About this villa rental
The Gardens of the Kai is a small group of privately owned stand alone houses situated in the quiet, pristine area of Cayman Kai - a very private, exclusive part of beautiful Grand Cayman. The houses are set directly on the white sand beach, with gorgeous sunset views, and a fresh water pool, all in tropical landscaped gardens.
A very short walk from Gardens of the Kai you will find Kaibo - a rustic Caribbean Beach Bar/Restaurant surrounded by coconut palms. Here you will experience part of the real Cayman. With its downstairs thatched bar and upstairs white tablecloth formal dining, Kaibo defines both barefoot escapism and romantic dining. Caribbean cocktails or cold local beer together with local fish, salads, wraps and entrées hot off the grill while overlooking the sea makes your dining experience unforgettable.
For further sea adventures and dining options, a short drive or easy 5 minute bike ride away along the sandy road is Rum Point, with its Red Sail watersport outlet, upscale restaurant and famous wreck bar. For active travelers we offer two kayaks and two bikes. Just a short walk along the beach is “Robinson Crusoe” Starfish Point.
Gardens of the Kai beach is reef protected, and tranquil with gently lapping waves. No need to reserve a beach chair here. Just pick out your favorite palm and relax while listening to bird song and enjoying a gentle breeze.
Gardens of The Kai #5 offers single family privacy where you can fully enjoy your paradise vacation. The house has a living and dining area open to a screened terrace designed for outdoor living, casual dining and walk out to the beach. There is a fully equipped kitchen including a wine cooler, Keurig coffee machine, and comfortable tropical furnishings. In addition to the living/dining area and kitchen, the ground floor has a bedroom with a queen bed and a single bed and a bathroom. The entire upstairs is a spacious master suite with king bed, large closets & private balcony overlooking the turquoise Caribbean sea. Washer/dryer, BBQ, cable TV, CD/DVD, blue ray DVD, kayak, bikes, books, games, WiFi internet, and HP printer are all provided. Non smoking unit.

Sandy Bottom was the perfect spot for our week in Grand Cayman. We wanted to be away from the busy beaches and big resorts so we could really escape & relax. The villa was beautiful, clean and provided everything from towels to kayaks. We will definitely be back!

We loved our stay at Sandy Bottoms. The property was gorgeous! Awesome screened in porch and beautiful view from the Master. Fresh flowers were a beautiful touch upon arrival. The house was so clean and just as pictured online. We enjoyed the beach chairs. The water was calm and great for our kids. The closet inside had plenty of sand toys, noodles and a float. They were so kind and brought us 2 travel beach chairs that we used when visiting 7 Mile. There were 2 kayaks that we used daily. There was a 2 person and a single but it worked great to use the single kayak for an adult and youngest child. Property managers were super responsive as well. Bring plenty of sunscreen and bug spray! Loved our stay!!

We really enjoyed this property. The location is great and the beach is perfect for small children. Having a stingray tour that leaves from across the street was super convenient. Food and drinks at Kaibo and Rum Point were excellent. We’ll be back!

We loved the house and the area. Very quiet but still access to enough restraunts and activity. If you are looking for peaceful vacation then this was perfect!

This was our first trip to Grand Cayman and we definitely picked the right place for what we were looking for... quiet, beautiful, clean, and inviting. Everything was represented accurately. We were able to spend a couple quiet days away from the crowded areas and explore other parts of the island. Not a terrible commute to Georgetown and West Bay if wanted.

The property was perfect overall. A very peaceful and beautiful getaway!

Our family throughly enjoyed our stay here in Cayman. This is a quiet but very luxurious area full of very nice homes right on the beaches. Gardens of the Kai beach was great for wading in and spending time in the water with a cocktail. Further out snorkeling and there were starfish everywhere. You can see in the distance Stingray city. A beautiful location. The property was clean and modern. There were fresh flowers placed on the table in the screened porch as well as inside in the living room. A great touch!! The house was very comfortable and the views were spectacular! We walked (the 100 or so feet) down the street to Kaibo yacht club for food/drinks a couple times. Great spot and launch point for snorkel and stingray city trips. Rum point is another great spot we enjoyed for drinks and a dinner.
Overall a great vacation and the house was fantastic. Can’t wait to come back.

Gardens of the Kai has always been good to us. Beautiful location, and space to spend our week of relaxation, sun, good company, and fun!

We enjoyed our recent week at Sandy Bottom. This is a very nice property accurately reflected in the listing. We look forward to returning in the future for another stay.

My husband and I stayed here. If you are looking for a quiet and clean space, that is on the beach, then this is it. There are 2 restaurants nearby. All others are quite a drive to get to but we didn’t mind at all. We enjoyed being away from all of the hustle and bustle. We would love to stay here again.

