I've thought about how to put this place in words, and I don't think I can do it justice! Ron and Katya were awesome and the whole grounds are amazing. Ron has thought out every detail of this place. I joked with him all week I was going to figure out something he needed but I never came up with it! There are so many little extras around this place that you don't think of. From spices and condiments in the kitchen, to a washer and dryer and detergent in the cabins. The outfitter closet was a great addition as well. Stocked with fishing gear, nets, waders, and hip boots. All things you didn't have to purchase or rent since they were already there. Several docks to fish, and a grill at every cabin to cook your catch! The fire pit room is one of the coolest things about the place. You lose track of time in there in the evenings before you know it! We haven't been home a week and I'm already trying to figure out how to get back! Most amazing trip ever!

Having a bit of experience on the Kenai river I was amazed at how tranquil this property was. You could see and hear nature at its finest.
The property was immaculate with every thing you needed to make your stay complete readily available. If you didn’t have all you needed it was just a short run to Sterling, Soldotna, and Kenai.
The hosts went above and beyond to insure your wants and needs were attainable and that your stay was complete. Ron and Katya are very knowledgeable of the area and readily share the information in hopes to insure your adventure was complete. They were also great at scheduling any excursions with local guiding services. We were schedule for a fly in trip for remote fishing and bear viewing. When Mother Nature kept us from our trip, Ron as well as the folks at Talon Air did all they could to reschedule in the time we had available. My suggestion when planning such excursions would be to schedule early in your stay as they will do all they can to get you out in the time you have allotted.
Thanks Ron and Katya for a wonderful time.

That is what my son stated when we returned to Michigan. The reviews are correct in that Ron and Katya think of everything and Ron was tremendous in helping us book all of our fishing trips. We had an incredible time and would not hesitate to stay at Eagles Nest again. The accommodations were immaculate and extremely comfortable and affordable. The location is private and quiet but close enough to get around easily to the numerous opportunities that present themselves on the Kenai Peninsula. I highly recommend that you book with Eagles Eye!

Ron, I want to thank you for a great experience! Your hospitality and the extra “little things” made our visit wonderful. Your place on Kenai River is beautiful. Easy access to local supplies and fishing locations gave us more time on the water to enjoy beautiful Alaska. We’ll definitely be back!

We stayed in the eagles nest the property is immaculate. Ron and Katya were the best hosts we have ever experienced in all our vacation rental stays. It was like going to a full service lodge. The pavilion is unreal and a great place for all the fishermen to tell their stories of the days events. Fishing on the kenai was unreal caught our limits in 2 hours both days we fished. Ron hooked us up with an excellent guide Sean Smart. Property is right on the river if you want an experience of a lifetime don’t hesitate booking this property. Fish on!

Ron and Katya have built an amazing spot in Sterling on the banks of the Kenai River. The Eagles Nest was beautifully appointed and looked like it was finished just before we got there, but indeed was not - it's just maintained that way! There are a couple flights of stairs to get up, but they are wide, well lit and covered in an amazingly soft carpet. The sitting area/living room/full kitchen was very comfortable and great to have available to us during our three nights there this past September - very useful to keep our drinks and lunches ready to go in the morning for our days fishing the river. The bedroom was well appointed and comfortable, and the bathroom was huge, with a nice sink/vanity, full shower with two different heads, and a washer and dryer that came in very handy during our two plus week stay in Alaska. Ron checked in with us the day were arriving to make sure all was good, was available during our stay, and even checked with us to ensure a clothing item he found wasn't ours. Just 15 minutes from Soldotna, it was perfectly placed for our three days fishing three different sections of the Kenai, and would be a wonderful base of operations anytime of year. With handmade wood products through out, Ron and Katya and have truly built a warm and cozy home away for home for whatever brings your to the Kenai Peninsula!!!

