There are 900 added square feet of porch, both screened and open, a vast great room with open kitchen is an exceptional gathering place with vaulted ceiling, large stone, wood-burning fireplace, multiple seating areas and stereo with built-in speakers.
There are four bedrooms, sleeping a total of 8 people in beds. Two bedrooms are on each side of the great room. One bedroom is a master with private porch, queen bed, ceiling fan and master bath with whirlpool tub and luxury shower. A second bedroom overlooking the mountain view has a double bed and bath. There are two club houses and a beautiful lake for swimming.
If you are unfamiliar with Monteagle Mountain, it is one of the most stunning natural areas of the Cumberland Plateau, designated nationally as a "bio-gem" because of its rich diversity of wildlife, trees, birds and other species.
Nearby Savage Gulf State Park has ample hiking and gorgeous more fabulous wildlife.
There are several award-winning restaurants, coffee houses and sandwich shops close by, and mountain shopping with crafts, pottery and antiques. The home is just 5 miles from the campus of the University of the South at Sewanee where there are numerous activities including the Sewanee Summer Music Festival.

This is our second time at Mountain View. It is a fabulous house. Some of the perks are completely stocked kitchen, beautiful furniture, great art and books, great games, wonderful porches and wonderful view. It was also within walking distance of the pool, pickleball and tennis courts,

Loved our stay for our college reunion at this beautiful home. Perfect location for two small families as a pair of bedrooms and bath are on each side of the home, giving privacy and comfort, while allowing us all to gather in the great room/kitchen and on the porch!

It is not possible to put into words the view that arrives at sunrise - ridge tops in rolling fog, clearing to the fall colors hidden beneath.
Had a wonderful (but too short) stay in this mountain retreat home. All as presented online and so much more - we will remember this weekend forever.

Absolutely beautiful house and fabulous view! It is within walking distance of pool, pickle ball and tennis courts and playground. The kids in the family loved that. The lake is a drive. The kids also loved swimming, in the lake, jumping off the dock and playing on the floats that were there. A wonderful Labor Day weekend for three generations of a family.

I would highly recommend this home for your trip to Sewanee. The view of the bluff was amazing! The home was incredibly well stocked and comfortable and the homeowners were very helpful and quick to respond with any questions we had. We will definitely come again!

My family and I had a wonderful white Christmas at Clifftops. We loved the layout and size of the house. Everyone thought it was better in person than the photos depicted online. Kitchen was bigger than we thought which was great as there were a lot of cooks moving about. We didn’t get to enjoy the large porch as it was very cold outside, but did enjoy the view. House was well supplied with nearly anything you might think of. Definitely would like to go back.

Very open home with a beautiful view of the surrounding mountains. The home was completely furnished with anything you might need in a kitchen. Highly recommended for a laid back retreat.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this lovely home. The Mountain Views were spectacular, especially at this time of the year!

This was our second stay at Clifftops and we were just as thrilled as last time. Such beauty, stillness and peace. Everything we needed was at hand. We were very blessed to be here and to spend time with family. The twins loved all of the games that were available. They ran straight to the basket of dolls that they loved during our last visit and about which they had been talking excitedly. Thank you so much Beth and Richard!!!

What a wonderful home! Terrific open plan kitchen and living area. The beds were super comfortable and all the rooms opened onto porches (screened and open) that looked over the most majestic view! The proximity to the new pickleball courts was definitely a plus for us! And, they had racquets and balls for us to use! Definitely a well stocked home!

6 adults stayed at this gorgeous mountain home. We were all so impressed with how well stocked it was. Most rentals have cheap toilet paper, no laundry detergent, etc. Beth had it all ready for us! She has spices, coffee filters, tons of different teas…and if you want to get really fancy you can make a nespresso with one of the many flavor pods that were there. And don’t get me started on all the books and games that were there! The view was gorgeous and it was a quick walk (less than 5 minutes) from the top of the driveway to the pool. I would definitely recommend this home!

Perfect for Sewanee Families!
This house has served as our ‘home away from home’ over the years while our daughter attended Sewanee. Over our stays, we’ve hosted visiting family members easily and everyone appreciates it's comfortable, spacious and family-friendly design. If you’re a Sewanee family looking for a location to serve meals, play games & relax (with a gorgeous view) then this is you’ve found your spot! Class of '22 -- YSR!

