About this cottage rental
Only two blocks from the beach, Tybee Girl is a charming 1930's cottage. The spacious outside area features a privacy fence, deck, hot and cold shower, gas grill, and seating. The open kitchen is fully equipped including dishwasher and island. The breakfast bar has room for 6. Just beyond the breakfast bar is the living room with a brick fireplace (non-working) and a flat screen tv. The dining area features seating for 9. The 3 bedroom cottage contains a king, queen and 2 bunk beds. As a bonus, this property features a large sunroom. This room is a great place to watch movies or have family game night. Close the adjoining door to the cottage, and the sunroom becomes a private 4th bedroom by using the sleeper sofa. There is complimentary wifi and cable tv. There is also a Roku TV for streaming. Free parking for up to 3 vehicles.

We had a great trip. This house was great for us except the air conditioning really couldn't keep up with the heat...even after the rain. We would love stay here again if the air conditioning was updated.

We have been to Tybee several summers, and always stay in an older beach house because we like the eclectic charm. While this space has potential and is functional, it definitely needs a deep cleaning and some love and attention
Pros: Lovely neighborhood with a close walk to the beach. Three distinct bedrooms (two well sized, one very small but good for young kids). Nice sized and equipped kitchen. Plenty of supplies (towels, dish and laundry soap, TP, new sponge for kitchen...)
Cons: The listing photos are not accurate, photos showing a tiled floor (and nicer furniture) are not current. Central air was insufficient to cool the house so a series of standing AC units and box fans were required and the house was loud and un-pleasant. Upholstered furniture was either stained or torn, and many of the other furnishings (lamps, bar stools, case pieces...) were dingy/cheap looking. No attention to landscaping and no pleasant outdoor seating areas, piles of lumber and broken furniture in the back yard. Floor was free of particles but dirty (our feet and socks turned black) and curtains and ceiling fans were thick with dust. Entire space needs a fresh coat of paint. Cleaning tools (gross looking brooms, mop, plungers) were left out open in the living spaces rather than tucked in a service closet. Pet waste was left in the back yard (previous renters responsibility per house rules, but owner/cleaners should check prior to new renters).
For the price, we we're disappointed.

Cute little cottage, has some age but not a deal-breaker. Located very well on the island, fairly close to the beach. The only concerns my family and I had was that this property could use a deep cleaning and a little maintenance here and there. The only other issue was that the air struggled during the peak times of the day but was rather comfortable at night.

This was the first time we have ever rented a house. The house was very nice and stocked with everything we needed. My only complaint is the air conditioner didn’t work very in the bedrooms.

My Family of 4 stayed here for the week of July 4th.
The location of the house is a couple blocks from the beach and was an easy walk. The house felt spacious.
The air conditioning at the house did not keep up with summer heat and we stayed hot when inside the house. Property feels like it is older and could use some updating.

We had a wonderful time for our first trip to Tybee Island. We didnt want to leave. The owner so nice when we needed to extend our trip one more night. We appreciate the kindness throughout the entire process. We cant wait to cone back. The cottage was perfect fit for our family. My 6yro favorite part of the trip was the bunk beds and him getting to sleep on top 😆

Property was a great location easy biking walking short drive to anything. House could use a deep cleaning we spent first half day cleaning lots of dust fans, stool covers, lights, faucet leaks door knob hard to work. Overall great place just needs cleaning was nice to have washer and dryer location is great. Would be nice to refund our cleaning fee. Again thanks for sharing your home location to beach was great.

First time visiting Tybee Island. We enjoyed our stay!!! Found the rental to be comfortable and relaxing. Lots of room and the kitchen had all the tools needed to create meals. The 2 block walk to the beach was great!!! We would stay again for sure

The house was quite cute and i enjoyed the stay however there could be some updates. The mattresses were very uncomfortable, bedding and linens felt old and the handle on the dryer was broken off. I guess i expected more from what the pictures showed.

The location, booking process, size and location of this property were all good. I was disappointed at the cleanliness. The floors (not carpet which is wonderful) were extremely dirty. I used a giant box of wet Swiffer's and still couldn't get it clean. The bath towels are very old, and some were stained. The walls, doors and kitchen cabinets are in need of a deep clean (you can see the dirt and grime) and probably a coat of paint. The backyard could use some TLC and maybe a pallet floor in the outside shower since you're standing in dirt. If these items were corrected this could be a real gem.

The house is nice but old. Floors are uneven the refrigerator is leaning back against the wall. It reminded me of an old farm house. If you're a 5 star hotel kind of person this isn't the place for you.

