The Salty Dog has been completely renovated! An exciting rental property-a renovated kitchen, bathroom and all furnishings! A 650 sq. ft. open floor plan with lots of windows that is perfect for a couple or small families. Two bedrooms, a bath and an open kitchen with a large screened-in side porch for morning coffee and sunset cocktails. There is an outside shower for a refreshing treat! The charming furnishings have been chosen carefully by the owner. There is air conditioning and ceiling fans to keep you cool and high speed internet to keep you connected. Nestled in the trees and backing up to protected land this house is a private getaway and a birders' paradise! Enjoy a short walk to Alexander Avenue beach to share idyllic beach days with dolphin pods who play, feed and sleep in the waters just off of this beach. Stites Avenue beach, also an easy walk, is a guarded beach safe for children of all ages to play in its calm waters. Another short walk to the "Circle", a grassy park area is a perfect spot for an after the beach stroll, game of catch or a picnic. Bring your bicycles , riding is easy and convenient at the Point and will allow quick access to the Cape May Lighthouse State Park and Nature Preserve. Renting bikes is a quick phone call prior to your visit and they'll be awaiting your arrival. Swan-filled Lake Lily is around the corner. There are organic produce and eggs at Beach Plum Farm and fresh bread on Sunset every morning! Take part in a relaxing daily ritual and bring a glass to Alexander Beach and enjoy the stunning sunsets. The Salty Dog offers an affordable dog-friendly family vacation for up to 3 adults or 2 adults with small children. Cape May Point is a quiet, family oriented community of 600 homes. My husband, two-year-old kid, two-year-old dog, and I stayed at the Salty Dog for our annual trip to Cape May Point. The house was absolutely perfect- adorable, well-equipped, great location, and the most comfortable beds we've ever had In a rental! Sharon was super responsive and available to answer our questions, but also gave us the privacy we were looking for. We can't wait to go back next year!

Arrived to this lovely cottage, everything was clean as a whistle, well appointed, and comfortable. The host Sharon was very communicative and accessible and lovely. Only minutes walk to the beach this is a great location in a peaceful and quiet neighborhood!

Perfect size cottage and location. Short walk to the beach, 15 minute walk to lighthouse, surrounded by tall trees and quiet. Wonderful screened porch that runs the length of the cottage for reading, eating, and socializing. Small kitchen is adequate for those of us who like to cook. Comfy beds, sofas and chairs. Take your own sheets, pillowcases, and towels, but there are plenty of pillows. Lots of windows let in natural light. Wood floors. Outdoor shower is private and convenient. Host Sharon is friendly and responds immediately if you have questions. We will definitely return to the Salty Dog!

We stayed a week on the point and the Salty Dog offered everything we needed. This stylish bungalow is comfortable, clean and peaceful. We really enjoyed spending lazy afternoons on the screened in porch and is an easy few minutes drive to all that Cape May has to offer. One of the best points is that you can walk a block down the road for easy access to the beach, including sunsets without the crowds of other beaches.

We had a nice weekend in Cape May Point at the Salty Dog. The cottage was cozy and clean with a well equipped kitchen for a home of this size. Both beds were comfy and the screened in porch was great. The bathroom is pretty small, but it worked fine for us. We look forward to a return visit

We had a great stay with beautiful weather allowing us to take advantage of the comfortable screened porch. Ideal for two and a dog! Nicely furnished, v clean, and just right kitchen facilities for 2. Relaxing retreat- we would love to come back!

My wife and I spent the weekend with our two dogs at the Salty Dog and had a wonderful time. The neighborhood was very quiet and we loved being within a short walk to the beach. The house was a perfect size for us and had everything we needed. We especially loved all the great books that we found around the house. We also really appreciated the beautiful slate-walled bathroom with excellent water pressure in the shower. The yard had a lovely mix of flowers, berries, and trees that provided a nice wild jungle kind of feel that we personally prefer over more manicured lawns. Sharon was very friendly and responsive, and even though we had everything we needed, we felt she was available in case we needed anything else. We look forward to coming back to Cape May, and we certainly hope the Salty Dog is available when we do.

Cottage was just what was needed for a relaxing week at the beach. Small but cozy and tastefully decorated. We had everything we needed for our trip. Kitchen was small but had the necessities: coffee maker, fridge, microwave, etc... Sharon and Peter were always there if we needed them. Loved sitting on the porch, reading and having our morning coffee. Beach is superclose walk and convenient to so many things (Bird Observatory, Lighthouse, Lake Lily, WWII tower, Beach plum farm, Sunset Beach). Great place to bike ride and enjoy the sea! We will be back!

We loved everything about our stay! The cottage is a short walk to the beach on a quiet, wooded lot with wildflowers. The generous porch had comfortable chairs and a table which was great for rainy days. The cottage was impeccable, beds were comfortable, and there were nice design touches throughout. The neighborhood is quiet and charming with plenty of pretty gardens to admire on the walk to the beach.

This is a cute little cottage. The kitchen and bathroom are nicely updated. We also appreciated the Nest central air conditioning. It is located in a nice, quiet area and we enjoyed riding our bikes around the neighborhood and Lake Lily nearby. It is also a short walk to the Cape May Point beach. It is a VERY small place, and there is not a lot of storage space. For example, the 2nd bedroom doesn't have a regular closet (only shelves which were already filled with extra bedding) and no dresser. Also, the bathroom could use some shelves or something to put your toiletries on; I found it difficult to even get ready in there. Also, the kitchen has very little counter space, so if you plan on cooking anything, it will be a bit of a challenge. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and appreciated that we were able to bring our two dogs. We were very impressed at how clean the house was upon our arrival, which is not always the case with dog friendly rentals. If you are a small family and travel light, you will be comfortable here.

The Salty Dog was the perfect place for us to spend Christmas and New Years. The house is thoughtfully decorated with so many great books I got distracted from the books I'd brought myself! Super comfortable bed and sitting room. We came to Cape May Point to relax and get away, and the Salty Dog was perfect--a five minute walk to the beach and a ten minute drive into Cape May if we wanted to go into town. Alexander Beach is a great walking beach with spectacular sunsets. That we could have our border collie with us on vacation made the stay even more special. Would highly recommend as a warm and comfortable place to relax and enjoy Cape May Point and Cape May.

Lovely, charming house on a quiet wooded property. The screened porch made for an enjoyable morning coffee and evening drinks experience, and close proximity to the beach allowed us to walk to see the sunsets every evening. A bicyclists paradise - around the neighborhood, to the lighthouse and birding trails, or all the fun of downtown Cape May. Easy check in, host was lovely and responsive. Very comfortable and enjoyable stay. We loved it!

Quiet neighborhood near town and nature attractions. The owner was very responsive to any questions we had, and even went above-and-beyond to bring me 1 tsp of baking soda so I could finish a baking project without having to run back out. The driveway and walkways were well-maintained, and the gardens super cute. There is a sweet little porch with fairy lights, and wifi kept us in touch with work and family, and tv watching when the weather turned rainy.

The Salty Dog was warm and cozy for our winter getaway. Perfect for the two of us. We couldn't take advantage of the large, enclosed porch but I can see how that would be perfect for a spring / summer / fall retreat- it nearly doubles the living space. Sharon was communicate and helpful.