Easter on the Mountain
My brother and sisters and I were together for Easter for the first time in about 15 years and got to spend it with our son at Sewanee. The house was perfect! We hiked, played pickleball, worked a puzzle and played games on the porch, cooked together, shared meals with friends and hosted an Easter brunch and egg hunt for Sewanee students and families after the beautiful service at All Saints. There may be a few eggs found in the driveway island for years to come. The kitchen is very well stocked and has room for several cooks, which we enjoyed. It's also great for conversation between the cooks and those just enjoying the view. We couldn't have asked for a better weekend. Thank you!

The property was great. Just what we were looking for! Loved the open floor concept! The view was breath taking! Will definitely consider coming back here again! Nothing less than great and the property owner Mrs.Beth is the sweetest! Definitely recommend staying here.

Close enough to Chattanooga to spend the day at the Aquarium. Great screened in porch. It was the perfect place to drink coffee and relax.

Fantastic house
Loved our stay. Beth was very responsive and accommodating. Gate code didn’t come through which was a small challenge. The house doesn’t have quite enough towels when it’s full of people. But the view is incredible. The kitchen is a great place to cook. Fireplace was wonderful in the cold weather. Highly recommend this house.

Beautiful home with breathtaking views as far as the eye can see! Beth is absolutely precious!
We had the most amazing wedding weekend! Beautiful cozy house that welcomes everyone! The open floor plan and back porch are the best places to catch the stunning sunrises and sunsets! We will be back and cannot thank Beth enough for kindness and hospitality! You must check this place out!!!!

Unbelievable location
Outstanding weekend at Clifftops, wonderfully convenient for our many trips to Sewanee and Belvedere for wedding weekend events. But… the best part was coffee and breakfast on the porch watching the sun rise over the Cumberland plateau. Gorgeous. We did NOT want to leave. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home.

Celebrations Galore
Our time at Sweetberry was absolutely perfect. The views are by far some of the most stunning on the mountain. Beth went out of the way to make sure we had all the information we needed to have a successful party, including bringing up any necessary chairs and tables for dinner for 60. The fence on the cliff has been updated since the photos listed and it really made everyone feel comfortable with kids. We wouldn’t change a thing and are already looking for our next excuse to come back.

Fantastic house
The house is wonderful, with a fantastic deck including a screened-in porch and beautiful view. The location within the neighborhood is excellent; relatively near the front gate and a short walk to the pool. The host could not have been more responsive and accommodating. Highly recommended!

The PERFECT property!
I am local to the area of this vrbo listing but we were getting married and wanted a big enough place to have the rehearsal dinner. After getting the okay from Beth, we went ahead and booked the property and, let me tell you, we’re so glad we did! We had the absolute best stay. It is a beautiful home and we hated to leave. I have no complaints about this property and would 100% recommend it to anyone else. Beth is the nicest, easiest person I’ve ever talked to I’m regards to vrbo properties. Although we are local, we will plan on staying here again for the amazing view!

can't imagine a better experience
What I love so so much about this house and its environment is that it is comfortable with an astonishingly great view - and there was something for every single person in our group both in the house and in the Clifftops gated community.
The charming house had room for several generations of people- and the bedrooms are situated to give each family their privacy. The place is perfect for relaxing and reading- with a vast screen porch and great room. Plus it's outfitted with music, games, puzzles and a terrific kitchen, comfortable bed rooms and the wifi is easy.
the house is secluded on a deep property overlooking the mountains - but we loved that it is also in a gated community. It was a very short walk (5 mins) to the pool, tennis courts and even pickleball, which we had so much fun learning. And then, there is a private lake in the community, too and walking trails that are easy to find and follow.
We truly loved our time recharging at the is truly lovely home tucked away in gorgeous Sewanee, Tennessee and highly recommend it to all!!

