About this villa rental
Privately owned, beautifully decorated Mediterranean style Villa inside the 5 star Wyndham Rio Mar Resort Golf & Spa. The Villa offers fantastic golf course views from all bedrooms, balconies, and terraces. Ocean views also appreciated from top floor. It is in close proximity to an abundance of activities: golf, beach, pool, water sports, horseback riding, deep sea fishing, rain forest, bioluminescent bay and many many more. There is also an abundance of great restaurants in the vicinity.
Complete Villa has 5 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms. However, it can be rented as a 3 BDR/ 4 Baths or as a 2 BDR/ 2 Baths. Villas are connected by internal stairway that can be opened or closed based on rental needs.
The top Villa (3 BDR/ 4 baths) is a two story Villa. The three spacious bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms. The living room adjoins terraces where barbecuing can be done while enjoying fantastic golf course views
The lower level Villa (2 bedroom/2 baths) is a one level villa with direct access to the golf course. It also offers a private Jacuzzi that can be accessed from the master bedroom. .
Each Villa has a spacious living area, offers wifi, cable and TV in every room. It has a fully equipped kitchen, laundry & air conditioning throughout. Fresh linens and towels are provided.
Our spacious Villa is just minutes from the resort where Villa renters can enjoy wonderful restaurants, Casino, and the fantastic Mandara Spa. Villa renters have access to all beaches in the area. We like a house instead of hotel rooms.
8 of us on our annual January golf trip.
Brew our own coffee. Cocktails and hit the Costco for some steaks etc. Courses are challenging enough for sure.

We stayed for six nights in the full villa (Units B and D) with myself, my daughter and her husband, and five kids aged 2 to 13. The villa itself was huge and just gorgeous, with everything we could need and lots of space for everyone. We had an issue with the lock keypad when we first arrived but it was quickly taken care of. The host, Sofia, was amazing. She helped us deal with the fact that the community pool was not available (a biggie for the kids), gave us some great ideas about things to see and do in the area, hooked us up with someone who could shop for us so we'd have groceries when we arrived tired and hungry from our red eye flight. She also helped us connect with Georgie who rented us two golf carts for the week. These were critical to getting all the various people to and from beach and pool at various times. Overall an absolutely great experience. I would stay here again!! Highly recommended for families.

Our group of 4 adults and 5 children could not have been more pleased with our 6 days at the villa. From beginning to end, Sofia was amazingly accomodating and helpful. The villa itself was spacious and comfortable and the nearby beaches and amenities were lovely. I highly recommend getting the available golf carts. Hope to visit again in the not-too-distant future!

We had a great time staying here in December. The outside terrace with tables and grill overlooking the golf course was very popular! The kitchen was well stocked and we were very close to local businesses and sightseeing. The beach was lovely and there were plenty of chairs provided. We were easily able to fit 10 people of different ages! Communication was great with the owner.

We had an amazing family vacation thanks to this beautiful home. There were four adults and 3 kids all under the age of 10. Everyday we woke up and enjoyed breakfast and coffee on the decks. Most days we enjoyed the pool and beach. One day we went to the rainforest and took picnic and enjoyed lunch in a 1930’s hut. We cooked breakfast and dinner for the kids nearly every night and had everything we needed. The linens were very nice. One day it rained and the kids and adults enjoyed playing the games located in the villa. I highly recommend getting the golf carts as they make everything infinitely easier. Overall, it was a great experience!

We rented the 5B/6b villa. The living and outdoor spaces are great, bedrooms are spacious - the villa is fine. The housekeeper, Lucy, is incredibly helpful.
During our stay, leaks started in the ceiling of 1 bedroom. Sofia responded quickly, but couldn’t arrange repairs that day. The leak worsened so we had to shut off the villa’s water to prevent more damage, leaving no running water overnight. We put out and changed buckets, mopped, and moved furniture away from the leaks. The next day, Sofia offered a 3B/3b villa during the repairs. After repairs were done and we got back, there was no hot water and there was a leak in the kitchen. Again, Sofia couldn’t arrange repairs that day, but allowed us to continue using the 3B/3b villa. With the new leak, we again shut off the villa’s water overnight.
In all, we lost 1 bedroom for 1 night before getting the 2nd villa, had limited access to running water and hot water for 2 days, and lost time dealing with the leaks and waiting for repairs.
We were understanding and agreed the leaks were out of Sofia’s control and that she did everything she could, but when we requested a partial refund for the inconvenience, speaking with her became difficult. She took the request personally, screaming at me on the phone and talking over me, and was overall unprofessional. In the end, she offered a refund that was significantly lower than requested, and wouldn’t explain how she came to the amount. She clearly puts little value on her guests’ time.

