About this house rental
Welcome to the Lorelei, A lovely 6 bedroom, 6 and 1/2 Bath Victorian located in the historic district of Cape May. Just three blocks to the beautiful beaches and just 1 and a half blocks to the center of town, (where there are plenty of restaurants, shopping and theater) you will LOVE the location.
We are newly renovated with new wood floors and tile floors on the ground level, New tile floors in every bathroom, refinished original wooden floors In living room. And dining room,
new carpeting in 2018 in third floor bedrooms and both upstairs hallways and staircases. Newly painted bathrooms.
New stovetop and oven in 2018.
The whole exterior of the home has been repainted in 2018 in “mermaid colors” Beautiful garden, patio, fencing and spectacular wraparound porch, The perfect vantage point for people watching and for the Christmas parade!
2019, Additional cabinet installed in the kitchen with all new quartz countertops. Updated chalk painted cabinets and new glass tile backsplash. (new kitchen photo not up yet)
Kitchen has Traditional toaster, toaster oven, traditional coffee maker, Keurig coffee pod system, blender, food processor, handmixer, crockpot and new for 2019 Instant pot. Cook up a storm!
All bedrooms with its own flat screen TV and our den has a 50 inch wall hung flat screen and BLU-ray DVD player plus a collection of DVDs for your use.
Our living room also has a flat screen.
House is fully air conditioned and heated and has Wi-Fi throughout. There is a full wraparound porch for enjoying the sights. There is a private fenced in Paver patio for barbecuing and seating for outdoor dining. Washer/Dryer on premises along with all modern amenities. Each bedroom has its own bathroom.. (Most en suite,) Plenty of off street parking make this a great stay. A Beach Box is available for all our guests right at the beach. No need to carry back and forth your chairs, etc. Keep everything secured right at the beach! Perfect house for extended families, reunions or corporate events. Great escape for girls week away or guys golf outing. Lots of privacy for all. Come and make your own Cape May memories at this lovely vacation home.

The house was perfect for our requirements: staying with my husband and me were our 3 adult children, their spouses and children. We fit 13 people comfortably and each had his/her own space for sleeping. The wrap around porch was great for sitting, reading and people watching and the patio was a nice gathering place after the beach etc. Cape May is a lovely town with beautiful beaches and a plethora of shops. The host was very quick and gracious and responsive to all questions.

Beautiful home in a great location! 3 blocks to the beach and less than 2 blocks to main part of town. Fantastic porch for relaxing, reading, or watching the people passing by. I'm talking seniors as in age. Five couples came together in Cape May and ended up staying at the John F. Craig house. We reserved the Lovely Lorelei however the roof was being repaired and the road in front was being resurfaced by the city, so the owner offered another property closer to the beach and shopping! Thank you Lori!! We had the best time! We loved the remodeled kitchen, having a bedroom on the first floor, hanging out on the front porch and the overall history of the house. All-in-all, we loved getting together and spending our time in this beautiful Victorian home! Suggestion for readers...be sure to check availability with Lori before reserving on Vrbo! I missed that detail.

Without a doubt, my best experience with VRBO yet! Lori, our host could not have been more helpful and accommodating. The house is comfortable and beautifully decorated. It truly enhanced our Cape May experience. So close to the Cape May shopping area and a nice walk to the beach. This was perfect for the 13 of us. Smaller groups could go their own way and meet back at the house for group conversation, games, happy hour and laughter! We all had not been together in so long. The house, the location, the attention from Lori, and of course reconnecting with cousins, all served to rejuvenate the soul! Thank you Lori, for helping to make it special!

The house was a wonderful gathering spot for our reunion of college girlfriends. We each had our own bedroom and private bathroom. The location was great for exploring Cape May. We walked to the beach, shopping and restaurants.

The house is great - and all the little extras were very much appreciated - like 6 beach tags, the beach box, tissues (other rentals don't seem to think of this), excellent AC (it was a VERY hot week), a well equipped kitchen, and a wonderful wrap around porch. The very thoughtful welcome basket was a great added touch. Lori is very responsive if you have any questions or concerns. Planning to come back next year - and hopefully many years after!

A Great Stay in Cape May
We absolutely loved the house, it was spacious and right near all of the greatest spots to be. From restaurants to Congress Hall and the beach we didn’t have to drive our entire stay. The house was so clean and spacious and Lorie was absolutely the best. She was so helpful in accommodating us we can’t wait to go back.

Thanksgiving in Cape May with Family
From beginning to end, the owner, Lori was amazing. She responded immediately to all of our questions and requests. We cooked most meals at the house as we were a large group. The kitchen offered all appliances, plates, pots, etc needed for our group. The home was a short walk to the Washington Mall, Harriet Tubman Museum and beach. A few minutes ride to the lighthouse and other attractions. Accommodated our family of various ages. Would definitely return again. Thank you Lori for being a great host.

The house is just as described (charming, very clean, plenty of space for a large group) and in a perfect location to everything one needs in Cape May (center of town, Congress Hall, the beach). Perfect location to all activities
The Lorelei is perfect on so many levels...the location is perfect for shopping, dining and the beach. We walked everywhere. The house is so beautiful and fit our family perfectly. There is enough room for everyone to spread out and get away from the craziness of being together but also intimate enough to spend time with the family. Lori is the perfect hostess. She was available to answer all questions and she made great recommendations for dining and things to do. We will definitely be back to The Lorelei.

Amazing Property and Awesome Location
You know you are on the right track when right after you book the place the owner reaches out to you with necessary updates. Lori is an amazing host and she helped us through out the process and told us what to bring and what all we could use. She was kind enough to extend our checkout since we had young children and we were able to make the most of our visit there. The house is a 5 minute walk to the beach and it is a beautiful walk. We loved everything about it. For those planning on making their own meals - you can count of Lori to have almost everything. The entire process was awesome. We loved it. Everyone had an awesome time.

