The House was just as advertised and the bonus We did not know about was the wildlife sanctuary just down the road where you could witness hundreds of birds. Then there were turtles, rabbits frogs and even alligators. Great for evening viewing on the boardwalk.

Great home in a great location.. few minutes to Parris Island for Marine graduation. Fully stocked home, clean, spacious, cozy beds, walking distance to shops and restaurants. The bikes were great to ride through the quiet town. Host was amazing with check in/check out instructions. Would definitely recommend to any family that is coming to MCRD graduation. Thank you for sharing your home with our family!

The host was a good, fast communicator. Easy checkin and check out. The house was as described and very clean. It is the perfect size to host large families and groups. The house is stocked with all the basic necessities and Wi-Fi. The kitchen is well stocked for everything you need to make a home cooked meal for you Marine. It was great for my family ranging from kids to great grandparents. It is minutes from Parris Island. The drive to PI was 5 to 10minutes. The location is nice, tucked in a quiet neighborhood. It is also close to all the restaurants & stores of Beaufort. I highly recommend this Vrbo.

My grandson graduated from Parris Island. This is perfectly locate for easy access to the base, stores & restaurants. The house has a bit of a musty smell from the basement. I am sensitive to fragrances & odors, once you get past that it is fine. The house is larger than it looks with plenty of spaces to hang out together or in separate groups. We were only there for a short time so weren’t able to get out into the community much. The neighborhood driving to the house is a bit unmanicured. There were no loud noises from out side. It was quite peaceful. It would have been nice to have had a few more days to enjoy all the amenities. It would be a great place to plan a 7-10 family/friends trip!

This property was clean and it was nicely decorated with all the amenities that it stated on the listing & lots of room for our large family group of 8 adults. The only problem with property, besides the young adults teasing about the creepy doll in the basement game room... lol, is that the steps leading up to the front and side doors (adjacent to the driveway parking) were very rickety and made the elders of the group extremely uncomfortable when traveling up & down them.

This is an older property. Good floor plan with plenty of space. 1 block off Paris Ave (downtown), 2 blocks from Shellring Ale Works (brewery) and Fish Camp Restaurant).

House is beautiful, in a great location. Large and spacious. Game room has a lot to be desired, was disappointed with it. Open insulation in ceiling, can be very dangerous. 2 out of 8 bikes worked, but we spoke with owner, she was unaware of the bikes not working properly.

We LOVED this property! It has the right amount of space for the 6 Adults, 2 kids, 1 teenager and 1 toddlers that actually stayed at the property AND enough space to gather with 6 more family members who were visiting/live in the area. The distance to everything we wanted/needed was perfect…groceries, shopping, ice cream, coffee, pizza, seafood, fishing, Hunting Island/beach, and of course over the 4th, Fireworks! Port Royal is a quaint community and just absolutely perfect for a safe, family-fun getaway. BTW, the primary bedroom mattress was SO COMFORTABLE! Even better than my 18 month old mattress at home…Phoebe, what brand and actual size is that mattress? It was perfect! I just hope we didn’t have so much fun that we disturbed those in The Nest too much. Lastly, although we were leery of the basement at first, it wound up being the perfect space for the kids to have a bunch of fun.

We enjoyed our stay at the proud Mary in Port Royal. The house was fully equipped with everything that we needed. It’s very centrally located to Paris Island and downtown Beaufort, and just a short drive to the local beaches. Our family had a great time fishing from the Port Royal pier and riding bikes in a very clean friendly city. We will definitely visit this home again.

This was our second time staying in the home. First was at the nest and this time in proud Mary. Great home to stay in for a large family. Plenty of space and sleeping options. Owner was amazing during both stays.

We had a large group of 7 adults and 5 children and everyone was able to comfortably sleep at the Proud Mary with ease. Our twin marine boys graduated and were able to bring them home for their 10 day leave they spent one night at the house with us and mentioned how it was so nice and accommodating to be able to have a family meal and hang out with everyone in one area. It was clean and welcoming and close to everything. We will be back next year when my oldest son graduates the marines.

The pics do this property no justice. The house is gorgeous and very spacious. Phoebe answered all of our questions and it felt just like home away from home. We had the entire house (Proud Mary and the Nest) for the week celebrating our new Marine. We grilled, cooked, baked, played games. It was a blast. Will rent here again for sure!!!

This was a nice older home in good shape. The house was very clean. While we did not use the kitchen ourselves it was well stocked with what you would need to use it. Bathroom's we're nice with good pressure in the shower. Very quiet neighborhood and close to food and ice cream 😁. There is another rental in upstairs of house that I didn't know about, but it wasn't a big deal as they had an outside entrance to it and we didn't even notice they were there other than seeing thier car in the driveway. Overall very nice and would definitely stay there again.

Proud Mary is a beautiful, comfortable large home. With everything you possibly need to start your stay at the home. Definitely recommend it for anyone with a family. Plenty of room with two living room areas, and 3 bed room. The price we paid per night was also a plus!

Overall it was a good experience. The only issues we had were the game room was messy and also the pots and pans that were provided weren't in the best shape. We had to go buy our own to use. But other than that it was a nice place to stay.

Perfect location for larger FAMILIES heading to an event on Parris Island. Plenty of space to spread out and still be together. Being able to be together after some long days on base -- for dinner and dessert, swap stories, etc. Owner was easy to communicate online and everything was as described.

Really enjoyed our stay!

Clean, comfy, roomy beach house in a quiet neighborhood. Plenty of beds, linens and towels for our large family of 12. Port Royal is a nice quiet town, where golf carts are used by many neighbors rather than cars. It has plenty of shops and restaurants nearby, and is about an hour drive to Hilton Head. Sands Beach is a 10-15 minute walk away, or less than five minutes in the car. (I’d recommend beach shoes for Sands Beach. There are many sharp shells on the beach, and even sharks’ teeth can be found.). Since Sands Beach is on a creek rather than the ocean, tides are much less worrisome for younger beachgoers than Hilton Head or Tybee Island. Also worth checking out is Cypress Wetlands, even closer than Sands Beach. Right in the middle of Port Royal, the boardwalk allows close but safe observation of alligators, turtles, and many different birds. Checking in is easy, as is checking out. We had no reason to call for any concerns. All items worked well. We enjoyed evening movies and mornings drinking coffee on the front porch, watching birds, squirrels, and geckos. There is another lodging place upstairs called the Nest, the only impact being the need to keep the right half of the driveway clear for those guests. The entrance to the Nest is from an external door, so they have no access to the Proud Mary. We really enjoyed our stay!