Very good and quiet stay

The condo was exactly as described in the listing, location was super close to Kaibo Restaurant, the ferry to Camama Bay, bio-luminescent bay and starfish point. We had two very minor needs during a stay, and owner response was super prompt. Highlight was watching sunset from the beach in front of the condo, stunning!

The house was very well-kept and stocked and the location can’t be beat. We had beautiful and tranquil views of the bay and the kids enjoyed snorkeling. Rum Point is a great place to stay to get away from the crowds and have peaceful relaxing time at the beach.

The property was beautiful and right on the beach. Kitchen was well stocked which as minor as that seems is very very helpful so you don't have to buy condiments and seasonings if you want to cook. The beach is not a great swimming beach but the sunsets are beautiful.! Starfish point is within walking distance so we swam there. we took the kayaks out many times even kayaked out to the reef and stingray city.
There is a pool for the community and even though it's for everybody we were the only people in it the entire week.
Fosters, the larger grocery store is a little bit of a drive but we stocked up on our way in and then there is a little local grocery store which really had a lot of the small things we needed here and there.

We love the Cayman Islands, and this property gave us a wonderful homebase for a week. The master suite was large and comfortable, with the enclosed sitting area for a view of the ocean, large shower and the extra office space all air conditioned for comfort. There was plenty of space for cooking and relaxing throughout the rest of the home. We loved having the full use of the bikes because the area was safe and not too busy so we could bike to rum point, Kaibo and starfish point very easily, as well as the kayaks because the ocean was very calm so we could kayak to Bioluminous Bay, as well as the other locations mentioned that we biked to. The beach out front of the property was convenient, but we found ourselves out and about most often on Rum Point and only 1x to 7 Mile beach. We have snorkel equipment, and Rum point area is great for that activity. We saw 6 little squid or cuttlefish, 7 stingray (before we went to Stingray city), many starfish that weren't just at Starfish Point, 1 large Tarpon, 2 crabs, 1 Iguana, multiple hermit crabs, 3 upside-down jellyfish, and many beautiful fish. The Cayman's are beautiful and this property was the best way to vacation on Grand Cayman.

Loved our week here at Kai Gardens. The house is perfect - well appointed and well located with beautiful views. The beach is very nice - the water is not as clear as over on 7MB but is good for a swim.
We went to Kaibo beach club a few times for dinner and on our last night we went “upstairs” which was wonderful - otherwise we cooked / barbecued at home (did our shopping near airport - much cheaper than the local supermarket).
Kids did their PADI at Ocean Frontiers (very good) otherwise Silver Thatch is a good local alternative (snorkel, fishing and scuba diving).
We would most certainly return.

The property is exactly as pictured. The location is very quiet and peaceful, away from the chaos of the Seven Mile Beach area. We did make a few trips into Georgetown for excursions and to go to Seven Mile Beach but we loved being able to relax at this villa and escape the chaos. The pool is great and my kids were able to find several "pool friends" to swim with daily. The beach is a little grassy, not the greatest for swimming but the sand is great and we had several starfish right along the shoreline. We even had the bioluminescent bay creep into our water a couple of night so we were able to experience that just by walking out to our own shoreline. I would highly recommend getting groceries at one of the big grocery stores when you get to the city (or have them delivered, I heard there was a grocery store that would deliver for like $20) because the closest grocery store is outrageously expensive.

My family of four (hubby, me, and our two boys ages 9 and 6) rented unit #5 at Gardens of the Kai this past week and were blown away with how wonderful it was!! The location is perfect if you are planning to go to Rum Point, Stingray City, Starfish Point and Kaibo! We walked to Kaibo for lunches and dinners (the Tuesday night beach BBQ is not to be missed! Make reservations!), we took a catamaran from Rum Point to Stingray City with Red Sail, we had a family photo shoot at Starfish Point, and since we rented a car we were able to travel to the East End one day for the Parrot Sanctuary and Tukka East. This location is PERFECT! It’s protected from the wind and the sargassum is not super thick. It’s not the same crystal clear water of 7MB, but it is so quiet and relaxing that you won’t miss that hustle and bustle. The unit itself is beautifully decorated and comfortable with all the comforts of home! The whole second floor is the master suite and it is gorgeous! The second bedroom downstairs is perfect for 2-3 kids or 2 kids and grandma/ a nanny since it has a queen bed and a single bed. The view from the front porch is spectacular and you are a few short steps to the beach, with the complex’s pool directly behind your unit - like I said, perfect location all the way around!