Sofia was great, she was in great communication with me throughout and before trip. Property was perfect for our family of 8. Make sure to rent golf carts, they were great to have to travel to the pool and hotel for activities. Golf course was in great condition and so close to condo. Hope to be back soon!

An amazing place to stay!
The renting process was seamless from the start till the end. Sofia, our hostess made sure to stay in contact with us throughout the week we stayed there, and she was extremely helpful in responding to all the inquiries we had not only about the Villa but the surrounding areas. As for the villa, what can I say? A wonderful and very well-maintained piece of heaven. Everyone in our family fell in love at first sight: the design, the amenities, and the beautiful surroundings the place is in made everyone feel at home. Let’s not forget the Jaccuzzi and the ACs in every room. Finally, being away for only 5-minute drive from one of the most beautiful beaches on the island was quite a delight. I cannot thank Sofia enough for her hospitality and for letting us stay in her place for this week.

Excellent property and experience
The villa was beautiful. The location overlooking the golf course and trees was so peaceful and quiet. The villa was very well equipped for even a longer stay. The location in PR is great for getting around. The access to the villa pool was excellent as well as it was less busy. Definitely get a golf cart to get around. We will definitely rent this villa again next time in PR.

Perfect Accommodations
8 adults had plenty of room with a bathroom for every bedroom. Great location on the golf course and access to a pool while on the beach as well. Great communication with Sofia and we had fresh squeezed oj and grapefruit juice our first morning. Soooo good. The spa downstairs was a great way to end each evening. Would definitely stay here again.

Incredible VRBO Property for an awesome vacation
This property was even better than we had imagined. We loved the location, it was an easy drive from San Juan when we arrived and for a day trip back into the city. We spent most of our visit on this part of the island though because there was so much to do - beautiful beaches, great restaurants, and El Yunque in the backyard (seriously like a 10 minute drive).
Sofia was a great host who stayed in contact throughout the stay to make sure we found the property okay, and had everything we needed while we were there. Her experience as a top-notch host is clear and made the vacation so much better for me and the rest of my family.
We also loved the property - spent a lot of time at the beach and pool, and the golf carts were used frequently for the entire visit so I'd highly recommend renting them.
Overall, highly recommend this property to all coming to PR for a visit.

Beautiful Villa and resort!
Absolutely loved this place! We rented the entire 5 bedrooms as our kids and their kids came and it was plenty of room! We also rented golf carts to get around the resort and they were also a blast!

Best Villa and great location
Rented both the top (3 Bedroom) and bottom villa (2 bedroom). Had the best experience. The complex is great and everything is within walking distance. The complex's beach is fantastic. The villas were perfect for our family of 8. Plenty of space and everything we needed for the week. Sofia checked in and was a great host. Will go back again in a heartbeat.

Great vacation spot and manager
We stayed at both units, with 9 people. The Wyndham is a great resort and the units are nicely furnished and well located. We really enjoyed having the space and kitchens but also being in a gated resort with the beach and pool. Sophia is awesome as a host.

Just as advertised
From booking to check out and everything in between. Sofia was great and the property was exactly as advertised. She was very responsive when we had a minor issue with a broken showerhead and had someone that sat in to fix it. Would absolutely stay again on our next trip.

Awesome post COVID-19 Workation
My wife and I enjoyed the property immensely. Although we worked as much or more than we vacationed, it was so nice to be in a tropical space. The property owner was great and stayed in constant communication before we arrived and checked on us during our stay. We plan to return.

Lovely Vacation
What an AMAZING trip! Sofia was an absolute gem to work with! From the moment we made contact until we left she was absolutely amazing! She was very knowledgeable and extremely responsive. Her villa is just perfect! We rented the entire villa is was more than enough space for our family of 7. The location is perfect with a gorgeous view. Her villa is updated and includes everything you need for your adventures. We cannot wait to return and I hope to meet Sofia in person. She treated us like family!!!

Unforgettable vacation!
We were a group of 3 families...6 adults and 4 teenagers and rented out both of Sofia's villas. The villas were absolutely perfect for our needs! We cooked in a couple of nights, and absolutely anything and everything we needed was provided for us! The open air balconies were perfect for morning coffee and after dinner cocktails. Bedrooms were great and enough bathrooms for everyone to have their space. Coolers and beach chairs were a great touch for our beach days and we loved having the grill for our fresh catch! Sofia responded immediately to each and every question we had before and during our stay - a perfect hostess! The location of this villa is absolutely perfect for all of the activities on the east side of the island. 100% recommended - we hope to be back one day!

