Being steps away from Skytop lodge was incredibly convenient! Overall the house is a bit outdated and could use some design refreshes/brightening up but it had plenty of space to comfortably accommodate our group.

The house was perfect for our stay - a bit dated but had plenty of room and was in a great location. The major downside is that it was advertised as having full access to all of the amenities at the Lodge, which turned out not to be the case. We were told by the Concierge at the Lodge that renters of the house are not allowed to use facilities such as the pool and the Adventure Center, etc. This should definitely be made clear to potential renters! Had we known we might have rented elsewhere.

Great location. old home but it was clean. kitchen needs updating especially utensils. could use a Keurig. bracelets give access to some hotel amenities but not all hotel amenities according to the hotel which meant we couldn't make reservations for some activities that we wanted to do. manager was easy to contact when we had a few issues.

The house was very cozy and close to the lodge. It is a little dated but it had a rustic mountain feel, The stone fireplace was amazing! There was wood but it had been outside in the snow and wouldn't light but there was a store close by enere we could buy some. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes and ports and pans. The host was most helpful and quickly answered any questions we had.

Would recommend to everyone to stay at house. Alex answered correspondence immediately. Can't say enough about him and property.

A cozy old New Englandish camp. Great for family bonding but plenty of personal space and excellent access to Skytop.

We had a great long weekend at this property. It was great to have so many amenities and activities within walking distance and the house offered plenty of space for us to both gather together and enjoy privacy.
As mentioned in the property description, the house is antique and the floorplan is awkward as is often the case with older homes. Overall the interior was a bit tired, including the lighting and furniture. The kitchen equipment was also quite limited — for example, there was no frying pan.
For our group we had a great weekend and feel that the weaknesses of this property are more than outweighed by the strengths, although if we return we will probably bring more of our own kitchen stuff.

The layout of the house was very accommodating for my whole family. Every bedroom was cozy and tastefully decorated. Plus, the lodge was only a stone's throw away from the house. Skytop offers many activities for all generations which kept everyone busy!

We had a wonderful family reunion, and this seven-bedroom house we chose worked perfectly. Plenty of space for 14 of us. Huge bedrooms with comfortable beds. Proximity to the Lodge with all the activities and dining was a huge plus. Many of us spent mornings sipping coffee and tea in the large screened porch right off the living room while enjoying the scenery and mountains' early breeze. There were plenty of activities at the resort for all our family generations. Golfing, fishing, and skeet shooting were big hits for most of us! We had most of our dinners at the Lodge, and the service and food were great.
We surely will be coming again! Thank you for sharing your house with us.

Great location on the 5th fairway with only a .short walk to the main lodge....super convenient. The property was complete but rather dark and somewhat tired. Plenty of bedrooms and baths. to support a large family. Overall good week.

We needed housing for 6-8 adults in a flexible space near the lodge. We were quite happy with the pricing and location of the home, which backs up to the golf course. In terms of condition, the place is sparkling clean, albeit with fairly old furnishings and fixtures. Some well-considered upgrades to furnishings and fixtures would have been a benefit. Enjoy!

We had a good 5 night stay at Alex's property. He was very friendly and helpful in answering calls and texts when we had questions about how to use things at the house. The house is very well situated to Skytop Lodge, with all its amenities, events and adventures. We had wrist bands to allow us to utilize all of that. Some things cost extra. Just check their website before you go, to find out. We ate at the Pub(good service/so so food), and the Lakeview(shout out for the great service by Kata/good food!). We had everything we needed to make meals at the house, and we did often. Stop at the Shoprite in Mt. Poconos, as it had everything-even a beautiful birthday cake for my 80 year old Mother In Law. She and her older husband had no issues with using anything at the house and at Skytop. We used the outdoor grill once and it worked out well. Everyone slept well, and we played cards every night at the dining room table. There was room for 12 of us to sit comfortably. This is a rustic house that is good for a large extended family with bathrooms enough to make everyone happy. If you are super fussy, and used to high end hotels or rentals, or fashionable decor, this is not the place for you. If you want a really good deal on a vintage place to stay at Skytop, this is it. Read the other reviews, like I did, and make your decision based on them, as well as what you see in the photos. There is a very large, beautiful, well tended, wild flower garden a stones throw from the house that you can walk in, a wonderful hike to a gorgeous waterfall just down the road and over the small highway(there were even blueberries growing on the sides of the path to pick and eat, and wild deer and their fawns were about, helping make it a magical stay. Everyone was happy with their stay. Thank you Alex! Now get that binder made! (-;

Very ideal house if you & a large group of others need a place to stay for an event at Skytop Lodge…literally 3 minutes walking from the Lodge, can’t beat it.
Large house with plenty of bedrooms, slept 14 adults (6 were couples) with no issues. AC wasn’t working in one room but they had a fan so we managed no problem.
I wouldn’t call this a complaint, but we wouldn’t have minded if the house was cleaned up a bit more before check-in. Completely understand it’s a much older house that’s deep in the woods, but a quick wipe down in certain areas could’ve gone a long way.
Would highly recommend for large groups looking for a convenient spot in the area.

