About this house rental
This inviting and comfortable home is in an ideal location for your Stinson experience. It is merely steps to the beach as well as the heart of the village. Park your car for the length of your stay and walk to everything you need: the surf, restaurants, boutiques and grocery.
The site is unusually large for the neighborhood, so enjoys a private setting and plenty of parking. The outdoor areas are set back from the neighbors and spacious enough for large family gatherings. The lot has frontage on two streets with electric charging stations on both and plenty of on- and off-street parking for guests.
The house was constructed in 2007 with an open plan and indoor/outdoor living concept. The house is nestled between a large garden and a restored riparian zone (creek) on the other side. In 2022 a second story was built that added more living and sleeping spaces as well as outdoor balcony and heated terrace and views to the ocean and the mountain.
The heart of the house is the well-equipped open kitchen. The features include; a vegetable sink with filtered water, all stainless appliances and easy open layout with plenty of work stations so your guest are free to pitch in. The connecting dining and living rooms open out onto both patio and deck for seamless outdoor living.
There are three private bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms. The primary bedroom (#1) downstairs has a king-size bed, a double shower and adjoining home office with monitor and door to the deck. Bedroom (#2) downstairs has queen bed with private bathroom and Dutch door, opening to the creek side. The upstairs primary bedroom (#4) has king size bed, private bathroom, cathedral ceiling and views to the mountain.
There are three more sleeping arrangements that can be semi-private or private. The coop (bedroom # 3), is a super fun two-story space with French doors to the exterior, a twin, a trundle, and convertible full on first level. In addition, this space has a delightful lofted platform on the second level with a twin bed and views of the coast to the south. This room is an ideal bunkroom for early risers because it also has the interior stairs to the second level. The big room (bedroom #5) includes cathedral ceilings, view to ocean, two sofas with memory foam mattresses; an open lofted space with two queens; and en-suite bathroom. This airy space is also connected to the terrace with outdoor stairs connecting back to main living space. Lastly, the sofa in the living room downstairs folds out into a queen. This room has heavy velvet curtains for privacy from dining room and kitchen.
The original house was constructed with universal design standards: level-in access; bathroom sink, tub, shower and toilet all discretely designed for wheel chair access. More highlights include: radiant floor heat throughout, gas fire place, outdoor gas fire pit, nine exterior doors for easy access to the outside spaces, sky lights for light-filled house, laundry, outdoor spa and two outdoor showers.
The ideal location, private setting, and generous spaces of The Coop will help you create your next unforgettable Stinson experience.

The location was great, short stroll to the beach and town as the listing says. The beach at the end of the street is the dogs allowed section and there were a lot of dogs, so we had to walk further south to avoid that mess. Listing says 6 bedrooms but some rooms are not private, they are a three-way to get to other rooms f the house, and they don’t have actual beds, just pull out sofas. Beds is all rooms were very firm mattresses. Kitchen, dining and living area is small, would not suggest having more than the 11 people we had Although it says sleeps 20. Can’t imagine that May people in the space. The patio was nice with a BBG and propane fire pit, but all the propane tanks were empty so we had to take the tank from the fire pit to use on the BBQ. Overall a bit disappointing for the amount of money we paid.

First family reunion in several decades and this property was perfect! It held 15+ comfortably, large kitchen and dining room for hosting family meals every day and we made great use of the hot tub and outside patio for evening gatherings. Excellent location to beach and an easy stroll into town for shopping. Lots of parking spaces so no need to shuffle vehicles needing to come/go. Our VRBO host, Don, was responsive to all our questions. We had the time of our lives and we could not have asked for a better place to reunite a multi-generational family from across the country.

We cannot believe how lucky we were to have discovered this property. Our group consisted of three adult couples who needed to be in Stinson Beach for a few days. This house and property are fantastic, and was perfect for our group and needs. The layout of the house is just perfectly setup for both convivial gatherings and privacy when needed. There is plenty of room for everyone -- the property description is completely accurate. Location is sublime, you will be standing on the beach with about a 45 second walk. If you need it, the Stinson Market is about a three minute walk down the road. We all have agreed: we would go back to this property again in the future if we can be so lucky.

We had a family week at the beach and typically stay in Seadrift. However, this is now going to be out "go to" beach house. The house was fantastic with plenty of room for all 14 of us. The kitchen - living room was so much fun for movie nights and the big dinner table was inviting for gatherings. The beach was quite a stretch, a full 30 second from the house:) It was so perfect, we didn't want to go home. We are so thankful to have been able to stay there and can't wait until next year.

Unbelievable!
As a former 26-year resident of Stinson Beach, I was familiar with the town . . . but Not this house.
It met all our needs - close to "downtown", the Park, the
Beach! Roomy, lots of space inside and out!
The one concern going in: the weather! It turned out to be sunny everyday - with low tides available for perfect running and exploration.
I also can't thank the owner enough - for the attention to details and the flexibility (one dog added). It was definitely a Privilege to live on his property!