Great house, and wonderful resort.
This house was perfect for what we wanted - a beach resort vacation. We had all of the benefits of being at the resort (pool, swim-up bar, beach with provided chairs and umbrellas, restaurants, casino), but we were in a house so that we could all stay together and chill out in the living room, etc. Sofia (the host) was amazing - she responded to all communication immediately and went above and beyond to make sure that we had a great time.

Wonderful trip to Puerto Rico

We had 10 adults and 5 kids. We rented the whole villa (5 bedrooms). It was very clean and well kept. It also was very spacious with a large balcony that allowed us to hangout outside at night. The bedrooms all had more than enough space and all the bathrooms made it very convenient to all get ready at the same time.
The house was also very well equipped with towels, beach chairs, coolers, pots, pans, dishes etc. the only thing we needed to restock in was toilet paper and garbage bags. Sofia provides lists of closest amenities too so it was easy to get to store which was very close (by car).
I was concerned about not being right on the beach but we rented golf carts to get us to the beach. It was a 5 minute golf cart ride and was really fun to ride around in. It truly was not a bad way to get around. Easy, quick and the kids loved it.
There were some small issues with the house but Sofia was very responsive and on top of getting everything resolved as quickly as possible.
I would highly recommend this villa for your next stay in Rio Grande.

Family Vacation
This villa was perfect for our family. We had 9 people traveling and we had both villas. One of our "musts" for the trip was that everyone was able to have their own bed since we had so many teenagers and this place was able to accomodate us on that wish list. Since we had both villas, we were able to access the kitchen in both of the units allowing us to cook for everyone at a quicker rate. They had all the supplies we needed and more making it very comfortable. The teenagers had plenty to do with the beach being so close and the hot tub in the lower villa. We were very happy that we had the golf cart since the villa is not on the beach. The location of the resort was wonderful for us because it put us in between Fajardo and Old San Juan, while being right across from El Yunque. Sofia was a wonderful help and easily accessible.

I would definitely recommend this for a relaxing vacation. The unit is very comfortable and well located.

Lovely and comfortable condo.
The unit was clean and comfortable. Sophia and her Dad made everything easy for us. Furnishings and amenities were good.
Only thing I did not like was the fact that the main AC was controlled by Sophia via wifi and I had to bother her to get it adjusted. All other AC units were under my control which was good.

Family vacation
Great family vaca at Rio Mar! Our family of 9 stayed in both villas, so had PLENTY of space! The 5 total bedrooms could fit 13 comfortably and 16 total. Loved the Rio Mar location, the beaches, gambling and dining at the Wyndham, day trip to Old San Juan, proximity to El Yunque, ziplining, and catamaran sail/snorkel trip. Sofia was extremely accessible and responsive from the states. By far the best recommendation Sofia and Damaris (activities coordinator) made was having in house chef Jose Colon. He came 4 of the 7 nights, and they were all great. Better value with 9 people than eating at Wyndham! It was important to rent the 6 seat electric cart, and to have a car rental for day trips. Enjoy!!!

Destination wedding
My family of 11 members rented this beautiful villa. It met all of our criteriasof: proximity to the airport, proximity to sightseeing attractions ( el yunque rainforest is right outside resort gates) hospitals, shopping and great beaches. The villa was spacious enough for us not to feel tight. We rented the 6 passenger golf cart to get around the resort, which is beautiful. We especially loved the pool and the soft sandy beach. Everything was wonderful, but the best thing was Sofia. Her immediate attention and professionalism to the many questions we had- from the initial question of villa availability to which is the best restaurant in Puerto Rico Was priceless. Sofia's father, Lucy ( liaison for the villa) , damaris (activities coordinator) were also very professional and a delightful to work with. We would highly recommend this villa to any of my friends or family for future trips to Puerto Rico. We hope to go back soon.

Lovely home; plenty of space for multi generational family
We rented both villas. Beautiful home provided a wonderful setting to celebrate a 60th wedding anniversary with children and grandchildren. Spacious bedrooms and living spaces; plenty of privacy and comfortable living spaces to gather. Well-supplied kitchen made it easy to make family meals; grill a great addition. Nice outdoor decks and patios, with jacuzzi. Golf cart aided in access to pool. Sofia was terrific and responded to all requests immediately. Stairs to enter could be difficult for some older people, but all in all a delightful respite.

