About this house rental

The Space
This thoughtfully designed 1145 sq ft home comes with an extra 300 sq ft private covered verandah The suite combines function and style in a spacious, open format that is comfortably contemporary and warm.

Prepare breakfast in the comfort of your well-appointed European kitchen. Later on, host a lunch or dinner for friends, or business colleagues. The dining table extends to seat up to 8 in the open concept living area.

Curl up and enjoy the glow of the fireplace. The mantel and the pass through/eating bar are both live edge maple slabs. On warm evenings take your cocktails and dinner onto the porch. Or, you could simply kick back on the comfy deck chairs looking out on the age-old trees and the passers by.

Do you ever feel like a little pampering? Close the door to the main bath and enjoy. There’s enough space to relax with great fixtures and effective lighting. The master ensuite is a 3-piece with its own shower.

What makes for a good nights sleep? Our mattresses will do their part. Choose between a Stearns and Foster king or two separate XL twin beds which are Posturepedic Libretto Eurotops and can be combined into a true king bed on request.

Guest Access
Private, front path with level street access. Parking is in a designated spot at the back of the property from the rear lane and private side path to front door. The entry door has a keypad with a unique code for each rental.

Hosts Mark and Joanne are available to answer questions in person and/or via phone/text/email. We try to welcome you personally to both familiarize you with the apartment and to answer any questions.

The Neighborhood
We live within 5 minutes walk from just about everything we need or want. This neighbourhood has beautiful multifamily homes, many new, but mostly the originals from 1910 to 1920, on a quite tree lined street. People are friendly and taking a stroll is a common activity. The resident mix is young and old, owners and renters, and the vibe is decidedly happy to be here and amid the calm it feels like things are happening.
If you like flamenco the Kino Cafe on Cambie is 7 blocks away where its on several nights a week. Yek-O-Yek on Main is an excellent Middle Eastern deli. The best coffee shop is the 49th parallel on Main or straight up Columbia to 19th at the Mighty Oak. Amazing breakfasts at Slickety Jim's on Main and 18th.

Getting Around
The Canada Line from the airport to downtown (The Broadway Station) is 6 blocks away. Every necessary amenity is 3 to 5 blocks easy walk away. The east/west transit bus line (Broadway) is 4 hocks south. The north/south transit bus lines are 3 blocks away on both Cambie (into the downtown core) and Main (to China Town and Gas Town). Bike Lanes are every 4 blocks in all directions and have traffic calming features and are heavily used. The sidewalks are well maintained and crosswalks abound. We have a dedicated park spot for your car. Most of Vancouver is metered parking, or residents only, but 1 and 2 hours zones are common away from major routes.
From the airport it is 15minutes by taxi or take the Canada Line to the Broadway Station. It is six blocks from there to the suite.

About the House
This 1912 house is in excellent condition with a lovely garden. This suite is the main floor with a private verandah. Parking is at the back of the house.

House Rules
1) From 10pm until 8am please keep the noise way down.
2) No shoes at all in the house.
3) No smoking and sorry, but no pets.
4) The agreed upon number of tenants not to be exceeded.
5) No parties

Mark was a very good host! Checking was a breeze. The house is in great condition. -Pros: clean home, incredible location close to the Main Street, great privacy, updated bathrooms, beautiful front hard, fantastic neighborhood with loads of trees, and very spacious rooms. Mark id also very courteous, responsive and professional. This house has been meticulously cared for! -Areas of improvements: they could provide basic necessities such as some milk, sugar, salt, pepper, paper towel as the kitchen was literally empty. Also note that the house was kept very warm -we would have appreciated if the cooler was consistently working. Portable Fans were provided for rooms. The big room king mattress was very uncomfortable (spring mattress) and I ended up sleeping on the first bedroom on which the mattress was good. I recommend staying at this place and will surely return!

The apartment was in a wonderful location with easy access to downtown Vancouver. The apartment was clean and well equipped and we loved sharing a sundowner on the porch after a day of sightseeing or planning what we were going to do the next day. We would definitely stay here again!

Wonderful stay at this lovely property overlooking the Salish Sea. Tanya and Terry are marvelous hosts. The communication was great and they were there to greet us when we arrived. They also provided a lovely food tray consisting of fresh bread, butter, jam, granola, fresh eggs, chocolate bar, snack items, chips, coffee and tea. Very nice! The property is spacious with a lovely view of the waterway between Vancouver Island and Washington state. It was comfortable to sit outside and look at the ocean while enjoying wine and gin and tonics watching the afternoon sunset. I would highly recommend this property and hope to return the next time I come to Vancouver Island.

There is absolutely nothing to dislike about this apartment. The location is beautiful and easy to walk out from. The apartment had everything the two of us needed for 5 days and Mark the owner was very friendly, helpful and responsive. We would stay there again in a heartbeat.