Fun-filled week at The Lorelei in Cape May.
My family and I spent a fantastic week (August 24-31) at this wonderful, quaint and whimsical home. So many things to do in Cape May, and many of it is within walking distance. This included the beach, shopping, restaurants, mini-golf, antique shopping, events, and live music. We loved sitting on the wrap-around porch eating, conversing and relaxing in the lovely outdoors. The house was large enough to fit our family of 15, and the bedrooms were spacious. We had a very minor issue one day, and the owners were immediately reachable by phone and the problem was corrected. I would definitely consider another vacation here in the future. Classic updated Cape May Victorian
This is a truly lovely property. We are an extended family of 15 - grandparents, three married daughters and spouses, and seven grandchildren ranging from a fourth grader to a college junior. This lovingly updates home accommodated us all. Ample kitchen and dining room, private nooks, wrap around porch for morning coffee, evening spirits and all day people watching. The location is an easy walk to the beach, and the beach storage box means you only take your chairs and umbrellas once. And it is even closer to the Washington St Mall, fudge shops, ice cream parlors, and even Sunday Mass. The home is updated and beautifully maintained, We had a wonderful week. Thanks Lori.

Beautiful Home! Great Location!
We spent the weekend of Oct. 12-14 at Lorelei and couldn't have been happier with the accommodations. There were 12 women and we spread out in the ample bedrooms and enjoyed the large dining table for our gatherings which included a private chef cooking for us! The home has ample parking (we parked five cars) but never had to move them as it is in walking distance of everything - shopping, beach, dining, liquor stores, etc. The host was truly accommodating to all of our needs from the moment we booked until we arrived. A great place to stay!

Beautiful Victorian Rental in the heart of Cape May
We just returned from this beautiful property in Cape May. Five couples shared this home for a fabulous weekend getaway. The home is in a very convenient location, enabling us to walk wherever we needed to go. The home is beautifully decorated and is extremely well equipped with anything you might need. All the bedrooms had access to their own bathroom and the beds were very comfortable. The owner was wonderful to deal with from the first inquiry all the way through the entire process. We would highly recommend the Lorelei and would definitely consider it as a rental again. It would be great for any family, girls getaway, guys get away or couples like us. If we were in need of a larger rental in Cape May- the first contact I would pursue would be Lori and I would seriously consider her other property that sleeps 25.

Well maintained house in a great location
We have rented many beach homes over the years but have never met an owner who was so attentive to making sure everything was perfect for our stay. 14 of us stayed and it was so nice to have so many bathrooms and also a bedroom/bathroom on the lower level for my elderly Mother. I always thought air conditioning was a nice to have but we rented in a high 80s/low 90s week and it was a must. Friends rented a house without a/c and had to cut their vacation short due to te heat. We would definitely stay here again.

Awesome Location, Beautiful Victorian home!
This is our second time renting this Beautiful Pink Victorian Home. We were at max capacity for this house with 17 people ranging from 3 years old to 72. Three floors with rooms that are as unique as Cape May. Wrap around porch which works well any time of the day. Great place to hang out and people watch. The location is extremely convenient, a block from the shopping, couple from the beach and a couple from all the restaurants. Lori the owner was exceptional at preparing everything for our arrival. We stayed in touch after the first trip last year and we were fortunate to have been able to rent it again this year. Our kids have grown attached to Cape May and that property in particular calling it the PINK HOUSE. Each was quick to claim their room on arrival. Lori is constantly working on improving the property with some kitchen upgrades and an outdoor shower this year. The side yard was great for a bbq lunch. We highly recommend this property for its great upkeep, location and owner. Next time we decide to go to Cape May we won't have to exhaust ourselves searching for that perfect house.

Beautiful house, wonderful location
We loved being in a house that was close to everything and had all of the amenities that we wanted. I would recommend this house to anyone who wants to have a wonderful, fun, hassle-free vacation in Cape May. I came with a large group (13 people) whose ages ranged from a 4 years old to seventy-seven years old. Everyone loved it.
It's a pleasure to stay in a house where the owner has done so much in advance to make sure that the renters will have a great time. The kitchen has everything you need for meals from casual to gourmet. Each room has an attached or nearby bathroom. Each bedroom is individually climate controlled. The wifi is strong. The interiors are exquisite. The deck is gorgeous. There's plenty of room inside and out to eat together, relax, converse, do puzzles, play cards or games, and just enjoy yourselves. The house is close to everything from shopping to the beach to the supermarket to a bird sanctuary. Location-wise, it's perfect.
And so convenient! The house has a locker on the beach, so you can enjoy a three block stroll to the ocean each morning without having to lug your beach gear. And on the way to the beach, you pass everything you need or want: coffee, pizza, gorgeous houses, a bakery, mini-golf, bike rental, Uncle Bill's pancakes, etc. It's all right there. You want a vacation where you can just relax and enjoy yourself without worrying about anything., In this house, your dream vacation can become a reality.

Wonderful!
We had a wonderful week in Cape May. The house is perfect. One of the best features is that every room has it's own bathroom. This made it a perfect fit for our family with married children and one grandchild. There is also a main floor bedroom that was perfect for our elderly parent. The owner is very easy to talk to and wanted to make sure that our visit was good. She wanted to know if we needed anything and made sure we had her contact information and handy mans information too. The house is 4 blocks from the beach and 2 blocks from the area with shops. Very easy walk. It is a great location. It is on a busy corner but with the huge porch and the fence we felt our little ones were safe! Parking is ample. I happen to have used linenladies.com for my linens before and used them again and was happy with them too. All in all it was a great experience renting this house and hope to do it again.
