I enjoyed my stay this summer. Unfortunately the property was dirty upon arrival and I had to vacuum the sofas prior to sitting on them because they were covered in dog hair. It was also advertised inaccurately. The dock to the river was sitting on the side of the cottage and not anywhere near the river. The meadow in the back was unusable because it was so overgrown with weeds and stickers. When looking out the dining room window there was so much junk it was unsightly. The kitchen was barely stocked with cooking utensils. I had to buy utensils for cooking, sharp knife, can opener, scissors, decent size fry pan and others. Also there was no WiFi for the cottage because the manager didn't know the password. I could connect to the managers WiFi but only in certain locations outside. Luckily I asked the owner prior to my stay about linens. He provided zero linens. The beds were advertised as queen but they were double size. I have noticed since my stay the info on VRBO has been updated to include that linens are not provided. The photos on VRBO are inaccurate as well. I believe I should be refunded the cleaning fee because I left the place cleaner than when I arrived. I enjoyed the owner very much. He was very friendly and nice to chat with. It's unfortunate the place is such a mess.

Beautiful small house right by downtown Guerneville.
Owner is very nice and helpful. House is cozy and comfortable. Beautiful view of the Russian River from the back porch. Had a great stay. Would definitely recommend.

Labor Day weekend
First impressions are usually correct ! With the spray painted address on a piece of plywood should make you run away ! The porta potty’s for the glamorous tents gave a terrible first impression... the house was fine even though there were two R V s with people displaced from the floods earlier this year living right outside the door.. the meadow was the highlight of the property as long as you were looking in the direction of the river ... the dock was also one of the better features of the property.. turn around and you see a unfinished construction project that’s doesn’t look like it’s going to be finished any time soon ! Very expensive for what we received! I would recommend that you stay somewhere else.

Location was great! Cottage was stocked, great views, bright & clean.
The cottage was in a great location in Guernville, just a 5 minute walk into town and groceries. It was adequately stocked with everything you could need. It was clean and bright, great set up for a weekend getaway. Great view of the Russian river, would love to come back in the spring or summer.

Perfect home base to explore the Russian River area
We stayed for two nights and cannot wait to come back again. Our congenial host Mario made us feel like we were at home. Well located in Guerneville (a five-minute walk to the Safeway) our cottage provided the perfect home base to explore the Russian River area. On chilly October mornings we loved the cozy wood-burning heater (along with electric heat), fully-equipped kitchen and comfortable bed. It also has easy parking and a nice deck with bbq facing the river.. The place has a full-channel TV, board games, cd player.

Can't wait to go back!!!
We had a wonderful stay in cottage #4! It was spotless and came fully appointed with everything we needed for a great vacation. The cabin had pots and pans, a coffee maker, a BBQ, private outdoor seating, and even puzzles and games! The dock was great - we fished and floated down the river right from our backyard! There was a fire pit, a large lawn with picnic tables, and it was a quick 5-minute walk to downtown restaurants and shops. The owner was fantastic and super helpful and we appreciated the dog-friendly accommodations. We will definitely be back.
The only thing to note is that it is a multi-unit complex with several cabins and glamping tents all sharing the same yard and dock. We thought it was a fun vibe (and would be ideal for big groups), but note that you might be sharing the fire pit, dock, lawn, etc. with new friends.

All you could ask for.....
Great cottage, great dock, Mario was fantastic. Float in the river right from private dock, fire pit for warming up post river, walk to town in 5 minutes ( best of both worlds ). Can’t say enough. Will be back.

A utopian fusion of river swimming, open field tent glamping and comfy nook cabins-A MUST GO!
There were about 25 of us nestled in this wooded nook by the Russian River. Was entirely peaceful, relaxing and majestic.

Great time was had by all. I can honestly not think of anything to say bad. We enjoyed the kitchen the most since we liked the cook a lot. Great distance from downtown and it allowed us to easy explore Guerneville. Thanks so much!!!