We could not have asked for a better location. We rented cottage 44 and 45 for 19 people and they were so convenient to the lodge. We went during an off time and were able to use everything Skytop had to offer. They had everything we needed for this family reunion. We went hiking, kayaking, golfing, swimming, roasted marshmallows and had smores, and fishing.
One night we ate at the Lakeside (preordered dinner) and another night at Basso's Italian down the road. We also had lunch at the Pourhouse Pub down the road.
We ordered food from instacart for breakfast, lunch and snacks. Make sure you have the correct address for instacart if you do this.
I would highly recommend this home for a large group and definitely for Convenience Sake.

It was a perfect property right next to the wedding venue! It has a lot of beds and bedrooms and easily accommodated our large group.

Good size Skytop classic. Perfect for family reunion and easy access to Skytop lodges restaurants and bars.

Easily accommodated 4 branches of the family and each had the their own bathroom. It was negative 3 degrees the first morning but the stone fireplace kept us cozy and plenty of firewood was provided. The "mold" others had mentioned in reviews was not observed. 3 hepa air filter machines were available but weren't necessary. The proximity to the main Lodge is fantastic. The facilities and activities at the Lodge are outstanding. We had to leave a day early and Alex graciously gave us a credit for one night to use in the future, which the family can't wait to use next year!

As many other reviews have already said, the cabin is perfectly situated next to Skytop lodge and you have access to all of the amenities of the lodge including the lake, pool, golf course and lodge itself. The cabin is huge and all of the bedding, bathroom and kitchen were clean and functional. Fireplace was nice when the temperature dropped at night.
Communication with the owner was swift when we had questions. As other reviews have said the cabin does have a strong moldy smell in some rooms, which can be problematic if you have a lot of allergies like I do, but generally speaking it is not unexpected for a cabin in the woods.

All good, recommend dish rack.

Large bedrooms.
Nice screened - in porch.
Great location.
Easy access to all Skytop amenities.
Needs new coffee maker.
Some minor plumbing issues.
Could use dehumidifiers to help with the musty smell.
5.0
Roomy cottage with nice screened-in porch, good bathrooms and easy walk to Skytop Lodge. Wristbands give access to the amazing grounds and many activities for all ages. Kitchen has new appliances and plenty of gear to cook for a crowd - and the restaurants at the Lodge are delightful, especially the Taproom. Don’t miss the Library Lounge and the Observation Deck! The cottage is a cozy but spacious 1920s gem whose decor could use some editing and updating.

THE ONLY TROUBLE WE HAD WAS TRYING TO GET IN WITH THE LOCK BOX AS IT WOULDN'T WORK AND WE COULD NOT LOCATE THE PROPERTY MANAGER. I WAS EXTREMELY UPSET AS WE WERE WAITING THE ARRIVAL OF OUR FAMILY AND IT TOOK US OVER AN HOUR UNTIL MY HUSBAND WENT TO THE HOTEL AND THE SECURITY PEOPLE HELPED US OPEN THE LOCK.

Finally got the family together for a getaway. There were so many things for everyone to do, we were never bored. Skytop is beautiful. We hiked, biked, rented canoes, swam, hot tubbed, did the tree obstacle course, golf cart tour. Everyone was so friendly, really great place!!! Our favorite activities guy was named Gibson what a great kid!!!

My extended family has been coming to the Skytop Resort since the 1940s. This was the first time we stayed off property, and it was a very pleasant experience. We were a group of 13, including three generations, and having the use of an entire house made this a great trip. We loved all being together instead of in separate hotel rooms.
The house is old (as disclosed in the description) but the location was an easy walk to the Lodge, the house was very well stocked with kitchen essentials, and the beds were mostly comfortable. The twin beds could stand to be replaced as they were the least comfortable. The house itself could use a fresh coat of paint and some updating, but it was charming, comfortable and spacious.
The hosts were communicative, and responded to issues promptly. We will definitely rent this property again.

This property was perfect for our family reunion. The large bedrooms on the main floor were perfect for my 90 year old mom, and porch and living room had more than enough room for all 10 adults. The close location to the Skytop Lodge and access to their dining and activities worked perfectly for our group.

The location is absolutely stunning. The house
Is very old with musty smell and very old furniture. Definitely can use cleaning. Fresh coat of paint and old carpet removal would go a long way for this stunning location. Outside area is very dirty and not really usable.

We had a wonderful stay at Cottage 45. It was the perfect size for our group of 3 families. The place was clean, homey and comfortable. The weather didn't cooperate for us, but we all still had a great time since we had access to everything at Skytop and were able to keep the kids entertained with the arcade and indoor pool. We would absolutely go back.

