We really enjoyed our stay. We loved the house and location. Some of our favorite spots were Grindstone Point, McClellan Park, Raven’s Nest, Schoodic Point, and Lubec. We enjoyed sunrise from the beach in front of the hose. We also loved the Knotty Lobster!

We bought some fresh lobster from the owner's brother directly off of his lobstering boat! What could be better????

The home was well kept and very clean. Nicely decorated. The view of the shore was stunning! We saw a bald eagle and a seal! Everyone enjoyed the nightly visit from the neighborhood porcupine. Owner was very nice. Highly recommend this home.

We will definitely be returning to this property! It was everything we expected plus everything we could only dream of. This is a gem of a property. The view amazed us. This place was Maine to its fullest! One of the best experiences I’ve ever had. Thanks so much to the Strout family for fulfilling my dreams of a quintessential Coastal Maine vacation.

We could not have found a better place to experience the “real” coastal Maine. The house itself was cozy and well-appointed, with comfy beds, a terrific cook’s kitchen and a fabulous covered porch overlooking the water and – importantly – the Strout’s lobster boat and dock right across the street! We enjoyed a day in Bar Harbor – about an hour away – but also had time to explore some of the charming and less crowded hamlets nearby (Winter Harbor was a favorite). The sight of the sun rising over Petit Manan Bay, the moonlight in the evening, and the fog rolling in and out along with the tides created some unforgettable viewing. We also had a chance to explore the Wildlife Refuge only a few hundred yards from the house. By far our favorite part was connecting with Brian, who called us to come across the street when the catch was in so we could pick out our lobsters for an incredible meal.
We had no luck using the satellite TV service, but we didn't really mind - we were able to log in to our own apps on the smart TV.
Our stay in Steuben was a wonderful experience – one we will be happy to repeat!

Wi-Fi was extremely slow or useless. Description of property was misleading for the high cost which made us disappointed. A call to the owner for a simple problem was dismissed without satisfaction. Considering the high cost of the property the expectations of amenities were not met. No private bathrooms.

The property was really nice and taken care of. It had eveything you would need to stay there. The house is big enough for several people and is dog friendly. The views are wonderful there as well. Lots of wildlife deer turkey's and ect. Also not far from Acardia National Park and Bar Harbor. There are plenty of things to do and see.

We really enjoyed our stay in this beautiful home. Lots to see and do all within a short driving distance. The home had everything you could think of, and the views were magnificent!

The property is very well taken care of and very spacious. Several places to sit and relax while listening to the water. There is not AC but we didn’t miss it. We opened all the windows and were comfortable. People in this area are quiet and friendly. Would recommend as we would stay again.
Make sure you have everything you need before you get to the house. No stores near by for a quick trip.

The home was super well equipped! Such an amazing kitchen, and there was nothing you could have wanted that wasn't already there. The view was spectacular! We thoroughly enjoyed sitting out on the porch watching the water. The beds were super comfortable and the whole experience was just so relaxing!

Great house with wonderful local history. Nice, quiet place to come back to each evening after busy days in Acadia. Very comfortable for a family of 5. Great kitchen for cooking if you plan ahead with the shopping. Hosts quick to respond with questions/concerns.

We could not have asked for a better homebase for our first trip to Maine. We were looking for a house with updated accommodations but off the beaten path and we found it. Kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms are all clean and new looking with high end appliances and countertops. The kitchen has 98% of the hardware you willl need. Our family of four felt very comfortable with the size of the house and the bedroom arrangements. A group of 6 could be equally comfortable. The internet service is fine for maintaining email contact, but don’t expect four people to be streaming videos at the same time. It gave us a great chance to play games/cards which was exactly what we hoped for…less screen time. The location of the house is perfect for enjoying the outdoors. The shoreline across the street offers lots of beachcombing. A short drive gets you to great hiking trails right on Pigeon Hill Road and a 1+ hour drive gets you to Bar Harbor, Mount Desert Island, and the main section of Acadia. My biggest words of advice are to not overlook the hiking offered close by in the Pigeon Hill Preserve and the Maine Coastal Islands Wildlife Refuge. Both are quiet areas with little foot traffic but offer so many great viewing experiences. Brian Strout is the lobster fisherman across the street. We ate our share of lobster directly from his boat. He was very accommodating and also willing to answer any questions. Thanks to the Strout family for providing the home for our memorable trip.

Just LOVED this VRBO. The kitchen was fabulous. We loved the view out the front windows. The set up was great for one family to be upstairs and the other down for sleeping.. We enjoyed our fresh lobster dinner from the catch that was hauled that day from the wharf that is located across the street. Brian, the lobsterfisherman was delightful. We also enjoyed visiting Chipman's Wharf. We recommend the Sea Princess and Lul Lu Lobster Cruises Everything about the place was excelllent. HOPE to RETURN really soon..

