About this apartment rental
This charming 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom upper unit of a duplex in Old Colorado City was built in 1918. It has been updated and renovated to provide comfort to today's traveler without losing the appealing touches not to be found in more “modern” homes. With plenty of open living space for the whole family (including living room, dining room, kitchen, front porch and reading nook), this house easily accommodates 5 people (up to 7 utilizing the surprisingly comfortable futon in the living room). Colorfully decorated with light colors, vaulted ceilings and comfortable furniture, the house welcomes tired travelers in need of a getaway!
The property includes a fully fenced yard as well as off-the street parking in the back. The fully equipped kitchen includes all dishware, cutlery, pots and pans, small appliances (such as coffee maker, toaster, blender, etc.) and large appliances (refrigerator, oven and dishwasher) needed to accommodate any meal preparation. Linens and towels are also available for your use, as well as access to a washer and dryer on-site.
The house is perfectly situated to take advantage of all that Colorado Springs has to offer! It is within walking distance of Old Colorado City’s famous shopping and restaurants, but also easy access to grocery shopping and drugstores and I-25. Hiking is only minutes away by car as well as downtown Colorado Springs!
Property is non-smoking. We specialize in long-term stays and REQUIRE STAYS OF 30 DAYS OR MORE!

You will fall in love with this quaint safe neighborhood and the charm and coziness of this home. My favorite things were the large windows and backyard to sit in looking at the mountains. Hosts were kind and responsive. Highly recommend

Great location, great hosts
Could not have imagined a better location for our vacation in "The Springs." 2 minutes by car to grocery, gas, pharmacy, liquor store, etc., plus a great old-school burger shack. 10-20 minutes by car to Garden of the Gods, Red Rock Canyon, Pikes Peak Cog Railway, Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, etc., etc. Lots of restaurants within walking or very short driving distance. The elementary school playground two blocks away was a great spot for our toddler to romp around in the afternoon. Comfy beds. Two full bathrooms, both updated recently. Background, front porch, and reading nook all boast nice mountain views. Best of all, the hosts were great at staying in communication.

Great location & recommend
A/c issued on arrival day. Owners were proactive, called for repair same day. Notified me as FYI and followed up. Repaired same day. Good location, great experience. Deer outside back yard!

Wonderful place to stay
I totally recommend this property. The whole process was easy start to finish. Bryan answered me immediately, sent recommendations on restaurants etc. The house is charming and tons of room, we stayed in the upstairs of the house. We were in need of nothing there. They even provided a book of things to do/see and planes to eat/shop. The property is in walking distance of cute shops and places to eat. Would stay here again!!! Lisa Chase

Great location and comfortable house
What we liked: We were very happy with the location. We were half a mile away from Old Colorado City and could walk to restaurants and shops. The house was spacious and comfortable. As another reviewer stated, the pictures did not do it justice. There is a fenced yard for the dogs and parking in the alley was easy. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed.
Be aware that it is a upstairs/downstairs duplex. We could hear the tenants below and smell when they were cooking. I'm sure they could hear us walking around too.
I only gave it three stars for cleanliness because there were food splatters on the lower kitchen cabinets, dirty splatters and handprints on some of the doors, and the can opener was a joke. We had to finish opening a can with a knife. This was more like a typically lived in home than a super clean house I usually rent. All that is pretty minor in the scheme of things. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.

Everything we needed!
This home was perfect for our family reunion and graduation party. Also the home had all the things you didn’t know you’d need - q-tips, sun block, vases, you name it!
Definitely will recommend this home!

Excellent Location, great facility for the price
I ended up picking this home for the location and price, but was even more impressed when I arrived. About 50 feet away from his front porch is one of the most beautiful view of Pikes Peak. Better than the view in Manatou Springs. The location was amazing- great little shops in Colorado City and some of the best affordable restaurants in the city. Easy to get to Mannatou Springs or Fort Carson or Garden of the Gods.
Most importantly Bryan the owner is incredibly responsive. If you need help or advice he is around to assist.
The kitchen is huge and has lots of space and all sorts of cooking supplies. Would recommend bringing or renting a bicycle in warmer months. Very Satisfied with my stay.
One note - recommend coming into the parking place (which is incredibly convenient) from 18th Street , since the road is wider on that side.
Highly recommend for the location and price.

Great location
If you want a centrally located property in Colorado Springs in a quiet neighborhood this is the property. Just a short drive to Pikes Peak, Manitou Springs, Cheyenne Canyon Park, Air Force Academy, rafting in Canon City, Old Colorado City, Royal Gourge, and whatever else you want to do. There's a grocery store, pharmacy, and coffee shops you can walk in 5 minutes or drive to 2 minutes. If you like BBQ, don't miss Front Range BBQ. Owner was very responsive and easy to deal with.