The house is wonderful and giant. This house is on one of the private roads that ends in the beach and is perfect for easy visits with small kids to the beach. It is also close enough to town for adults to walk easily and kids to go via the beach without having to move cars. There are many different areas to spend time as a group or have privacy. The house was super clean and exactly as described!

We greatly enjoyed staying in this house. Lots of room, 5 bathrooms (!), nice outdoor seating, and close to the beach. It had a very nice, spacious and fully equipped kitchen. I gave it 4 stars for description because we thought there were more actual bedrooms, perhaps with 2 beds in some. There were just 3 bedrooms with one large bed in each, but the rest of our group were quite comfortable in a day bed, a bed tucked in a balcony area, and one of several good sized sofa beds. There was also a loft with 2 beds (ladder), which we didn't use. Overall, a very spacious and comfortable house. We hope to come here again!

This house was great for our family and dog. Just steps from the beach, a short walk to town and everything you need to relax and have a great vacation. I love a rental that doesn’t feel like a rental. Comfortable beds, quality linens, and everything you need to feel at home. We all had a great time!

Property was wonderful! Lots of space for multiple families. Great open concept kitchen, dining, and living space. Wonderful outdoor spaces too! Easy walk to beach and downtown. Would stay here again. There were a few changes to the house from vrbo description, as the owner made updates to the home. I let him know and he updates the vrbo description right away. Great communication with owner.

It is rare to see so much thought and design go into a vacation home. The pictures speak for themselves. The host was very welcoming. The heated concrete floors and house battery backup (in case power gets lost which can happen in any coastal area) is the icing on the cake. Big house and outdoor area. Would highly recommend.

Everyone - every last one of us - loved our stay at Stinson Beach! Our ages ranged from my 7 month old grandson to my 70 year old twin
Sister and me. Big cluster of young adults in their 30’s. We loved the beach proximity, the spaces to spread out and the great kitchen for cooking. We fished and hiked and exploresd a few small towns- the requests are already in to do it again next year!

We stayed at Don's lovely home over LDW. Two families with 4 young kids (ages 5 to 2). Couldn't have asked for a better spot. House is clean, pleasant, well laid out, etc. with perfect touches (fireplace, loft upstairs for the kids, patios, heated upper deck). Hot tub worked great during the cool mornings and evenings. Just steps from the beach, so close we could just pop down for a few minutes. Well-stocked house in terms of gear (boogie boards, life jackets, etc.), kitchen items. Incredibly central; just 5 min walk into town. Didn't visit surf shop but almost directly next door so would have been great if we had surfers.

A stones throw from Stinson Beach, the “The Coop” is a perfect place for a large gathering or family reunion. The property is spacious, yet has an intimate feel, surrounded as it is by a lovely seacoast garden. Likewise, the interior of the house is roomy, light and full of warmth. Comfortably furnished and tastefully decorated, the interior is familial and inviting. The kitchen is well appointed and equipped to prepare meals for a large group. We had 19 people seated all together around two tables pushed together for our family reunion main event dinner. Cocktails and appetizer were on the spacious back terrace. The bedrooms are roomy and comfortable with one offering a cozy loft space with additional beds. Upstairs rooms are quiet even when there’s lively activity downstairs. Don Anderson is a welcoming and responsive host. The place was spotlessly clean when we arrived. A memorable event it was in good measure because of the setting. We look forward to gathering at the The Coop again before too long.

There is so much good about this Stinson Beach gem. Cozy and comfortable, steps from the beach, lots of room to spread out, gorgeous gardens. We were a family of 7 adults. We don’t get that many opportunities to spend a week together so when we do we want it to be special. This place worked out great. Lots of games and puzzles for nights in, and within easy walking distance to the town shops and restaurants. The only minor issue is that the main bedroom upstairs, which is the best room in the house, has a pull out bed, not a conventional bed. At first we were worried about it, but Don assured us it was a new design without an uncomfortable cross bar. It ended up being just fine, even for someone with back problems. We would have preferred this bed to be in one of the downstairs rooms and the king bed in the upstairs as the master (the bathroom in that room is fantastic), but it didn’t diminish our enjoyment to the place. All in all, we loved this beach house and the family is already talking about coming back next year.

We loved everything about our stay- the house was clean, well-stocked, and very nicely furnished. We loved the big dining table, the indoor/outdoor living and even in late October the patio was plenty warm enough for lunch and board games. And of course the location is wonderful- easy access to trails and beach. We didn’t want to leave and definitely hope to be back!