Everything "Amazing" from the host and furnishings to the Little Piece Of Heaven on the shore of the Kenai River. Very quite and peaceful. Caught some great tasting Sockeye Salmon from the perfectly placed platforms. Thank you Ron & Katya for everything, especially the night light!

Great stay!
We really enjoyed our stay at this lovely property! Ron was very accommodating. The property was very nice and clean. Katya thought of every detail for the property. We enjoyed fishing off the back dock, roasting s’mores in more than one fire pit, and had very comfy, restful sleep in the well appointed bedroom!

Excellent in every way!
We were thrilled! Beautiful location, impeccable grounds and the attention to detail in the accommodations deserves more that 5 stars. Comfortable beds and pillows, very clean from top to bottom. Kitchen had everything we needed so we were able to pick up the basic groceries for our week long stay.
We are new to fishing, Ron organized 2 days of guided fishing trips, one day on the Kenai River and one day on Kasilof River. Our guides were the best! Professional and superb instructors. We had a successful exciting fishing trip. On the off days were able to tour the surrounding areas. Ron is knowledgeable of Alaska and helped guide us where to go.
There is a wonderful enclosed pavilion we also enjoyed. Complete with a fire pit, tables and music. And again our hosts made sure we wanted for nothing!
Thank you so much! We'll be back!

Ron and Katya have a fantastic property and are wonderful hosts. We had a relaxing stay with all the amenities you could possibly want plus more. We loved it! You will not be disappointed. Can't wait to go back!

Exceeded our Expectations!
My wife, 18 and 16 year olds sons and myself stayed in the Eagle's Nest at Ron and Katya's place. We had an amazing time! We all commented on how this was the cleanest, most comfortable VRBO that we have ever stayed at. There are many great things to list, here are a few: Ron gave us the space and guidance that was needed, he helped us out with fishing gear and fishing spots, he helped us with getting our fish processed and frozen, he helped us book all of our day trips and adventures, he helped us out with places to eat and places to explore. We can't think of anything else that Ron and Katya could have done to make our Alaska experience more enjoyable. They went way above and beyond with the help and services that they provided. They both have huge hearts and are very kind. We have already booked again for next year.

What an incredible property! Everything you need is provided for you. The furnishings are top notch. Ron and Katya were incredible hosts. They were there to help with anything we needed. Ron even let us borrow waders and Fishing poles to try our luck “flossing” for Sockeye. He Was there to help us with anything we needed or had questions about. It felt like we were staying with friends. We cannot wait to come back!!

Fantastic property on The Kenai River
Ron’s place was perfect for our group of 4. It was very comfortable and well appointed. The location was great for fishing and a day trip to Homer. Ron was very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. He also helped locate an excellent fishing guide for us. Highly recommended.

Great Place and Great Owners!
My wife, child and I stayed in Eagle’s Nest for over a week in August. The property is well kept and beautiful. This place has easy river access and all high quality amenities. The river is right in the back yard! There is plenary of room and great views. I can’t say enough wonderful things about this place!
The owners were very helpful. Ron and Katya bent over backwards to help us and made us feel at home. I highly recommend renting from them. We can’t wait to come back. Also, we caught a ton of fish!

Amazing and wonderful!
This is my second time staying at Ron and Katya's property and my experience was absolutely amazing again! Ron and Katya are great hosts and their property had everything that we needed for our fishing trip. You could fish on the property and caught a few right there (nice new fishing platform their built) - but Ron is very knowledgeable regarding the area and he knows where to send you if you're looking to catch a large fish bounty :) Ron even taught us methods on how best to process our fish so that they're ready for our trip back home. If you're looking to come to the Kenai area for fishing or to just relax and enjoy the scenic views that surround the area, I highly recommend staying at Ron and Katya's place. They're also making continuous improvements to the property to make their guests' experience an even better one. Looking forward to all the new additions that they're working on. Will definitely be back to stay here again!

