Everything about the property was beautiful, amazing location, stylish, well appointed and comfortable. lead visiting owner was really responsive and friendly.
we liked everything about the property. The only thing that detracted from the experience were the staff. They were just sat around on their mobile phones and were reluctant to engage with you, requests were met with apathy, ignoring you or an eye roll, a complete contrast to the lovely owner. It was difficult to know if it was a language barrier but it felt more like attitude.

The room was skillfully designed with natural wood and traditional elements giving it a warm and homey feeling. The common open air combined kitchen and dining room allows natural light and views of the jungle while cooking and eating. The place spotlessly clean. The staff was attentive, helpful, courteous and friendly.
The bathroom was not connected to the room making it inconvenient to visit, especially at night.

We loved our stay at Casa Vana, the location was fantastic and really enjoyed being a short walk away from the beach/cafes/restaurants. The staff were brilliant and enjoyed their company, they were very helpful with recommendations and allowed us to have a late check out. The room was spacious and we enjoyed having a semi outdoor shower whilst hearing the monkeys. Would definitely recommend.

Good location
When we booked the room it wasn't totally clear that the bathroom was two doors down from our room, understandable that our room was priced cheaper for this reason but its still not worth the price. The beds were very uncomfy and sheets didn't smell good. The padlocks were so annoying to constantly lock and unlock, not sure why proper locks cannot be installed. We stayed 2 nights and didn't get any clean towels or room clean is annoying because its impossible to dry anything in this tiny room.

The rooms were beautiful very close to the beach. Loved that the host was recommending great places to go to or eat and in general very hostile stuff. We loved everything!!

I just loved this place. I extended my staying for one week, because it felt so good to be there.

the location - was very close to the beach. responsive staff and a nice open area
we had a room that was small and given the mosquitoes in the night, couldn't use the open area as well.

A perfect base to unwind outside of kandy .
The guides were very informative and helpful
We particularly enjoyed the village walks and learning about all of the spices which are growing in the forest near Kandy and the morning yoga.

The big rooms, the common area and the location are fantastic.
The small room with external bathroom is quite small.
We had some communication issues with the staff.

It’s interior makes a relaxing, nature-bonded atmosphere. The common area is comfortable and enhances conversations with other guests. The outdoor shower was the cherry on top. We made good use the washing machine too for a small price.
It is the only stay in sri lanka where i could have seen myself staying longer. It really makes you feel like home!
nothing, everything was perfect

Great location and amazing hospitality. Highly recommend it to couples, and solo travelers.

We loved our stay here - very relaxing, laid-back atmosphere in the middle of a jungle, yet super close to the beach. We enjoyed our balcony with a stunning view (lots of trees, monkeys). Nice, clean room with a very cool open bathroom.

Everything is great at Rasanjanas guest house.
He and his stuff are very friendly and helpful.
We felt very welcome. You feel like you are at home.
There is nothing to complain about…

The outdoor shower was really beautiful, and its close to the beach which was really nice.
There were no breakfast and if you stay more than a night or two, bring your own toilet paper.

Casa Vana is very close to Hiriketiya Beach and tucked away in a quiet garden behind trees and flowers.
The rooms are spacious and the atmosphere super relaxing. They have a community area with kitchen which is open to everyone so preparing your own breakfast is super easy and comes with an amazing view.
One time per week they offer a dinner which is cooked by a very nice lady. You can watch and learn (she doesn’t speak English though) and then eat all together (~1500 LKR per person).
You’ll definitely find cheaper options in Hiriketiya but it is a wonderful experience that I would highly recommend!
Nothing major! We had a clocked shower when we arrived which wasn’t fixed. We’ve also had other places with warmer hospitality but also came with high standards so nothing really to complain about

The location of the hotel is everything, it is a five minute walk from the beach but still in the jungle with monkeys around everywhere. Absolutely amazing, within nature but still in a modern beautiful design. Also the feeling the hotel gives, it is not a rigid hotel with a front desk and stiff behavior. The hotel has so much personality and the staff treats you so nicely and sincere. I felt heart broken when I left the hotel, because the whole time I was there I felt so whole and happy.
Nothing not to like

Beautiful and chilled place, friendly owner Rusty, great atmosphere both to relax and to work. We stayed there for 3 days but I wish it was 3 weeks.

Rasti was an amazing host, he recommended the best places we could go and he organised a very interesting cooking experience at Casa Vana. The room was beautiful and very comfortable. The location is amazing. I definitely recommend this place!

This place is even better than it looks on the pictures. We loved the big terrace with the jungle view and the outdoor shower. For people who want to stay close to the beach and enjoy surfing and good food places and at the same time enjoy the calmness and relaxation in the jungle, this is the ideal place to stay. The open kitchen is a nice spot to hang out with lovely people. Upon request the host can provide you with a locally cooked dinner that really blows your mind. We had a wonderful time and definitely recommend this beautiful escape villa.

Beautiful, tropical feel to it in the best possible location, very nice room and welcoming, helpful staff.

Rasanjana was helpful and responsive before we arrived e.g. he clearly explained that the bathroom was outside the room, so we had no surprises on arrival. Lulu was delightful after we arrived and so friendly. Lucy the dalmatian dog made us happy. The property is modern and well decorated. The location of the property is excellent - so close to the beach but away from all the noise. The shared kitchen and sitting out area is well set up for cooking and conducive to socialising. The hotel next door (Hiriketiya Beach Resort) has value for money meals and a nice ambiance
Our car could not reach the property parking due to the steep angle of the drive way and lack of ground clearance. My towel had cat or monkey urine on it. The shower had low water pressure. In all 3 cases, the staff were extremely helpful and attentive in solving these issues. No complaints from our side. The room we stayed in is very small but we knew that in advance

I stayed only one night as it was fully booked
Got upgraded as a customer didn’t show up
Woke up early by the monkeys plying in the roof

Brilliant location and customer service.

Friendly and helpful staff with the best English we have heard in Sri Lanka :) Once they organized a dinner for all the hotel guests, and it was really tasty. The building is located inside a park (or forest) so there are many animals nearby.
No soundproofing between rooms.

Nice host, who organizes yoga classes in the morning and local cooking class. The building is beautiful with a lot of attention to details.
The bathroom was outside and not connected to the sleeping room. Thus, at night it was full of frogs and you had to pass through communal area to get to the bathroom.