My family group of 4 had a happy, relaxing stay at The Coop. The location is ideal, on the ocean side of Hwy 1 and less than a minute's walk to the beach and a few minutes walk to town and to hikes up the mountain. The house is super-comfortable, with lots of attractive design details. We enjoyed gathering at the big table in the main living area for meals, games, puzzles, etc. The patio and garden are really pretty and feel private from the roads and neighbors. Nights were quiet, with soothing sounds of the ocean audible. Loved the concrete floors inside, and the wavy shingle siding outside. Communication with Don the owner was fast, easy, and pleasant, and he was patient with our slow learning curve on operating some recently-installed French doors. The house was undergoing some construction, outside of rental days, that Don alerted us to before we booked; it didn't impact most of the current interior living area of the house, which was very clean (there was just some minor construction debris btwn house and garage). We liked the fun outdoor shower, convenient washer and dryer, and nice hot tub. Cool pot-filler faucet next to the stove, too, with filtered drinking water. Our stay went by too fast; we look forward to returning for another visit in future!

Great property, great host
Very nice layout for the home. Liked that 2 bedrooms were ensuite and the bunk room was super cozy, spacious, and had a bathroom adjacent to it. The kitchen/dining/living all flowed together in the best way possible. Don was very responsive and even texted to make sure we got in OK and that we didn't have any questions or issues.

Ideal house and location!
The Coop was the perfect place to celebrate my 60th birthday with friends. The house was well laid-out, the garden was beautiful and inviting, and the beach and town were so easily accessible. I honestly don't know how it could have been any better. We had 14 people at one point and it didn't feel crowded in the least. Three full bathrooms definitely helped, plus the ease of indoor-outdoor living. It was also extremely helpful to have a load of parking available. Thank you for being responsive and helpful, Don, and for sharing your lovely home. We will definitely be back.

What a wonderful place to stay
We stayed at the Coop for our very small wedding at the beach. It has everything you could want for in a house. We have stayed at Stinson for the past ten years and never had such a accommodating home to stay at. Everything is better than advertised. 1 minute walk to the beach. 5 minutes walk to town. Updated with all the fixings. And we loved that the house is environmentally friendly. 11/10 enjoyed our stay. Will be coming back next year

Great Stinson beach house!
Spent a week at Don's lovely house in Stinson with friends and family. You cannot beat the location, walking distance to town and just five house to the sand. The layout of the house was wonderful, three bedrooms with three bathrooms all spaced away from each other. All beds were comfortable, even the bunkroom can be used by adults as it has 2 queens on the bottoms. The living, dinning and kitchen areas were great places to hang out, plenty of room and cozy. Kitchen was amazingly stocked with tons of stuff for a rental.
The garden was like a little oasis....private with such pretty plantings. Hot tub was a really nice treat too.
Only thing to note that caused us a little stress was that the property was not fully fenced (there are no gates at the entry points) so if you have doggies you have to be careful to keep an eye on them when outside. There is makeshift fencing we used to block one driveway but the other side was still left wide open and there were breaks in the fence.
Don was super responsive and helpful, will definitely be back!

A wonderful retreat a stone's throw from beach
My family just spent a week at the Coop and absolutely loved it. Our teens continued to do Zoom school and my husband and I were also plugging into Zoom for meetings but the wifi handled the load no problem. More importantly the house is lovely. Everything is in great shape, very well equipped kitchen, cosy living room with great lighting, comfortable beds, great showers, all in all a delight. The garden is a wonderful oasis and the beach is less than a minute away. Hot tub is large and private and in great shape. We had a power outage during our stay and Don was right on it helping us set up a generator so we were hardly inconvenienced. You can't be this for a Stinson stay!

A perfect family getaway
We came for a week and everything was great. The place was better than expected; the master bedroom was comfortable with a desk and updated bathroom. The living room has a gas fireplace & heavy curtains that you can close to separate the cozy space from the dining area. The open floor plan in the kitchen/dining area is central for entertaining off both outdoor spaces in the double lot. There is an outdoor shower & hammock in one yard, and garden, outdoor dining, bbq & fire pit on the other side with a walkway to a “secret garden” like hot tub area. My teen stayed in the 2nd bedroom en suite, and my youngest had the bunk room with her own bathroom at the end of the hallway. There is a lot of parking, like 8 cars maybe, which is more than expected at most Stinson bungalows. We could have used more beach towels & boogie boards...I may have missed those details in the listing info. It’s convenient to walk into town or meet friends at the public beach. And it’s a pet friendly street & beach!

Peaceful week in Stinson
A lovely home with an extremely well appointed kitchen. Great pans for cooking, hood for the stove, etc. And such a close walk to the beach, and wonderful set up for dogs (even though ours was injured and had to stay in the crate the whole time). Don was incredibly helpful and responsive.Great Wi-Fi also really helped with online school and work meetings. Would definitely come again!!