Pictures don’t do this property justice. Beautiful, quiet beachfront location. Steps from Kaibo Beach Club. House was clean and everything was as described.

One of the most serene and quiet beachfront places I’ve ever been to. The water and sand are amazing. The house is extremely clean and all the amenities are top notch.
If you’re looking for a waterfront quiet getaway, this is it!!

This property is in the perfect location and the perfect size for a family with a couple of kids. It is right on the beach and comes with kayaks and bicycles to do some exploring. The entire upstairs is the master suite which is beautiful and everything is just well done here. This was our second year in a row at this property and we will most likely try and do it again next year. The last day of our stay this year we had an issue with power and the air conditioning. The property manager quickly got an electrician on site, and most of the power up and running. I really appreciated the quick response and was even given a partial refund for the inconvenience. That really says a lot about the owner, the manager, and the pride they take in this property.

The property was wonderful! Great location and beautiful beach. We had everything we needed for the week and the unit was very clean. Plenty of towels. Loved that it was peaceful and quiet. Only recommendation we would make is hooks for towels on the porch and in the bathrooms. Definitely would stay here again and hope we can someday!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, it was exactly what we were looking for. Peaceful get away on the beach to get refreshed but still be around restaurants and things to do. I will be back, in fact I’d buy it. The photos and description accurately reflect the property. The management company is very responsive to questions and issues. Beds are comfortable and the master shower is fantastic. Kaibo and Rum Point restaurants are easy walks from the house. The only thing I’d recommend is to bring a temporary sticky child safety latch for the screen door if you have young kids or kids that can’t swim. The locks on the sliding doors are sufficient for security but strong willed kids could potentially open them.

Best location on the island for a quiet pristine beach. Villa is well appointed and well stocked. View of the beach outside our windows. We enjoyed the kayaks and bikes. Highly recommend for a family looking for a get away from the crowds.

Everything about the property was perfect. The home (the layout was absolutely perfect for us), the view, the amenities (including bikes and kayaks), extremely clean, etc. On days when the humidity spared us a bit, we opened up all of the sliding doors to the porch and it was incredible. Large, private beach with lots of chairs and loungers. The "floor" of the ocean/water was almost entirely seaweed, which wasn't ideal, but the water was still beautiful.
Be warned if you're looking at going in September though. I'm not sure how I missed this in my research, and it isn't mentioned anywhere in the listing, but the area pretty much shuts down for the month of Sept. We read raves reviews about the Kaibo Bar and Grill - closed for all of Sept. We planned to take the Cayman Ferry to Camana Bay and Seven Mile Beach fairly often - closed for all of Sept. Rum Point Club - closed for renovations until at least December. We still enjoyed our vacation very much, and did the things we wanted to. And we picked Rum Point for the privacy and seclusion, which we definitely still got. But we were definitely planning on these things being available, so when they weren't it certainly took away from the experience. I really, really wish we had known this.
Again, the property itself was fantastic though. No regrets or complaints about that part whatsoever.

It was paradise. Private beach steps away from the home. Very quiet neighborhood that is exactly what we love. Pool was awesome as well.

Loved staying here. Beautiful decor, clean home, in a quiet part of the island, fully stocked of all the things we needed, which meant only needing to buy food. Would absolutely stay here again. The couch needs some attention - could use a good cleaning. And the mattresses in the downstairs rooms were not comfortable, but neither of those were issues that we felt impacted our stay too much. Home is located 45-60 min (depending on traffic) from other parts of the island, which we didn’t realize when booking (our mistake to not research that more). So we had to adjust our itinerary to lump activities on the other side of the island, to prevent driving all around the island each day. Loved having kayaks to go out in each day and a clean modern kitchen to cook in. Would definitely stay here again.

As advertised
Nice property and better than the pictures. Be aware that it is a long drive to the city and tours and charters are generally found there. Although the location was beautiful, we had to drive up to an hour each way for scuba and snorkeling charters. The payoff is no crowds or traffic at rum point.

Everything we hoped for
Visited May 24th thru June 2. The house is exactly as described and well apointed. We really could not have asked for a more ideal location.Beach is very sheltered and is even calm when startfish point is windy. Rum point was still closed and except for not having another restruant to go to ,the trade off was less traffic. Only ventured to west side of island once in 9 days. We spent alot of time on screen porch in the mornings. My son and I paddled over to bioluminecent bay one night and on another paddle to starfish point we counted 78 starfish. If you want to go dancing go to georgetown. If you want a quiet beach with plenty to do within
30 min stay here. What was a real bonus was , for some reason we were the only ones among the 10 units for 7 of of our 9 day stay. Except for a couple dog walkers we had the entire 200yd beach to our selves. pool and all ! Not sure where everyone was but we did not mind. Gigi the property manager was a gret help and supplied us with valuable info on snorkeling and other day trips.

