This single-family home (now 6 bedrooms, 6 baths) is located just in from Vaca Cut with unobstructed views of the Cut and the Ocean beyond.
Protected dockage and a 30' freshwater pool and poolside Spa. This home offers a perfect blend of gracious 'Old Keys' casual style and the location offers the sought-after boating access to the Ocean or Gulf within minutes. The ground level access, with 4 bedrooms and 4 baths, contributes to an easy lifestyle, no stairs or steps, the living areas flow uninterrupted from inside to outside and on to the waterfront and dock. Just steps from the pool and pier is a seawall rimmed semicircular beach cove, a unique accent and great spot to get wet without having to do a thing but relax and look at the water. The perfect touch to end another great vacation day will be the beautiful sunset color in the sky viewed from the living areas and waterfront.
The new addition of two suites adds a spacious 2nd Master with a King size bed and bath and an adjacent Queen suite with bath, both on the upper level over the garage. Each bedroom offers a bath with a shower and 55" TV for after-hours relaxation.
The living, dining and kitchen areas are central to the home. Vaulted ceilings, window walls along the front of the room and banks of sliding glass doors opening to the pool deck visually enlarge the already generous space for an open and bright room. Chrome and stainless accents throughout the decor add to the clean light and open feel. With the seating, dining and kitchen areas all open to each other, family gatherings and interaction is a breeze, whether watching TV entertainment, preparing meals, dining or just relaxing to chat about the day's activities or planning for tomorrow's adventures! The kitchen has all you would need for easy meal preparation within a few steps, beautiful stainless-steel counters for easy clean up and an elevated breakfast bar for a light bite or cooks' helpers to offer assistance without being underfoot.
The master bedroom on the ground level is one of the two bedrooms on the north end of the home and has a new master bath and in a new location off the master, more room and it boasts a double sink vanity, walk in shower and an enclosed water closet for privacy without making the bath unassailable. The added amenity is a large soaking tub, great for relaxing after a long day out having fun! The master is well proportioned and also has water and pool views through it's sliding glass doors and a king size bed. The guest bedroom on this side of the home has a Queen size bed and a bath suite that also opens to the hall for living area use. A new hall access from the living area to the utility and garage areas eliminates the foot traffic through the guest bedroom to those areas prior to the renovation! The south side of the home has two guest bedrooms, one waterside with a Queen bed and private bath and the 4th bedroom has 2 twin beds and it's own bath.

Had friends and family at this property over spring break and had an amazing time. We rented a boat and had great access to the ocean and gulf sides as the weather dictated. We also managed to land/release a tarpon after missing quite a few. Can't wait to book again for next year.

We loved the waterfront views that were available through much of the house. We took kayaks out and enjoyed the heated pool. We would recommend bringing your boat if you have one or renting one. Also, don’t forget to bring any water toys you own for activities on the peaceful waters.

Papas house on Vaca Cut is the perfect Marathon vacation home for outdoor entertainment and fishing. An ocean side location that still has a view of the beautiful Florida Keys sunset is hard to come by, and this house delivers. The pool is wonderful and the hot tub felt great on a cooler day. If you are staying during winter months I would suggest paying to have the pool heated. The pool is shaded, which will be great in the summer but may be a bit chilly in the winter without pool heat. We had easy docking for our boat. The cove is a no wake zone so you will not have speeding boats or jet skis rocking your boat. The neighborhood was nice and quiet. There does appear to be a construction project going on next door but we never heard or saw a person there. The kitchen was adequately stocked. The only thing I would change about the inside of the house is the furniture. It is not very comfortable for hanging out at night. This was not a big deal for us as we spent most of our time outside. The pool table in the listing is no longer there but there is a nice ping pong table and several nice kayaks for use. There is a great little beach/kayak launch area. If you are familiar with the Florida Keys you are familiar with the smell you can sometimes get when you stay on bayside. We did not have any of that staying in an ocean side home. Kitty was quick to reply to all of my questions and provided great instructions upon check in. We would definitely stay again.

We appreciate being able to stay at your beautiful home. Perfect! Here's a list of things that need to be fixed. Water in the shower doesn't work in the bedroom next to the kids room, volume didn't work on TV in kids room, refrigerator handle broken, washing machine drips water after cycle, rugs are rolling up- someone will trip.

We chose this property as we wanted a peaceful base to explore from with our boat.
As soon as we walked through the door we realised we had chosen the right place.
There’s a peaceful calm about the property with beautiful westerly views and an eclectic mix of furniture which we loved.
If you want a standard box shaped canal property then this is not for you.
This is an open ocean viewed, wide single story property with tons of character.

There is not much to be said about Papa's house that hasn't already been mentioned before. Location is perfect. Quiet neighborhood, safe for young children. Easy access to the open ocean when renting a boat with sandbars nearby. Rooms are spacious. Everyone in my family sleeps with a fan, this house had a ton of them. We've already booked our return trip, the pros far outweigh the cons when stacked against other properties in Marathon. We can't wait to come back!

Excellent location and incredible sunsets.
This home has the most spectacular sunsets with an amazing outdoor area for fishing, kayaking, boating, swimming and sunning. We basically lived out here for the entire week.
Inside could use some more comfortable seating areas to relax in for the evenings and the beds are fair. House was clean, but had some Florida bugs. Garage area could use some cleaning up. Customer service with agency was good.