Quaint house, wonderfully set up
The house is lovely setup. It is great for 2 couples. The two bedrooms are wonderfully setup with the reading nook directly off one. The thing that surprised us the Most though was the deer walking through the yard in the morning. What a great way to be awoken.
It is a great place to go for quiet, relaxing getaways. Best of all, it is near to downtown Old Colorado City, Garden of the Gods, Manitu Springs, and other great destinations. We arrived with bikes and would have loved to use them but snow on the ground did not help.
Note: For this property, you must really park in back since you only have "keyed" access to the back door.

Lovely comfortable home.
This home suited our needs very well. It is spacious, light and airy, clean, comfortable, and convenient. The kitchen (and really the whole house) was very well equipped, and it was nice to have two bathrooms in a home this size. I would definitely stay here again if the chance arises. I'm not sure who the neighbors downstairs were, and they most certainly did not disturb us, but when I realized I could hear someone downstairs yawning, I worried a little about disturbing them.

Family getaway
We enjoyed our stay at this residence and have no real complaints at all. It is roomy, and had every amenity we needed for our family of five. It is a few blocks from a great shopping district, and is in a quiet, pleasant neighborhood. The only liability might be that there is a little too scant sleeping space for a larger family--it is better suited for 3 or 4 people. The air mattress for my son was defective, but Brian reimbursed us for a new one. Great reading library, and a well-lighted porch on which to read. It is an older house, but not decrepit at all--it has charm.

Parents Weekend charmer
We stayed here over the Air Force Academy's Parents Weekend. It served our needs very well and was quite spacious. The location was central to many of our activities and it was very quiet. Having laundry facilities in the basement was wonderful. We enjoyed our stay immensely.

LYNNE FROM PHOENIX, AZ
CONVENIENTLY LOCATED TO I-25; OLD COLORADO CITY, DOWNTOWN, PIKES PEAK COG RAILWAY, GARDEN OF THE GODS, USAF ACADEMY, BROADMOOR RESORT, ETC. OWNER PROVIDED 95% OF WHAT A RENTER WOULD WANT (EXCEPT NO CABLE TV). HOUSE IS VERY ROOMY INSIDE - DINING/LIVING/BEDROOM HAVE LOTS OF SPACE.
WE WERE TWO FEMALE ADULTS (POST 65 YEARS OF AGE) SO CANNOT SPEAK ABOUT YOUNG CHILDDREN OR TEENS UTILIZING HE FACILITY WITH PARENTS. WE SPENT TWO WEEKS AT 1816 W BILOU ST AND ENJOYED OURSELVES VERY MUCH. CAN RECOMMEND EDELWEISS RESTAURANT, FLATIRON RESTAURANT AND THE TAVERN AT THE BROADMOOR. THE GOLDEN BEE AT THE BROADMOOR WAS A DISAPPOINTMENT.
TWO OUT-OF-TOWN DAY TRIPS WERE MADE TO CRIPPLE CREEK (WINDING ROAD AND HIGH ELEVATION) AND CASTLE ROCK (DO NOT MISS THE BARN, CHIC ANTIQUE STORE). MANITOU SPRINGS IS FUN TO ROAM AROUND, BUT METERED PARKING IN TOWN IS MANDATORY.
BOOK AND HAVE A GREAT TIME.

This well-equipped home fully met our expectations. The location was very convenient to Colorado Springs, points west of town, and the local shopping/tourist district.

Very comfortable and enjoyable.
We enjoyed having a "home" to go back to after our day's activities. The kitchen is very complete and the whole house is inviting. It is family oriented as there are games and books readily available.
We enjoyed being just blocks away from Old Colorado. An also "must see" is Manitou Springs. We really enjoyed dining at the Mason Jar in Old Colorado. Wonderful food. An also "mus do" is going to the Garden of the Gods.
Having a notebook full of ideas of things to do and maps of the area was fantastic. It was placed on the dining room table where we could readily access it.
The listing photos are very accurate. Everything was well maintained and clean. Whenever we had a concern or question, I would just email the owner with it and he would get back to me in a timely manner.
I would definitely recommend this property as a very pleasant place to stay. If we are in the area again, we would definitely consider staying here.

Great place, close to everything
We had a great time staying here while we were in Colorado Springs. The house has plenty of space and is within minutes of everything we wanted to see and do. The house is older, and the owners have taken care to maintain it and furnish it with nice, comfortable furniture. It's a minor detail, but it was great to have a hookup to the TV so that our daughter could watch Netflix through our laptop. We also accidentally locked ourselves out one night but the owner got us back in quickly by texting us instructions.
If you like pristine, newer construction this rental may not be for you, but we appreciate older homes and the character that comes with them. Also, the neighborhood isn't fancy but there wasn't anything wrong with it as far as we could tell. We don't know the Colorado Springs area very well, but it seems like it would be tough to be in a more convenient location for tourists.
We'd definitely stay there again if we go back to the area.
