Acadia National Park: Acadia National Park: In 1913, President Woodrow Wilson set aside 6000 acres (within what is now Acadia National Park) as Sieur de Monts National Monument. With the acquisition of more land and private support and funding, in 1919 President Wilson signed an act establishing Lafayette National Park. In 1929 the park's name was changed to Acadia. Acadia National Park was established to protect the area's spectacular scenic values, Maine's rock bound coast, its coastal and its offshore islands as characterized by the geologic features, natural history and the native plant and animal life. Forty five miles of rustic carriage roads weave around the mountains and through the valleys of Acadia National Park, the gift of philanthropist John D Rockefeller, Jr., and family. Rockefeller, a skilled horseman, desired to travel on motor free byways via horse and carriage into the heart of Mount Desert Island. His efforts resulted in roads with sweeping vistas and close up views of the landscape.

Cadillac Mountain: Cadillac Mountain: At 1,530 feet, Cadillac Mountain is not only the tallest mountain in Acadia National Park, but also the tallest mountain along the eastern coast of the United States. Rising high above the town of Bar Harbor, Cadillac Mountain offers magnificent views of the Porcupine Islands and Frenchman Bay. Explore the summit of this granite mountain along a .3-mile trail, which includes wayside exhibits about natural and human history. Portions of this trail are accessible to wheelchair users. Cadillac Mountain is accessible via a winding, narrow, 3.5-mile road. The road is closed from December 1 through April 14 and whenever weather conditions (e.g., dense fog or ice) require.

Property is just as described. We stayed with adults, teens and children. We also rented a pontoon boat from the owner and used it to view the sunrise, cruise to the public beach and take the kids (and adults) to the lake's jump rock. Had everything we needed. Would definitely recommend and stay again!

This is our second visit to this wonderful house on the lake. We rented a pontoon boat again. It was 6 adults 2 children and 2 dogs. The property and view is stunning. Close to Ellsworth and Acadia. Josh is an excellent and responsive host. The only negative is that it is so nice staying on the property and boat we only got to Acadia once.

We had a fantastic vacation at the lake house. The house was clean and the kitchen was well stocked. The entry way on the ground level in the back was fantastic. A fridge on the lower level would have been great to avoid walking up and down the stairs...maybe something to consider. The ac worked well in the main areas of the house but if you sleep with the door closed a fan was needed and unfortunately there werent enough fans for all the bedrooms. The house is about a half hour away from the nearest grocery store and about an hour away from Bar Harbor. It was perfect for a day trip to do some shopping and to have lunch. Beech Hill Pond is beautiful and extremely clean and clear. Its a bit rocky at the shore line but once you are in its perfect. The boat rental was a huge plus. We would definately recommend and visit again.

We had 9 adults and 1 six year old at this property. It was a beautiful lake front home with plenty of room for all of us to gather together. We all had a wonderful vacation and would highly recommend this home. There was one canoe, one kayak and 2 tandem kayaks for us to use which we did several times. Hearing the loons in the evening made my stay even better

The property was perfect for our annual ice fishing trip. It was spacious, clean, and ready for our arrival. It’s a beautiful camp and we will most definitely make plans to return again in the future.
