Loved this property. Everything was exactly as described, and the most well outfitted we have ever stayed at. Only thing we didn’t have was duct tape to repair our suitcase! Sitting on the back porch watching the sunrise, and the sea during the day was paradise. We miss it already. We snorkeled at several locations on the island and the one right outside our door was the best! So cool to see those tropical fish in their native environment rather than in a fish tank. Would definitely want to stay again whenever we make it back to the island.

Right off the beach but also secluded. It was quiet and relaxing. The huge screened in porch was amazing for relaxing at night. Close to starfish point and rum point.

Our stay at Dave’s place was wonderful!
Dave is readily available for communication. Check in and check out is easy and seamless. Pictures and description of the lodge are accurate. We highly recommend waking up at sunrise to witness the beautiful views. During our stay for 7 days we basically had a private beach getaway. Our only real visitor was a mother sea turtle laying her eggs 100 feet from our lodge. Snorkelling from shore is absolutely amazing. It is a fairly long swim to the reef but well worth it! The drift snorkel to Rum Point is highlighted by the most beautiful Coral Gardens right off the circular sign just before Rum Point. We visited the coral gardens daily, often before snorkel tours arrival. Eagle rays, barracuda, giant lobster, reef squid, and the most beautiful reef fish and coral we have ever seen. Renting a car from the air-point and visiting nearby beaches, including spots, barefoot, queens monument, and of course SMB is also recommended. Chisolms Grocery is 5 min from lodge and has liquor, beer, wine, and sufficient groceries to restock. We recommend stopping at Foster’s on your way from the airport for your initial shop.
Thank you to Dave for the incredible stay. Book this unit as it’s closest to the beach…you won’t be disappointed!

Very private and great snorkeling right outside your door. When the wind and waves were light we could get to the other side of the break and it was spectacular. Many sights from ray’s to lobster to a bunch of conch’s, squid, barracuda and too many fish to count.

The host was very responsive to my questions. The house was extremely stocked with literally everything; beach chairs, coolers, towels, a blender, (you name it and its there!) All you need to do is stop by the grocery store for some food and you are good to go!! We will be returning! Recommended this specific house to several people on the island.

SO relaxing and low-key. Just what we were looking for, the beach and reef is great, a little rocky and some turtle grass, not 7 mile beach, but that's what we were looking for, laid back and quiet, we were NOT looking for something like Ft. Lauderdale or South Beach with a ton of people etc. That side of the island had some interesting things to do bedsides the beach. We saw the Crystal Caverns, Queen's Botanical Gardens, a Parrot Sanctuary...all close by. Depends on what you're looking for, we were not looking for fancy restaurants, nightlife and shopping so it was perfect for us! Great communication with the host.

Spot was perfect! Dave was a great host providing all kinds of information. Great to have the end unit with front row on the water - great views and access. Neighbors were helpful and friendly.

Glad we stayed 2 weeks. The condo was clean, everything worked, good bed, great views. Going to stay again next year. Chisholms, a small grocery nearby, is well stocked, has more than you'd guess and is open on Sunday.

What a wonderful stay we had at the Sea Lodge of Cayman Kai!! We enjoyed the peace and quiet in the home and on the beach. The home was stocked with everything we needed plus!! The A/C units worked great when we used them. Most of the time we just kept the doors open as the breeze was nice and cool. The water pressure for the shower was not the best but worked well enough for a shower. Dave, the owner, was very prompt with return emails when we had any questions. We really had such a relaxing time here and will be back and if it’s just us two then we would rent this property again.

We spent a wonderful 2 weeks at this clean, well stocked rental. Everything we needed. Very close to the ocean and walk in snorkeling. This was our third time at this rental and it just gets better every time. We like the peace and quiet away from noisy, congested seven mile beach. The owner is excellent to work with -very responsive and accommodating!

You cannot beat the location: directly on the beach with sea views from every window. The place was spotless and is the best-stocked I've ever rented (paper products, sunscreen, bug spray, storage bags, beach towels & chairs, coolers, etc.). Communication with owner was quick & easy. The beach is sandy with easy access into the water, with lots of sea grass and protection by a reef. Loved the permanent shade structures on the beach. Great food just down the road in Rum Point & Kaibo. Definitely recommend!

