time. The house is immaculate and perfectly described. The best park was the floats he provided. We chose not to attend the second day of a local concert. But we had a blast laying out and having fun. The kitchen is equipped with anything you might need including cleaning supplies. However, Saturday someone rented his boat out and I had a mild heart attack thinking someone stole it lol. We’re easy going people and it resulted in a good laugh. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves all weekend!!

Great mini vacation.
Lovely house with easy access to waterfront. Plenty of kitchen space so we enjoyed cooking every meal. Comfy couches to enjoy lounging around. The screened back porch was great all day from early mornings to watching the sun set. And all my family loved playing board games out there while watching the ducks and hawk that visited frequently.

Great Long Weekend at the Lake
Our group had a great time on the lake, but also spent a rainy day hanging out at the house. The screened in porch was great. Great location and great house!

Not as advertised
We were very disappointed in our stay at this property. The state of both the house and the pontoon boat are drastically different than advertised in the posting. The posting lists that it sleeps 9, but there are only beds for 6. The air mattress that was at the house has a major leak, and is not useable for a night. The state of the walkway outside is highly unsafe with plywood covering the crumbled stairs. It was extremely slippery and is an accident waiting to happen. There was mold in the master bathroom, there are lights that don’t work, handles and locks on doors that are broken, and the house was overall dirty upon arrival.
Another big disappointment was the pontoon boat. The rental rate was based off the rental rate at Duskin Point Marina. As such, the expectation would be that the pontoon would have been in comparable condition to a professional boat rental. We arrived to find the boat needed to be thoroughly cleaned, which we did. It was covered in dirt and the entire awning was covered in mold. We would not recommend this rental in its current condition.

Overall, we would definitely rent again. The host was responsive when the need arose to contact him. The home was clean, comfortable and well equipped.

Family Gathering
Wonderful place for three households and three generations to spend family time together. Big gathering area for cooking, eating and watching TV. Plenty of nice spaces for one on one conversations or alone reading time. The boat dock was my favorite for fishing and swimming. Way convenient to be able to rent the owners pontoon boat and avoid the hassle of the pickup and return to a marina. Only negative was some construction on a section of the steps going to the boat dock but will be fine once completed.

Southern Paradise
We enjoyed our stay on Smith Lake (the weather did not cooperate with our full plans) but the house is located in a beautiful area of the lake, is EXTREMELY clean and stocked with travel essentials! Despite the very high water levels we were able to take a few fishing charters and the kids caught some BIG bass! Next time around would definitely rent a boat to tour the lake! The screen in patio was perfect for morning coffee, evening meals and playing games while watching the sun set. Thanks for a nice family get away!

Breathtaking
This place is breathtaking! We went with our grownup children. We wanted to do something different to end the year and start the new one and what a way to do it! Sunset beautiful. Communication with the owner was amazing. Every question we had he will respond in less than 5 minutes. We took our food and cook everyday! We did’t need anything. We had everything there. We will be back! Great start for 2021!

Thanksgiving 2020
Our family spent Thanksgiving at Smith Lake, and everything was wonderful. The view of the lake is spectacular, and we had great options for short walks around the quiet neighborhood. The leaves were changing colors so everything was beautiful. We didn’t get to explore the lake so will be looking for a return trip in the summertime. The accommodations worked well for us with a lot of indoor and outdoor spaces to gather. The dining table is outdoors; however, there is countertop seating indoors as well as a small bistro table in the enclosed patio. We highly recommend staying at this beautiful home!

Great stay
The house was great, with an amazing view. The back porch and deck is amazing. Only negative we had was very minor - but the master closet was locked by the owner so there is nowhere in the master to hang your clothes. But, we used a closet in another bedroom so it was fine. The kitchen had everything we needed and had all new appliances. We would go back.

Family weekend get-away
We had a great time with our adult children just hanging out at this beautiful cabin. It has lots of room and plenty of private space. The screened porch is amazing and what a view! The appliances are all new and the modern updates made this a luxury stay. Parking is close and convenient and the walk to the water is quick with few stairs. We will be back!!

Cleanliness and appliances
Due to COVID19 we had carried food to prepare at the cabin. We were able to cook on the stove top and grill; however, the oven did not work. Checked the electrical box per the owners instructions, but we were unable to get the oven to work. Also, the sheets on one bed (if not all) were most obviously dirty and we had to wash them. Also, the walk to the boat dock was a little sketchy and wobbly.

Lake Weekend
Overall we had a great time, except for the first night where the AC wasn’t working upon arrival, but it was taken care of the next morning, after several attempts by the owner finally getting in touch with the HVAC guy. Everything after that went as smooth as silk. Very nice property, and neighborhood (very quiet). Loved the lake view, and the water all weekend. Would definitely recommend this place and will definitely consider staying here again
