With spectacular views of Deer Harbor and the Olympic Mountains to the south, this Orcas Island cottage is just steps from the water and offers easy access for beach combing. The gentle surrounding waters are perfect for kayaking, and there is a dock available to launch kayaks and canoes at high tide - or just carry them down the path and set off from your private beach.
Marina View is a spacious one-bedroom guest house, with king bed, a fully equipped kitchen and large living area with vaulted ceiling. Both the living area and dining nook offer south and west views of the water. There is also a twin bed in the living room for an additional guest.
Three and a half acres offers ample room for play and there is a large level lawn that is conducive to croquet or badminton. The guest cottage shares the family's vacation compound, but landscaping provides privacy for both parties if the owner should also be in residence.
Marina View is within walking distance of Deer Harbor Marina, a convenience market and post office. It's a great location, within 20 minutes of the ferry landing and the amenities of Eastsound. It is also a wonderful vantage point for Deer Harbor fireworks if you are the lucky ones to book this cottage over the 4th of July!

Everything about our weekend at the cottage was what we'd hoped for. We are a family of 3 with a 5yo and medium sized dog. Communication with the host / owner was clear, fast, and easy, and they have the cottage dialed in for rentals. We cooked breakfast, watched wildlife, flew a kite, explored the island, soaked in the hot tub, and relaxed by a wood fire at night. We can't wait to go back!

This wonderful cozy property is private, gorgeous and perfectly outfitted for my favorite island getaway to date. The Allen family has stocked it with treats and all the things we needed to a tee. The fireplace was a welcome feature, wood and kindling on the ready. The hot tub overlooking the marina and chairs on the bluff were incredible, I will remember this trip for the entire year and hope to return soon. Our pups loved it as well, hiking in Moran State Park on Christmas Day was lovely!

The property is located on the harbor, a quick 20 minute drive from Eastsound but far enough away to be peaceful and relaxing. The home is very private and feels like it's own oasis with a yard, hot tub, and beautiful view. The house itself was spotless and comfortable with huge couches, a large tv, fireplace, well stocked kitchen, and a very comfortable king bed. They provided very detailed instructions and nice touches to make you feel welcomed. There's no laundry list of chores when you leave like many homes, making checkout easy. I highly recommend this property and can't wait to return!

More than a cabin, it's a very comfortable house that seemed to be equipped with everything needed for a stay. It's away from the touristy parts of Orcas, but close enough to take care of what you need. The setting is really beautiful.

This is such a lovely property. A perfect place to unwind. We enjoyed everything about it. The view and the jacuzzi were such a treat! The cottage was clean, quiet and very comfortable. Orcas Island is a special place. Lots of hiking, water activities, small shops, local artists, and some wonderful restaurants. ( Make reservations for King Fish) The property management team is awesome!!
One tip for traveling to this area is check the ferry schedule in advance and book your round trip passage. We had to change our flight leaving Seattle because we forgot to book in advance.

Marina View Cottage is in a great location with beautiful views and spacious surroundings. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend this property to anyone looking for rest and relaxation. The cottage itself is older but everything worked and was well-equipped. The owners were very hospitable and respectful of our privacy.

We would visit again in a heartbeat. The owners welcomed us on arrival and gave us the lowdown on the area.
It was the shoulder season so many island restaurants had limited hours/days but if we didn’t dine out, we were able to cook full meals at the house. The kitchen had everything. The living room is big and couches comfy!
It seems like a quieter side of the island, but easily within driving distance of the East Sound downtown area.
The views were beautiful, you can see the marina from the house. Watching the sunset from the hot tub was the best way to end the day. And our dog enjoyed the large lawn.

This has to be one of the “best places”. The house and the management of the property was excellent. The owners helped us with a very needed reservation on the ferry system. Make sure you have your reservations for the ferry before you go!! We had a great time. Go Whale watching out of East Sound!!

The cottage or “guest house” is perfect for our anniversary get away. So incredibly peaceful sitting out looking over the water or soaking in the hot tub.

our family stayed for three nights at this wonderful house, which is well-stocked, super clean and very welcoming. The scenery with harbor/Water view is gorgeous. We ate most of our meals outside while watching hummingbirds busy hitting the feeder. Quietly tucked away, but also not super far to all the sites we decided to hit. Highly recommended!

My husband and I and our cattle dog Willy loved our stay at the Marina View house. The house is comfortable, clean and well equipped. The location on the upper end of Deer Harbor offers a great view of the marina. There are houses on both sides, but the place feels private and peaceful. Our hosts, Ellen and Doug, were welcoming and friendly. We hope to return. Some highlights of our Orcas Island stay: the farmers market in Eastsound, Orcas Island Pottery, Mt. Constitution (the view!), Buck Bay Shellfish (fresh clams!).

We had a fabulous stay in Deer Harbor! Everything was just as described - great views, beach access, nice hot tub overlooking the water, cozy wood fireplace, and the extra considerations for dogs (food and water bowl, toys, bags, and movable tie out) were such a nice touch! It felt secluded and private but only 20 minutes or so from town, which we loved. Highly recommend!

This is better than the listing photos! Cozy, cute, and quiet. Short 10 minute walk to the local marina (snacks, breakfast sammies, coffee, etc…) and post office. This view though—stop!!! On the few clear days I could see out to San Juan Island and the Olympic Mountains in the distance. Gorgeous and relaxing? Yes, please!

The cottage was a perfect home away from home for our family and small doggy. The property is beautiful with amazing views. You can see the amazing sunset and sunrise from the comfort of the couch. They had everything we needed and then some extra comforts for our doggie. It was very welcoming! The hot tub was very relaxing. It was close to a pizza place and a small store but the main part of the island is only a few miles away. We cooked dinner the first night and it was stocked with what we needed. We would stay here again!

Everything we needed to have a relaxing, but playful stay. My Husband cooked up roast duck with dried fruit gravy for dinner on my Birthday, and had everything he needed in pots, utensils, spices, nice bowls and plates for serving, etc.!!!

everything was great except the bed was hard as a rock, ended up on the sofas every night.
we also had no internet ( no cell service either) as they where upgrading it during our stay, making trip to library everyday to get emails etc was a major pain.
New bed would be very good idea.

First, we were very disappointed that it was not spelled out that this property is actually a guest house located a mere 20 yards from the owner's residence. While the owners were not overly intrusive we did feel abit like being in a fish bowl. Second, no reference or mention of the availability of kayaks was ever made even though there were two kayaks located on the owner's dock. Third, despite the descrption stating how much Fido will enjoy the wide open lawn, the information booklet located in the unit requires that dogs be on a leash when outdoors. Overall we were very disappointed with this rental unit and would not recommend it to a friend.
