We had stayed here in the past and had a wonderful time. It appears that the place has been neglected a quite bit. The cleaners, did not clean at all. It appears as though, that all they did was make up Beds. Glass all over the maine house deck, mold and mildew unbearable at the courthouse and all the kitchen cabinets at the lake house has mice droppings in them. We had to vacuum every rug, wash every floor and disinfect everything on arrival day. We were very dissapointed this time around. 6 out of the 14 people that were there, 4 from the court house and 2 from the lake house went home sick with full blown asthma attacks and sinus issues. We as a group ALWAYS vaccuum every room, wash every floor, clean every sink, clean out every refrigerator, before we leave a vacation home. Just very dissapointed. The owners are good people, professional and easy to communicate with. beds.

The cabins and location are excellent. We loved the waterfront area, and the water is crystal clear. The fishing was good. We would definitely rent it again.

Kevin was great to communicate with. His property on the lake with three houses worked for our family gathering of 18 adults and 3 dogs. We so enjoyed using the tennis and basketball court, along with the paddle boards , kayaks and canoes,

We're a 3-generation family (including 7 children under 7) which has gathered at 3 Sisters for 3 years now. The complex works beautifully for a multi-family group since there are separate homes, separate spaces, multiple activity options. We rent a pontoon boat which opens up lake activities. We set up lawn games and the court is great for scooters and chalk art. Kevin is tremendous with communication. We had trouble with the wifi when we first got there and he responded immediately and reset the system for us. The only tiny blip this year is that the cleaning staff was a little churlish when the first 2 of us arrived at 3:15 instead of 4. The other 14 arrived later, but it's hard to time traffic exactly. We were told that we couldn't enter the Maine house until the stroke of 4 even though it was already ready. It seemed a bit silly to be sitting outside a clean house for 45 minutes. That said, I'd say the homes were cleaner than they ever have been before. Highly recommend 3 Sisters!

The accommodations, privacy, Lake, and location were perfect. The kids had a ball in the lake, in the boats, on the float, and fishing. There was everything we needed to entertain and feed our big family. And town and stores are close by. All the kids and adults had a wonderful and memorable time. Great family memories were made.

This was our second year at 3 Sisters and it was even better than the first. The place truly is special for a large, diverse group. Plenty of space to spread out and plenty of activities to keep everyone happy. We rented a pontoon boat for tubing/wake boarding and that really allowed us to maximize the great location on the water. If anyone plans to rent a boat, it helps to know that you should bring two long ropes to tie the boat to a nearby tree for support. The dock is not super sturdy, so reinforcement is necessary. A special thank you to the host(s) for providing two kayaks and a canoe for guests’ use. The kitchen is stocked with pretty much anything you can think of. It may take some time to find, but it’ll be there somewhere. We’ll be back next year! :)

I gave 5 stars to “accuracy of listing”, but really the listing doesn’t do the compound justice. It’s even nicer in person. The Maine house is more spacious than appears in the pictures, which is a bonus with a large group such as we had. We’re an extended family of 9 adults and 6 young children, so having 3 houses to spread out the families was ideal. During our week, we experienced a summer nor’easter, which was a bummer - but it didn’t ruin the week because the compound is that special. We rented a pontoon boat for the week and the storm winds were so strong that the dock (which is not anchored) flipped and broke, setting the boat loose (a near disaster). Apparently this has never happened before and our host assures us that he’ll be looking into strengthening the dock in case a storm such as we experienced ever happens again. The courthouse is truly charming. As the matriarch, I’m semi-tempted to claim that for my husband and me should we rent again - but I won’t because that would mess up the family spacing. But, it’s lovely and quiet. The lake house is also delightful. The location near the water made us all think it might be a converted boat house except that it’s so much sturdier and homier than any boat house I’ve ever been in. Speaking of water, it was awesome to have the watercraft that’s available for use. We rented a pontoon boat for tubing, but there’s a canoe, paddle boat and 3 kayaks to use. This was a real bonus. We had thought the pebbly beach might be an issue, but it really wasn’t. The kids who didn’t like the feel of the rocks wore water shoes and everyone enjoyed the lake water, which we all agreed was the clearest lake we’d ever seen. And loons - so many loons! :) One note: the listing info notes there’s a crib in the Maine house, but it’s no longer there. We had to do a Walmart run for a substitute. There’s a pack ‘n play still, but not a crib. I only gave 4 stars for cleanliness because the guests before us had at least a couple dogs and there was quite a bit of dog hair still in the house and 9 piles of different-sized dog doo in the yard. My husband found a shovel in the shed and did a full yard sweep. I blame the renters for this, though, rather than the cleaners since they may not have seen the piles outside. But yuk. How can people not clean up after their dogs?? All in all, despite the bizarre summer nor’easter and two days of rain we loved it and hope to return!