My family and I had a delightful stay in our VRBO clifftops house. The surroundings of forests and the views of the Cumberland Plateau from the wrap around porch were beautiful. And the layout of the house itself worked well for our family of six.‼️It was well equipped with CD ‘s, games and kitchen ware. HOWEVER , the house was inexcusably dirty in many places‼️Large cobwebs were under several beds, baseboard woodwork in both bedroom and bath areas were full of dust and dirt, the rug in master bath was old and dingy looking, the large wall vent under thermostat in hall leading to one of the bed rooms was almost gray it was so filled with dust. And because of that , we never could get the right temperature for the house , it was either too hot or too cold. It seemed to us that one thermostat was insufficient for the entire house ‼️If it had another one , we never found it. All closets were mostly full of owners’ clothes and miscellaneous stuff scattered all over the closet. Just opening the closet doors might cause items to fall out. Several chests of drawers had little room to put our clothes because they also were filled with the owners’ belongings. One chest of drawers in a bathroom had no handle on a drawer and drawers would hardly open and shut, it was in such ill repair‼️ Soon after our arrival , when I was looking for a broom and opened the door to the utility closet , I found an extremely stuffed and messy closet and a large bag of dog food on the floor surrounded by many ants! I have taken about 26 photos to document these findings and want them to be seen by some one who is able to demand some important changes so other future renters will not have the same experience. All beds had too soft mattresses and few places to put one’s belongings. Please give me the name of the person or manager to whom I can email my photos of these areas of the house. i had several very pleasant conversations with Beth, the house’s owner, before we arrived . She was very accommodating always and was very surprised that there were no hand towels or washcloths in the house when we first arrived.I have rented numerous vacation homes for my family and hope to continue doing this. I have never rented a house that was ever even a little bit unclean and find it inexcusable and insulting to have been taken advantage of in this way by VRBO and the house’s owner‼️I would very much appreciate a fair return of some of the $$ $ I paid for this house.

I almost don’t want to do this....
I am conflicted about leaving a positive review.
We had such a wonderful time, or actually beyond wonderful, if that is possible. I am concerned that by leaving a deserved glowing review, more families will rent the house and we will have a hard time finding open time in the future.
And please understand, we plan on returning to this property, because we have never had as relaxing a vacation as we did this past week. The design of the home encouraged us to be together, which included our teenage daughters and their friends. From sitting on the porch, watching the sun come up, to reading books while thunder storms rolled through the mountains, we unplugged. Move beyond the house, and we played tennis on the nearby courts, hiked the well marked trails, swam and played. And everything we needed was close by, including a stop by the local outfitters when we realized a pair of hiking boots needed to be replaced.
If you desire a property where you can do as little or as much as you desire (you are on vacation after all) this is the place for you. Just please leave a few weeks open, so we can return next year.

Perfect summer weekend
The house was lovely, just as we expected from the descriptions. The screened-in porch was our favorite gathering spot, from sharing meals prepared in the spacious kitchen to enjoying the cool afternoon breezes and then watching the moon rise over the mountains. Highly recommend.

Beautiful Home, Stunning View
This was an exemplary VRBO experience. The host was fantastic and welcoming, and an excellent communicator. The home is simply gorgeous, and very well equipped. The house essentially has two master bedrooms - one on each end of the house; so it is a great layout for traveling with friends, or with adult children. The kitchen is spacious, and had everything we needed to make great meals - we ended up eating in every meal of our stay (as none of us wanted to leave the house!)
And the view..... oh! the view! It doesn't come any prettier than this.
Five stars, two enthusiastic thumbs up, and all the accolades for this listing. I look forward to returning some day...

Breathtaking Views
This is a great property with large kitchen and family room with spectacular views from the top of the mountain. The highlight is the huge screened porch that runs the width of the house. We prefer king size beds but we compromised on that to rent this house for the view which did not disappoint.

A wonderful Clifftops home!
I can only say positive things about this home and the owner. Hospitality at its finest and a wonderful escape. Thank you!

We traveled with our family of 4 adults and 2 kids (age 1 and 3). The location on the bluff is spectacular and protected enough to prevent a fall for the little ones. The house has a great layout with a large common room in the middle flanked by 2 bedrooms on each end. The kitchen, great room and dining are all located in the "common" area. The house is a bit dated but quite comfortable. It could use some basic upkeep such as changing burned out light bulbs, cabinet repair, a bit of tree / bush trimming on the outside (from the porch to the front of the house along the walk path) and TV upgrades (size). All in all, a really nice getaway that worked well for our family. Beth was easy to work with and communicated well.