A lovely Tybee house! It was nice to have clothes washer and dishwasher pods left out for us. The AC was cold, every room had a fan, and there was adequate seating for our group of 6, both for eating together, out back on the porch, and on the 2 couches. Location was great! A very quick walk to the beach and though we have never not stayed on the “beach side of Butler” before, we would stay again! It’s on the designated bike route and there wasn’t much car traffic on the street either. Mid beach always seems quiet and this location is easy bike ride North to the lighthouse or South to the pier.

I wanted a change of scenery and thought Tybee wasn’t too far. My daughter, dog and I headed south to Tybee. The home was cute & comfortable, Loved that the back yard was fenced for the dog. But we walked early in the morning and late in the evening due to the humidity. There was an Extreme Heat Advisory while we were there so we didn’t stay on the beach as long as we’d like to have. Very safe and friendly neighborhood. Close to everything!

Small cute cottage. Was very comfortable and convenient place. Quick walk to the beach. House needs some work but was just right for us and our family beach vacation. Was great to be able to have our pets with us as well and let them run in the fenced back yard.

We had a great stay this past week on Tybee. The house was right on the bike route. We could walk and bike to everything- the beach, Back River Brewery, The Sugar Shack, IGA, etc. It was a nice quiet neighborhood. The house was 100% perfect for our family and Janine was super responsive- we did not need her for anything, but letting her know that we were checking in and out. The kitchen was also the best stocked of any rental we have been in. We hope to stay here the next time we visit.

We had a great time. The kitchen is well stocked. The property is very dog friendly. The outdoor shower and hose were a plus. The new flooring is great. The price is lower than other properties and I suspect it is because the property is dated and pets are allowed. There is room for improvement: The stove burner drip pans are the wrong size, which causes every burner to be off balance and the front right burner works intermittantly. In general, a good deep cleaning would help. There are cob webs on the ceiling, surfaces do not appear clean, and the floor needs a good scrubbing. We would certainly stay again, and a good time was had by all.

We had a group of seven staying in this rental. It was much bigger than we originally thought from the pictures and very comfortable, with a nice kitchen and washer/dryer. Walking distance to the beach. Just great overall location.

On Tybee you're definitely limited on dog friendly rentals but I wish I had paid a little more to rent something else, anything else. This home is in desperate need of repair and a thorough cleaning. Or even a good basic cleaning, there were coffee grounds on the counter, not clean bathrooms, and floors looked like theyd never been mopped, feet black from walking on them. The stove was almost unusuable thanks to ill fitting burner trays that make the coils slanted. None of the bedroom doors latch much less lock so privacy is nonexistent. The beds are the most uncomfortable weve ever slept on, like a blanket laid on a table. Half the lights wouldnt work and the plug for the second tv didnt work so only tv in living room. Thank goodness it wasn't super hot the week we went because the AC couldn't keep up and no air at all coming out in Queen bedroom. The main bathroom is so narrow you can barely squeeze past the sink to use the toilet. Honestly the worst rental we've ever stayed in, only pros were good toilet paper, proximity to beach, and the layout.

The stay itself was nice. Several people have allergies to mold and think the house has a mold issue. Stopped sneezing and eyes watering when we left the house. Guess bathroom shower has no pressure. Stand alone shower was fine. Other than that it was okay.

Nice little house within a couple blocks of the beach. Nothing fancy, but very pet friendly. Nice to find a place that is not restrictive of your pets and doesn't charge large fees for bringing pets. The small fenced in backyard was a plus. Would stay here again if visiting Tybee island

Owner is very friendly. Everything is labeled for easy locating, and the owner stocks the home with all needed essentials. The home was clean with the exception of the kitchen table not being wiped. Towels could stand to be upgraded. We never could get any hot water to the outside shower, so we only used it to rinse feet from the beach. We also battled mosquitos quite a bit indoors. There is a gap under the front door which allows bugs to come in. The location is great for exploring the island and day tripping to Savannah. Overall, we had a really great week together in this home.

Tybee Girl is a cute little cottage. It is an older home but was clean and well stocked. We loved that the kitchen drawers were labeled to find what we needed quickly. The backyard was perfect for our dogs. The walk to the beach was just a few minutes. I would recommend a little wagon if someone had small children and needed to tote gear to the beach. Our children are older so they were able to tote their own beach items. This was our first visit to Tybee and hopefully not our last.

We have a great time. The house is nice an we fit 9 comfortable. Any issues we had the owner was on top of it quickly. This was the perfect house for us. It isn't the Ritz Carlton and that's what we wanted with kids. If your looking for fancy this wouldn't be the place for you but if it's a family vacation it's perfect.

We absolutely felt at home immediately. We loved the decor and the way everything was put together. The house was spacious for our family of 7 and had everything we needed. The owner even had things labeled to make it easy to locate what we needed. The outside shower was a great bonus for after the beach. The beach was well within walking distance My teens loved the waves. Neighborhood was very quiet and felt safe. We would stay here again anytime!
