About this cabin rental
Located near a small creek with over 40 acres of land to explore. Trails will take you to a small private creek with native trout. From the front porch, you can see deer, turkey, and other wildlife. This rustic cabin was relocated in 1957 from the original family home place. Cabin's kitchen will meet the needs of weekend visitors with modern conveniences. The private bedroom loft offers a large window that looks over 5 acres of pasture. The living area includes a TV (for DVD's only- no satellite or cable) and assortment of DVD's and games. The main living areas has two sleeper sofas that will sleep four. We intentionally did not put Wi-Fi or Cable in the Cabin so you can truly get away. However cell service is strong so you can still receive text and voice messages.
Please note: the steps to the loft bedroom are steep.... Also, the front steps (3 steps) onto the porch are rock and the last one is higher that the first two. There is a smaller step to the right of the porch you can use to get onto the porch and into the house if needed. This cabin is not handicapped accessible...
WINTER MONTHS...IF WE HAVE A BIG DUMP OF SNOW...YOU WILL NEED 4X4 or AWD to get up the last hill......No Snow....No Problem....But if we get a lot of snow you will need a vehicle that puts traction on all 4 tires....

We have stayed here multiple times. Quiet and relaxing. Our favorite Boone NC location
5.0
The rustic cabin reminded me of my grandparents home there in the NC mountains. It's conveniently located to grocery store, restaurants & allowed easy access to be with family & friends. The location was very private & isolated.
Favorites: sitting on front porch rocker or lying in swing reading/napping; walking the paths to the creek which our dog especially loved; watching the deer come & go throughout the day; rabbits roaming; listening to the rain on the tin roof.
We loved the cabin, but will truthfully say it is not for anyone that wants to be pet & pampered but is an experience of how our ancestors lived !!

It was great and beautiful as always!!!

We loved the atmosphere of the place. Nice large living area. The host is excellent. Everything was perfect except the bed is upstairs, the stairs are a bit challenging and you have to go downstairs to use the bathroom. Also, the kitchen is limited so check it out before you shop.

Myself, husband, and dogs loved the cabin. It was fantastic, rustic, relaxing, and clean. We enjoyed our stay, and will return.

Clean, well-stocked, beautiful setting! Location was close to town but in the country at the same time. Very quiet and convenient. Just what we need for this trip!!

This is a great cozy cabin in the mountains in a remote location but also close to Boone. Had a great visit!

No WiFi-No Problem
Very close to Boone and Blowing Rock (seriously 10-15 minutes) but you feel 100 miles away. We took 2 Boston Terriers and they had a blast exploring the woods and trails. (Bring bug spray)
Owners are super nice and are obviously good folks!

We really enjoyed the cabin a lot of history in the cabin. The view and the wildlife was amazing. The walk we took thru the woods and to the creek was delightful and a bit of a work out. The cabin is set in a beautiful place but yet close to blowing rock.

The place was everything I rhought it would be. A cozy cabin in the mountains. Like taking a step back in time with a modern toych.

The cabin was fully stocked and even included extra treats to make my stay easy. The property and trails are absolutely gorgeous.

Stayed here to tour App and the home was great. Loved our stay.
The only thing I would offer my opinion for improvement would be a larger bed for the upstairs. We will stay here again.

This cabin provides peaceful seclusion from the every day world. It's mountain location provides access to streams, hiking paths and a lovely front porch to sit and relax. We have stayed here 2 times and plan on returning.
Great communication with the owner.
Check in/ check out was very easy.

This was the 3rd time we had stayed at the property. It is always a treat. Very relaxing, secluded and private. But also right down the road from Boone & Blowing Rock. We brought our 2 dogs and had a great time. Will certainly be coming back.

We loved this little cabin in the middle of a big field. At night it was so dark you could see all the stars.
We had more than enough room for us and our dog.
We hope to return on our next visit to the area!

The weather kept us indoors more than we wanted so another trip may be necessary to fully enjoy the property

Rustic and absolutely beautiful. Perfect if you want to recnnect to nature. Close to everything you could possibly to in the mountains but also very private. The host was great also. We got to see snow for the first time in several years. That was just a bonus !

Had a splendid time here at this simple but very special place. Location is superb, owners are very accommodating and the space is peaceful and relaxing. Had an excellent quiet holiday here in 2023 and will always remember it. Loved coming in on Christmas to the cute decorations and coziness of this cabin! Thank you!

We love everything about this place. We never left to go anywhere during our stay, we just played board games, sat by the fire, and watched dvds. Appreciated the new refrigerator and shower this year.

