About this house rental
More information can be seen on the 'Harrison Historic House' .
A three minute walk straight out the front door puts you standing on a beautiful white sandy beach on the Gulf of Mexico. Beautiful historic Victorian home built in 1900 situated on Second Street in a very established and charming neighborhood graced by lovely plantings including camellias and numerous towering live oaks.
This neighborhood affords the opportunity for great walks with your family or your dog. This home has been completely updated and features the original high ceilings and heart pine floors. A wrap around porch with wicker furniture and a double 'love' swing greet newcomers as they ascend the front porch.
The front door opens to a spacious living room with plenty of seating and television for entertaining. To the left are French doors that open to a lovely front reading room abundant with windows and natural light allowing house guests to get lost in their favorite novel. This room with hard pine flooring and high ceiling is furnished with antiques and tiffany lamps. The cozy couch opens up to a queen sized bed for your invited guests. The oversized formal dining room has a built-in cabinet with hard pine flooring and high ceiling. A wonderful setting to 'wine and dine' your family and guests.
The main floor has two bedrooms each with a queen sized bed and adjoining bathroom. The staircase leads to a separate bedroom upstairs with bathroom. The upstairs bedroom has numerous windows. The beckoning beach and beautiful Gulf of Mexico can be seen in the distance. The room is furnished with two queen beds. A perfect room for a couple with kids or a place for all the kids. Two of the bedrooms have their own TV.
The kitchen is a full sized kitchen including an island with stools and a dining table. The kitchen is the centerpiece of the house and its beauty will pleasantly surprise you. The kitchen's back door opens onto a very spacious wood deck as well as a brick patio both fully furnished with furniture as well as a gas grill. A very beautiful and spacious backyard with live oaks and copious amounts of shade await your coming. The property spans four city lots and therefore has plenty of room for parking vehicles for 'Cruisin' the Coast' and for your boat and trailer or camper.
Downtown Gulfport is a short walk away. If you enjoy long walks the ISLAND VIEW CASINO RESORT is also within walking distance. The gaming destinations along this 26 mile beach are second only to Vegas.
The 26 mile long beach is a gorgeous beach to explore with numerous wharfs, beach activities, shopping, beachcombing, and restaurants. Biloxi with its numerous casinos is just a few minutes away by car, bike or the local transportation.
The beach is home to the charming, small southern towns of Long Beach, Pass Christian and Bay St. Louis which are great for shopping for antiques. The area has over 20 golf courses including one of the 'top ten' public golf courses in the country. The casinos and Biloxi coliseum offer grand entertainment and numerous live shows. The fabulous and historic town of New Orleans is only an hour away.
The Gulfport harbor offers daily excursions to Cat Island. The Gulf Islands National Seashore is only a dozen miles off the coast and affords great swimming and a quiet place to hang out on your boat.

We loved the house and the location was fantastic. We walked to several local coffee shops, the beach, and local eateries. The house has plenty of room, the porch is wonderful, and the back deck is an added benefit. I would definitely recommend this for your next stay!!

Property was beautiful! Well kept and redone old home! Very well stocked with kitchen items! Great communication with property manager!

The stay at the Historic Victorian Home was great, My group consist of 8 adults. The house accommodated my group with no problem.. The only hiccup was the listing stating 4 bedrooms but it was only 3 bedrooms with a large room with a sofa bed and 3 bathroom rooms. Check in was a breeze and we were able to check in before the allotted time which was a plus. The owner answered promptly with the little issues that we had. All in all the stay was great and will be using the house again.

Where to start? Harrison Historic House is the perfect home for our family and 2 pups. From the living room with flat screen TV to the stunning kitchen and beautifully appointed dining room set the stage for creating cherished memories.
The spacious bedrooms all had comfy beds and are beautifully decorated. We loved the fenced-in yard sitting area on the front porch.
Great location … easy walk to great restaurants and the beach.
Our host, John, was always available to answer questions and share details about the house to make our stay even more comfortable.
We won’t stay anywhere else when visiting Gulfport.

By far the best and cleanest VRBO we’ve ever stayed in. Excellent communication with the owner/manager. Would definitely stay here again if I get the chance. Couldn’t have asked for anything better. Very comfortable and spacious. We rally loved the house!

The pictures don’t do this house justice. Beautifully maintained old home with both historic features and modern conveniences. The kitchen is stocked more than any other I’ve stayed at. Location was perfect. Host was awesome! We will be back.

We truly enjoyed our stay at this property. The house fit our family of 9 perfectly. It was conveniently located to many attractions and easy to get to the beach. We spent many hours hanging out in the spacious kitchen or playing games around the dining room table. We also loved the front porch! The home was beautifully decorated and very inviting. Everyone talked about how comfortable the beds were as well. And the owner was very informative and quick to respond with any questions we had. The only downside was the sound of the train, which was loud when you were sitting on the back deck or if it passed in the middle of the night/early morning. But didn’t dissuade us from all agreeing that we would stay here again if given the opportunity!

Completely satisfied. Will stay again in the future.

The renovations to this awesome early 1900's home are amazing, great kitchen that was beyond well-equipped, the house was perfect for three adult couples, with three full baths and bedrooms that are separated from each other. (NOTE- washer and dryer is in the upstairs bedroom's bathroom, so if someone has mobility issues just be aware.) Great restaurants close by and lots to do, 90 minutes to New Orleans and 20 minutes to Biloxi. Hosts were fantastic!

Owner was very responsive and provided all needed info. Very clean. We had our family Christmas gathering there. The kitchen is well equipped with lots of work surfaces. Large dining room provided sufficient space for a sit down meal. We all enjoyed our stay. One correction to listing is there is 3 baths not 4 but this was not a problem for us. I would consider staying again.

The house was delightful, nice size for the five of us. Plenty of room. Each bedroom with its own bath. Kitchen was modern and well stocked, although we ate out mostly. Shaggy's right around the corner. Great food. Coffee shop close by too. Location is half way between Biloxi and Long Beach. Few steps to the beach and beach rentals. All in all a great location. Hightly recommend for Gulfport visit.

The house is beautiful and quaint, and only one block from the beach. We met the owners and they are wonderful people.
Without a doubt, the next time we visit the Mississippi gulf coast we will stay in this house.

We loved this house. Pics online must be older bc parts of the house had been updated (didn’t change accommodations- just different looking). Awesome location. Awesome host. Will definitely be back!!

This home is beautiful and clean. The fenced in backyard is awesome for kids or pets, with plenty of seating. The front porch also has seating and the porch swing is a nice touch.

We loved this house! It has so much space and the bedrooms are spread out in the house. There is fully stocked kitchen with beautiful dishes. We had the house for a week for Christmas. It was warm and inviting and felt like home, not a rental. The host John is wonderful to work with. We will definitely be back!

Our host John was so easy to work with. He was very prompt with any questions we had, the home was clean, well equipped and even better than portrayed on the VRBO website.

We were very pleased with the Harrison House. Very comfortable and had everything needed to have a relaxing getaway. Only disappointment was beach closed. Not owners fault but still sad. Owner very good at communicating. Would stay here again.