Best house in Marathon
If you like old school Keys this is the place! The house was super clean and wide open. The pool was great after a day on the boat. Sunsets we fabulous right from the house or right around the corner by boat. We had everything we needed, very well stocked. Pool & ping pong tables got a workout this week. Kitty was a pleasure to work with. Just a seamless, perfect week! Can’t wait to get back to Papa’s House. We could have stayed a month!

Surprises
Booking went well. Our long awaited family get together was disappointing. Upon arriving at the house there was a large barge next door and they were constructing a dock which included loud drilling and diesel fuel fumes. Could not sit outside had to close all doors and windows. Very disappointed we waited so long for this trip to Marathon Florida.

Fantastic Views and Location!
The waterfront views and location of this house are amazing, and the layout is great. However, there are some details that weren't great. First, we chose this location based upon the inclusion of multiple kayaks and SUPs available for use. Unfortunately each was in such a state of disrepair that none was usable and so we had to rent some at additional cost and inconvenience. Second, construction is nearly around the clock on the property immediately next door. The noisy equipment continued right on through sunset each evening so that we couldn't have conversations outside or enjoy the beauty in quiet. By the middle of our stay, a barge with a crane and other equipment arrived and even partially blocked the small private beach area to the property for the rest of our stay. Other unfortunate things included the extremely thin curtains in the master suite, and with the way the house is angled, lights on the patio or in the kitchen and living room shine right through into the bedroom. The pool table was not usable, as balls fall through holes in the pockets and roll across the garage floor. All in all, the house (especially the patio) is a fantastic place to spend the week, but only if you are able to block out the constant noise next door. I understand that construction is set to begin soon on the other side of the house as well.

The views from this property are simply stunning. Property was very clean and if your a boater there is no better place to tie up to the dock. We had 36', 25' and 18' boat tied up at the docks. Would recommend this place, heck we are already talking about coming bakc next year!

House was very clean and in a great location. Open water views were nice and enabled a nice breeze throughout the day. Only complaint was that there wasn’t a full size sectional or couch in the main room. Overall it was a great stay!

Free trip back to the 1970s when renting this pad. Great location for boaters, but bring your hula hoop and twister game! The AC in the master suite could use some work, and the Hindu and Muslim Statues are a bit much but overall it earned a B ....

Great location and very easy docking for the 25’ boat we rented. The pool was great also however the house could use a deep clean especially the kitchen. The home worked great for our family of 5 but the kitchenware was lacking and needed to be outfitted again. Great location and very easy docking for the 25’ boat we rented. The pool was great also however the house could use a deep clean especially the kitchen. The home worked great for our family of 5 but the kitchenware was lacking and needed to be outfitted again. We would definitely return but would hope for some improvements with the kitchen and cleanliness. This location can not be beat for a boater or even two boats.

Has it all with that Keys eclectic feel.
Great location, views, and activities. It has that Florida Keys funkiness with its "mid-century modern" furnishings. Plenty of room. Has two kayaks, paddleboard, fishing poles, ping-pong and pool. The pool and patio is shaded with newer furniture. Dock handled our 29" center console with no problem with easy access to the Gulf and Atlantic. Kitty was great to work with. We would return again.

Great location with Sunset Views
This is a great property for a relaxing family vacation. The only issue we had was the construction going on next door. It was very noisy, but when we finally called and asked the property manager if there was anything they could do and they called them and they stopped using the noisy concrete saws. Other than that, it was a great property. We stayed in all week due to COVID, but there was lots to do to keep everyone entertained. They had kayaks, a paddle board, ping pong, pool table, games, and puzzles for entertainment. My 10-year old nephew caught lots of small fish (they had poles too) and he was happy. There was a lot of sea life in the area. We saw manatees, dolphins, parrot fish, crabs, etc. The bonus for this property is the small private beach. I would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend it for families.

Awesome Vacation!
We had an awesome time staying at this property! House, pool and dock were amazing! The view from this home was awesome and we so enjoyed sitting on the patio and watching the boats and wild life. Huge parrot fish live along the seawall, and a resident Nurse shark greeted us at the dock the 1st day. Only recommendation is if you take a boat, take some bumpers to keep it from hitting the concrete dock, there were 2 there but we needed a couple extra and forgot ours at home. We can't wait to go BACK! LOVED IT!

Beach House
The house and property were awesome! Nice and roomy to spread out...great accommodations, wonderful great room too! We loved the outdoor seating and dining by the pool, and used it every day! The saltwater pool was so soothing. We brought SUPs, and the little beach cove was perfect for launching the boards as well as wading! We all loved it there!

Sunsets and wildlife
Beautiful property and location with a unique layout and many interesting decorations. The pool and waterfront area are just perfect for viewing sunsets. We also had multiple wildlife encounters, from sharks, manatees and barracuda swimming by the dock to a blue crab knocking at the sliding glass doors during Thanksgiving dinner (we didn’t eat him).
The bedrooms are well appointed and separated from each other. The kitchen is well stocked.
We enjoyed the pool and jacuzzi, cleaned during the week. Also made use of the ping pong table and the kayak and paddle board.
If I have any complaint it is only that the central room furniture is a little dated, uncomfortable and numerous so the area is a bit cluttered. A minor inconvenience considering we are “active” vacationers.

A Week in Paradise
We come to the Keys (Marathon specifically) at least once a year and typically stay at a different home each time. This house was amazing! All one level, the pool was just steps outside the door and amazing views, especially at sunset! We will definitely book our next stay at Papa's House!