I really enjoyed my stay at this property. It’s ocean front and has everything you need for a beach vacation - coolers, beach chairs, rafts, pool noodles. Dave gave excellent recommendations for the area and was always responsive. The neighborhood was easy to find and quiet. Rum Point is a bit out of the way, but less hectic than the 7 Mile area.

If you want a serene beach experience with excellent snorkeling and minimal hassle, book this unit. The location on the quiet side of the island means beaches to yourself, tiki hut space right outside your back porch, and jo sounds but the clear water lapping the sand. A great, safe space to truly relax and unwind. The owner is extremely responsive and helpful, check-in and check-out process as easy as possible.

We loved staying at Dave’s place. There were clear instructions and the private beach and reef right outside our door was amazing! Some days we’re windier than others but we could snorkel everyday!

First time to cayman! Property was feet away from the ocean snorkling was great only thing I disliked was all the sea grass when first entering ocean which is mentioned in the description when booking but nothing property owner can do about! Property was perfect for my husband and I. Thanks for having us!!

We loved the place. We liked the quiet atmosphere of Rum Point. It felt like we were on a tropical island, not a crowded traffic area like the 7 mile beach. Dave was a great host and no problem with communication.
We woke daily had a light breakfast and snorkeled for a few hours. I would definitely stay here again.
Thanks

This was a terrific place to stay, right on a north-shore beach, close to Rum Point. Very good snorkeling at the barrier reef right from the beach. The owner provides tons of beach accessories (towels, chairs, coolers, noodles, etc), and there were also shade palapas on the beach. Kitchen, tho small, was very well stocked with everything you could need. Two screened-in porches with comfy outdoor furniture and a direct view of the sea were a nice bonus. Both the Botanic Gardens and the Crystal Caves are <15 mins away. There is a small grocery store just 5 mins away, but a supermarket is 30 mins. The owner was very responsive to any questions we had, and stayed in touch to make sure we had a good stay. Would definitely stay here again.

My husband & I enjoyed our 6 night stay here very much. We like being away from crowds so, this was perfect. I loved the old cottage vibe & the grounds were beautiful. Would recommend to anyone.

Dave’s place was perfect! My husband and I like to stay away from the hustle and bustle of the tourist attractions and Dave’s sea lodge was just that. It was quiet and in a beautiful location. Some days we had the beach all to ourself and other days just a few friendly people. The lodge had everything we could possibly need. There was nothing lacking and it was very comfortable. Just a short walk up the road was Rum Point with a nice little beach that wasn’t overcrowded, good food & fun activities where was did the bioluminescent cayak tour and a boat tour for snorkeling and swimming with the stingrays. There was a small grocery store about a 5 minute drive down the road so that was convenient as well. It was about a 45 minute drive to 7 mile beach and close to an hour to the opposite end of the island but we didn’t mind as it allowed us to explore. Overall, a very pleasant stay at the sea lodge. Highly recommend!

Great location, Wi-Fi works well, many channels on tv. The owner gets back to you promptly and is willing to get you what you need.
The kitchen is a little dated and has no dishwasher. If you want a/c there is a unit in the bedroom and the main living area that work well. There are 2 beach chairs to take to other beaches which is nice or you can use the ones already at the local beach right outside your door. The outside lanai could use a little tlc but it is nice to have.

My wife and I stayed at this property during our 2 week vacation in the Caymans and couldn’t have been happier! The sea lodge at cayman Kai was clean, comfortable, and inviting! And let’s not forget that you are right on the beach with amazing views of the sand, ocean and sun!!! The beautiful, private, white sandy beach was very well taken care of and steps from the lanai. You can literally walk right into the ocean and swim or snorkel all day long. Waking up to views of the bright blue ocean while still laying in bed never gets old! The inside of the cottage was very comfortable and we appreciated the kitchen and cool air conditioning. The location was exactly what we were looking for - private and beautiful! We definitely took advantage of the proximity to Rum Point and Starfish Point!
We really enjoyed the north shore and driving to the east shore and the great local restaurants. A rental car is needed and Georgetown is an easy 45 min drive.
White sand and a nice sea breeze makes the beach out front enjoyable for the entire day. The owner was very responsive and helpful. We highly recommend this property .

This is a property on the “quiet” side of Cayman Island, away from busy Seven Mile beach. It is right on the beach and the view is to die for. Very relaxing. We loved it here!