The property is exactly everything they say it is and more. My husband and I stayed for our Wedding Anniversary and was very pleased with the location, the amenities, and the beautiful simplicity of it all.
It feels secluded but yet only minutes from town. There was plenty of bathroom, bedroom, and kitchen amenities provided…more than expected. It was decorated nicely for Christmas, and the unexpected snow was an added bonus.
We will definitely stay again in the future.

Wonder feeling of the old cabin.

We both agree if we had arrived and there was only this beautiful cabin this would be a 5 star trip. However, when we arrived the cabin was beautifully decorated for Christmas with outside lights, inside decorations and a Christmas tree. The decorations were perfect and not overdone. Plus we also found a nice anniversary basket for us which was a great touch.
Our only disappointment was the weather as we had hoped to have more time to explore the 200 acres at the cabin but were rained in. We did get to follow the logging trail for a bit but not as much as we had wanted.
All in all if you love the mountains and staying in an old cabin this is your spot. So close to Boone and other attractions but nestled in the woods.
We loved it and will be back!!

Wonderful quiet place for a getaway with a ton of space for our very active 3 year old to run in the woods and fields. Ed was friendly as could be and offered assistance frying a turkey if we needed it since we were there for thanksgiving. We were welcomed to walk anywhere on the property and just enjoy the place. My son loved playing board games inside while warming up since it was pretty chilly, and we spent so much time throwing rocks in the creeks, climbing the hills and fields. It was a needed break for my family for a holiday and I can’t think of a better place to have spent it. We hope to come back again after our next one is born!
Thank you so much for the ability to stay in the old cabin! You’ve no idea what this past year has been and what this trip meant for us.

This is just a great get away. It is relaxing, easy, and close to many attractions if that is you thing. We just hung out with the dogs and enjoyed the peace and quiet. Great "back room" to just hang out and read, watch tv ect. There is no WiFi but I brought my computer and a chord and was able to watch all my college football games there on the tv. Great spot!!!

Beautiful cabin!!! My partner and I had such a wonderful and relaxing time staying at this cabin. Very close to town, so super easy to get around, but far away from the hustle and bustle of downtown so super peaceful. Our 3 dogs loved exploring the property. 10/10 stay, can’t wait to come back again sometime soon!!!

Such a great peaceful, restful, getaway spot. We love to come and just enjoy the cabin. If you wish to go into town to shop or eat it’s very close. We also love that the owners dog, Oreo spent a good amount of time laying on the porch, which makes the place feel like home.

Great convenient location, with a terrific yard for our dogs to play in. Cabin is cozy and clean, love the stone floor and huge logs the cabin was built with. Will definitely stay here again.

It was our second stay at this wonderful cabin and it did not disappoint! Our only complaint is that we were only able to stay for 4 days! It’s an incredibly special place, so comfortable and the host has thought of absolutely everything to make the stay extra amazing. We could not have enjoyed our time more and absolutely cannot wait to visit again! Thank you sharing this beautiful and peaceful paradise with us!!

We absolutely enjoyed our few days while staying at this beautiful property and cabin.

We totally enjoyed our stay at the cabin. We were visiting our grand daughter at App State and this was the perfect fit for us! The cabin was charming and cozy with erything that was needed. No T V or internet, however losts of time to talk, play games and just relax. We did not miss the modern convenience of TV or internet at all.
Thank you for the opportunity to have quiet time away from all of the modern trappings.

We loved our stay in this cabin. Its peaceful and beautiful.
My husband and I were in awe of the property. We enjoyed wandering the property to explore and hike. On our 2nd day and night, it rained which made the stream louder than usual. Talk about the perfect ambiance. The views from the porch are second to none. We went to the Lowes food store, purchased some local brews, and just sat outside and listened to the sounds of the night.
Our dog, River, loved the cabin as well. This was our first vacation bringing him and I couldn't have imagined a better first place. The field in the front yard provided him hours of fun playing fetch. He loved the cool rock floors of the interior of the cabin. However, he did not like the stairs. They are steep and he was too chicken to climb them (and too heavy to carry). Be mindful if you have a dog that has to sleep with you that you may or may not be able to get them upstairs. This wasn't an issue for us, but I could see how some pet owners would want to know this.
The cabin is an ideal distance from town. You are far enough that you get away from App State students but close enough that you can pop over to downtown if you want. The cabin is an easy drive to multiple sites on the Parkway. We also found two other community parks within 15 minutes that we spent time hiking and fishing in. The cabin was the perfect home base.
Thank you to the hosts! We will definitely be back!

Really enjoyed our stay. Great place to retreat, for peace and quiet. Loved sitting on the front porch, especially in the morning. Close to several hikes as well as downtown Boone and Blowing Rock . Would definitely stay here again.