Perfect
We rented both villas combined. It was perfect for our large party. Everyone had enough space. Sofia and quick to respond and very accomodating. The villa was right on the golf course which made the golf cart rental perfect for getting around the paths. We will be back.

Family stay in Puerto Rico
We had a great time staying in the villas. There were 9 of us and room for everyone. It was especially nice to have two living rooms
As we had 4 teenagers in the group. The villas were well equip with all we needed to cook every night for the whole family. The up stairs dining table was large enough to have everyone sit down and have dinner together
Sofia and her dad made sure they were available if we needed anything. There were a few problems that needed immediate attention and they were right on it. We would all definently come back to Sofia's villa in the future . Thank you Sofia and Fransisco for all your caring.

Lovely stay!
We had a wonderful stay this beautiful villa in Puerto Rico. We had two families, including five children and four adults. Sophia was extremely helpful and accomodating leading up to our stay and provided us lots of information and tips about the area and the hotel. She was also in contact via email and phone during our stay, ensuring that we had everything we needed. The villa was clean, spacious, fully equipped, and perfect for our stay. The nearby Wyndam pool was beautiful and easily accessible by golf cart. We would love to visit again!

Awesome family vacation home
We were a large family and the Sophia and her father had gone out of their way to make us feel comfortable. The house was even more beautiful than the pictures and everything was in perfect working conditions. We were a family of 14 aging from 3 to 85 and everyone felt right at home. Sofia was available via phone/text and provided immediate responses to any questions we had. She provided us with lots of local area information prior to arrival that helped us plan and pack appropriately. We loved using the golf cart, beach, pool as well as access to the hotel facilities. Perfect family vacation!
Our family of 10 stayed in this beautiful villa. We had ages 11-62 with us and everyone had an amazing trip. Sophia and her father were so accommodating! Before we arrived, Sophia provided us with so much information including directions, local restaurants, sightseeing activities and shopping. She made everything very easy for us and helped along the way answering questions and making suggestions. We had easy access with VIP passes to the Wyndham pool and the beach was beautiful. We rented two golf carts which made for quick trips to hotel.
The villas were beautifully decorated and spotless. Both kitchens had modern appliances and were stocked with all possible cookware and serving dishes. We cooked dinner for 10 and had everything we could possibly need. It truly felt like home.
The six bathrooms were all newly and beautifully renovated and there is a ton of storage. The bedrooms were all very large and also had a lot of storage. The beds were very nice, clean and comfortable. The porches and balconies were all very nice as well. I would highly recommend this villa to anyone and will definitely stay there on our next trip!

Super Family Vacation
Our family wanted a vacation home where we would have plenty of room to relax, bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms, and outdoor space. The villa met our expectations and more. The hot tub/jacuzzi was an added treat, and we loved sitting outside on the 4 different decks. The living space also included two kitchens and two living rooms, both lovely and up to date. The golf cart allowed us to spend each day at either the resort pool or beach. The birds singing in the trees were a bonus and we were close to many attractions. Can't thank you enough, Sofia, for your hospitality, and your lovely home.

Review for Wyndham Rio Grand Villa
We had a group of 10 people stay at the Villa for 5 days in June. The stay was great and Sofia was very responsive and accommodating. I would highly recommend this villa for a large group of family and friends - especially for those who are looking to stay near the Wyndham resort complex for the majority of their trip. Overall, our major positives and negatives include:
Positives - plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms, great accommodations (updated villa, full kitchen and equipment, golf cart, hotel/resort passes), very accommodating villa owners, and a good value for a large group.
Negatives - main living room/dining room area a little cramped, location is not extremely convenient for island exploring, must take a car or golf cart to the beach, and the Wyndham resort complex is a little dated.
We researched villas all around Puerto Rico, and I believe this villa provided the perfect mix of accommodations, location, and price/value. Next time we return to Puerto Rico with a large group, we will definitely look to stay at this villa again.

Wonderful!!
We had a fantastic vacation staying in this villa - we were two families, so 8 people total and were extremely comfortable with plenty of space for everyone. The villa is just lovely and Sofia thought of absolutely everything you might need. The extra touches were evident everywhere from coffee and snacks to umbrellas for rain and q-tips in the bathrooms. The kitchens were very well equipped as well as the grill. Sofia was extremely helpful leading up to the vacation and answered all of our questions and then some. When we had questions/needed help while we were there, the response was immediate. We rented the golf cart and it was nice to have, but with the shuttle right next door and a ~10 minute walk to the beach, it is not a must. Having full access to the resort amenities was great - don't have to bring towels, etc. and the pool and beach were wonderful. Thank you for everything, Sofia!!