The location is serene and beautiful. The plsce is not fancy but we were not interested in that and it had everything we needed. The owner is super responsive to all problems and / or questions. The private beach and water in front is wonderful. We had hoped for less windy weather for snorkeling but that seems to be the time of year. It is quiet and you will fall asleep to the waves. We also loved the screened patio. We hope to come back!

This place was perfect for my wife and I. We have not been on to many exclusively beach vacations but those was a great start. Easy access to the ocean right outside your door, 50 feet until you can snorkel. We drove the whole island and having the reef wall as our ocean "fence" was great and allowed us safe and amazing snorkeling. As for the house, it was a typical beach house that suited every need. It is in a complex with several other of the same building but when we went only about 4 were being used. I would definitely recommened this spot.

Wonderful view directly from the bedroom and porch. Peaceful side of the island. Great place for a couple to stay.

Sea lodge was just as described, with lots of extras in the unit. comfortable and right on the water with an amazing view. Owner was easy to communicate with and very responsive. There is a sandy beach right outside your door, but as you walk into the water the bottom can be rocky with lots of sea grass. Not a big deal if you know this ahead of time, as we did, and bring water shoes. You can swim about 100 yards out to snorkel. You'll need a car as this is on the North side. Just as an FYI, because everyone is looking for different experiences, its a very quiet part of the island, far away from the cruise ships, hotels, restaurants and shopping on seven mile beach (which is, personally, why we chose and enjoyed this place) Short walk to Cayman kayaks and Rum Point. Would absolutely rent again if we come back!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! If you want to get away from it all, stay in this sea lodge in October. We had the whole beach to ourselves, comfy king size bed, a kitchen that was good enough to cook for two, and great hot water showers. The AC worked great and the view was amazing. If we visit the Cayman’s again we will book this same lodge. Very affordable and cozy.

Quiet paradise away from hustle
This place was cozy and had all the amenities we needed. Communication with the owner was quick and easy via email. Very responsive. The cottage has beautiful views of the ocean from both bedroom windows and the AC unit almost made it too cool. The Wi-Fi worked perfectly. If I had to find one thing to review poorly, to make this seem less like a paid review, I’d say the shower head was awful. 😂 pretty weak con for a place that had all the pros you’re looking for if you’re trying to find a place away from the hustle abs bustle but is literally minutes away from rum point and starfish beach. The beach outside was beautiful as well with thatched shade and plenty of chairs. Loved it. Can’t wait to come back.

Nice but dated
There were many things to like about the rental. We loved the full sized washer and dryer and water heater. The air conditioners were great- quiet and efficient. The kitchen was well equipped. The bathroom was clean and adequate.
The following did not spoil our stay but could be better. We didn’t like the vinyl chair and couch cushions. The television was tiny with terrible sound. The WiFi was nonexistent unless you sat out on the front porch, so catching up on the news or sending texts while inside was impossible. We initially thought that being nearest the beach was positive feature but with the walkway so close, people passed within a few feet of the bedroom and the back lanai as they walked by- sheers on the curtain rods would preserve privacy and let light in. Also, the condo is oriented toward the commonly prevailing wind so the lanai was subject to blowing sand.
Overall, the owner was very pleasant and as accommodating as he could be. We had a lovely time and a few upgrades would add a couple of stars to our rating.

Just what we were looking for
This was a great place for our stay on Grand Cayman. Quiet location, friendly neighbors, and right next to the beach. Would definitely recommend this property!

Beautiful location, comfortable, as advertised
Had a great time staying here, it was just as expected. The wind was blowing 20-30mph ENE, so we didn't do much snorkeling in front of the condo, but what we did see was nice. The breeze through the condo kept us nice and cool without needing the A/C, and the views were wonderful. We had everything we needed to cook for ourselves when we wanted. We did our scuba diving on the west side because of the wind, which was a bit of a drive (45 mins without traffic), but that was expected. The only problem was the wifi internet access in the condo was spotty, as the wifi hub was located in a different unit, and the signal in our condo was not strong. In talking to some owners in neighboring units, it sounds like they are considering rewiring the units for fiber, which would help.

A perfect view...A perfect spot
This unit is facing the beach & sea. It is a small piece of heaven on earth. We could not have been happier with David’s help in sending us brochures ahead of time & helpful hints of places to shop & eat near us. We could not find anything missing from this property. The screened in sitting & dining area is a bonus. We hated to leave.