It is not posh , but worked very well for our family . It is funky comfortable . There is plenty of bedroom and bathroom space and our bed was comfortable . The stone fire place commands the living room and we had a nice fire. We are cooks ,the kitchen is tight but serviceable . It suited our family of four folks in their thirties , 2 over sixty and one infant just fine.

I only have great days or good days so this review will be similar. Trip was 2/6/20-2/8/20The Great: The main lodge itself. Its as if stepping back in time. The furniture, decor, artwork, ambiance make you feel like you are in the early 1900s. Plenty of space to sit, converse and social distance. Arcade and Pool/hot tub were a hit w/ the kids. Lodge staff were excellent and pleasant. The Good: The house itself is huge and served its purpose. The fireplace was nice at night during snowstorm. Radiator in main bedroom at was extremely loud as if someone was banging a hammer on it for a few hours. The wife couldn't sleep and dog was scared. Upstairs guests did not hear anything so this is an easy fix I guess. Did not like taking out recycles/garbage during a snow storm Sunday night but we got it done. Kitchen had everything you could need. Washer and dryer was nice to have although we didn't use. All beds were comfortable. Shuttle to and from lodge was great although we walked a few times for exercise. All in all it was a decent stay and I would go back. Maybe in the spring/summer and stay in house again.

Beautiful fall weekend with family and friends. Plenty of room to spread out and enjoy the house and Skytop activities.

While this property is well-worn, it was clean and has a great floor plan to accommodate a large group of people. Also, it's proximity (an easy 2-minute walk) to Skytop Lodge makes it an ideal place to enjoy Skytop Lodge's excellent facilities.

We had an excellent stay! The house has an amazing layout with large rooms and many beds and slept all of us comfortably. The house was extremely clean, everything worked great and in great condition. Since the house is so close to all of Skytop’s activities, it was super convenient to come back to the house after an activity to eat/nap/whatever. It is important to note that Skytop is a resort in the Pocono mountains, and this house fit that image, it was truly a perfect cabin in the woods. The owner Alex was super helpful and engaging, and we found no trouble checking in at all. We will no doubt come again. We have stayed at the lodge before, but I would highly recommend staying at this house because you can sleep your whole family no problem, and like I said, it has an amazing location to everything.
8.0
We had a fabulous time. The cabin while old, had plenty of space for our group of 9. We didn’t have high expectations because it was a cabin, and not one of the Lodge’s rooms which are very nice but would require us eating at the lodge the entire time. We cooked all our meals with the exception of one fantastic dinner at the lodge.
This cabin was located a short distance from the Lodge. We walked all the time. We participated in many of the Lodge’s activities. We hiked many of the trails. We also played golf and tennis and even tried lawn bowling. Due to Covid, the lodge had small crowds. The Butterfly house is a fun activity for the kids. It was a perfect getaway.
If you are used to luxury, the cabin will disappoint you. 6 days without TV can be appreciated. There are 2 TVs but only dvd movies can be viewed. The cabin did have WiFi so we were able to stay in touch with news events or social media. I do advise bringing air freshener because some of the rooms were musty smelling. I had an odor absorber and it worked well. Overall - A Memorable time

THE HOUSE WAS. IDEAL FOR A FAMILY GATHERING, CLOSE TO THE LODGE AND WELL EQUIPPED. THE VERY SMALL 1ST FLOOR BEDROOM SHOULD NOT HAVE A DOUBLE BED IN IT.
8.0
The house was large and accommodated our group of 10 comfortably For our late Aug 2020 stay, and was as advertised.
Pluses: access To Skytop facilities which were wonderful: beach with large floating slides, indoor and outdoor pool, tennis courts, golf, rock climbing; fairly priced restaurants, easy walk to hotel, Screened Porch was very pleasant with many little tables for eating meals, House is large, Kitchen is older but adequate for the minor cooking we did, fun place for bike rides and hiking around The lake.
Minuses: house is old, minor mildew in Master shower, No bath soap (wish we knew), second screened door needed some care
2.0
During this time of coronavirus, cleanliness is certainly not the top priority in this house. The property is very run down, out dated, and in desperate need of a thorough cleaning. The windows are clouded with dirt, the curtains are falling off the rods and have not been washed in a very long time, if ever, and we all wore our flip- flops in the filthy showers. There was a thick layer of dust throughout the entire house. All of this is impossible to reconcile with the 4.6 star online rating that contains numerous call outs for cleanliness. As upsetting as the lack of cleanliness was , there was a much more troubling safety issue. The oven malfunctioned, heated up the cabinets, and caused dangerous levels of carbon monoxide in the house. The fire department was called and we had to evacuate the house. Because we had young children and an elderly parent in tow, we ended our vacation early for safety reasons. In short, stay at this property at your own risk, and DO NOT believe the deceptive reviews.