My sister's family and I met at the property for a family vacation. The home was as described- but even better. Located on a quiet street with infrequent traffic and a gorgeous water view. The kitchen was amazing, well stocked and spacious. The bedrooms quite comfy and the large windows gave several sitting options to view the ocean. We were quite happy with our stay

Beautiful quietly located property near the water with absolute gorgeous views. Every and anything that one needs to get the total R&R. Internet & phone rarely worked, but we were vacationing to relax so really, it didn’t affect us as we truly enjoyed our stay and environment. Thank you

What a view from the front windows! We loved how the house is situated in the inlet, the proximity to good hiking at the Petit Manan wildlife refuge down the road, excellent local seafood markets, and also loved the cozy couch for reading and watching the water. Beds were comfortable as well. The kitchen was very well equipped for cooks, one of the best I've ever seen in a rental. Thanks so much for a great stay!

Loved being on the water. Home was well equipped. The oven was not working. That was the only issue.

The house was delightful, clean and had everything we needed for a group of four. Wonderful view of bay from the front windows. We watched the lobster boat out front get ready for the day at 5:30am, while watching the sunrise...when we could see it. We saw lots of deer and even had a couple of porcupines in the yard in the evenings. I swear I even saw a porpoise or two out there. Unfortunately the weather the week we were there wasn't the greatest but we made do. We spent several days on Mt Desert visiting Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park, we went north to Lubec, had lunch at Fisherman's Wharf and went seaglass hunting. (didn't find much though). Milbridge has a nice grocery store and restaurant. We stopped at the food truck there several times for Lobster Rolls and a container of Lazy Lobster (lobster out of the shell) Yum. Honestly, I don't have anything bad to say about it. Maybe stock a couple games for those crappy days but other than that, I would definitely stay there again.

Truly enjoyed our stay at your beautiful house. We enjoyed exploring the beach & the area. It's a little ways to everything but that made it so nice & peaceful.
My husband was surprised by no air conditioning for Summer months but first of September the weather was perfect.
Thank you for allowing us to visit!!

We had a wonderful time in Maine staying at this property. The owners were super organized, had everything set up for us as well as a lovely welcome note with extra info about the area. They were super responsive throughout our 3 night stay when we had questions. Beautiful house in a beautiful setting right on the ocean, highly recommend!!

We had an amazing stay. If you are ready to disconnect so that you can reconnect, this is your place. Walking the beach to find sea glass was a core memory moment. Sitting on the porch to laugh and listen to the water was wonderful. You can head into Milbridge (short ride) for groceries and a great meal at 44’ North. Bar Harbpr was an easy drive and well worth it.

Large home with ample space for our large family. Well stocked kitchen and amazing front porch. The view is amazing, we sat on the porch every morning with our coffee and every night we watched the moon rise over the ocean. It was magical!

Amazing property with beautiful views. On a quiet street with great hiking trails at end of road. Perfect family spot for beach combing and watching the lobster boats. House has everything we needed and tons of greats places to eat or purchase seafood close by. We will definitely be back!

Amazing trip! Beautiful coastal Maine!
12 thumbs up and we’d all come back in a heart beat! 10 stars if we could give them. Beautiful house overlooking Maine’s rugged coastline. About an hours drive into Bar Harbor/Acadia or find any number of off the beaten path trails or parks nearby. We spent a day just near the house on Pigeon Hill Trail just up the road (Amazing 360 degree views) and the Wildlife Refuge just south of the house (awesome hiking, wild blueberry picking, rugged coast,…).
The house was simply amazing and we would come back again without thinking twice! Thank you Strouts! The Wharf is a gem!

4 night stay for family of 3
We enjoyed the layout of the house. The kitchen was beautiful and very well supplied. The water view and quiet of the area was so peaceful. Nice place to be away from the busier areas but easy to get to Winter and Bar Harbor. Easy to find. Thanks for a great place to make wonderful memories!

Beautiful home and view in northern Maine
We really enjoyed our stay at this home in Steuben. It was the perfect size for my family of four and my inlaws and one small dog. We had plenty of room and loved the beautiful view. We enjoyed the moon rise on two nights. My son's favorite thing to do was look for seaglass on the beach. The location is about an hour from Bar Harbor/ Acadia, but we knew that and were fine with being more remote and seeing more of Maine. There is a grocery store within 15 minutes and some very good restaurants and ice cream places not too far away. The take out Mexican restaurant in Milbridge was very good as was the coffee shop at the Schoodic Gallery. We really enjoyed dinner at The Pickled Wrinkle in Birch Harbor as well (near the part of Acadia on the Schoodic Peninsula.) Don't miss Riverlily for great gifts in Milbridge! Overall we had a great stay and would love to come back to Maine again soon.

Our Motorcycle Maine trip!
Had a very pleasant experience renting & finding out information about our house. The Strouts were very personable. If you want to unplug almost totally this is the place-views- peace & quiet!Would love to stay longer next time! Was disappointed my long awaited whale watching trip was canceled though. Need to plan later in summer I suppose? Four of us rode from Ohio to Maine -everywhere is bike friendly ( except Mother Nature)! Would totally recommend this place to anyone wanting a “Maine”experience.
