I really hope my comment will have the attention of the manager of the hotel.
The resort is ok, the food can be definitely way better for a resort of this kind, the premium chalet are very beautiful
Now the sad part about the whole thing.
The part of the beach in front of the hotel is amazing and clean, the Island itself is just a paradise, BUT, walking 50 meters out of the resort you see a HUGE and too sad beach of PLASTIC, this are pieces of bottles, chairs and many other things that has been there for years not days so definitely the hotel have all the time to clean the beach, that plastic didn’t came with the tide as they say in other comments but simply came over the years and the people of the Hotel simply don’t do NOTHING to clean it, the white sand beach in front of the island that they shows in pictures is literally full of plastic.
This is just very sad as it shows not just the massive damage the human being is creating to the world but also how the same people do not care about it
It will take maybe a couple of people of the hotel maximum 2 hours to clean the beach but guess what? Nothing happens
I hope that things will change for this magic island
Nothing more to say

We stayed in a premium chalet which was gorgeous, very spacious and secure. The location and beach were both amazing. There are a wide range of activities that you can engage in, such as snorkelling and kayaking which are both complimentary, among others that are either complimentary or come at a small surcharge. The food was very good in the restaurant, the staff were all super friendly and helpful! We didn't go for the full board, just breakfast and we were glad we did as the al a carte menu was really good and really affordable. Unless you are used to the local cuisine I'd recommend the same.
We got the land transfer organised by Sutera from KK, we were disappointed to have to wait another hour at the jetty to get the boat over. Time keeping in general could have been better for the transport, however, it's a small issue that didn't take away from our stay.

Staff were helpful and friendly.
Mantanani Island could also be called Rubbish Island. the plastic rubbish problem is extraordinary. Sutera Resort does not do the responsible thing and allow guest to refill their own water bottles from their water dispensers but rather wants you to purchase plastic water bottles and use endless small bottles provided free in your bedroom.

No Complaint
As it was first time in the island , didn’t know the salty sea water piping in the room.
I was shocked to drink my hot coffee of salty seawater.
They should have put up the notice in the room, so the guests will avoid the treated sea water for drinking
as some people may have allergy to the saltiness .

the staff was super friendly, the resort was nice, scuba diving with dean awesome :)
the whole island is covered with rubbish except the area of the resort, I even saw a local emptying a trash bin into the sea. It was absolutely dissapointing. Please, clean the whole island and take care of the rubbish problem. I understand that the ocean is full of garbabe and it washes it all to the island plus theres no garbabe service so the locals are burning the trash on the beaches, BUT it should be resort responsibility to keep the island clean so that its attractive to the tourist (i.e.moneys coming) and the standard of life for the locals is elevated. it's a two way street - the locals provided the island and the resort has the means to make it a better place. Its nornal in the western countries to be sustainable and this place needs it like hell. With clean insland and cooperation with the locals, you could provide sight-seing tours to the village/around the island/to the neighbouring island (supervised cayaking), collect the coconuts and sell it in the restaurant/have some local restaurant to be opened in the village because the resort restaurant has too less possibilities to eat for a longer stay, organinize a "green watch" - so that tourists themself can collect sone trash and help the enviroment

The room is beautiful. The bed was very comfortable. I was given a seaview room. It was heavenly. The view was just stunning.
My friend had food poisoning while staying there (nor from their food). One staff, I forgot her name, but she wore glasses and is very fair, was very hepful. She was one of the reception people. She helped get medication for my friend. Very kind of her. Also, a reptile came into our room and their staff took the trouble to chase away the animal promptly.
The menu at the restaurant is rather limited for this type of quality resort. They don't even have pizza! The breakfast menu was also quite limited. No fresh juices. There were also stray dogs that goes everywhere. Even at the restaurants and lobby. This is not hygienic for a resort like this.

it’s clean, staff were very helpful and it’s a small island
Only disappointing thing was the food options as there’s no longer full board, the ala cart menu was very little and very pricey.

The information provided in booking.com was incorrect. The price was higher. Did write in for answers but to no avail and booking.com referred us to the property itself then when we contacted the hotel itself the staff informed us due to our booking is via booking.com and we should check with booking.com.

Location is amazing, right on the tip of Mantanani island. Staff is very nice and available, attentive to any problem. Rooms are clean and spacious and nicely decorated.
despite the new and refurbished bedroom, our bathroom was old: shower did not work perfectly, hot water takes time to arrive and it is not totally hot, signs of mold between the tiles, no shower carpet provided. Also, food is not good at all, and provided only at certain times (e.g. if you are hungry after 9pm there is nothing to eat). We were all inclusive, and it consisted in very small portions we could not choose from (it was not buffet style, but staff would bring us several plates). Also, they do not serve most of local beverages or food like iced tea or typical Malaysian dishes.

The chalet is not up keep. The transfer from jetty to island is delay about half and hour. The way back transfer from island back to jetty even worse with delay more than 1.5hours. Bad times management.

The location… PARADISE!!! The staff were super friendly and very helpful.
We stayed in a beach chalet which was amazing but the bathroom need some tlc due to the pandemic. It was the little things as the sliding toilet door kept opening and the overhead rain shower wasn’t working so we just used the handheld shower instead.

Friendly, helpful staff and crews...from boat to reception to restaurants
We walked to the village, debris of trash and plastic bottles are spoiling the view of the beach. But of course nothing on sutera property. Its on other abandon chalet operators

The view of the sea.
Where do i begin? Its really not matching up to my expectation given its price per night.
1. No wifi- this is basic amenity. Im not here for a camping trip.
2. No room service- its a beach resort and it has no room service? Even a 2 star hotel has room service.
3. The food selection At the restaurant. During dinner, they only served PLAIN water with coffee/tea. No cordial/ juices. Nope nada.
4. In the morning, basically there is no staff ok ground. No one is setting up the chair/table near the beach. Its so laid back. Like no one cares. The rubbish since previous night still left unattended until we can see all that during bfast. No activites available in the morning. The recreation hut is open late. So basically in the morning u have bfast and swim and go home. No options for any leisure activity.
5. No pool towel. And its a resort and they dont provide beach towels.
Pls check out Sutera Manukan references on how they run their resort. Dissapointed, truly. Paid alot and this is what we get.