Great week!
Hats off to Ron and Katya for providing an outstanding Alaskan experience! The Eagles Nest exceeded our expectations for quality of property, comfort, cleanliness and use of fishing equipment. The owners are knowledgeable, friendly and want to help you enjoy your time on the Kenai peninsula. So glad we stayed - we will be back!

Nice Sterling Hideaway!
The property was very nice and well kept. Our host (Ron and Katya) were very helpful and knew the lay of the land. The river is right down the hill with great views. The hill could be a little tough if you had any health issues, but otherwise the steps down and short walk were not bad.
We didn't spend as much time at the property as we might have liked because of the abundance of things to do in the area. Ron gave us good info on places to eat and things to see and do in the area.
Overall a very nice comfortable place with a great location on the Kenai river!

Great place to stay. Wonderful hosts.
Two of us stayed at the Eagles Nest for a week. They call it an apartment but it as nice as any house, and has all the amenities you could ask for. The view from the deck is just incredible. No expense has been spared, from the comfortable beds to the washer and dryer. Ron and Katya are great hosts and very nice people. Truly enjoyed our many conversations. Anything they can do to make your vacation better, they will try their best to accommodate! Highly recommend to anyone wanting a clean, quiet, and comfortable place for their Alaska vacation. Will definitely be coming back to stay here! Todd&Beth

Alaskan Dream Vacation
Thanks to Ron and Katya for sharing their amazing home with us and for making our Alaskan dream vacation a reality. They are the most friendly and helpful owners we have ever rented from. I talked to Ron several times on the phone prior to our trip to get advice on all things Alaska. He arranged a fishing trip and float trip for us. When we arrived at the Eagle's Eye apartment we couldn't believe how pristine and comfortable everything was. The apartment over the garage is like brand new and had everything we could possibly need including a washer/dryer and the most comfortable beds of our entire vacation. The first night we saw bald eagles flying over while relaxing on the apartment deck. We fished right from the bank in the beautiful blue-green Keni river and enjoyed s'mores cooked in the fire pit by the water. Ron even loaned us some fishing poles, taught us how to fish and told us the best place to go to get in the action. The location is peaceful and quiet. It is centrally located with easy day trip access to all kinds of adventures. If we make it back to Alaska we will be staying here again. Thanks again Ron and Katya

Our family truly enjoyed our stay at Eagle's Nest and Wolf Den! Perfect location on the Kenai River - beautiful and secluded but easy access for shopping and day trips as needed. Soaring High in the Eagle Nest
The Eagle Nest apartment provides great views of the Kenai River and mountain ranges. This is a new apartment above Ron's 3 car garage/workshop and was very peaceful. The apartment is very well insulated and soundproofed and the quiet neighborhood allowed us to sleep with the windows open and enjoy the fresh air. The kitchen was well stocked with most items needed for cooking. The full sized washer, dryer and provided laundry detergent are a very nice features. The dual head oversized shower was great after long days of fishing or sight seeing. The king size bed was very comfortable. A full sized freezer is provided to preserve your catch until you return home. We had a later flight and were able to keep our fish in the freezer after checkout and picked them up on our way back to Anchorage from Soldotna.
Ron and Katya's hospitality were incredible. Ron helped setup a Fly Out fishing trip for us to Wolverine Creek. We also were fishing for halibut out of Homer and had not planned on fishing from Ron's property. We had never fished for Red Salmon before so Ron setup a couple of poles for us, started a fire in the fire pit by the river, and gave us some fishing lessons on flossing reds.
My wife and I really enjoyed our stay and highly recommend staying here.

Wonderful times on the Kenai River!
This property and location was awesome for our group's fishing trip, the owners have really thought of everything! The Eagle's Nest is new, very well done and had everything we needed to make our fishing vacation comfortable and enjoyable. The Kenai River frontage was perfect for doing some fishing, enjoying the river and safe for kids. Campfires and relaxing at the rivers edge were a great way to relax after enjoying the day in Alaska.
Highly recommend staying @ the Eagle's Nest, the owners went above and beyond to make sure we had a great vacation!