Nice family getaway
We were excited to be back at these cottages for the second summer in a row, having stayed in Cottage #3 last year (when it was through a different owner/rental group). We were really sad to hear about the fire, but thankful that Cottage #4 was available for our dates. #4 was fine for us (2 adults, 2 kids), though as others have said, it is a bit dated. Nothing luxurious, but you can't beat the location and private swimming dock!
Perhaps with the fire/work on the other cottages, a few things at this cottage were missed. The cottage was clean enough, but perhaps not thoroughly recently--there were noticeable cobwebs in a few indoor areas. Not a huge deal, but we just happened to have a very curious, crawling 1-year old so we were on the floor and corners a lot. The pre-arrival welcome packet also mentioned being stocked with basic condiments but we didn't find any (no salt, pepper or oil) which was a little bit of a bummer but we made do with what we brought. Just wanted to note that in case anyone is planning to cook.
Overall, we were pleased with our stay and as my husband pointed out, the small "negatives" noted above are far outweighed by having access to the river so conveniently! We loved being in the water each day, and I'm definitely looking forward to seeing how Cottages #2 and #3 are re-done and updated as I'm sure we will be back in the future!

Grace under pressure.....
We just stayed at the cottages in cottage 1.
A day before our arrival units 2&3 had a fire.
Regardless we had a great time, and there was no smell form the fire damages cottages.
This was a great property with excellent folks managing it.
Also nice was being able to walk into town for coffe in the morning or ice cream in the afternoon.
I can't imagine the hit their taking with the fire this season, so help them out and plan your stay here. Good folks.
Side note, I have affirms in a wheel chair and this place is totally accessible, wide doors, ramp from street level to front door, roll-in shower.... Cooking would be a bit of a challenge, but otherwise a perfect getaway.

Perfect location, ambiance, and value!
The negative: the cottages are a bit old (furniture and furnishings).
The positives: everything else!! The price point mitigated the fact that the furnishings weren't modern and that there were certain imperfections. The location though is seriously the best part of the place. They aren't kidding when they say there's a dock that leads straight to the river. Cottages #2 &3, have deck views that overlook the river. It's so nice to eat meals out on the deck. For the float part of the trip, my friends and I drove a bit up river and landed at the dock. It was perfect. The backyard lawn area was spacious and great to just hang out. We really loved the fact that we had a grill in each of the cabins and were able to have a great BBQ.
Go to the cabin first and see what they have before you go to Safeway, which by the way is literally RIGHT there. Also, the cabin is really close to taqueria la tapatia which is yummy!

Three Delightful Days at River's Edge
The two of us arrived late on a Friday night to find a very roomy, nicely furnished two bedroom apartment (unit 2) with a massive deck overlooking the Russian River. The beds, One King, the other Queen were very comfortable and dressed with nice linens. Additional pillows and blankets along with throws for a nap were thoughtfully arranged in each bedroom closet. There was a full sized washer and dryer in the unit, an iron and ironing board, too.
The kitchen is quite large and suitable for several cooks whipping up family meals. We had a great time relaxing, taking in the sights and eateries of Guerneville with a short walk to and from our river cabin. Sleeping was easy as the mattresses are high quality and the location is very quiet. We can't wait to book another stay.

Quiet, romantic cottage overlooking the Russian River.
To escape the cold Winter from the East Coast, we booked a 3 night stay at cottage #2. Our goal was to park the car and relax for a fews days before returning to the busier congestion of San Francisco. What a total surprise to find a comfortable cottage, south-facing to the quiet Russian River. ( The map shows the cottage to be on the wrong side of Route 116, which means there is much easier access than what indicates.) There was little traffic noise. The photos included in this website are accurate.
There were two nice sized bedrooms with washer and dryer located across from the bathroom. The kitchen and dining area are good-sized for a vacation rental - I'm sure groups who plan on entertaining would find it to be roomy. In addition there is a large private outside deck with propane BBQ grill and redwood picnic table with 6 chairs.
The local Safeway grocery story is within a short walking distance; so are some interesting local shops, bars and restaurants, and even a peddlers market on the weekend. There's no need to drive to downtown Guerneville, just park the car and enjoy the redwoods.
What would have made this weekend a bit nicer would be a soak in a hot tub under the stars. The manager did explain that these cottages were recently purchased by a new owner, who is doing extensive renovations and plans on installing a large hot tub in the final phase.
As a thank-you gift, the manager presented us with a bottle of Korbel champagne, which has a tasting room only 2 miles down the road. Hey! Guerneville is in the heart of Sonoma county's wine region...why not promote local products? Made sense to me.
While we found Murphy's Circle to be exactly what we were seeking, I will rate it 4 stars. This is not a Marriott but provided us with the escape we needed.