Relaxing getaway
Great location, SUPER family-friendly (home, beach, ocean, pool, etc...) that worked out incredibly well with three littles. Very peaceful and a good contrast to 7 mile for those looking for a bit slower vibe. Would definitely come back.

Terrific stay at Gardens of the Kai
This was our 4th trip to Grand Cayman and Gardens of the Kai is our favorite place to stay. Unit 5 did not disappoint - very clean, easy check in, lots of space, kitchen recently redone with new appliances. The screened porch in unit 5 has a perfect view of the beach - it's like you're sitting on the beach, but you're in a comfortable chair with ceiling fan, shade and a screen! Our favorite part of Gardens of the Kai is the serene private beach. We used the kayaks that were included with the unit to explore the coastline down to Starfish Point. The pool in the complex was immaculate and always quiet. Note to those who are traveling soon - Rum Point is currently closed (we heard different reasons from different people on the island). We weren't too disappointed because Kaibo (a 2 minute walk from the unit), our favorite beach bar/restaurant, is open and doing a brisk business. There are several snorkel/dive tour operators who will do a pick up from Kaibo - we used Ocean Adventures for our trip to Stingray City and can recommend. Communication with the property manager, Gigi, was very easy before departure. We didn't need to call on her during our stay....because nothing went wrong! The stay was smooth from start to finish. Highly recommend Gardens of the Kai and Unit 5.

Great location, property, host!
The location was perfect, right on the water. The Kayaks and bikes were great to have and not having to worry about renting them locally was a big plus. The house is really well kept and had everything we could need. We had 2 teens that shared the first floor bedroom and bathroom which left the entire second floor master suite for my wife and I. It has huge walk in closet, massive shower, sitting area looking right over the water and even an office. It was amazing. The hosts responded quickly to any questions we had before or during the stay. I will go back here.

Fabulous vacation rental
Everything about this house was just wonderful! This house was immaculately clean, the view was beautiful. We loved having the kayaks and used them to paddle to Rum Point and Starfish Point. We got to swim with large sea turtles...one we found around the point at Rum Point and the other, much larger one, at Spotts Beach. We loved going to Smith's Barcadere...the water was crazy rough the day we went and it was run riding the big waves. A chicken tried to get in our car there. We loved Pepper's restaurant over on the Seven Mile side. The fish and chips were great as was their specialty, the jerk chicken. The ladies at the rental office were very kind. At one point, we thought we had lost our key and then our flight was delayed on our day of departure and they let us check out late. Check in was a breeze! We will definitely rent the house again!

Quite retreat
If you are looking for a peaceful beach this is it. Although it is far from town there is plenty to keep you busy. There are 2 restaurants in walking distance as well as a coffee shop with good breakfast goodies. For activities there is star fish point, rum point water sports, bioluminescence bay, and an easy quick trip to sting ray city and crystal caves. The beach and water is perfect for kids due to its calm waters. The only downfall was that they where doing maintenance on all units while we were there which included lift trucks, power washers, and other noisy equipment that kind of takes away from the peaceful environment. It definitely would have been nice to have been warned of this activity before renting.

We had such a wonderful time staying here. The home was exactly as it was in the pictures. We had plenty of room to spread out and relax. There is closet space galore! The best part was how peaceful this area is!!! The beach right outside of the home is not crowded at all. It was almost like having the beach to ourselves most of the time we were there. The water was very calm (no waves) and it was clear enough for some good snorkeling. We enjoyed using the kayaks too. We used the kitchen a lot while we were there and had all of the cooking and prep supplies that we needed. There is a small grocery store about 15 minutes away. They have a lot of the things you will need and they weren't priced too much higher than the large grocery store in Savannah. They even sell alcohol if you don't feel like driving back into Savannah. The home is on the more secluded part of the island but that doesn't mean that you are far away from everything. Rum Point is just a 5 minute drive down the road and they have all kinds of fun activities and excursions. They also have a couple of restaurants. Kaibo Beach is a VERY short walk from the home and we really enjoyed their Barefoot Beach BBQ (offered on Tuesdays only). Starfish Point was about a 3 minute drive from the home and it was definitely worth a quick stop. We actually saw several starfish in the water by the home so we could have skipped Starfish Point all together. We just can't say enough wonderful things about this home! The property manager was wonderful to work with and quickly answered any questions that I had. We had an amazing time staying here! This place is perfect for families or trips with friends! We hope to come back with our families and stay in the same place and maybe rent another one next door.
